Flights from Europe to the United States: the best tips from KAYAK users

Insights shared by verified travelers who flew the route from Europe to the United States

Not specific to this flight or Iberia specifically, but general advice for any long-haul flight: Bring headphones (ideally noise-cancelling) that have a wired connection and a 2.5mm jack if you want to use the in-flight entertainment system so you don't have to rely on the cheap, hot-garbage headsets airlines give out for free. Plus noise-cancelling headphones are a blessing if you have the misfortune of being seated near a screaming baby!

Make sure to tell your taxi driver the terminal you are flying out of from Dublin. My taxi driver only asked me what airline and apparently there are more than one terminal for Aer Lingus. Also go extra early when flying to the US because you go through customs while in Dublin and do not have to do it when you land in the US. As far as Aer Lingus they were amazing!!!
Verified travelerFlew with American Airlines-Jul 2026
Loved my flights with British airways and American Airlines. Be aware of long walking commute at Heathrow if you come from other airport. I found that a challenge. I had not asked for a wheelchair because I can walk but it's a long commute when carrying a heavy bag. Wished there were more travelators/moving walkways available at Heathrow. Otherwise very easy and very pleasant airport. Comfortable waiting areas at gates.
Verified travelerFlew with SWISS-Jul 2026
The Swiss are very efficient with passport control. They have devised a system which is quick and helpful. It would help tourists if they could explain their system so tourists know what to do in advance of reaching the airport. We had a very short connection. Our son’s had travelled that same way the day before and It was because of our his explanation that we could make our flight.
Verified travelerFlew with Scandinavian Airlines-Aug 2026
Connection flight in Copenhagen was only 50 minutes but the airport staff was already informed. It was easy to reach out to the staff and to be escorted to the passport control for a rapid transfer. Flights in Copenhagen seem to be on time.
Daniel C.Flew with Scandinavian Airlines-Aug 2026
Go for PE if you have some money. You can also then bid in an auction for any available business class seats, which is nice. Bring your own headphones the ones they hand out basically do not work.
Verified travelerFlew with Azores Airlines-Jun 2026
Ponta Delgada is a small airport but some food/drink options available. Make sure to get food/snacks before boarding AND bring some kind of entertainment, download a book or show in your personal device.
Verified travelerFlew with Aer Lingus-Jun 2026
Was happy we did have allowance for 1 carry on and 1 checked bag per person. Ensure the airline you select has access to WiFi and entertainment cause it’s a long flight!
CaraFlew with Lufthansa-Jun 2026
Always give yourself 2 hours when going through Frankfurt and have your passport ready at all times. You will have to show it multiple times.
Juan GFlew with Air France-Jun 2026
Due to the excess of hand luggage, the airlines are offering to take it at no cost. What provides a lot of comfort.
ShaunFlew with British Airways-Jun 2026
Take a private boat to the airport. Its the best way to leave Venice.

