Make sure you know the baggage rules, don’t bring more than you need, and if you get a rental car, know that people target them for break-ins. Never leave anything in your car. Going in for a snack? Take your bags. Basically, drive to your hotel, take the bags out immediately and put them in your room, and try to leave nothing in the car ever. It’s not always this bad, but they spot rentals from a mile away. Be smart, be safe.
PeterFlew with Air CanadaSep 2024
Etihad is a market leader in every category. It’s too bad they generally don’t fly out of Canada (except for SE Asia/ME/Asia. I’d take them in a second over AC. Took one in a trip to Male and was blown away. AC seems like a discount carrier compared to them. And Etihad was always on time! On the last 20 segments I have taken with AC, less than 20% were on time (or not cancelled outright).
ArijitFlew with IndiGoSep 2024
If using Indigo, try to carry less cabin luggage or else try boarding ahead of your Zone call - else you may struggle to find space. Don't rely on flight food at Indigo. Visata is much better. As of now, Indigo is lesser evil - till Vistara and Air India get together and hopefully do some magic.
KathyFlew with Cathay PacificSep 2024
There is no section by section boarding, except for people needing extra time, or first class. So I advise you to line up right away. It's a bit confusing at first, but just line up when they start boarding, no matter what your seat is, or you'll be last in line!
PaulFlew with Air CanadaSep 2024
Air Canada from Montreal was good. But next trip we will fly TAP to Lisbon because TAP disembarked into the terminal whereas AC parked away and passengers had to bus to the airport. This routing added an extra 45-60 minutes to clearing the airport in LIS
DanaFlew with Alaska AirlinesSep 2024
That was my first time flying Milwaukee to Seattle & vice versa. I think we choose a good airline. Seattle’s traffic & airport is busier than Milwaukee so get there at least 2 hours early. Download & keep an eye on the Alaska airline app for flight info updates.
Verified travelerFlew with Hawaiian AirlinesSep 2024
I will not fly to ICN and transfer to Hawaiian again. Both Asiana and KAL are good flights to ICN. And their lounges are both good. But if flying onward, stay with Asiana or KAL connections. ICN doesn’t do terminal connections well.
Verified travelerFlew with British AirwaysSep 2024
Make sure you arrive early enough for boarding. I had a 1 hr layover from Charleston that that was just enough time to get off the plane and walk over to the international side before they started boarding.
KevinFlew with Cebu PacificSep 2024
Bring charging cord as the have ports on the plane. You have to buy water, so get it in the airport, as 3 bottles is the same price as 1 warm bottle on the plane.
DavianFlew with SouthwestSep 2024
Don't rent a car or Uber. Add Clipper Card to your digital phone wallet and use it to take the Bart! It was super easy and very clean with spectacular views along the way
SteliosFlew with Sky ExpressSep 2024
Aegean airlines is still the best experience in Greece, one of the best in Europe. Buses from the airport are cheaper than metro. Recharge your ticket in the machines and help be more ecological
DONALDFlew with SouthwestSep 2024
None for this leg. But it seems the earlier the better for seating. The flight is usually not filled to capacity, so you can usually get an aisle or window seat fairly easy.
Verified travelerFlew with KLMSep 2024
Drink enough water before the flight and, if possible, carry a sachet with electrolytes to counteract the effect of the dry environment of the plane and reduce the effect of jetlag.
TrygveFlew with Cathay PacificSep 2024
For me it’s all about sleep. Try to sleep as much as possible. Bring a good book and don’t eat too much as it is a very long flight
