Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Cons: "Nothing. Perfect flight."
Pros: "Good experience"
Cons: "Better snacks"
Pros: "There was an incredibly large passenger next to me and I was essentially afforded only a quarter of my seat. It is not really fair for anyone to have to sit next to someone taking up twice their seat."
Pros: "Clean and new planes, nice crew"
Cons: "Terrible delays and schedule for no reason, nothing wrong with weather in either direction"
Pros: "The crew was amazing. My seat was comfortable."
Cons: "The plane was delayed. It arrived over 25 minutes after it was originally scheduled to."
Pros: "Amazing crew"
Cons: "Wifi didn't work"
Pros: "Crew was the best I have had in 2019 on Delta, the only good crew."
Cons: "Everything at the Atlanta Airport. From the airport and staff itself to those working for Delta Airlines. It has been so bad, that I am thinking of flying with American Airlines again and avoiding the Atlanta Airport all together. Absolutely the worst airport in the country, Delta not much better"
Cons: "WiFi didn't work"
Cons: "Even the comfort seats are crammed together too close. One can barely move. Dreadful"
Pros: "The flight crew did an excellent job communicating the weather expectations for the flight. I appreciate that information although the actual flight turned out to be very smooth."
Cons: "They were short 1 flight attendant, delayed us for 3 hours"
Cons: "Front gate person was very rude, inpatient and did not help us to print our new boarding passes that they gave in Barcelona. During boarding process, we had to wait aside until new boarding passes printed that could have been done over an hour earlier."
Pros: "Boarding was easy. Checking in was easy, the overall flight was quiet and quick and on time"
Cons: "Nothing to report here"
Pros: "Crew was very kind"
Cons: "Delta delayed us SEVEN times and I type this as we are rounding our 30th minute waiting to get off the plane at Logan."
Pros: "It was very good flight"
Pros: "The leg room in comfort+ was nice."
Cons: "I didn't like how the cabin temperature was freezing cold. My wife and I were wearing long pants and sweaters and were still freezing. We asked the flight attendants twice for blankets and each time they said no. I know they had extra blankets but for some reason they did not give us one. I thought that sitting in comfort+ they'd at least give us the comfort of a blanket but I guess not... Oh well."
Pros: "The flight attendant, Winsom, was fantastic."
Pros: "I, as a tall man, was allowed to move into an exit row with no additional charge. The flights were not full."
Pros: "Friendly service"
Cons: "The booking was done through vayama and the confirmation numbers didn't match with delta's. It was confusing. I had to talk to a delta rep and give her the eticket # and at that point, she gave me a new confirmation #, that I was able to use to check in with on delta"
Pros: "I have always known of airlines to offer preboarding to those military members in uniform or on official orders. Delta took it one step further and allows prior service members to board also."
Pros: "The free TV was nice."
Cons: "A tiny bag of pretzels is a stingy snack. Aeromexico gave us a croissant with two pieces of cheese, applesauce and a square of chocolate."
Pros: "That I had room to accommodate my at the time disability and the crew members amazing"
Cons: "No Tv at all."
Pros: "What can I say...I love Delta!"
Pros: "Staff smooth flight great landing and free movies"
Cons: "Everything was perfect"
Cons: "The boarding process doesn't make sense. My seat assignment was changed for no reason, and I didn't have a say in it. I was put further back on the plane. Not happy about that."
Cons: "Felt like I was sitting in my neighbors lap!"
Pros: "Entertainment options"
Cons: "Tight space"
Cons: "The flight is delayed 3.5 hours."
Pros: "Quick and easy flight. Took about an hour and twenty minutes."
Pros: "I'm very satisfied."
Cons: "No comemt"
Cons: "We were arbitrarily re-seated due to equipment changes, back and forth and lost our original seat selection even though we wound up on a plane with the original configuration. An international call wait of 1.5 hours was required to just get us back into the economy plus section that we had originally paid for, Amsterdam check-in was chaotic. In-plane staff was not at all helpful with our desire to get seats on the outside rows of our section."
Pros: "On time departure and arrival, clean plane. Enough space for your carry on."
