The delta employee told me sure no problem. He checks in my one suitcase I purchased gives me the tracking paper and says ok have a good flight. I asked him so what is with our carry ons and he told us that that would cost 25$ and we can't check those in at the drop off?!?We ended up taking the carry ons with to the gate and then off course there wasn't enough room on the airplane that we had to check it in. And surprise it was free?? We had never issues with Lufthansa, icelandair etc. with checking our bags at drop off to not needing to carry it around and than still end up to check it at the airplane. Every airline has been more than happy that we volunteer to check our bags that they don't have the trouble at the gate."

The blanket was hardly a blanket and more like a towel. We then luckily could switch seats as there were 2 vacant. But, the air conditioner was leaking water in the seat to our left. The crew was callous and just stuck the passenger with some napkins saying it does that. I don't fly Delta a lot and my experience in this trip isn't inspiring much confidence."

Cons: "I boarded the plane and made a mistake by sitting in the wrong seat and placed my hang-up bag in the overhead compartment. When I realized that my actual seat was 10 rows back on the very last row, I moved, leaving my hang-up bag near the first seat. As time passed, I heard a woman on the intercom say something about a lost "jumper". After learning that a "jumper" is a sweater, I asked the nearby airline attendant if the sweater was a navy color, like the one that I had left in the overhead. A female airline attendant came to me, carrying my hang-up bag with my sweater and repeated 4 times that I was lucky because she was about to put my "jumper" and hangup-bag off the plane and leave it in Johannesburg since no one had responded sooner!!!! I was so stunned that I could not say anything. I only kept wondering why would anyone go into the overhead and start pulling things out? Why would someone take such extreme measures and not walk down the aisle, asking every person on the plane, including the people on the back row? This type of thing could happen to anyone. Since I did not have a name tag on the bag and I live in the US, it would have been near impossible to ever find my bag again if left in So.Africa! Plus, the woman went on and on in a very rude & condescending manor when all I could do was sit in shock, wondering why she would take the time to go through the overhead and look for a hang-up bag that does not have a name tag!!!!"

We were in row 34 (middle of the plane over the wing) and when they got to us with the food options, they had already run out of the second choice on both occasions. On the first service, we asked the attendant if the food had any fish/seafood ingredients (due to allergies) and she said no. We then read on the lid of the food tray that there was a possibility of fish traces so my husband could not eat it. When we told the attendant about it she told us they didn't have anything else. Hard to believe there was nothing they could do, we've never experienced this issue before. We then asked another flight attendant if there was any food available for purchase but she said no. Luckily, she was able to find a vegetarian dish that my husband could eat. We're grateful that she found this as the next food service was not until 6 hours later. Sad that we had to ask again, we were expecting that they cared a little more. Overall, BA didn't meet our expectations unfortunately. This was a trip to Europe in which we took 4 BA flights and overall, the experience was of that no better than a low cost. Would have a hard time thinking of choosing this airline again."

When I called in for cancellation at the airline, they told me to talk to my agent company Cheaptickets. Cheaptickets simply told me that I can't get any money back, and was extremely arrogant and impatient. Later (for a week I was trying to save this ticket by talking to the British Embassy to see if I can get the visa done and they are just "we can't help you") they told me that I can get a refund of like 30 SGD and they promised to send me an e-mail about it. They never ever did. I also tried to change the dates and the handling fee + fair difference was like 1200 SGD (are you joking?) they simply told me, prices fluctuate... Finally I went to the check in counter desperate. The staff even refused to talk to me about my situation because simply, "there is no BA ticket office in Singapore" and told me to call them. I said the office is closed, but they are like, yeah just call them. They swept me off like a moron. Extremely arrogant, impatient, insensitive. I paid 900 SGD for nothing and a whole week of anxiety and regret. I will never take this and I will never use Cheaptickets or Kayak anymore. So bad."

The last ingredient is sun-dried tomato that was the only ray of light for a poor effort of a snack by BA. No lodging because not their fault! Okay, storm not their fault, faulty policy is!"

Cons: "Got through the extensive security lines to USA one hour before scheduled departure and looked at the screen which said 'final boarding' which was not true and made us panic a bit, running for the gate. It did board and leave on time but not an hour early. This flight was night and day different than our ORD to Dublin flight of 5.12.17 which was 5 hours delayed and do stressful."
Cons: "I missed the connection in London and had to wait 5 hours for another flight. This was only due the fact that there is no help to passengers in connection. I had over an hour and a half to get to my flight but waiting for the busses and to commute to the right gate took so long that I missed my flight."