PaulFlew with Icelandair-Jul 2026
First if you are traveling from Europe to the US or UK be prepared with your patience to get through the passport control and know you have quite a walk ahead of you once you get through. Second: Prepare for the bus if going to US. The D terminal is like a bus station, limited seating and more of a set up to huddle groups together in order to climb on bus that will drive you out to your plain which involves rambling up stairs with your carry ons. Third, if flying Icelandic bring food and drink unless you are in Sage/Business class. All items are ala carte and you need to ask a steward for them.
MAFlew with ITA Airways-Jul 2026
If you are traveling with a pet, patience is highly recommended. The airport staff appeared to be unfamiliar with the documentation and procedures required for passengers traveling with an in-cabin animal, resulting in multiple calls to colleagues and supervisors for clarification on the necessary paperwork. While the staff was ultimately helpful, better training and clearer guidance on pet travel requirements would make the process much smoother and more efficient for passengers.
Verified travelerFlew with Aer Lingus-Jul 2026
I have only flown Aer Lingus from DUB to the states. It's a call that doesn't disappoint. Be aware that bag drop-off and check-in counters at Terminal 2 close 75 min before the flight, and you have to undergo extra security when flying to the US.
MaxeyFlew with American Airlines-Aug 2026
Compare American with Delta and United. Be prepared to allow for extra time to pass through U.S. customs in Dublin. The upside is that you walk straight into the terminal at DFW, and don't have to do customs there.
Verified travelerFlew with Austrian Airlines-Jul 2026
Don’t count on a top class experience in the Austrian business lounge. It was underwhelming. The security lines for economy travels were a bit long. Give yourself an extra 15 minutes if traveling economy.
Verified travelerFlew with Turkish Airlines-Jul 2026
Wear comfortable clothing and bring noise canceling headphones. Lots of screaming babies. Flight attendants are nice but the flight itself is very long and uncomfortable. Opt for an isle seat if possible
KirraFlew with Aer Lingus-Jul 2026
Grab any food or snacks before going through the US preclearance. There are a few vending machines and a restaurant after but its very limited selection.
GinaFlew with ITA Airways-Jul 2026
We had to take a bus to the plane and get on from the tarmack. Just leave enough time to get through that process too.
ManyiFlew with British Airways-Jun 2026
London airport is huge - it took be an hour to transfer from one gate to another gate in the same terminal. Plan accordingly.

Very strict on weights for hand luggage and sizes. Would fly again and just plan to check a bag

Come to airport early when leaving from Dublin
mary kayFlew with United Airlines-Jul 2026
Make sure you get to the airport three hours early in Athens the security lines are a nightmare. They are pulling other airlines out of the line ahead of you. They are pulling other passport types out of the lines ahead of you. You will stand there forever, no matter what clearances you have. Avoid Chicago airport at all cost. The place is falling down. They are elevators are out of order a few elevators that they have have lines so long that you will never get through before your flight takes off. People with carts of luggage are trying to get on the elevators with the handicap. It is a total zoo and if the temperature is 95°, the Air Conditioner can only cool to 89°. No you’re going to sweat to death.
CherieFlew with British Airways-Jul 2026
Do not transit Madrid. Maybe it is fine as a aa final or starting point for non-stop flights but it is a nightmare for making connecting legs of a flight. Literally people were held up in multiple immigration lines and missed connections. 2 people had to get off our plane after boarding because other members of their party could not make it through all the transit lines in time. Why are people just transiting made to wait in a 3rd passport control line to leave Spain while only transiting??? Connection times need to take that into account.
BudFlew with Delta-Jun 2026
Boston is one of the most difficult airports to navigate when returning from overseas. A long walk thru the overseas terminal E to customs, then after waiting in the line to clear customs, you have to retrieve your checked bag and take another long walk to the domestic checked bag location. Then you have another loooong walk to the domestic terminal (A or C) for your connecting flight. A bus is provided, but they are infrequent and often too crowded to board. All in all, you need about 90 minutes between flight (minimum!)
BrianFlew with American Airlines-Aug 2026
Do not sit in the aisle seats with no seat in front of you. We sat in a 3 seat row with a two seat row in front of us. The person that sits on the aisle is basically the cart stopper, since the food carts are basically using that person’s knee to guide and stop the food cart. Also passengers going to and from the bathrooms are constantly bumping into you and stepping on your feet.
Verified travelerFlew with SWISS-Aug 2026
Plan enough time at Zurich. The procedure at the airport, especially boarding is very chaotic. No signs telling passengers to get in line to get your documents checked a second time before you get in line for boarding. Lines were all over the place with approximately 200 people,, others trying to cut through. Airport staff not controlling the situation.
Verified travelerFlew with TAP AIR PORTUGAL-Aug 2026
If you are upgrading your flight, MAKE SURE that you speak with someone at a ticket counter or baggage check-in counter to make sure that they know your same bags are connected to the upgraded ticket, otherwise they will lose your luggage like they did mine!
Verified travelerFlew with British Airways-Jul 2026
I still prefer BA for London-Boston but all services, especially food, have been declining over the years. Boston has some of the longest walks in Terminal E. Small carts like they have in many European airports would do a lot to help especially senior passengers.
EDFlew with American Airlines-Jul 2026
Expect a bad cushion to sit on so maybe buy something to sit on. Bring food because although you get food it’s not that good. Hopefully you’re not delayed because no one will tell you why and you won’t know until the day of
CindyFlew with British Airways-Aug 2026
Make sure you allow at least two, if not three or four, hours between flights in large international airports. There are security checks and terminal changes that eat up time. Don't fly though Heathrow if you can at all help it!!
divyaFlew with Lufthansa-Jul 2026
Be prepared to walk a lot, up and down the stairs with your baggage. Don’t choose Lufthansa if you’re transit time is less than 3 hours because anything less than 3 hours is not enough especially with kids.
GabrielaFlew with Scandinavian Airlines-Jun 2026
Go very early to go through customs. very stressful otherwise. Next time i will give myself 3-4 hours as lines were ridiculously long at Copenhagen airport
Verified travelerFlew with Condor-Jul 2026