Cons: "Despite having 15 open seats on the earlier flight, I needed to pay $75/person to take the earlier flight. I chose not to do this. Would I have loved to get home 2 hours earlier."
Pros: "Who could ask for more?"
Pros: "I was able to do my check in and seat picking fast with no problem"
Cons: "A lot of the airport employees and staff negative and Grouchi mean attitude but does not take away nothing with the airline company staff very helpful and positive people"
Pros: "Nothing about it was good. They made us Americans feel so unwanted."
Cons: "The staff was rude"
Cons: "The Atlanta Airport is Insane for the handicapped. Try to get through the airport with 1. Your own scooter, 2. How to get into and back out of the elevators and trains and 3. The 1000s of people to make your flight in an hour at this unfamiliar airport Now try to do that when your wife also has to get around with her scooter and try to stay together. Then if your flight gets moved to another gate...and you have 10 minutes to do ALL this again... Never mind the bathrooms while one of us watches the scooters while the other uses the facilities and this is Impossible. Never mind the narrowness of the elevators. STRONGLY SUGGEST AN AIRLINE EMPLOYEE TRIES TO SEE THE PROBLEMS FIRST HAND with a scooter, THEN RECOMMEND FIXES. And don't get me started on the restarants with tables too close together if you use a scooter. Toronto airport is better as a comparison. Alton and Mary Cason"
Pros: "Love Delta...plenty of legroom. Nearly always on time"
Pros: "Nice Pajamas. Individual window seat. Decent food."
Cons: "Seat ptich could be/should be - wider. Snacks can be better and have better option.. ( only Apple for a fruit? Gimme a break)"
Pros: "The prompt transfer"
Cons: "My one piece of hard shell luggage has a special, difficult way of latching. As long as nobody opens it, it stays fine for shipping. The problem is your greedy Chinese luggage handling thieves who work for your airlines in Chinese airports. Whenever they can steal from luggage, they always try to steal from passengers, particularly American. I have had multiple experiences with theft from Chinese airports. I have been to China and back to the USA five times. Many times, items have disappeared from my suitcases in Chinese airports. That is why I decided not to move to China to live but instead move to Indonesia. However, if I fly any plane that transfers my luggage in China, I can usually expect to have my luggage robbed. Although this time, nothing was missing from my luggage, that fact that your people had to wrap my suitcase in plastic (because they did not know the secret for relatching it) and resend it a day later, that is proof that one of your airport personnel opened it to see what he could steal and then got caught because he could not close it again. I am really really really tired of you Chinese thieves. I blame all of you because you are all a product of Mao Tse Tung’s godless atheistic evil society. The Chinese have proven to me again and again that they cannot be trusted. A Kong Chinese official even stole my Ohio driver’s license when I transferred through that airport on a previous trip to Jakarta. I understand your problem. If you fire all dishonest luggage department workers, you will not have any workers remaining. That is why you will always rank as a third world backward primitive society even though you buy expensive airplanes that you don’t build and dress your people up like professionals which they aren’t. AS LONG AS Chinese airport luggage people are dishonest and cannot be trusted, your entire airline is a failure. That is not prejudice against Chinese people. I know some honest good ones. They are all Christians, the kind of good people the corrupt Chinese government hates. An atheistic country is an evil country. Do not expect to be respected by honest people. You people clearly do not deserve it. You are still in the stone age when it comes to professionalism which requires total honesty, a quality which your luggage handlers consider to be dispensable. Such cave men they are!"
Cons: "Too little leg room; hit entrees poor tasting"
Pros: "service. Thank you."
Cons: "comfort seats were uncomfortable"
Pros: "Availability of First Class service was the only saving grace."
Cons: "Delays longer than the scheduled flight time. Entertainment options are limited in the time of such a short flight. Long distance between gates when you have been forced into a hurry by delays."
Pros: "Love the in flight entertainment. Wouldn't pay an extra fee for it, but love it as a complimentary perk."
Pros: "USB and AC power supplied in-seat is incredibly nice feature."