MarkFlew with United AirlinesSep 2024
Unless you are “held hostage” by mileage plus program. Don’t take this flight if it’s an old short haul aircraft. Delta has more and more comfortable flights to Atlanta
Verified travelerFlew with NorwegianSep 2024
The service on the flight is amazing, and also the team responsible to see you on board are very helpful. Reach there in time because everything is timely.
TamaraFlew with Spirit AirlinesSep 2024
Choose airlines close to your home. Especially for uber purposes. Every airline that allows a carryon is ggreat. Complimentary snacks are a plus and add competent courteous staff.
AlanFlew with Alaska AirlinesSep 2024
From Portland specifically- fly Alaska. It’s just easier. Other airlines are fine, but when I’m going to and from Portland, I almost exclusively fly Alaska.
MatthewFlew with LATAM AirlinesSep 2024
Had to go to 2 security checks for connecting flights and could not take water/soda purchased in terminal onto the flight.... so plan accordingly
Rita AnnFlew with Aer LingusSep 2024
The gate is a long walk so go through security earlier rather than later. Loads of great shops and restaurants both land and air side.
OdieFlew with Air CanadaSep 2024
Make sure you eat at the airport before boarding… if you have time walk around the airport bc there’s lots of places to eat.
Verified travelerFlew with Alaska AirlinesSep 2024
We chose Alaska as they flew non stop from Seattle to Cincinnati and back to Seattle. A bonus not to stop in Chicago.
Verified travelerFlew with British AirwaysSep 2024
I have only flown Air Canada and British Airways, and while both are excellent, I have to give the edge to British Airways.
DanielFlew with Gulf AirSep 2024
Gulf Air has a good checked baggage policy (2 x 23 kgs). The carry-on allowance at 6 kgs is not bad too.
Verified travelerFlew with Air CanadaSep 2024
Get there with plenty of time! You can’t afford to be late but you can always afford to be “late for being early”!
AlainFlew with Flair AirlinesSep 2024
Just booked ahead with add-ons at a decent price or even last minute. . Fast journey of 1h15 from YEG to YVR.
Verified travelerFlew with LufthansaSep 2024
Don’t stress at the check in. Easy and convenient, no lines , no confusion with gate. Small and very easy airport to navigate
DesFlew with ZIPAIRSep 2024
Greay value for money! Buy food at the airport and take it onboard with you - its not an issue at all.
DevikaFlew with Etihad AirwaysSep 2024
I wish I had known how much walking I had to do to the transfer terminal from landing to transfer gate.
Verified travelerFlew with LufthansaSep 2024
Get deeper into the airport. There are cheaper/good food and more seating once you get away from the entrance.
Verified travelerFlew with British AirwaysSep 2024
Gone are the days of only needing to arrive 2 hours before your flight. My advice give yourself 3+ hours.
danielFlew with Singapore AirlinesSep 2024
They have a large library of movies and shows don't really need to bring anything for the long flight
BessieFlew with ANASep 2024
ANA and JAL are always better. I try to take the first flight in the middle of the week.
ScottFlew with DeltaSep 2024
If you can manage it, take the first flight of the day; chances are later flights will be delayed.
DevikaFlew with Etihad AirwaysSep 2024
FInd an airline that has not cut down seat width and depth, not reduced portion size of food.
PabloFlew with Hainan AirlinesSep 2024
Be punctual and kind to foreign people, we dont understand not only the language bit also the manners
Verified travelerFlew with American AirlinesSep 2024
Do not check in your docs, and medication in a check bag. Carry with you to the cabin.
Verified travelerFlew with British AirwaysSep 2024
Go to the airport early as the Security queues are almost always long, especially in the Summer months.
AurianneFlew with United AirlinesSep 2024