Verified travelerFlew with Aer Lingus-Apr 2026
Very convenient to do US immigration before the gate.
RobertaFlew with United Airlines-Mar 2026
If flying from Paris to SFO, I would recommend if you are not familiar with either terminal to do some research: CDG is very well organized for signage and helpful general customer service. SFO is not as well organized for signs, and the people who work there (at least upon the returning/customs area) don't seem as cheerful. The TSA agents at SFO were super nice to us when we departed! Their French counterparts are not as pleasant - they are really pushing hard to get you through security. So, again, familiarize yourself as much as possible with the different systems to herd you through to your plane and getting in and out of the terminals, and you will probably have a better experience. I recommend looking at online videos and terminal maps, along with transportation options.
Verified travelerFlew with British Airways-May 2026
We were going to Dublin, with a layover in London. Because our return layover was 18hrs long, we were required to attain a "UK Visa", which included downloading an app, uploading images of our paperwork, and paying an extra fee. The app was finicky and hard to please, and we had to scramble to do it in the airport lobby. If you have a long layover in London, even though you are heading to a different country, be aware and complete this before arriving at the airport, to save time and stress. It somehow slipped our awareness, but we could not check in without the special visa.
Verified travelerFlew with Icelandair-Mar 2026
Be sure to dress warmly when leaving Reykjavik!! --Especially during the Winter months! Did noticed an enclosed overhead ladder(though still required us to be outdoors to board) was used yesterday . Hopefully someday Reykjavik would be able to have more concourses gates

If continuing from LAX on SkyWest, be prepared for a long walk followed by a bus transfer, and get your necessities before you leave the main terminal areas.

Verified travelerFlew with Condor-May 2026
Be sure to be there early. Lots of long lines especially for flights to the US from Frankfurt, due to security.

Flight connections can be risky with a 2:45-hour gap. Be aware that the Houston airport is very busy.

Go through passport control as early as you can. The wait was very long and people nearly missed the flight.
AidanFlew with Icelandair-Mar 2026

Budget time for new European automated screening. Most passengers had to screen manually and it took time.

Verified travelerFlew with Lufthansa-May 2026
I didn’t receive email with the reminder to check in 24 hours before the flight. It would be helpful to get reminders to check in and emails with info/updates with the gate number. I do appreciate emails confirming that the luggage was dropped off. It’s disappointing that it’s impossible to choose a seat without having to pay a free. The check on luggage free is quite high too. It’s Unfortunate airlines charge to check in a luggage.
BruceFlew with Icelandair-Mar 2026
Prepare your own food. During 8 hours of flight, they don't five any snacks nor meal. You have to buy everything, including soft drinks. Choices of sandwiches is only 2 and very pricey. I never experience that you have to buy meal for the long flight.
Verified travelerFlew with Condor-May 2026
Condor sucks and Frankfurt is a nightmare get there real early
ChakaFlew with British Airways-Jan 2026
LHR is a good airport to fly from and I would suggest booking an airport longue if you are in transit for a few hours to make the long flight comfortable
Verified travelerFlew with United Airlines-Feb 2026
Purchase a face mask device that fastens to the headrest that keeps your head supported. You will sleep better and avoid shoulder, neck, and back psin if flying basic economy.