Cons: "1 of the 3 bags we checked was forgotten at JFK airport. Since we had a 5 hour layover, Delta had ample time to get the bag on the plane."
Cons: "Must have been an older Delta jet. It had no entertainment. The wifi was poor."
Pros: "The staff was helpful."
Cons: "The flight was delayed due to a crew member no show and eventually cancelled. I was unable to go to Iowa to see my family."
Cons: "Sat in airport for 8 hours while flight was delayed an hour at a time only to be cancelled after 8 hours of waiting. Had to rent car and drive 10 hours to destination"

Cons: "More room for bags"
Cons: "Another American Airlines delay"

Cons: "No wifi no movie."
Pros: "I hated the whole experience"
Cons: "I’ve never flown American Airlines and the flight was on time."
Cons: "Check in at originating and connecting flight very difficult. American Airlines could not find reservation on British Airways system. Was asked multiple times if I truly was booked on the flight. Four+ hour delay due to mechanical issues, delayed by union issues."
Pros: "Think I said this before. Up graded to 1st class because the flight to Miami was do horrible."
Pros: "Much better flight in 1st class than in cattle car. Not happy about the extra cost just so not to be misrtsble."
Pros: "Not happy having to spend the extra money to fly 1st class because the flight from Phoenix was so terrible."
Cons: "Flight delayed 2hrs - but no fault of the airline."
Pros: "I was in first class thanks to an upgrade. The flight attendant was very nice. But the amenities are total garbage - no seatback in-flight entertainment, no power."
Cons: "No in-flight entertainment except on your own device. No power, ensuring your device will die on a long flight. The old US Airways fleet from the Northeast is awful."
Pros: "All was good with the flight. It was a bit cramped, but it was an old full flight. Not a big deal"
Cons: "Nothing really"
Pros: "Food was better than expected, entertainment options were good."
Cons: "If all airlines would just board the people at the back of the plane first, it would go a lot faster."
Cons: "KTerrible coffee. Tasted stale"
Cons: "Too many delays that made me miss the original time I was to catch my connecting flight. Missed my appointment in Spain as a result..."
Pros: "On time. Quick boarding."
Cons: "The delay out of Charlotte but the staff did a great job keeping us informed and boarding as quick as possible."
Cons: "Food Seats so tight"
Pros: "I got there on time and they didn't lose my luggage."
Cons: "The planes are too cramped, costs are too high, staff just love pointing out a carry on isn't a carry on even though it's sold as one and fits in every other airline's definition of one. Boarding process is ridiculous."
Pros: "Flight was delayed then cancelled. No explanation, apologies, or provision for accommodation was made or offered!"
Pros: "The crew was friendly, the seats were comfortable, the lav was large enough to turn around in, and we arrived in plenty of time to catch our train out of Frankfurt."
Cons: "The movie selection didn't have anything interesting."
Pros: "It was a small plane so the crew pulled larger totes and packed them separately. It worked very efficiently given the circumstances."
Cons: "Very tight quarters, but ok for short flight"
Pros: "excellent flight. on time and no issues"
Pros: "Entertainment, seating room"
Pros: "The crew was very nice. It was Christmas so the flight was not full."
Cons: "It was a short flight, so it was fine."
Pros: "On-time arrival; competent crew"
Cons: "Nothing; the flight was OK."
Pros: "Comfortable and wide seats in coach - as wide as or wider than my usual airline. Flight attendants were friendly and helpful. I had bad experiences with American in the past, but this one was surprisingly pleasant."
Cons: "No free entertainment or meals."
Pros: "Good movies"
Cons: "not enough food"
Pros: "I am not comfortable flying so for me, flying makes me nervous"
Pros: "On time"
Cons: "Paid extra for seat and I don't see why. It wasn't any better than lower priced seats. American boarding process is unnecessarily complicated. Board from the back forward like Alaska does."
Pros: "The crews were very kind to young people."
Pros: "it was ok"
Cons: "I paid extra for a window seat but had to sit in different spot. Set in isle seat"
Pros: "Great crew on Sacto flight. More comfortable than Phoenix flight because not full."