Verified travelerFlew with Porter AirlinesSep 2024

MichaelFlew with SouthwestSep 2024

Take a direct nonstop flight on Qantas Airways.
RyanFlew with Air CanadaSep 2024
There is a train but Rocky Mountaineer is expensive. There’s also E-bus but we would have had to stay overnight. Westjet is much cheaper but flights are through Calgary taking over 4 hours to make it to Kamloops instead of the 50 minute flight with AC.
DanielFlew with Gulf AirSep 2024
If you’re seated in the aisle, be prepared to get up when your neighbour needs to use the restroom or stretch their legs. If this happens during meal service, navigating around the cramped economy section in the narrow-body A321 can be a chore.
Verified travelerFlew with LufthansaSep 2024
We normally fly American out of phoenix, much more options. This time we flew united with connections on Lufthansa. A bit more juggling than our normal American airline and their connections.
ZachFlew with American AirlinesSep 2024
Charlotte is so crowded partially because of the tight banks American operates plus the construction and just the overall small footprint given the larger aircraft. Bring patience while transiting clt

LeoFlew with American AirlinesSep 2024
Have plenty of patience for the casual travelers! They are oblivious of rules and etiquettes that slows down the process for everyone. Case in point, a guy held up the line trying to place both his personal item (should be UNDER the seat in front of you) and his carry on case horizontally. Obviously not aware of the big poster right in front of his displaying the proper way of placing his case on it's side. Slowed the whole line of people behind him. Also be mindful the agents in Ontario airport (or any smaller airports) might not be the most knowledgeable on the rules and regulations of air travel, luggage specification allowances etc. Stay patient!! Also the seats do not recline that well anymore on AA flights. So if you have back problems, be sure to bring some back supports.
Verified travelerFlew with Alaska AirlinesSep 2024
The "pay to pick your seat" policy stinks. It's even worse than "pay to pick a seat you'd want to sit in" that airlines have been doing for a while. There is no cohesive policy for how one *gets* a seat assignment- at LAX my boarding pass had a seat assignment; in Portland, the ticketing agent told me the gate agent "had" to do it, but the gate agent said it had been assigned the whole time even though my boarding pass had a blank space where the seat assignment should have been.
DinaFlew with LATAM AirlinesSep 2024
Madrid airport is one of the most difficult airports I have ever visited. An absolute nightmare for new travelers to this airport. Please give assistance to the people connecting flights and remember that this T4 and T4S is confusing and there is only ONE information desk hidden among the food court and no one to ask. Corridors are empty and the people who are checking the lines don’t give any other assistance but supervision.
Verified travelerFlew with Singapore AirlinesSep 2024
I wish I'd known how little space there is now on this flight and how much the quality of the food has decreased in the last year. For breakfast the staff moved through the cabin handing out a boxed potato and mushroom patty which most people handed back
AvaFlew with WestJetSep 2024
If you think you’ll be hungry, bring food on board or eat before boarding. Don’t pay extra for a premium seat unless you want to sit toward the front of the plane. The seats are not different from one section to another. The bathroom smelled and was tight.
PeterFlew with Air CanadaSep 2024
Don’t expect to ever be on time to your destination. The Montreal-Toronto-Montreal route is AIr Canada’s highest volume route and they are almost never on time. In my experience (20 flight segments in the last 12 months) less than 20% have been on time.

Air Transat and Lufthansa seem to have the best onboard experience. Air Canada was good, too. Azores Airlines and Sunwing are to be avoided at all costs. The former lost half the plane's luggage and the latter couldn't be on time to save its life.

Check with the airline and validate that all of the advertised benefits are indeed available. Paying higher price for the Economy Plus tickets may not be worth it for you as a number of advertised benefits are not available, definitely not in Boston

Took over an hour from city center to Ezeiza International Airport (Buenos Aires) during rush hour. Plan accordingly. Latam required paper boarding passes. so make extra time to check in and get them at the desk or kiosk.
LeeAnnFlew with Air CanadaSep 2024
I wish I had known that the air canada flight I was taking was so small inside that you can barely fit your carryon bag down the aisle. Also that there are some planes who's seats don't recline.

If at all possible find one that isn’t so rules focused about things that don’t matter. I think we are well past the age where window shades MUST be open 30 minutes before landing. For goodness sake.