All went smoothly for the return fligh from KEF to BOS. Take advantage of the duty free which has some prices better than in the city!

ShengFlew with Aer Lingus-Jan 2026
Aer Lingus agent booked us a 1-stop reservation via Air Canada to replace our original 2nd leg flight to LAX. I was surprised to discover the new trip only has the 2nd part in the Air Canada system, 1 day before the departure time. I spoke to the ticketing agent again, who really made her efforts to confirm a new reservation for our big group of travelers. I was not happy about the surprise, which can be of a very rare situation, while at the same time I do appreciate the agent's effort to help us get back home ASAP. Lesson learned: even with a printed itinerary, you still need to double check on the carrier website to be sure.
Verified travelerFlew with Air Europa-Feb 2026
For long-haul flights, I would suggest providing complimentary earphones instead of charging for them, as well as offering basic amenities such as an eye mask. The meal service could be improved by using proper dishware rather than cardboard packaging and plastic cutlery. If chicken or meat is served, it would be more convenient if it is pre-cut, considering the limited seat space which makes it difficult to cut food comfortably. In addition, the cabin crew should routinely check the restrooms to ensure cleanliness and that toilet paper is always available.
Verified travelerFlew with Aer Lingus-Dec 2025
Dublin Airport has US Preclearance, meaning you go through US Customs and Immigration before boarding your flight. If you're connecting through Dublin, this can catch you off guard. You'll need to clear passport control twice between gates, so plan extra time for short layovers.
Verified travelerFlew with Turkish Airlines-Jan 2026
Don’t board the aircraft empty stomach. Bring some food with you because you won’t get any food served for a quiet a while

BobbieFlew with TAP AIR PORTUGAL-Dec 2025
To definitely go to the airport more than 3 hours ahead of your flight time because Lisbon airport js very poorly designed with no self checking devices and shortage of staff to assist you. Long long lines for going through security, 3 hours or so just for that. Many flights were missed because of that so go at least 5 hours before your flight to be able to make it
Verified travelerFlew with ITA Airways-Jan 2026
Be prepared for unintentional mistakes and rudeness due to the language barrier. If you’re on the taller, broader side, there will be 13 hours of discomfort with smaller seating and very tight bathrooms. The food is unsatisfactory so bring supplements.
JulieFlew with British Airways-Nov 2025
Make sure that you verify that if you have a code share flight, that you DOUBLE/TRIPLE CHECK which counter to check in at. I booked a British Airways flight operated by American Airlines. The BA flight counter was closed until an hour prior to my departure, it was really AA that I needed to check in at. The people around the airport are helpful and speak English beautifully so just ask! Also, the security point is IMMEDIATELY before only 2 gates, so keep in mind for buying food/drink. There's also a very relaxing lounge with reclined seats prior to the security checkpoint, it's free/open.
PeteFlew with ITA Airways-Nov 2025
“Comfort economy” is worth it. Noise cancelling headphones/earbuds are important, along with an eye mask.
Verified travelerFlew with Lufthansa-Nov 2025
Pack a jacket since you need to deplane in the open to get a shuttle to main airport
Verified travelerFlew with Lufthansa-Nov 2025
Be prepared for very long distances to the gates.
Verified travelerFlew with American Airlines-Jun 2025
Boarding was easy, organized and moved quickly at Heathrow. Flying premium economy is worth it on the longer flights. More leg room and no checked bag fees to pay. You may order your meals 30 days in advance. One also gets a comfort bag at each seat that includes a blanket, small neck pillow, and toiletry kit with toothpaste, toothbrush, socks, lotion, eye mask. Very handy on those long flights! Bring a light weight jacket or sweater as night flights can be cooler than day flights. Be polite and smile as the crew try their best to keep you safe and comfortable.
Verified travelerFlew with Scandinavian Airlines-Jun 2025
Copenhagen is really laid back. Plenty of space at the gate. However, not a lot of shops. They have a self serve 7-Eleven! So, if you have the time and are hungry, eat before you go through to the gate.
Verified travelerFlew with British Airways-Jun 2025
I wish I'd known that there were food and shopping opportunities at the B gate area. This was a lovely, NOT busy place to spend time. I'd have gone directly there if I'd known. Definitely a nice place to wait.