Cons: "Had to wait for crew delayed by weather. No gate when we got to SMF. Luggage took way too long to come off. Lots of turbulence - not your fault - but I HATE it."
Cons: "The sound did not work in my assigned seat. I could not watch any movies or partipate in any games."
Pros: "Crew was attentive and nice. Pilot kept us updated on our delayed departure."
Cons: "The departure was delayed due to maintainence issues. Every time that occurs, there are long delays to complete the paperwork. No problem with wanting a well maintained plane, but there should be some quicker way to complete the documentation."
Pros: "no problems."
Pros: "We were able to board first. The round trip flight was overall amazing. American Airlines is awesome when it comes to active duty flying. When try let him board early and took his luggage they also did the same for me as his wife and it was a great experience to know they care for both of us."
Cons: "I didn't like the lady we sat next to! But you can't help that. So you all did amazing!"
Pros: "Either BA or American Airlines didn't know that We got switched by BA TO AN EARLIER FLIGHT TO JFK!. When we arrived in PIT we almost missed our flight to JFK. The American desk agent at check in had to walk us thru security because of this. OTHERWISE EVERYTHING ELSE WAS OK."
Cons: "See above."
Pros: "On time, clean plane."
Cons: "Crew announcements are too loud! What is that all about?"
Cons: "In seat entertainment"
Pros: "Hot tea to warm me up. Friendly flight attendants"
Pros: "Quick flight"
Cons: "Never given complimentary beverage"
Pros: "It was a new plane, with nice seats and a power outlet. What more could you ask for. Flight was on time"
Pros: "United canceled this flight."
Cons: "If United didn't cancel this flight and then rudely answer questions about a full refund."
Cons: "Less crowded, with better two-bag carryons enforcement forces coach and more latitude for First Class."
Pros: "Kind, attentive crew who were very professional"
Cons: "The armrest control for the TV embedded in the seat in front of me from Pittsburgh to Denver didn't work, so I was forced to watch sports-ball while trying to read a book/work on my laptop. There's so little space between seats that it felt like an intrusion into my personal space."
Pros: "Meh. Once we took off it was fine."
Cons: "It was almost 6 hours late. Performed brilliantly like a classic United delay updated in 30 minute increments? Could have taken the next two flights and left earlier. Could have driven and got there earlier. Luckily we were able to get three really crappy seats on a later connection to Frankfurt"
Cons: "Direct flight"
Pros: "The crew was very good and the seats were also fine"
Pros: "Meals were decent."
Pros: "Delayed but we arrived almost on time"
Cons: "Terrible that United charges for Carry on bags!!! Most airlines don’t do that but this is almost getting like flying in other low cost airlines. The price was not super competitive and on top they give you mediocre Seats, they split your family members just to push you to pay for the upgrades."
Cons: "Gate crew was grumpy. Treated passengers as children"
Pros: "Boarded a little early and everything was moved along smoothly and efficiently. Quick and painless. Very smooth landing."
Pros: "Early morning departures are the best and the crew and boarding staff were fantastic"
Cons: "Small seat space"
Pros: "Flight boarded quickly with enough room for my luggage in overhead bin. Seat by the window had enough leg room with a bag underneath the seat. Flight landed safely."
Cons: "No assistance with placing and removing luggage from the overhead bin by the flight attendants."
Pros: "Nice smooth flight. Very attentive crew. Comfortable seats. Flying is when it's nice to be small."
Cons: "Flight delayed because of oil leak in engine. Not offered nuts instead of pretzels."
Pros: "On time"
Cons: "whereupon it printed a boarding pass and luggage tag to Houston for a previous customer who had apparently started but not finished checking in. Now I wonder if United will actually charge my credit card for his flight?"
Pros: "I liked the staff at united in Pittsburgh who helped solve the real mess with my reservation"
Cons: "I did not like having my flight to Düsseldorf changed to flight to Frankfurt without being told of the change. That flight was late so I missed my connection to GVA- Frankfurt is a dreadful airport"
Pros: "leg room was great, i was treated with respect everyone did a good job, from the people at the gate to the pilot and stewards."