Istanbul airport is huge with lots of duty free and shopping options. Limited food choice. And if you are on budget, pack your food in advance as everything is si darn expensive. They primarily take Euro .
SimonFlew with British AirwaysSep 2024
Usually the earlier BA flight is better the later Easyjet one is often late and if it runs too far behind it becomes 4hours late as they have to find a new crew
KatyFlew with LOTSep 2024
Get to the airport at least 2.5 hours early. It will take you about 90 mins to check in with LOT. The workers are unfriendly and uncommunicative so don’t expect good service.
YeleFlew with AviancaSep 2024
Don't arrive 3 hours early because the staff is always late and you have to wait too long. Be prepared to face the Avianca staff because they treat you terribly.

Calgary airport is nuts… so busy, give yourself a little time. Disappointed that I couldn’t use the lounge voucher because Elevation closed for renovations and Aspire had a waiting list.
Verified travelerFlew with British AirwaysSep 2024
Do NOT choose BA! I will no longer use BA because of their lack of alternate planning! I would have been stranded in Zagreb for 2 extra days!
Verified travelerFlew with British AirwaysSep 2024
Give yourself a minimum of two days it seems to ensure you have time for at least one cancellation and multiple delays without being informed.
Verified travelerFlew with British AirwaysSep 2024
We did not notice at booking price for suitcases. At the airport, they charged us a whopping 170 euros for 2 small suitcases! Outrageous
Verified travelerFlew with British AirwaysSep 2024
Avoid BA at all costs! This is the second consecutive time I have had problems with BA! I will not fly with BA again!

Don’t expect too much from westjet. Most of the staff are rude. Only silver lining is that my flight was on time

Be prepared to go to the international terminal from domestic terminal. It takes lot of time and could be a little confusing.

Honestly I wouldn't fly out of Abidjan again. That airport is slow, poorly managed, unhelpful and unfriendly. Bad experience overall.

Do not fly British airways they canceled our flight, offered us a hotel in London. then didn't give us one.

Be prepared to wait to get your visa. E visa not accepted as they lack the software at VF airport

Beware of the low entry price because they will overcharge you later when you check in and board flight.

I will probably try to avoid Frankfurt from now on. The airport is very complicated. Lots of walking!
Verified travelerFlew with British AirwaysSep 2024
Never fly BA through Gatwick. An old, under resourced airport which will absolutely negatively impact your journey

Horrible. Grateful to be alive but spent 13 hours at airport only to return back to my familys house and flight changed to next day. They tried to fix a part on plane, had no back up plane and after 10 hours , reattempted the flight and it STILL wasn't fixed. We got a meal voucher and rescheduled flight but there should be some other compensation for the 15 hours spent in airport

My seat was changed at the last minute and I was moved to the last row, right next to the bathroom despite selecting my seat well in advance. I was also made to check my carry on due to space but when I got on the plane there was significant empty overhead space. Picking up my carry on from the luggage carousel added time to my trip which had already been extended due to delay.

There was plenty of overhead room but half of the passengers were told they had to check their carryon bags. My partner and I checked in as early as possible and our seats were split across the aisle.

Flew first class so everything was great. But maybe because the flights were red eye, no meals were served, just chips. I flew Alaska Air 1st class at 9PM (2 hour flight) and they served beef short rib sliders!

There was a loud squeaky sound the whole time we were flying.

I didn’t not like that I could not select my seat and ended up with the worse seat.

The landing was bad and the hostess came two times and i was sleeping but when she served the person that nexts to me I woke up and she didn’t even asked me if I need any drink or snacks two times!!!!

Plane was late because of a mechanical malfunction and the food listed as available was not. Flight attendants seem over worked and under paid. They just done seem happy. And that can be seen in their faces.

Waited 3 hours on a plane to de-ice due to manpower issues. Waited another hour and a half once we landed because of a gate issue. Missed my connections. Created. A total of 13 hours of delay.

Great, on time departure, friendly and accommodating crew, great leg room, Smith flight

Flight was delayed. Can happen. But the info on the website and app said that flight was cancelled which was not the case.

The whole trip was excellent. The only thing I would change is the temperature of the plane was a bit high which made it uncomfortable to sleep.

Delay, luggage didn’t arrive. Had to go the next day to collect it

The plane. Airbus A330-200. Comfortable for a 7-hour flight. Seats seemed to have more legroom. I was in row 17. Flight was operated by Delta but was better than expected.

