The terminal on my ticket was different than the gate number. We went through security and had to take a 15 min shuttle to a different terminal. Why not just go through security there? There were also no attendants at the gate to discuss seat assignments. My husband and I didn’t have seats together. Try on board crew was great, but the airport experience was lacking.

Cons: "We had a connection in Detroit. The flight from Seattle to Detroit arrived about 30 minutes late, and we barely made the connection. Apparently Delta had not told the Detroit-Boston flight to wait a few minutes for us. We did make the connection, but we arrived at the gate with no seat assignment (we had been bumped the day before from our original flight because of a mechanical problem) as the plane was loading. Had we missed the flight, we would have had to spend the night in Detroit and go to Boston the next day. Delta should have told the gate agent that we were coming."

Pros: "Even though we were in the very back row, we did not experience a foul smell from the restrooms. This was a very nice relief. It is bad enough that the seats don't recline and there is no window in the very back row but prior experience with the added nausea of foul restroom order has been a serious insult to injury. In this case there was really minimal odor. Also since we are traveling as a family we are very happy that we were seated together. We have experienced the past that sometimes our seats will be fragmented and that creates major challenges when you are traveling with young children. However on this particular flight the ride was rough during both takeoff and landing, a lot of side to side shimmy. Also the cabin pressure varied quite a bit during landing causing all the kids to complain about some discomfort in their ears."

She then made my flight a nightmare, until I let her sit in my aisle seat. Demanded that I except any and all alcohol to give to her to drink. When I am tea total she then continued to abuse me. I asked the steward to move me he just shrugged his shoulders and said there was nowhere else. This is definitely my the worst flight I have experienced."

IM STILL WAITING FOR MY REIMBERSTMENT OF MONEY FOR TICKETS

Denied at check-in even though I met all the requirement. This happened due to supervisor at AA(American Airlines) having lack of knowledge in international travel restriction. I tried to show the website that lists the traveling rules but he insisted he knew all the rules and denied my check-in. This also happened to another person in the same flight as well. I think the AA crew needs to hire more knowledgeable supervisor.

When it was finally my turn to submit my bag it literally took 30 seconds. And yet I had to wait an hour. Grade: F-"

It was so bad that when the stewardess came rolling down the aisle with her cart, I had to be aware and see her in advance so I could literally TURN MY BODY OVER TO THE LEFT HALF ON TOP OF THE PERSON SITTING NEXT TO ME SO SHE WOULDN'T TAKE OFF MY ARM AND SHOULDER. ULTIMATELY, SOMEONE, OR MORE THAN ONE PERSON, IS GOING TO GET SERIOUSLY HURT BY THIS RECKLESS, GREED-DRIVEN DESIGN!! The OVERT GREED by the airline (American) clearly reflected by this in trying to JAM as many human beings into a flight as possible like Sardines is DISGUSTING!!! You simply DO NOT TREAT HUMAN BEINGS THIS WAY!! It is also clear evidence that there needs to be tighter standards, regulations and penalties by the FAA and what is allowed by airlines. AND I AM SENDING A LETTER TO THE FAA!!!"

SAS is an extremely neat and organized airline, clear on its promises and very communicative. Of course COVID-19 caused some changes in service levels and available items (water is an optional and paid item while coffee and tea (because of them being hot) complimentary. Attendants were very clear in pointing this out which is highly appreciated.

I was bumped to this flight because SAS canceled the direct flight from Copenhagen then the flight was delayed for an hour because of the new Covid forms and the slow processing from the staff Flight comfort and service was good

I slept through the meal service, but they still made it a point to get me a meal when I woke up. Old fashioned tea and coffee service, with a steward going up and down the aisles with proper tea and coffee pots. Very professional, a high end feel to everything."

I realized the issue the day-of, spent hours on the phone trying to book a different flight through the customer services at FlyUs.com (stupid company!), and was finally rebooked by SAS on a different airline. When I called SAS directly, they immediately took care of the situation and handled it well, but I wasted an entire day dealing with FlyUs.com, waiting on confirmation for a flight that I was never going to receive. The whole experience was awful."

Had to stay in the airport over 11 hours due to this delay and had already had a 16 hour layover from the day before. I realize that unexpected delays may occur, particularly in cases where passenger safety is in question, but delays of more than 5 hours cause major inconvenience and I felt stuck in the airport with my bags and having checked out of my hotel room already. Just compensating for lunch is not enough. In the future a partial reimbursement for the flight, access to the priority lounge or a more comfortable facility such as a hotel would provide the passengers with compensation proportional to the inconvenience."

Cons: "My biggest issue was that my seat didn't recline. 30C. It was quite unpleasant for a 5 hour flight with a large man pushing his seat farther back than it goes, in front of me. The other issue was that one gentleman flight attendant had terrible body odor. He mostly smelled like he'd been sweating, but his uniform was in desparate need of laundering ... particularly the pants. I started to mention to it with the friend that I was traveling with, and she knew what I was going to describe before I said it, despite us not talking during the flight (seats were split apart). I'd also mention - although there may not be anything that can be done - but boarding was a nightmare. A large Chicago flight had a boarding line crossing in front of our gate as we were called to get in line (no zones or row numbers). It was quite slow to be standing for 50 minutes and the entire plane settling into all rows at once."