The Lisbon airport traffic was such that I could not get an Uber to the airport. Take that into account or use the Metro which is cheap, easy and quick. I also found Lisbon Airport to be more difficult to progress through than JFK. I had thought JFK was difficult but once cleared through the TSA screening your in . Lisbon seemed to have more layers of difficulty.
TimFlew with Aer Lingus-Jul 2025
Check your bags if traveling to the US if included / possible. It was a long walk for the flight connection and we did US customs and immigration in Dublin, not Boston, which was a first for us.

"If you're flying from Istanbul to Chicago, here are some tips to keep in mind: 1. *Choose a comfortable airline*: I recommend flying with Turkish Airlines or United Airlines, as they offer a relatively smooth and efficient boarding process. 2. *Be prepared for long flight*: The flight from Istanbul to Chicago can take around 10-11 hours, so make sure to bring entertainment, snacks, and comfortable clothing. 3. *Take advantage of in-flight amenities*: Both Turkish Airlines and United Airlines offer a range of in-flight amenities, including meals, drinks, and entertainment. 4. *Plan for jet lag*: Chicago is 8 hours behind Istanbul, so plan accordingly and try to adjust your sleep schedule before arrival. As for the boarding process, I found Turkish Airlines to be particularly comfortable and efficient. They offer: - *Priority boarding*: For passengers with special needs or priority status. - *Efficient queue management*: Turkish Airlines uses a well-organized queue system to minimize waiting times. - *Friendly staff*: The flight attendants and ground staff are always helpful and welcoming. Overall, with some planning and preparation, you can have a comfortable and enjoyable flight from Istanbul to Chicago!"

Get to Rome airport a bit early. The lines for passport control can be long if you have a US passport. The signage can be confusing, but once you figure it out it is easy. Staff at Rome airport are very good and the lines were not bad there. Just security and passport control.
MichelleFlew with Aer Lingus-May 2025
Make sure you arrive well ahead of the flight. We were lucky that security lines were pretty short but they could be very long and you do US customs and security in Dublin.
Verified travelerFlew with British Airways-Mar 2025

RachelFlew with PLAY-Mar 2025
Both airports are smaller and well marked for where to go. They were both fairly easy to navigate.
Verified travelerFlew with Delta-Mar 2025
KLM handles the boarding for Delta in Amsterdam. The boarding is a two steps process . First , their security will check the passport one more time , then KKM checks the boarding pass. It makes for a slow and unnecessarily tedious process. In the other hand , this is a direct flight to Detroit so the convenience of no layover may make it a worthwhile consideration.
Verified travelerFlew with Turkish Airlines-May 2025
We got in line for passport control instead of going to the transfer section after arriving from Zagreb and wasted precious time. We wish there were obvious signs to show transfer passengers where to go. (Maybe we missed the signs?) The food was delicious and the crew were excellent.
Verified travelerFlew with Lufthansa-Apr 2025
Allow lots of extra time at the airport in Frankfurt - get there three hours before your flight instead of two. We barely made the flight with 2 1/2. Expect that your carry on luggage will need to be checked and that you will pay $60-70 per bag.

