Excellent service, they make sure that you are confortable, entretainend and fed during your flight whithout charging you for everything. Definetly I will be flying with this airline in the future.
I dont have anything that I dislike from this flight
The food was mediocre.
The customer service was terrible. Our connecting plane had not left yet and they did not let us on. They proceeded to tell us that our only option was to stay the night and take another flight the next day. Us and 10 other people had to get into an argument with the staff in order for something to be done. After begging, they finally said they would put us on an earlier flight the following morning and they put us in a hotel. The staff did not care about us or our missed flight/wasted money that we paid for the hotel at our destination that night. It took 30 minutes for a manager to give us the time of day. Horrible experience. It's really shocking that this is how the company treats its customers.
It was a fast flight. Overall good.
The lines to check in the luggage in Barranquilla Colombia took long although there was not that many people. Overall not that much time, the boarding process in Boston was fast an friendly .
There were many babies and small children on this fight , the crew did a great job of assisting families . Also they really strived to assist any request
Once boarded completely we sat in an ice cold plane for 1 hour before takeoff told to stay seated and not use the bathrooms. More communication needed from cockpit for the delay, and when we might takeoff , passengers and crew were freezing...
Didn’t make the flight because our first flight was delayed. We arrived when our flight was scheduled to take off but instead of holding that flight for maybe 30 minutes so everyone with connections could make it, we had to spend the night in Bogota. At least we were provided with hotel and food vouchers but don’t see how that is cost effective or good service for the airline when holding the plane for less than an hour would have allowed dozens of people to make it back the day we were scheduled to.
Crew was nice.
Thay threw our checked bags around like trash and we had precious items in the bags. We thought they would fit in thebo erhead bins. They were small - bins were smaller.
plane was relatively quiet and comfortable.
Nothing wrong with boarding a plane using a bus, but there are better technologies and they are better.
The staff was courteous and efficient. The entertainment selections were diverse. The seating was adequate for a long haul flight.
The check-in process took 50 minutes at the counter as the staff told me that I needed a visa for China (transit) while that info was incorrect. I had to deal with online customer service while the person at the counter couldn’t help. It finally took 3 people at the counter to send me away. Once on the plane for a 14+ hour flight, I couldn’t use the bathrooms freely as they were filthy. The staff obviously didn’t maintain the bathrooms during the entire flight. The food served made me wish that I had bought take-out food for 3-meals prior to my boarding. the quantity of food was inadequate for the long flight as well. 1 extra snack would have been appreciated. I will likely book my future trans-Pacific flights with another airline.
Staff felt embarrassed for what they were being asked to do
A United supervisor at the Leon terminal informed me that my 'smart' luggage was not allowed. I have traveled with it all over the world for the past 2 years, including to Leon in a United flight 2 days prior. I have also disabled the battery with a clearly marked OFF switch inside and never actually use it. However the memo I was shown was unambiguous and logic was not an option. So I asked for a screwdriver to remove the battery, The supervisor said no and proceed to treat me as a criminal. After one of the staff lent me tools and I removed the battery the supervisor asked for my name but off we went to board our flight. Before boarding however, my wife and I were called in for a 'random' security inspection. The experience was very unpleasant. It was discrimination and retaliation by someone abusing their authority. Very dissapointed on the United staff and their customer service.
The crew was super attentive and cordial.
United Airlines has really deteriorated. Paid entertainment for an international flight is really nickle-and-diming it, especially since it was direct tv which is only available over the continental US!