It was operated by Delta. Boarding took a long time. How difficult can it be? Overall decent trip. Liked the Salt Lake City airport. Better option than Chicago for transfers.

Put some new and several options for entertainment. Do not be rude to customers and avoid serving them an extra coke or something. We paid 1200 GBP for a return flight.. A noisy, crowded, rude and uncomfortable flight.

The food from Lagos to Amsterdam was was very poor compared to AMS-YYZ

The flight was again delayed for more then 2 hours with some lousy explanation regarding the reason of the delay. Although the flight was delayed for more than 2 hours, no refreshments were offered (according to EU regulations). Last 4 flights on KLM - always at least 2 hrs late. So be prepared that you cannot plan anything with KLM.

Seats are fair enough for medium tall people. Good food all the trip. Fight attendances are warm

I thought KLM was the best airline but the Lima - Amsterdam was 1 hours late, the Brussels - Amsterdam was 2.30 hours late and the Amsterdam - Lima was 30 minutes late

Flight delayed. They made no attempt to get our luggage to our connecting flight so I am without necessities after they begged me to check in my bag. Still dont have it.

This was a short flight with no food. The attendants were great but the comfort was poor: just to cramped. The flight from Denver to Frankfort was excellent! Seating was roomier, food was good, service was good. This was a great experience.

Flight was quite late as there was no pilot Crew is usually excellent, this flight not as good as usual there were more mistakes, slower and less friendly service But honestly the aircraft was too cramped and uncomfortable for a 4 hour flying get so, do to the aircraft liability the very best you could ever do is mediocre.

It was so uncomfortable for 14 straight hours it was torture

Flight was ok. Unfortunately it was a Boeing 737, which is a cramped / tight airplane. I prefer the Airbus as they are a more comfortable flight experience.

when you can say you don't remember being at any point upset during a flight, the airline is winning .

Absolute disaster. Rude, uncooperative staff. Staff ignores and pretends you don’t exist when you are asking them a question. Erroneous departure gate and baggage claim information. Equipment not working for purchase of drinks. Overly expensive baggage check-in fees. Overly crowded. Dirty airplane. Passengers coughing incessantly as if they were being gassed. Circled airport in flight several times and waited on the tarmac for 1.5 hours. The worst experience ever. Consider another industry. The travel industry is not for you.

Luggage management is poor, my missing luggage is still lingering.

The pairing of personal Bluetooth headset did not work, provided headset did not work, then the screen locked and therefore no in-flight entertainment was available.

We were traveling as a family of 5 and they refused to seat us together. There were entire rows open, and my 13 year old daughter had to sit alone. Ridiculous!

VERY disappointed at the agent checking in my luggage. I know that the weight limit is 23 kg, a little over 50 pounds (50.71 pounds). Yet the agent kept repeating "50 pounds". So I said, the limit is 23 kg, and she had the audacity to say 'no, it is 22 kg!" Imagine my surprise. Was she ignorant or was she poorly trained? Not sure. The boarding process was pretty good. The speakers were loud enough so I still could hear them despite inconsiderate passengers continuing to speak while the announcements were going on. During the flight, the teenage girl sitting behind me kept pressing her feet to the back of my chair. I turned around several times, yet she did not get the hint. I did not make a fuss since I sense I had a bad streak that night with AA, so I just did the best I can to lean forward and not let that bother me.

Seats were very uncomfortable. I paid extra for a seat with more leg room, the seat was no different than a seat at the back of the plane. Flight attendant was rude.

Flights were on time. That's the main consideration since I had to change planes. The entertainment was whatever you bring with you and the food (in Economy) is non-existant. Neither of those was a surprise.

Mobility assistance at DFW is A JOKE!!! Totally disorganized, ineffective and annoying. Ended up having to walk and find our own way for a good part of the very, very long walk between gates. Worst assistance I have ever experienced.

