Finally, we were not told in advance that we had to go through security twice and through US Customs BEFORE leaving Dublin. So, the 6-hour layover at JFK was a complete waste of our time as we did not have to go through Customs there."

It's not safe, healthy or humane to ask human beings to sit for hours in tiny spaces with very little air (on top of everything else, the plane was mercilessly hot the whole time). Next time I will choose a European carrier--even the discount Euro carriers are better than any US airline."

Pros: "The flight started with a visit in the recently renovated KLM crown lounge in Amsterdam airport. I liked the various seating options and of course the upstairs bar. The service on board was attentive and efficient, the food options I really liked (especially the Chinese dish) but also the little touches like the nuts & gouda cheese which were served in small porcelain bowls. The seat itself was very comfortable when sitting and the structure gives a lot of privacy. However for couples or friends travelling it's a bit cumbersome to have a conversation even when sitting in seats next to each other. Overall my expectations were fulfilled."

Relaxing atmosphere, comfortable seating, great in-flight entertainment, although I have the go-go in-flight data/entertainment plan with t-mobile (highly recommended), the flight included a decent selection of movies, television programs, etc. The food far exceeded typical "airline quality," even for an international flight - and included a fabulous little snack box with locally sourced gourmet and specialty items such as chocolate from Belgium, fine cheeses from France, and crackers from England. Drinks = gratis, and crew was exceptionally attentive and went out of their way to make flight as pleasant as possible."

You can't go wrong flying Iceland Air."
Cons: "Our seats were reassigned at the last minute (upon boarding) to seats that couldn't recline at all. The people in front of us could recline their seats fully, giving us no room whatsoever to move. We had no room to even rest our heads on the table or cross our legs. It was very uncomfortable. Had I known the seating was so uncomfortable, I would not have flown this airline. These were not the seats we selected earlier, so we were taken by surprise at being given such terrible seats and offered no options. I will not fly this airline again."

Boarding was late, and the pile up on the runway caused further delays. I will not be using Icelandair for the foreseeable future because the airport needs to get its act together. As of now, it is simply not ready to be the major hub that it aspires to be."

Passengers for three different flights all gather in sone small hallway outside the gates and are allowed into the gate by seat rows. this makes no difference in how you board, because once you get inside the gate area, it is just a mob waiting to up the stairs/escalator to the gangway with no rhyme or reason to who goes when."

When they were made to realize that I was a vegetarian, they made no effort to find alternatives knowing they did not have veg food on the flight. The international flights should carry at least one veg option. This flight had none. I almost starved during the flight. Boarding process was not well organized. Announcements were not properly made"
Pros: "Same as above One more note. On the outbound flight of this trip we had a three hour delay in Rekyavik as they repaired the plane. We were disappointed but not angry at this delay because nobody wants to fly an unsafe plane. But communication during that period was poor."

I rated the boarding ok because the issue wasn't Iceland Air but the airport. They gave me an arrival card, but no pen or pencil or anything to write with."

Boarding was delayed with no communication from the crew as we all stood at the gate waiting for instructions."

Cons: "I didn't like the fact that one has to pay for any refreshments on the flight, even for coffee, juice, or soda. When I asked for water, the flight attendant assumed that I wanted to pay for bottled water; I had to specify that I wanted regular water."
Cons: "The credit/debit card machine didn't work on half the cards. It took about an hour for anyone to get food or a drink. The staff was more preoccupied with selling things than picking up the rubbish. It only takes a minute to walk down the aisle collecting cups and bottles. Some people never did have their items collected before the three hour flight ended."

You pay a premium for Business class and granted, the meal was great, something the Coach class did not get BUT they should tell you when booking that that you are sitting in coach with a table blocking the middle seat, not truly a Business class seat. Dumb down your operations but don't insult your customers. Tell them what they are getting when booking a bus type business class seat. Worst business practice ever, driven by European style of travel BUT call it premium economy, not BUSINESS."

They should cut out the extras and spend the savings on better starters and mains."

The crew was asked 3 times for help and their response was "you will be fine". We were not fine also the security crew at Heathrow was incredibly slow and there were 3 standing around talking and one very slow very rude lady going through bags which caused us also to be delayed and have to run to catch connecting flight to SF just barely made it - totally unacceptable."
