Our flight to Sioux Falls left early, without us. My pregnant wife and I made it to the gate 4 minutes before the scheduled departure and they told us the plane was already gone and there was no way for us to get on the plane. Our bags did make it to Sioux Falls, so my wife didn't have her prenatal vitamins, , we had no clean clothes and we were forced to spend the night in Atlanta. The saddest part of yet another terrible experience with Delta was that they offered us a "discounted" room at a terrible Howard Johnson for $72. I looked online and the same hotel was $65 to book on Kayak. So basically Delta was trying to scam us after they screwed us. Thanks Delta! Instead we paid $200+ to stay at an airport hotel. Every time I fly Delta I regret it, yet occasionally I get forced to take their awful airline to get somewhere I need to go. It never fails to add another bad Delta experience to my long list of failings from this SAD!!! airline."

Cons: "There were select in-flight crewembera that not only spoke rudely to passengers but also openly discriminated against passengers on board. They openly stated "It's always easier up front, isn't it?" They were openly rude and impatient with a group of passengers who clearly needed their interpretor and refused to provide any guidance when they group was nervous about missing their connection due to the delayed flight (they did actually miss their connection and were left to "look at the boards outside.") I personally experienced direct rudeness that was simply beyond what should be considered acceptable. A gentleman attendant was pouring ice into his bucket and due to a leak in the bag, she was pouring water all over my entire jacket sitting on my lap. Stunned by this, I loudly asked him to please stop and proceeded to ask for napkins. His response was "it's just water, it's not a big deal." I responded to say, "it's actually on my enitre jacket and I need to check that it didn't hit my laptop in my bag" and the response was "it's just water...you don't need to yell at me." I genuinely was frustrted but by no means was yelling. I was handed napkins and when he finally saw just how much water he had poured onto my jacket (the entire half of the jacket was soaked)...the response from the attendant was "Oh, now that I see how much it is...I actually am sorry." Implying..he previously actually wasn't sorry at all. I say with FULL certainty that had I been sitting "up front" or in first class...the apology would have been immediate and freely offered and would not have come with a degree measurement of damages. I am a loyal Delta flyer and more and more so I'm finding it hard to stay loyal to an airline with staff that continues to disappoint and concurrently creates such difficulties throughout the booking process."

Cons: "ORD -> LAX We sat on the Tarmac for 45 mins without any communication. We ended up landing on time, but I was connecting to an international flight, so this naturally caused me and my companion a great deal of unnecessary stress. LAX -> ORD I arrived at the gate prior to the 10 minute before take off deadline and the gate attendant said I couldn't board and walked away. I sat and waited several minutes until a gate attendant returned where they proceeded to call stand by passengers. I was checked in and present, but not allowed to board. So I approached a different attendant, explained and he looked surprised that I wasn't boarded. He then without asking me any questions or checking with me typed on his computer and then handed me a new boarding pass for a new flight 1:25 later. I boarded that plane and sat for over an hour. The pilot had no updates for us other than the delay was a maintenance issue, saying repeatedly that he would check again in 15 mins. Finally after wasting more time we had to deplane and wait for a new one. Ultimately I was not allowed to board my original flight without explanation, which then caused me to have over 3:30 in delays. This is all after I had arrived from an international destination, which made the ordeal very miserable. This type of awful experience is a pattern with American Air - rarely are my flights on time and I've had more cancellations with American than any competitor airline. Anything but A full refund would not be acceptable. Thank you, Randi"
Cons: "Charlotte to Seattle flight: The food served in first class smelled awful. Seated in premium seating just behind first class was unfortunate due to the atrocious odor that lasted for 3+hours. There was no option for food service for the rest of the plane. Which was unfortunate as I was very hungry. Due to inconsistent notification that the plane was delayed / on-time (kept switching the notification) we opted to not get dinner in the airport..... To which the plane was was an hour late yet we were told to check in every ten minutes to see if we were boarding. There were no blankets. The plane was incredibly cold. The suggestion I received from the flight staff was to turn off the vent above my head (which I had already done.) I had brought a jacket and was wearing pants. On a 5.5 hour flight, the crew served beverages 45 minutes into the flight (per usual) and handed out a pretzel pack. They didn't come back through with water or beverages again. On other airlines, they promote water at least once an hour to keep swelling and dehydration down. Since I am a pretty frequent flier, I bring my own water. Still, coffee would have been nice. Suggestions: increase beverage service to at least twice / 5.5 hour flight and provide blankets upon request. Food choices and entertainment would also be good. Don't cook stinky dinners in first class and allow it to pollute the rest of the plane."

Cons: "To make meetings, got routed to Omaha, rented car and driving to SIoux Falls. United' best flights arrived next day about 2:30pm which misses business mtgs and most of day. Had to go to customer service supervisor to get hotel room covered in Omaha. No help on rental car. No help with hotel charges already made in Sioux Falls"

Cons: "Plane was small and cramped. The snack packs of pretzels and things is not very good, it doesn't taste the best and is not healthy for anyone. Had to gate check my one item. Very cold in the cabin even after two hours in flight."

Cons: "I had no issues with my flights but my bag was damaged to the point I can no longer use it. They asked for volunteers to check their carry on due to a full flight (not my problem) so I did the nice thing and checked my small hard-case carry on never thinking it could get damaged that badly. It was only 2-3 years old and not only did the wheel come off but it cracked a portion of the hard case which came off as well. To make it worse when I called to ask what I should do to get compensation they told me the wrong thing and would only let me talk to people in call centers who wouldn't really answer my questions."

Cons: "Flight was delayed for 40 minutes because of "paperwork" according to the pilot. We boarded the plane on time however had to sit on it during the delay. We were not informed of what was going on until we had already been waiting for 30 minutes. When they informed us of the delay they offered everyone free direct TV in flight to make up for the delay. Once we finally took off they announced that the direct TV was not actually working. The flight attendant making the announcements was not sincere and rather unprofessional. Luckily the pilot flew fast so we ended up arriving only 10 minutes late."

Cons: "Terrible flight. I payed for an upgraded seat, list my flight due to a crew on previous flight being late then was put on standby on this plane in a tiny seat next to someone else. We sat on the runway for 45 min. There was an open seat in row 1 that I could have been seated in, but no one offered"

Cons: "my girlfriend and I were removed from the plane. she had received troubling news from her family that kept stacking on, not to mention we were tired from traveling all day thanks to delays making us miss our flights. and when we gestured for an attendant to come by, light dark skin, facial hair, glasses. he had customer service come by and we reiterated the question if we decided we would like to get off the plane would it be possible to receive a voucher for the flight. but we told him that we were just trying to consider options and we were good to go, and the customer service told us that the attendant did not feel comfortable with us on the plane, and that my girlfriend reached out and touched him and he did not feel safe. we never even raised our hands our eye brows. they caused us all kinds of hell, we couldn't get another flight till 2210, they embarrassed and humiliated my girlfriend because she was crying. unacceptable."

Cons: "It was a smaller plane and being in the very last row meant I smelled the bathroom. The door was literally within arms reach."
Cons: "A lady with a dog on a leash was allowed on board. I do not think it was a service dog. In the gate area, the dog was encouraged to get up on the seat. The owner also walked the dog over to a couple to visit, and the couple had a large cat in a carrier. The dog owner did not see the cat in the carrier for a few minutes. Then, when she did realized it she did not move away. You could see that the dog noticed the cat and was getting excited, and proceeded to bark. I don't know why she didn't back away when she noticed the cat. On board, the dog, still on a leash, didn't stay under her feet. The owner did not hang on to the leash."
