Cons: "TSA had no time to help a disabled person, rather abruptly sending me from line to line to line, because I was disqualified from going through walk-through a certain scanner. Then was un-necessarilly angry with me for putting my Kindle on top of my laptop, to go through the scanner. If TSA had given clearer directions, I would have known how to place electronic devices in the plastic tub. Also they took my wallet from me to go through the scanned by itself. As TSA staff pushed belongings down the conveyor, the little dish holding my wallet turned over, credit cards and the like started to fall all over and under the machine. I started to collect my congtents and was told to stay put, and hold out my hands so they could swab my hands for explosives, and to not move while they put the swab in their sensing machine. Makes me want to not fly in the future."

Had problems with my boss as well because I was supposed to work the next day but they rescheduled my flight for that day. Really not a pleasant experience..."

None of the travel agents offer to help find me a new flight home nor did they offer to pay the difference of having to book a NEW TICKET THROUGH A NEW AIRLINE nor offer to help for my UNEXPECTED COST OF HAVING TO STAY IN PORTLAND ANOTHER NIGHT. The agents were rude and not helpful in the least bit. I will NEVER fly Spirit Airlines again."

Not to mention the leg room of their seats is minimal, especially for a tall person and their planes just seem old and run down. Their staff obviously HATES working for them. I've witnessed numerous bad attitudes from their flight attendants towards other passengers. I've had someone be overserved alcohol on a Spirt flight and they puked all over me! The flight attendants that overserved the guy barely gave me any towels or anything to clean the vomit off of my purse and legs. The icing on the cake this time for me is that now on top of exorbitant carry on baggage fees they NOW CHARGE $3 FOR A WATER BOTTLE. This airline is a complete joke and they have taken my money for the very last time. Stay away from them if you possibly can."

This airline is best described in one word: ghetto. My flight home was cancelled due to high winds in Las Vegas (which I understand is not the airlines fault). However, the airline did absolutely nothing to accommodate their customers in finding a new way home. When I called customer service to try to find a new flight, the man assisting me was extremely rude and unhelpful and when I asked to speak with his supervisor he hung up on me! Thankfully, Alaska Airlines took care of me and found me a flight to Los Angeles, where I then had to rent a car and drive home to Las Vegas, arriving at 5 in the morning, a 16+ hour day of traveling (which then led to me getting sick and missing 2 days of work). To top it off, spirit airlines then emailed me "we are so sorry, here's a $50 voucher". First of all, what in the hell is $50 going to do???? Second, how about you refund my money for my checked bag and seat on the plane and refund my father his money for the flight that never occurred? Or how about refunding me the $500 i paid in a new flight to LAX and rental car so that I could get home? I am extremely disappointed in spirit airlines and will NEVER use them ever again. And I will make sure to let everyone I know follow the same advice too."

Cons: "Charges for everything. $55 for a carry-on bag? Come on (fortunately, I had only a small backpack so I didn't have to pay that)! Extra charges if you want a non-random seat. Bullying at the gate ("If you haven't paid the $55 for your carry-on bags by boarding, I'm gonna charge you $100!!!"). Seats seemed even more cramped than usual. I found the whole experience pretty unpleasant and will generally avoid Spirit."

Cons: "Baggage fees are ridiculous, spend the same money and fly a real airline if you add the baggage fee and seat fee. The seats do not recline, maybe they buy seats from the rejects from other airlines. Everything on this airline is a surcharge, with that in mind, if you do travel with Spirit, travel light and buy your clothing at your destination and pack food and drink prior to boarding."

Cons: "Unless you're seated in the front of the plane there isn't any leg room! They nickel and dime you for EVERYTHING and I do mean EVERYTHING! They charge for carry-ons! Never have I been on a service that charges more for Carry-ons than checked-in luggage! I mean seriously! Unless you pay $59 for their "Club" luggage is not cheap! Why would I pay for discounts with this airline? No comfort! No entertainment whats so ever! No free beverage! Carry-ons are more expensive! My plane ticket only cost $89! But the luggage fee is $52 EACH WAY! My luggage cost more than the plane ticket its self! Ridiculous! NEVER EVER AM I FLYING WITH SPIRIT! WORST AIRLINE EVER! Avoid!"

Cons: "once we got to the airport to check in, Spirit Airlines charges for carry on bags $50.00/ea no food available only water, soda and juice at $3.00. seats had little to no padding, they did not recline, no TV. in the end it was not much cheaper and an awful flight. the pilot dipped and swayed like if we were on a roller coaster."

They charge $55 JUST TO HAVE A CARRY ON sized bag (a purse or laptop "personal item" are free...but don't think of bringing clothes other than the ones u are wearing on your back. Doesn't matter if you check it or carry it on. Very misleading, I'm surprised they are allowed to have this shady policy that is not standard airline practice. The price goes up to $100 if u don't pay your baggage "toll" before you get to the gate..."
Cons: "I could not believe all the hidden charges! I had to pay an extra $41.00 for my checked bag each way...and an extra $50.00 just to bring my violin on board!! I was not charged this extra fee on the outbound flight, so it was very inconsistent. Then, once you get on the plane it is VERY tight seating. Super uncomfortable. And I had paid an extra $15.00 each way to have a better seat. WOW, I really do not like Spirit Airlines at all."

Cons: "The rows of seats in the rear are too close for an average sized man. I'm 5'9" and my knees touched the seat in front of me. The Spirit pricing model puts all the burden and stress and uncertainty of travel on the traveler. I feel like mistakes could be very expensive. Website makes it impossible to talk to a human if you have questions or need to make changes. Website had a bug where I couldn't make a change without becoming a "member" and getting a login and password.... just what I need another thing to remember. Got errors when I tried just using my trip identifier that implied that the website had problems and that I should try again later."

Pros: "We never selected our seats (since it's an extra charge to do so) and we ended up with the only seats that were available, which were in business class! So that was a very nice surprise. Really enjoyed the extra leg room especially benig 5'8 and my boyfriend being 6'2."
Cons: "They charge for everything, including a cup of water. But I was expecting that since I had read previous reviews on Spirit. Another thing, they try to get you to sign up for their credit card/airline rewards card. They give a whole badly rehearsed presentation on what a great card it is. Can easily be ignored but still a bit annoying."

Cons: "I had my blind 8 year old with me. They were so rushed that even when they called purple with disabilities to board that took longer first, they have me a bad time about her. She didn't look blind they said. She had her cane! Come on. It was her first flight. I don't need to argue the fact that she is blind in front if you. What does a blind person look like?"