SherylFlew with ITA Airways-May 2025
I would not recommend ITA unless you are sitting in business class. All of the upgraded ITA seats lack lumbar support and are in poor condition. I would also recommend that unless you are ending your trip in Nee York or a close by location, that you not stop in New York on your way to a longer distance destination because the delay time can be very long. My delay was 4hrs, 45mins even though I only needed to fly to Washington DC Dulles from New York.
Verified travelerFlew with British Airways-May 2025
Gate assignments are made shortly before boarding and each letter dedicated terminal group is separated by a long walk or a crowded rail ride. The metro ride between the terminals and the city can be complicated if you go in with no research. We consider ourselves capable people but Londons rail system is a mess to get a grasp of.
Verified travelerFlew with Norse Atlantic Airways-Apr 2025

Know that gates are posted just about an hour before takeoff and it takes a bit of time to actually get to the gate. If you make a mistake there is no train back- you have to walk to the correct area and that are at least 10 minutes apart. Make sure to have ALL liquids ready to place in the tray at TSA

Be aware that checked in bags are EUR70 per bag. You can board the plane via stairs either at the front or back. I thought the experience was ok a 13 hour flight

Bring your own food. Chicago airport is extremely large....we walked nearly 4000 steps from landing to customs....very difficult for people over 70 years old.

Be prepared for the running race. The airport is big and confusing. Just follow the boards but not shortcuts.

Expect to walk up the stairs on the plane as the ponta drlgado has no air bridge

Take the 10.40 flight not the 14.30 as it took nearly 2 hours to clear Orlando airport as there weren’t many immigration staff on duty - when i did it last year I breezed through at the earlier time

Make sure you include extra time to pass through US Border Control if you’re flying to the US! Also Aer Lingus bag drop closes 75 mins before flight departure for long haul so bear that in mind!

Save up and go 1st class and please be aware you stand in line for Munich customs over 1 hour. The customs in Denver wasn’t that bad. There was a long line but they moved you through fairly quickly. I wouldn’t advise economy even after you upgrade your seat. It’s too cramped for such a long flight. I was miserable. It was a United A380 plane. I was bumped back to row 15.
SunnyFlew with Turkish Airlines-Nov 2024
Turkish lounge is so good, however receptionists are anything but receptive: they were inattentive and rude x 4 Airport is very large for a tight international transfer if inbound flight is 30 min late

The AA website states that the cost for luggage is $45 for transatlantic flights. Encourage them to call for the actual cost as I was charged $70EU for each bag.

The plane was a rather tired 737-800, with old style small luggage bins. Poor air flow. USB charger in the infotainment system was not functioning. The flight was 2 hours late due to crew rest requirements (not their fault). On arrival in Seattle, waited on the tarmac for 30 minutes with very few updates from the crew.

Delta off boarded and boarded the aircraft quickly. Clean cabin and great gate and onboard service.

Flight was delayed and we were on the runway after landing for 30 mins

We were delayed so pilots can rest and had no WiFi the whole trip. First class seats are small compared to other planes

The experience was bad. Flight was delayed to handle maintenance (understandable) but still there was some dew forming and dropping as droplets on few seats. Internet at best was allowing some browsing but at a snail pace.

We were delayed 2 hours because of a broken seat. Other than that it was a very nice flight.

There needs to be better accommodations for waiting passengers. A a designated standing space that is separated and away from concourse traffic.

My seats are comfortable because I choose to fly in the exit rows and this time upgraded to first class with minimum sky miles. Otherwise, I would not be happy in regular seats or even middle comfort seats. Onboarding on the return flight from Nashville to Atlanta was hot and very uncomfortable for over 30 minutes due to extreme hot weather. However, Delta should provide some other air flow option as it was almost unbearable until 10 minutes after take-off. First class seats should be equipped with cup holders. Currently, the middle console is used and is flat and prone to spilling drinks.

Delta was fine though my flight was delayed 4 hours into LGA and my return into ORD involved a taxi of 1+ hour to the gate

wifi too slow or would not connect and entertainment kept on freezing

Crew attendants attention to the travelers. Good food. I always fly with Turkish Airlines

Tv didn’t work and left the gate late but everything else was perfect.