Newer Aircraft have more amenities, but the JAL flight crew and ground staff are top tier and provided the best customer experience I've ever had on a flight!

This is a new route from Philadelphia to Naples. It was sold out. The team on board was excellent. I’ve flown this route twice this year and the flight has been excellent. I hope American keeps the route.

I did not enjoy continuously being lied to about the amount of time we would circle Chicago before deciding to redirect to Milwaukee. Then the amount of time we would sit on the ground in Milwaukee waiting for gas, or to take off again. Or the amount of time it would then take to get to Chicago again, or sit on the runway waiting for a gate. The whole time continuously hopefully we would make our connecting flight that kept getting delayed as well. Only to scramble and miss it. Enough with the BS. Tell me the truth. "Sorry, things are backed up and your probably not going to make your flight. You should rebook on the next flight now rather than wait." You'll never hear those words from an airline. Speaking of which. If the flight has been redirected and/or is seriously delayed, how about making the WiFi free for everyone so they get to rebooking and reserving hotel rooms while still in the air. You've inconvenienced me already and now you want me to pay $20 for Internet so I can try to make other plans. Absolutely disgusting!

Excellent. Attendants served preflight drinks and were courteous and nice.

It was great! It’s been awhile since I’ve flown American but this most recent experience reminded me how much I enjoy flying American. Organized. Informative. Efficient. Friendly. Can’t ask for much more, except my luggage got dinged up a bit. But that could have been the airport.

It was the worst experience ever. Cabin temperature cold, for which they did not have any blankets upon my asking. We paid $125 extra for each passenger to get extra space sits; the sits were ridiculously small, tight, and uncomfortable! The flight attendant dropped ice on me and my sister! All in all, American Airlines deserves below zero!

Flight delay of 4 1/2 hours with no reason for over 3 hours. Missed our connection in Rome & had to pay for an additional flight.

The seats (upgraded exit row), were the last comfortable plane seats my wife or I have ever experienced. Too narrow to turn at all to find a sleeping position. Devoid of cushioning to the point of feeling the frame bars across both the seat and the back. It was extremely uncomfortable and neither of us slept on the red eye.

The second leg of my flight unexpectedly got canceled. I was stuck at the airport for the whole day and instead of flying out that morning I flew out in the evening. For some of my fellow passengers it was the second cancellation and their original flight was supposed to go out the day before. There was no reason given though getting rebooked was quick even though I would have preferred if I would have been on one of the earlier flights that day. Compensation was a £10 voucher for some food at the airport. I eventually arrived without further incident but but due to the cancellation, it was one of my more frustrating travels of my life.

They denied us boarding on our scheduled flight and experienced significant disruption to our travel plans because of overbooking the flight!

Flight on time. Food was poor - low quality and hard to eat due to poor layout

Didn’t even get on the flight!! BA had a system crash and knocked many peoples boarding passes back for the connecting flight which we all would have made but ended up missing due to being refused past the barrier. There was one member of staff on and when he shift swapped the new staff member called us liars and that we were going to be too late for our flight hence the knock back which was false. I was an hour and ten minutes early for my connection flight at the time of scanning the boarding pass. Waited for three hours and ended up having to book a train home myself which was 4 hours long! Staff were useless and entire experience was an inconvenience. I had been travelling for three months and of course it was when I was back in my home country that I had the first muck up! Will not be touching BA to fly again

Tv screen didn’t work asked twice and never got an answer. 10 1/2 hrs no entertainment screen

I’ll fly with any other airline. Besides all the fees and not being able to change a flight even to a later flight without paying £150 charge. Or that the last flight the WiFi didn’t work, the food was so bad, and ran out of options. Seat didn’t recline. And the headset jack didn’t work. This isn’t my first flight with them, and on every flight there is always something wrong that makes the long 10 hours feel like an eternity. Never flying them again.

Pretty good flight in general. Connection in London was extremely slow. The security was slow and understaffed. It took 35 minutes to get through and it was not even crowded.