Cons: "Paid for seats closer to front to get off for connecting flight. Waste of money as flight was delayed 90 minutes trying to fix the water system which the slow response maintenance crew never fixed. Ended up using Sani-wipes and had no coffee - seemed ok for a relatively short flight and half full plane. 90 minutes to make the decision to just go on resulting in many rescheduled flights."

Cons: "my son was connecting in Newark, and they said they were holding the plane for him and 20 other passengers. when they shuttled them from one plane to the next, they got to the gate on the tarmac and the plane had already left. we had to drive 2 1/2 hours to newark at midnight to get our 18 year old son. when i called united about it, they said to write in on their website and i'd be compensated etc... 5 days later, haven't heard a peep. never flying united again...ever"

The plane also heading to Newark ahead of us was overbooked and some people were pushed onto our plane, not a big deal if all can fit on the plane...but we wouldn't have if it wasn't for the delay causing those flying to Boston to miss their flights. Frustrating and adds an element of concern when faced with delays when the weather is fine. The internet on the plane is also confusing to use...should be clearer. Mistakenly booked my flight before realizing the new carry on policy, so trying to pack everything into a tiny bag to meet requirements was frustrating... definitely don't think I will be booking United again."

They put us up in a low end hotel overnight. Then we had our morning flight again delayed as we waited for planes to the take off, so further delays. Arrived in Costa Rica 1 hour late. Now with too many other flights so immigration packed and took another hour and twenty minutes (when we finished there was only a 5 minute wait). Thanks United"

She said yes. Then when my bag came I asked her to help. She didn't hear me. She was busy talking to a coworker. So I had to do it, which made my back worse."

Pros: "The boarding process is terrible, because communication breakdown is inevitable. The crew on the plane are sometimes rude, and have no patience when passing seated passengers. One air hostess constantly bumped into my arm like a bull as she passed walking down the isle. Entertainment is practically non-existent on long flights unless you pay for it. Two of my flights were cancelled last minute with little to no remorse, and I had to wait 2 days to catch the next flight. That flight was even delayed more than an hour. I was sick by time I reached my destination. Overall, United would not be my 1st choice due to bad experiences numerous times."

The fact that for a long (3h- 4h and 5h) flight (took 4 overall during the holidays) united didn't offered ONE movie for free at least was very disappointing. Not one of my flights were on-time!"

Cons: "After three years of flying all around US, realized United is the worst of the three major legacy carriers. I'm star alliance gold and it's still a painful experience. Crew admitted in latest redesign of planes they've managed to squeeze another six seats in coach. My seat wouldn't go back but even if it did, would feel too guilty for person behind to do it - so little legroom on newer planes. They've also cut down on restrooms so for most of the flight there was a line of 5-6 people waiting in the aisle. American Airlines seems to have older planes but at least decent legroom (and I'm not tall - anybody over 5'10 would have to sit at an angle on new United planes!). Been very impressed by Delta's service lately. United feels more like Spirit"

Cons: "First and last time to fly United. Flight from Washington DC to Seattle was delayed 6.5 hours. Every hour they announced it was delayed another hour. Also, no free entertainment during our 6 hour flight. We were given a $10 food voucher."
Cons: "They delayed the flight due to "operational difficulties". I understand this happens, however, their communication towards customers was unacceptable. They first announced a 20 min delay, followed by another 30 min, then 30 more and then 30 more than then 30 more! They basically kept us at the gate for 2 1/2 hours until the found another plane. For a business like United, and flying out of their hub this is completely unacceptable. We ended up leaving at 11pm for a flight scheduled at 8. They didnt give anything in the plane to make up for it. No food, no free wifi, nothing."

I had 2 flights canceled due to maintenence and then when we finally were rebooked the third plane it was delayed 2 hours and I missed all my connecting flights. Once I arrived at next airport was rebooked again and that plane was delayed for 3 hours."

Cons: "I purchased my tickets on 10/30/2015 for an aisle seat. I check in the day before and no seat assignment, get to the kiosk and no seat assignment. I see the agent at the gate and she gives me a middle seat, I complained and she gave me an aisle seat. I get to my seat and someone is sitting in that seat, I go back to the front of the plane and wait to be assigned to another seat. The agent said they changed the plane that's why everyone lost seat assignments, 6 out of the 8 people that all booked together sat in their assigned seats. Never fly with them again."