Again poor use of old aircraft and old business class seats that show there age.

Service and food were very good, I liked it a lot. I liked the little gifts we all got , but I don’t think I’d fly on Turkish airlines to go to New York from Istanbul or from New York to Instanbul anymore. Flight is way too long.

We liked the comfort and seats. The crew was not very friendly nor did they check on us to see if we needed anything. Had to ask for water several times

The rules regarding business class lounge hotel/room access were very confusing. Between flights we had an 11 hour layover in Istanbul, but were denied a room to rest as our layover was too long?? Keep in mind that we arrived there at 3:30am after a long flight. Even multiple Turkish airlines employees were inconsistent with the rules. We ended up paying a high price at the Yotel in the airport in order to get some rest. Good thing I did, as a medical emergency was declared on the flight from Istanbul to Atlanta and I was apparently the only physician on board. Luckily I was able to stabilize the passenger and the flight wasn't diverted. The crew called an overhead announcement for a medical doctor, but insisted that I show them a copy of my medical license which I did. Very strange in my 35 years as a physician and responding multiple times to inflight medical emergencies over the years. I was very glad the passengers issue was resolved, but an acknowledgement of at least a thank you from the crew would have been appreciated.

I wasn't able to bring my little dog with me, because of the feedback team's extremely slow response. How are they even allowed to operate with this paste??

The sleeper seats, the staff, and the food was truly delicious. I loved the mocktail options.

Great service. Seat was a bit small but it was fine. Food was great

Horrible service at the baggage claim. Stuck on plane for an hour due to taxing and no gate.

I truely appreciate all services. I was highly impressed and will not hesitate to recommend United Airlines to friends and family. The AVML was perfect.

Flight did not have wifi service. It was experiencing technical difficulties. Definitely and old plane that needs updating.

Very Poor. Significant delays getting to Chicago and then very poor communication on delays in Chicago to Cleveland. We could have rented a car and driven there faster than the delays ended up being.

ok, butt flght was delyed for 2,5h from Frankfurt, and next Flight to Columbuse same

The app logs you out right when you are boarding requiring all passwords and reservation number for the flight. Super annoying

The pre-order only approach for fresh food is really challenging

Very kind Lufthansa agent somehow gave us all no charge extra business class seats and helped us get home rested and happy.

The lounge was not accessible because it was located before the passport control, and backtracking was impossible.

Flight was great. Almost miss my connecting flight due to late departure from Haneda. Had to run all through airport in Chicago to make the flight. Experience was great for 1st time flyers using ANA Airlines.

the seat has a problem. the back had a hole.

I have very bad experience with United because Vince two weeks that I did not receive my luggage yet

the blanket was great and pillow helped. really need a toothpick packed with meals

I was never able to use this flight. I booked my flight through KAYAK, using cheapfaresflights, and the agency did not book the ticket correctly. When I went to check in for my flight in Rome, my details had changed. My name was incorrect , and the itinerary was not what I had paid for. I was unable to board the flight and I had to purchase a second ticket at considerable expense. Unfortunately, no one at KAYAK or Cheapfaresflights was able to help me. They both shifted the blame on United Airlines, United Airlines was able to provide me a full detail that the error occurred on the travel agencies side. I consider this fraud and will pursue it further.

This was the worst flight of my life. Economy seat directly behind a premium economy seat with extra recline meant I have about 6 inches between my face and their chair. My seat would not recline at all. I couldn't even use my laptop on the tray table because I had so little room. I was in a casket basically for 10 hours. Completely unacceptable.

Very comfortable plane. The food was very good (for airplane food). The crew was great

I liked the flight, the attendants, and the comfort. But the gate for boarding was poor. Even the elderly had to climb down many many steps to the bus and climb up to the plane.

Cancelled 90 min AFTER Departure! We had to deplane and wait another hour plus for the flight to be shown as cancelled for the customer service team. There were many many angry customers.