Cons: "had to peice together the flight, would have liked to have gotten all wiith one purchase"
Pros: "Smooth flight, kind of cramped but overall not bad."
Cons: "Snacks only available for purchase, cramped seats with limited room."
Cons: "Delay in departing Pittsburgh and also in landing in Newark. Boarding in Newark was put in a corner and United personal at the alternate counter was not polite. Delay landing in Venice and apparently at higher speed than normal, which created alarm at the firefighting statin in Marco Polo's airport."
Pros: "Clean, New airplane, roomy seats. No complaints!"
Cons: "I don't have a problem with a flight being delayed for any reason. That is simply one of the hazards of flying. However, the PIT->ORD flight was delayed multiple times for unknown reasons. If the airline would have given a realistic timetable, customers could have managed their time much easier. Instead, United Airlines kept delaying takeoff for 15-20 minutes, multiple times. When they finally get the customers into the boarding process, they act like they're doing you a favor. Poorly managed, customers manipulated."
Pros: "On time"
Cons: "Everything great"
Cons: "the wifi connection did not work."
Cons: "Not many updates, very delayed, no drinks given out. Crew very nice and helpful"
Cons: "Not enough legroom for someone 6'5"."
Pros: "On time good service very clean"
Pros: "The crew was fantastic."
Cons: "The cramped space"
Pros: "2 hrs late!"
Pros: "Leaving and arriving on time Comfortable head rest Option to watch tv for free"
Cons: "Inefficient boarding process led to confusing lines at the gate and slow movement on the plane."
Pros: "Flight was wonderful!"
Pros: "After boarding late, e erroneous finally got seated. Then announcement that due to weather delays (snow flurries) Newark, we were delayed and had to deplane! So, everyone gets off, slowly. Long story short we were late by about just an hour. The crew, the plane were fine, just tough to have to spend so much time at the airport sitting around and then to be delayed ( on, off and on again) is what made it a just ok trip."
Cons: "See above!"
Cons: "My father is 89 and our whole family went to see him off. My husband, 3 children and myself. When I went to the ticket gate to check him in, the ladies did not issue a family pass to us. They said only 1 member of our family can go with him to wheel him to the gate. So my husband went since my father had 2 carry on luggage plus he wheeled my father. So the ladies were not very understanding. At that age I do hope he makes it back in 6 months for us all to see him again! We've been issued passes before and their only excuse was it was busy which it was not at all, no lines anywhere."
Cons: "You will be seeing a formal compliant and expect a refund. We will not be using Kayak again."
Pros: "Economy+ seats were very nice. The stroopwaffel snack beats Delta hands down. Check-in was smooth and we had no hiccups."
Cons: "The boarding lines were not clearly delineated. It seemed like there were gate check offers, but audio systems at the gate were not very coherent. Paying for Direct-TV is so-so."
Cons: "Wifi should be free"
Pros: "The experience overall was good. Loved having the plug outlet."
Cons: "Wish I could have had the entertainment on the app."
Cons: "Everything else"
Cons: "Lining up is about getting overhead space. It gets brutal and awful atmosphere."
Cons: "Recent airline corporation consolidation has greatly reduced consumer choice. The surviving major airlines, in their effort to cut costs, sacrifice quality control and assurance. Pittsburgh's status as "no longer a major hub" was on full display here. United needed to have customer service agents available on site, but they did not. The review could easily turn into an essay on United's complete failure (ask the remaining passengers who were supposed to be on the PIT-IAD), but such a review would not change the state of affairs in the airline industry. I will be contacting United reps to lodge an official complaint."
Cons: "When I passed a crew member and asked him where to put my bag because there was no more space in the overhead compartments, he replied with a snarky and cocky attitude that was not appreciated in the least."
Pros: "Seating is so close you can count the hairs on the passenger in front of you. Tray is too close to you and uncomfortable to even eat or drink anything. Overseas and international seating needs to be larger than short domestic flights."
Cons: "Seating was terribly close, too close for comfort."
