We were lucky we could change to international flight Guangzhou-Wuhan-San francisco. Otherwise we could not come back on time. It's horrible. The ticket did not state we need to check in/ check out luggages twice and guangzhou-Wuhan is domestic flight which always changes schedule without notice. We won't buy this type of flight anymore."

They provide drinks, meals, and snacks during the scheduled time. If you need something else, then they are happy to help you. The staff really helped us with the temporary visa process during our layover in Wuhan!"

Bus was too cramp with people and luggage. Upon checking in Hotel, no dinner and breakfast coupon provided. No cash money given for dinner. i don't have Chinese yuen so no dinner and Breakfast. Drink only mineral water provide by Hotel. Checking out time as early as 0400hrs for bas to pick up to Airport. My Flight time was 0920hrs. Mini Bas was also congested. 18 seater bas with 17 passanger and full of luggage with no luggage compartment.So just imagine what kind of rate do you want me to select."

China Eastern wouldn't let me board the flight, they wouldn't cancel or change my flight either. I flew through China on the way to Bangkok with no problem, but they wouldn't let me use my return tickets. I payed for my tickets and they never let me use any of the tickets. I had to book with another airlines to get home. I will never use China Eastern Airlines again."

The crew is rude and officious and blatantly would just ignore customers trying to get their help, they will force you to keep all electronics to be off for 30 minutes after takeoff and before landing (literally taking them out of your hands) regardless of if they are in airplane mode or even have a wifi signal or are just a kindle, they will not permit the use of mobile phones at any point in the flight and again will take them out of your hand even in airplane mode to listen to music or type notes etc., the food is terrible, they came through once with drinks on a 6 hour flight (thank god I bought some water in the airport beforehand), the plane was noticeably decades old with chairs and table trays falling apart, entertainment did not exist which was made all the more noticeable because your electronics were taken away. My bag was broken and an entire shell for it was missing by the time it got to Singapore. And Shanghai is the worst airport for a layover I've ever been in -- it's a dump of an airport, has very few food options, terrible wifi, you are blocked from accessing basic websites like Google and Facebook, and you have to go through an entirely new security and checkin procedure, which is onerous, even though you did one in Japan. The boarding is slow and terrible, and the flight was delayed sitting on the tarmac for 40 minutes without even an attempt to apologize or explain for the delay. And it seems this behavior and approach is just normal based on other people I've talked to. It's. it hard to make flying a little more pleasant with basic courtesies but China Eastern seems to find a way to take every one of those opportunities to male your experience worse."
Cons: "The flight was late for an hour and half to start with. Then after we boarded, we got stuck on tarmac for another hour and half. They claimed it was due to tower's traffic control. But Nanjing Airport was not that busy. Although it was drizzling, it was not windy at all. Soon after they announced that there would be delay, they decided to serve meal while the plane was on the tarmac. A new experience for me. On top of that, the passengers were noisy."

It should be noted that the confirmation email did NOT provide the ticket number -- a big omission. After much unnecessary delay, entered crowded waiting area for many delayed flights. A cattle pen. An unusual plus -- they provided a take-out meal for those waiting through dinnertime. Flight was finally announced some 7 hours later. Crowded bus ride to the airplane. Not even third-rate service, very poor. No use of boarding ramp. I hope it is the last time I fly on China Eastern."
