ALSO, they did not even board from jetbridge. We had to take shuttle bus past the entire airport and past the maintenance hangers to our plane. Flight from CAN to SFO makes "stop" in Wuhan, China for 2.5 hour layover. 1) Disembark onto shuttle bus. 2) Travel across airport. 3) Go through immigration or customs AGAIN and then security check of luggage 4) Walk 1/2 mile to business lounge 5) spend less than 10 minutes in lounge 6) get back on bus to be taken back to airplane. 7) wait another 1/2 hour b4 departure. Weird place to stop and even crazier procedures."

Americans are much louder. Entrainment is mediocre, not much information is offered in broken English at least"

Since my flight was delayed getting into LA, I was one of the last people checked in for the flight and that may be why I was given a middle seat. One other note about the flight... I was unable to hear the flight attendant making the announcements, so maybe something was said about needing to fill out an arrival card for the checkpoint. I assumed that since I was just connecting through and not actually staying in China, that I did not need this card. Needless to say, I didn't find out I needed this card until I waited in line and got to the checkpoint officer. It was not a huge problem for me since I had a lengthy layover in Shanghai, but if I had had a shorter layover, I could have missed my next flight because of this delay."
Cons: "When I came to the airport in Shenzhen I was told that my ticket was booked but not issued, called the number to US support and got the answer that they would issue the ticket immediately, it was in que?? 5 minutes later the lady at China eastern support told me you guys cancelled the ticket? This is 45 min before my flight was supposed to leave and you cancel my ticket without informing me? I bought a new ticket from China Eastern. What is wrong with you? How can a company fail this flat? //Mattias"
Cons: "I was refuses boarding with no clear reason. Was told that because flying time will be longer from toronto to shanghai ans we will miss connection. No support privided for booking ibto another partner airline.Was told weather conditions and that advise is to fly after 3 days. No compensation paid for money spent ro and from airport or for additional day stay. Tgey said you take full refund and bool in airline of your choice. Crazy, if i book on the day of flying, it would be super expensive. Then they booked on next day flight and that too confirmed which is contradictory to advisory of 3 days. Rebooked but missed critical things like veg food, wheelchair, aise seat. Rude staff at airport. Refused to give anything in written over email."

Pros: "The boarding process was very efficient and the flight attendants were very friendly and accommodating as I do not speak Chinese. The flight was on time and had a smooth take off and landing."
Cons: "Not the airline's fault but I was seated with a young child next to me (I was in a window seat) and another young child in front of me. The two kids spent the entire flight jumping around in the seats playing and talking over me. For a short flight it was bearable but on a longer flight would have been very annoying. The flight crew did very little to get them to sit or stop yelling during the flight."

Pros: "My husband and I flew from Chicago to Bangkok with a layover in Shanghai Pudong airport. The flight was comfortable. I enjoyed the food, and entertainment choices. The flight attendants were courteous and helpful."
Cons: "No one answered any phone calls. I couldn't confirm my flight 24h before as recommended. My husband's flight was moved a day earlier leaving from Bangkok due to overbooking, so we called to have his flight upgraded but we couldn't reach anyone. We asked at the check-in counter for the airline to upgrade his flight but were told that we needed to call to do that. We did! But no one answered! The website was always down when trying to reserve seats. My husband and I were seated separately even though we checked in together on the last leg of flight from Shanghai to Bangkok and there were plenty of seats leftover that we could have been seated. The plane was not even full."
Cons: "There were several open seats but they were unable to seat the three of us together. Also, online check-in was a nightmare. Only one of us succeeded in getting online, then they changed that seat assignment at the airport. Also, the two hour flight was almost an hour late."

Cons: "1. 1+ hour delay and no quick announcement regarding it. When the announcement was made, no time detail with regards to possible wait time of delayed boarding time. 2. Many folks went to China Eastern information to ask questions, the staff was unattentive and rude (would say 'I don't know' and then turn their attention to their phones). 3. No slippers to wear for such a long flight. Eva Air offers slippers and blankets even to their economy class passengers. 4. Could not bring water on to the plane even after having gone through security. No other airlines I traveled with during my entire trip had that policy: Eva Air, Korean Air, Peach, Scoot. 5. When another passenger buzzed a flight attendant, she came and responder with "what do you need?" instead of "How can I help you?" 6. Granted there was some turbulence during thr flight..but the ENTIRE time, seat-belt buckle sign was on...from Shanghai to LAX. That is one LONG flight. People need to get up and stretch their legs. Have no clue if it was bc they just didn't want to deal with the passengers or making announcements or switching on and off the seat-belt sign...but it was on the ENTIRE flight. Overall, terrible. Will not be flying China Eastern again."
