Food was very mediocre. Economy is pretty uncomfortable. Crew was excellent and responsive.
Good experience for economy transpacific. Reasonable comfortable seats. Food was not as good as I expected or had on other prior transpacific flights but likely attribute that to rising cost of supplies. Staff is courteous. Overall, very good.
I traveled business class from Lax to Narita flight Jl61. The crew was attentive and polite. Food was good quality and service was as it should be. Narita to Bengaluru Jl753was another story in business class. The cabin was darkened for the 9hr:30min flight, food was mediocre, service was below standard and crew can't speak English to save their lives. When you ask for noodles soup from Ala carte they gave cup of noodles while Lax to Narita i was served the best Ramen noodles in a big bowl. Why the disparity on this leg of the journey.....or is it because there were mostly Indian passengers and it really did not matter to Jal to bother as its a poor country and Indians refrain from speaking up? A good airline but differentiation like this brings their reputation and business down.
highly recommend for trip to japan only reason why i gave good not excellent is because their selection of movies and tv shows in English is more limited .
Overall a great experience. One complain was the vegetarian food that my wife had which was mostly boiled vegetables with not much flavor.
We booked business class round trip from Delhi to San Diego and back. On our last leg from Bangalore to Delhi we were down graded to economy class which was big disappointment other than that everything was great.
A great flight experience - great seats, lots of ROOM for legs & in the aisle. Great attendants! My flight cost me the same as ZipAir, the website was WAY less confusing & wonky - this will be my 1st choice for my next Japan trip. Very pleased / well cared for.
Underpricer was terrible. They wanted to charge me $150 for a seat asignment. Kayak is responsible for letting this happen. Please let me know if this is going to happen in the future. If it is i will not use kayak in the future.
Checking in was hard because we had to enter our middle name with our first name and wasn’t told to. The representative from underpricer investigated it and called me back. We were very appreciative for him.

When I checked in, it printed two bag tags. The helper said they would cancel the other. They canceled both and my bag was left behind

I originally thought I was booking with ANA airlines and didn't see "operated by United" until the day of. I even thought the United check-in update was a scam so ended up checking in 3 hours before the flight, causing separate seating and uncomfortable middle seats.
Excellent crew, food and comfort from LA to Narita. Flight from Narita to Manila was just okay, Food and comfort needs to improve. The business class was not comfortable.
I would prefer to fly with Japanese airlines over American ones. They have better food and service overall
The crew was very nice and polite. They made sure everybody got their meal and drinks. Even the economy class had a very adequate leg room for someone that is over 6 foot tall.
ANA gave me an amazing experience. They are very good with customer service.
The crew was amazing, really friendly and efficient. One of the best flights I have ever been on. They made the long flight comfortable and I noticed there were two birthdays on the flight. They gave to customers birthday cards and wished them a happy birthday. That was very nice to see.
Crew attitude was poor. Crew announced 3 meal options and by the time they got to our row, they just handed us pork without asking because there was nothing left. Food quality was also quite poor. Drink service was simply “any drinks?” And did not list any options. My leg was slightly in the aisle while I was asleep and crew hit it hard with the cart. One crew member was audibly complaining when we landed because we did not have a jetway. Avoid American Airlines in USA to Japan routes. Fly ANA or JAL, and you won’t face the humiliation you would on American Airlines.

As a physician and business owner who frequently coordinates group travel, this was one of the worst airline experiences I have encountered. Upon arrival, I was informed that my check-in boarding pass was not official, despite successfully obtaining it electronically through your website/app with no warnings or indications of issues. My electronic boarding pass was rejected, leading to cancellation/denial of boarding. The gate agent (an older woman) was unhelpful, claimed my name had been announced multiple times (which it had not—she did not even know my name correctly), and mistakenly boarded my traveling companion under my name. Additionally, an older blonde staff member nearly failed to return my passport, highlighting a clear lack of training on your check-in and boarding systems. This chaos forced me onto a later flight while my group waited in Canada, unable to check into our Airbnb or pick up rental cars (as I was the primary booker). The entire incident caused significant business disruption, stress, and additional expenses. I have flown Alaska Airlines previously but will not consider it again without resolution. I request: • Full reimbursement of any additional costs incurred. • Appropriate compensation (vouchers/miles) for the inconvenience and poor service. • Confirmation of corrective actions for Please respond within 7-10 business days. A solidly good experience, but would’ve appreciated more communication with regards to travel delays.
The plane not having any overhead bin space was inconvenient. Anytime my luggage has to be checked it ends up covered in scratches and that’s not covered by the airlines for replacement/repair. The WiFi did not work or was not offered for the flight from Seattle to Vancouver.
The seats were not very comfortable and there were no TV screens. Boarding was pretty fast because there were so few people on such a small plane and I appreciated that they still gave us our snack and drinks, however I really wish they would come up with a good gluten-free snack.

I would like you let you know that my booking never confirmed, yet I was charged for the insurance fee and cannot get it back even though I have an email stating g that the booking didn’t confirm. I have been getting the run around.
Our flight experience started at the check in kiosk. Jennifer Polete smf 498304 greeted us and assisted us with our tags and check in guidance. She was so pleasant, helpful and friendly. This was the start of my experience with American Airlines and it made such a wonderful impression. The staff on the airplane were also kind, courteous, and attentive. I would definitely fly American Airlines again

I was promised by United Airline (operated by ANA) that I will be seated together with my kids as I am the only adult flying with two minors. We did not get seats together in our 11 hours flight from LA to Tokyo. When asked at the gate, ANA representative said United Airline should have informed them that there is a parent flying with two minors. He said they can’t do anything in the system as the flight is full. He ask me to ask passengers next to me and the kids if they are willing to change seats. This is ridiculous! However, I went in the flight and asked other passages but no one willing to change seats. 11 hours and we were seating separately. I was very disappointed with this. It made things super inconvenient for me.
It's a long flight and I would have liked better snacks between lunch and the arrival meal. It's fine to have fruit and nuts but I really don't like ramen because it's salty junk soup. I'd suggest sandwiches. They're not expensive nor are they hard to store for a long flight. The FA's had a couple of big services and they were super busy preparing, executing and then cleaning up. Then they disappeared.
The 777’s economy seat’s legroom was more tolerable than expected. I appreciate the reclining mechanism which slides the seat forward to minimize cannibalizing the space behind. The food was terrible: very salty.

The crew made our experience extremely bad. They were rude and didn’t have anything for kids.
Check-in and in-flight staff were better than average. The seat was a fair size but too hard and not enough padding. The cushion/pillow provided is poor (thin and seems to be disposable ,it provides no effective cushioning or support). Food was OK-ish but no choice of inflight snacks and no easy place to get drinks other than water (I could ask for juice by intruding into the staff area at the back of the plane) Entertainment was very good actually. Overall better than I expected from a US-based airline (sorry!) but compared to ANA or Singapore it was so-so. (I live in Japan so they are my comparative airlines)
For economy, it was very good. Staff was great, they even let some of us change seats for more leg room... Put an empty seat between us which was fantastic for a 12hr flight. Onboard entertainment was excellent, I think over 200 choices of movies/tv/etc The bad was the barely/nonfunctional wifi that cost either $16.99 or 1700 miles (full flight). It was atrocious... Definitely the worst of the last 3 long haul major airlines I was on the last few months.