In particular I appreciated that since my flight from Chicago was delayed and I missed the original connection, as soon as I disembarked in Reykiavick I found an SMS saying that I had been moved to the next available flight, and they even gave me a food voucher."

Cons: "Since I had a sprained ankle, I was given a wheelchair by airport security. I was left by myself at the gate by airport security 2 hours before my flight. The flight crew that was boarding was very attentive to me and asked me many times if I needed any help from them, but I told them that I was taking the next flight, not the one they were boarding for. When it came time to board my flight, none of the crew even paid attention to me, and I had to specifically ask them to get me some assistance with the wheelchair. It was already embarrassing for me in the first place to have to be in a wheelchair, but they made it even harder for me to accept my situation because I had to specifically request assistance from them. I also did not like all of the turbulence on the flight. It was an extremely uncomfortable flight for me for this reason."

This results in each bag costing $70 instead of $50 if done on-line. The check in at both locations was unlike any other airline and just an overall disappointment. The next time I travel to that beautiful country I will try WOW Airlines instead. It can't be any worse."

I paid for the standard ticket ahead of time specifically. Although the staff were nice enough, for a struggling student, this mix-up was unacceptable. I now find myself making calls and trying to get in contact with both Kayak and Icelandair for a refund of the 88euro. I think I was particularly unlucky, because I was picked twice for special security checks, which pulled me out of the line I was waiting in while the flight was delayed, and I had to re-enter the line at the end. Though I requested window seats, I did not receive one either time (though I knew it wasn't guaranteed). The seats were also uncomfortable with a thick unadjustable headrest; and the air quality was terrible, a bit smelly and very dry. As a frequent flyer (who does fly with icelandair occasionally) this was unusual."
Pros: "Believe aircraft was about 2 hours out of Iceland when my 87 yo mother had and emergency being unconscious. The crew jump into action unbelievable and assisted with remarkable training. Thank GOD there was a MD on board from Germany also a paramedic. Crew,MD,Paramedic took over the situation and mother was recovered THANK GOD for the training your attendants are given or surely it would have been a death on board 3 hours until landing in Boston. I was surely a MIRACLE for me and my family. No words can express our the skills of those on board. I only suggestion is that more IV solution should be on board - the bottle was small - but certainly aided in her recovery. THANK YOU THANK YOU ICELAND AIR"

Not the best way to end our trip to Iceland."

Boarding at KEF is a free for all, Iceland style. If the Scandinavians start lining up, get in line. These were not the seats we selected earlier, so we were taken by surprise at being given such terrible seats and offered no options. I will not fly this airline again."
Pros: "I upgraded to Saga class and the service wa first-rate. I really like Icelandair's in-flight entertainment system - it's the best of any plane I have flown. All seats have AC and USB power, and the Saga and Comfort Economy seats, at least, are very comfortable."
Cons: "The line for passport control was enormous, snaking through the corridors, but it moved fairly quickly. I was told that Icelandair holds flights if people are not yet done with passport control. However, once I got to the gate area I was forced to go to the end of a line so long I could not hear announcements nor see the gate display. And finding the right line was a challenge - there were five lines for five gates, extending far past where the signs for the lines were (and the signs were hidden by the people.) When I could finally see the display, it said "Flight closed" even though we were still boarding."

Cons: "too many flights landed at KEF at one time. the iceland customs could not handle all the flights at one time. it seems like the idea/plan to make iceland a primary stopover location was done without determining how many flights could descend on the terminal at one time. i was in a line that was almost all the way down the terminal. we truly were processed quickly - but it gave many around us a lot of stress over thinking they would miss their connecting flights. since i had done this before and the exact same thing happened (too many to process in too short a period of time) i reassured the people around us that icelandair holds the connecting flights until all people were processed. it gives a bad look to iceland and icelandair and i am sure could be remedied by changing some arrival/departure times. again, the idea of having iceland be a primary stopover to put them 'on the map' and glean the revenue from the potential travel is excellent, great marketing strategy - but is iceland air shooting them in the foot if they have implemented this plan without the infrastructure - please pass along to iceland- a country i really loved when i visited before this marketing plan!"

And forget assuming the "crash position" anymore...the seat in front of you prevents that position unless you are 4'8" tall. God forbid the person in front of you reclines their seat...you can't even use your tray table or hold a book to read. 2. Food selection limited, but OK for the short flight."

Cons: "I hated the Keflavik airport. It is undergoing an expansion and has not been able to keep up with the huge number of people and flights that are going through there. There was no seating around the gates. And no one there to manage the crowd,which had to manage itself. The gate agents were confused as to what was going on. Boarding was late, and the pile up on the runway caused further delays. I will not be using Icelandair for the foreseeable future because the airport needs to get its act together. As of now, it is simply not ready to be the major hub that it aspires to be."

Cons: "no seats in the airport; barely enough room to stand; long wait for boarding and totally confusing/interfering messages on airport PA system; chaotic boarding "process"; had to walk out in rain; MUCH more troubling were the elderly and handicapped people who also had to deal with this mess... many of them were in obvious physical pain. unconscionable; entertainment system kept cutting in and out, working for a while, going dark, coming back, then finally dying for good; this took up a great deal of the crew's time; nobody bothered to make a cabin announcement"
