Crew was sort of apologetic

I checked in online early and selected a window seat with an isle next to me. After take off I realized my flat bed seat was broken. The crew should have seen this before because none of the buttons on the control panel were illuminated, however they said that they didn’t know because it wasn’t reported. So I switched seats mid flight to a much less desirable middle seat. This time I quickly discovered the entertainment system was broken and that was why they had the empty seat in the first place. So I paid thousands of dollars for a choice between a broken chair or a middle seat with a broken tv. Then when I went to get my bags I had to wait a lot longer than I should have because they did not put the “priority” sticker on my luggage tag so it came out last. Business class fail by Avianca Brasil. I expected better. Not happy. Waiting for some kind of apology and refund from the airlines. I think I will be waiting a long time.

I am only 5'2...a short woman so the seat does not fit me . My feet can not rest on the floor and the headrest does not adjust for me. It makes for a most uncomfortable 18 hours from Lima.

Ease of boarding and good communication from pilot

Flight attendant was gruff when communicating. She seemed angry when providing information. It was a short flight, so not a lot was offered, which was totally fine. However, when she walked down the isle with water, she appeared to be looking at the ceiling and didn’t stop to check if many people wanted water, including me.

Easy boarding and finding seat; good food and liked that wine was available, good movies to choose from

Seat was not comfortable, I am 5'1" and the head rest was too high, fortunately I had my own foam neck support. Bathrooms could use more cleaning during flight as one was grossly covered with urine right after turbulence was experienced. One crew member appeared to be having a bad day and seemed unhappy to be at work and was impatient with all.

The flight at first had a 3 HOUR delay do to a "mechanical breakdown". We were told that they were going to bring another airplane from Rio de Janeiro. After the 3 hours passed they were only announcing in Portuguese to board the original plane. They never changed planes or provided a clear explanation to the passengers. Many of us refused to board. This was one of the worse experiences I have ever had. The staff was disrespectful and would not help us. We ended up taking another flight until the following night!!

The food and entertainment

The seats were the smallest seats I've ever say in and I felt claustrophobic. Checking into this flight was a disaster and impossible. Tam would redirect me to Tam airlines and Lan would redirect me to Lan. The Lan customer service was unable to get into the Tam airlines flight so we emded up with the most awful chairs in the airline. I wish they would fix their website so checkin isn't as frustrating as it was for me. I understand the airlines merged but if each airline is unable to access eachothers flight then how exactly did you merge? ALSO when we got off the first flighy to connect in this one they gave us no explanation until 20min later to where we should commect to this flight. They MADE US WALK A 20min WALK TO ANOTHER TERMINAL WITH ALL OUR BAGS. It was awful. If your gonna need people to walk to another terminal the least you can do is supply a shuttle.

My in flight experience was awesome and that was all thanks to the hospitality of the crew. They were all well spoken and well mannered people. Very attentive one person inparticular i didn't get her name but she took care of my section as if we were her house guest.

I had a ales seat so of course there was a ton of shoulder bumping outside of that all was well.

The only decent point was the food. Not great but at least edible.

Since check in in São Paulo was a complete chaos. There were only 2 people helping on check in (in machines) and these people were still not helping people (like me) with questions about on how to do check in in those machines. On the other hand to dispatch the bags there were almost 8 attendants to receive the bags. Ridiculous! I’ve tried calling American Airlines and Latam several times to assign a seat for me and they swore there were only middle seats but I know how airlines work to make extra money on these seats. At the end, they only gave me a middle seat option and I had to take I.t of course. On the plane I realized there were dozens of empty seats and yet they made sure not give them to me or anyone else. Unbelievable! Unfortunately I still have to use AA on my way back to Brazil. After this, I’ll chose another airlines for sure. Also, the 3,4,3 arrangement is ridiculous: there’s no corridor space making people touching you everything someone passes by your seat. And boy! Those seats are so uncomfortable and there’s no way to incline the chair so you can even have a little rest (because it’s impossible to even sleep on those seats). The crew were simply doing their jobs! No pleasure! No smile! No engaging with anyone unfortunately! They looked miserable and I asked for water and the flight attendant NEVER brought me anything. Seriously! Water is free!

TSA agents at Panama Airport are the rudest people I've ever met. Ruder than TSA Agents is USA if you can believe that! I've flown out of Panama several times and they are rude every single time. Seats on plane are very uncomfortable.

The flight was so crammed. I understand there's the possibility of flying on a fully booked flight but if it took an hour to load the passengers how quickly can you realistically get 400 passengers out? Plus it prevents everyone from having an overhead cubby. You need to reconfigure the flying experiwnce.

Delayed flight which kept pushing back for more then 5 hours. Got booked on the next flight got middle seat. Flight attendant was rude and short with people. Not very personable. Plane was so hot everyone was sweating.

Nothing about flying with them is good. If you have small children stir away, pay $500 more on another ticket and it will worth every penny. Not worth the headache, hassle, stress, and every other horrible emotion they will make you face. Just flew NYC - Sao Paolo and the customer service prior to the flight, and the workers at check in at the airport were useless. They are rude, inefficient, they have no idea what's going on, they will screw up everything about your flight and won't even say sorry. There were people on the preferential line and normal line crying, doing live videos on Facebook complaining about the wait and lack of professionalism, people screaming, older folks upset, all because they don't have enough staff to move things along and IF ANY PROBLEM arises at check in they won't help you and the line will stop for another half an hour. This happen on both airports and the airport workers who were trying to calm things down said it's a normal occurrence with TAM/ Latam and that's what you get for flying with them. Never , ever, ever again......

Crew was sort of apologetic

I checked in online early and selected a window seat with an isle next to me. After take off I realized my flat bed seat was broken. The crew should have seen this before because none of the buttons on the control panel were illuminated, however they said that they didn’t know because it wasn’t reported. So I switched seats mid flight to a much less desirable middle seat. This time I quickly discovered the entertainment system was broken and that was why they had the empty seat in the first place. So I paid thousands of dollars for a choice between a broken chair or a middle seat with a broken tv. Then when I went to get my bags I had to wait a lot longer than I should have because they did not put the “priority” sticker on my luggage tag so it came out last. Business class fail by Avianca Brasil. I expected better. Not happy. Waiting for some kind of apology and refund from the airlines. I think I will be waiting a long time.