Good and they are leaving at time and arriving on time

Horrible airport ever. We stood in the security check line for more than an hour. It was past boarding time and we were still waiting in line for the security check. With 2 children and a medically ill person we had a very stressful transit.

Boarding was weird. They boarded two flights at the same gate at the same time. So mass confusion for the non English/French speakers. So many people at such a small gate. Like every other part of this airport you have to walk miles between everything. Gate to plane was a 5 min walk :) several long flights so I was worried about my steps but ended up walking several miles here so worked out.

OK. Needed more information on baggage details with different airlines and airport baggage pickup Also, it appeared they offered free WiFi on their info publications but none did.

Great until k found out they never got my check bags onto the plane.

It was pretty decent mostly cause I have leg room.

The first leg of our booked flight was severely delayed, and by the time I could get to an agent to see about re-booking, it was impossible to arrive in time to board for the final leg to Reykjavik. We were flown by American Airlines to Heathrow but didn't arrive in time to take the British Airways flight. BA only flies once a day to Reykjavik, so we had to purchase an absurdly expensive flight through Icelandair out of Gatwick to arrive in time for an excursion that started at 9 a.m. the next day. Our luggage got lost in the meantime and wasn't found for several days.

God food! Although some of the snacks were not to my taste. Nice amenities in premium economy made for a comfortable flight. The pilot was able to make up about half the time we were delayed in the ground (we were delayed over an hour before takeoff due to a shortage of tugs) Nice movie selection for entertainment. We were last to board the second leg of our flight due to.complications during transfer from the first flight of our trip, but did manage to board in time. We really enjoyed the video presentation for flight safety. Hilarious gets your attention! Really nice, sufficient accommodations for overhead storage, didn't seem crowded or jam packed. I enjoyed being able to track the flight on my monitor. I was disappointed that there wasn't free WiFi during the flight, I thought that was a complimentary service but you had to pay extra. It felt like we were nickled and dimed on that one.

That airplane is the most uncomfortable I’ve ever flown! Flight 267 LON-PDX Aug 10, 26 The middle armrests didn’t go up all the way. The aisle arm rest didn’t raise at all. The leg room area was compromised by a large metal box on both exterior seats. The headrests didn’t flatten. We got an email apologizing for no WiFi, but on the plane we’re told there would be WiFi. I never got it to connect. Pre-boarding support was great. Boarding was smooth. Crew was great. Food was DELICIOUS. A different plane would have resulted in a much better score.

Lovely attentive staff and even though take off was a tiny bit late, the pilot landed us early in PHX. Smooth easy journey and good touchdown.

This flight was OK, and about as good as a long-haul economy flight gets. The Good: * I was seated in a row with my family; * There was (just) enough space in the overhead bins for our luggage; * The cabin never got too hot; * The meal and beverage service was decent, and included all-metal cutlery; * The entertainment was good; * The cabin attendants were friendly and helpful. * Immigration control at JFK was a breeze -- all we had to do was get our photos taken, and we were through! Presumably this was because Madrid shared all our information with JFK in advance, but we were out of the airport within about 10 or 15 mins of getting off the plane, which is by far the fastest I have ever got out of JFK! The Bad: * We flew economy, so of course the seats were tiny and it was very cramped; * The seats were also hard -- I had a sore butt by the end, despite using the provided cushion; * The cabin got a bit too cold at one point (although I MUCH prefer this to cabins that are too hot), and Iberia also provided a blanket.

Online check-in not available from Istanbul to Las Vegas. The check-in process at the airport was extremely and inefficient period. Took us over an hour to check in. Besides that, everything else about British Airways was good

My screen didn't work for the first 9.5 hours of the flight. The crew could not resolve. I don't watch much media so I had been really excited to relax and watch a BBC special but couldn't. Then I tried to use the online streaming on my devices - that never worked but I do have about 7 charges on my credit card that I now have to dispute with BA. Pretty annoying. Also, they ran out of meals and they served meals that had a serve by date of 1/26. But the staff were all very friendly and helpful when they could help.