Cons: "We had a confirmed reservation on tickets that I bought months ago. However, when we went to get our seats, the flight had been oversold. We were involuntarily booted off the flight- even though one on standby got a seat, and another person did not show up- we could have gotten on the flight! We were heavily compensated and the staff were as generous as they could be, but it was completely frustrating and upsetting when you have to go through that, after ahead time planning to be booted off a flight like that."
Pros: "Nothing. I didn't take off yet. The flight was cancelled. I got 5 hrs sleep and had to be back at the airport, so I can have the longest day ever, but I guess that doesn't matter, because nobody does anything except shuffle you along"
Pros: "Pittsburgh International Airport's wheelchair service was excellent (provided separate from United Airlines)."
Cons: "I was traveling for the first time in crutches. As soon as I approached the check-in counter, the lady at the counter asked me rudely "Are you checking in any luggage?". I first told her that I requested assistance getting to the gate and asked if it would be by a wheelchair or a cart. She didn't answer the question, and repeated the same question. Since I had one carry-on size bag, I asked if I need to check it in, or if I can bring it with me when they help me get to the gate. To which she replied in a very irritated tone, "I'm asking you if you need to check it in! Can you bring the bag on-board and put it away in the overhead bin YOURSELF WITHOUT ANY HELP?", hinting that no one will provide any help... At this point, I went ahead and checked in my bag. Thank God the wheelchair service is provided by a separate vendor, because he was wonderful and helpful. While we waited to board, the flight was delayed a few times. I could not hear the announcement from where I was sitting, but I noticed people started to make a line by the central info counter. 4:42pm, I received the cancellation notice via email. Because of my injury, I was unable to wait in line for long, so I chose to sit and wait next to the counter, until the line got shorter. 1 hour later, the line was growing even longer. 6pm, I re-booked a new flight for the next day via iPhone app, however, it was still showing the old boarding pass that I was automatically re-booked for. I still had to talk to someone from United to confirm, also to ask for wheelchair to get back to the main building, so I continued to wait. At one point, one of the United employees moved to the side counter to make a call re: another flight that arrived. I went and stood right in front of her and said "Excuse me, I have a quick question about wheelchair service". She looked at me right in my eyes, but she started talking to the other person on the phone. After she hung up, she ignored me and went back to the center counter, leaving me confused as to what just happened... At this point, I did not even want to make another attempt to ask for help. 7:20pm, the line went down to 3 people; a gentleman with a bad knee, another gentleman with a bad leg and myself on crutches... Am I the only one to think there is something wrong with this picture? 7:40pm, I was finally on the way back to the main building with a wheelchair service, which by the way is run by a group of amazing people. I am not complaining about the delays and cancellations. I understand it happens. I am not expecting that someone like me with temporary disability automatically receives first place in line. I do, however, wish United was more aware of some people who are in need of assistance, while being fair to other passengers. I cannot imagine how difficult it is for people with disabilities to travel with United Airlines."
Cons: "Due to my initial delayed flight I got to O'Hare during a drastically busy time. Due to the amount of people, noise, and dishevelment my PTSD became aggravated and I found myself having an attack. I chose the initial early flight to ensure this would not happen. I am aware of what causes my PTSD to become aggravated and I take that into consideration when I make all plans."
Pros: "I sat in exit row. Since I am tall , I enjoyed having leg room Each seat had a screen and Wi Fi availability."
Cons: "The lack of air conditioning in the economy section. Noticeably cooler in the front an middle section of the plane. Rear of plane warm. The less you pay the less comfort a customer receive? Plane fares are expensive for everyone. Even those who buy economy should ride with comfortable seating and temperature."
Cons: "Customer service would not let me take flight home from reservation and only resolution was an additional 200 fee plus the price difference in cost of ticket There is no logical reason why the airline would attempt to charge additional fees in this circumstance as my first leg I allowed an open seat for standby passengers which benefited United monetarily should this have been a non rev passenger and essentially the cost I paid for round trip I was only asking to use for one way due to emergency circumstances. I strongly suggest having a valid reason outside of taking advantage of people by overcharging because the customer is at the airlines mercy. Simply wrong!"
