Cons: "Far and away the most uncomfortable and worst value-for-money international flight I've experienced. This plane is so old it should be put in a museum. The warm food was terrible and the non-hot food was completely frozen so even if I wanted to eat it, this wouldn't be possible. Individual seat in-flight entertainment screens have been the norm for many years, yet this plane had the community-style in-flight entertainment. Half of the time, the screens weren't working, which just made matters worse. The total lack of legroom and chair ergonomics made getting comfortable nearly impossible. I was literally in pain sitting in these seats. I live in Prague and visit family in the US often. This was my first experience with American Airlines' newer direct flight option from Prague to Philadelphia; based on the extreme discomfort of the inflight features and to top it off it was the highest price I've paid for a flight back home...(total lack of value for the money! )I would go out of my way to make sure I never take this route again."

However, upon checking in, we found that the seats were not reserved and the fee was a marketing ploy. The airline attempted to separate our family of 3, but luckily it was not a full flight and we were able to sit together with no help from Kayak, JustFly, British Airways, or American. Kayak/JustFly made the experience of traveling overseas with a baby more challenging than it otherwise would have been which is a terrible way to conduct business. We will never be using these services again and will tell family and friends to do the same."

Cons: "My family and I make I JFK -LAX reservation 4 months ago. We came to LAX three hours before our flight to make sure we get good seats. At the checking kiosk we did not have the option to pick seats , there was a message on the boarding pass that said to go see boarding agent. So we did, appreantly they over booked the trip and they were looking for volunteers to give up their seats!! Why did we have to be on stand by if our booking was confirmed 4 months ago!! They made us wait until the gate was closed and then they found us seats . This trip caused us mental anguish I will never fly American Airlines again"

Cons: "This was a code shared operation. Iberia issued my ticket but flight was operated by American Airlines. That made it difficult to reserve my seat in advance, and impossible (literally!) to reserve a special request meal. Online request wouldn't work so I called Iberia. They said they couldn't reserve the meal, I needed to call American. So I called American, they said they couldn't reserve the meal (even though the plane would be catered by their contracted food service-go figure THAT out!) and I should call the travel agent. Called the travel agent, who said I needed to call Iberia! Apparently no one could (or would) be responsible for my satisfaction. So the message here is: Beware the Code Share!"

I love the price; that the flights are direct & almost always on time; that the staff, from the flight attendants to ticket agents, all seem professional, helpful & friendly; and that the planes are clean and seats well cushioned & comfortable."

Altho the base price for the flights is cheap, they charge for "extras", including making your reservation by phone instead of online, printing out your boarding pass &choosing your seat. There's a fee for carry on's as well as regular size luggage. If you don't prepay for your luggage or if your luggage weighs more than 40 lbs, they charge $50, instead of $25. They not only charge for food, but also for water or any beverage. If you are prepared for a no frills flight & are willing to sit separately from your travel companions, etc. then this is a great way to save time (direct flights) and money. I will choose to fly with them again, even tho My husband & I prob. won't get to sit together. If you know what to expect & plan for it, it is a great way to save."

Cons: "It was myself, my wife, and our 18 month old son. The trip was a complete disaster. The first delay was from 12 noon to 7:30 pm because the plane was unavailable. We left the airport and returned at 6 pm for the 7:30 pm departure. The plane was "available." We checked our bags, found our way to the gate, and eventually boarded "ontime." Instead of taking off, however, we sat on board the plane at the gate for 2 hours as work was being done. The work was first called "maintenance," then "a small error code." The captain teased us by saying "folks, just a few more minutes and we should be departing." The crew nourished us with a dixie sized cups of water and Chex mix. Then finally the airline gave up and deplaned everyone. Once deplaned, it was explained to us that they couldn't clear the error code, so they couldn't use that plane. But there was another plane coming from Las Vegas to use so that we could expect a departure around 12 midnight. 12 midnight rolls around. Nothing. 12:30 am. 1 am. Finally, a plane arrives. But then the airline holds us up yet again - turns out we can't depart after all because the arriving airport shuts down at 2 am. Gee, they didn't know that before making us wait another 3 hours??? Now they're offering a refund to anybody who wants one, as well as a hotel for the night and the promise of a flight at 2:30 pm the following day. At this point, many of us are looking up alternative flights to Eugene and even Portland. A $1,000 extra for us. We're not sure whether we can trust Allegiant to have an actual plane ready to go the next day. And we're too tired at that point to even ask why the next flight would be at 2:30 pm rather than first thing in the morning. So finally we line up to get a hotel voucher and find our way to the hotel. It takes over an hour to checkin at the hotel because it's the middle of the night and 150 people just showed up to checkin. We finally get to our room at about 3:30 am. I'm amazed at how well our toddler held up sitting on an airplane for 2 hours, sitting at the airport for about 6 hours, and waiting to fall asleep all night. We eventually made it back to the airport the following afternoon and, praise the lord, made it to our destination. Allegiant - NEVER AGAIN!"

Pros: "I fly this airline airline quite a bit because I have family in the mountains of North Carolina. I have never had a problem with them, I fly out of Fort Lauderdale to Asheville, it's a quick one and a half hour flight. The flight crew is always professional and courteous."

Cons: "Our flight was delayed 4-5 times before it was cancelled all together and rescheduled for the following day. I lost over $200 in hotel charges and valuable time with family. A 3 day trip was decreased to a 2 day trip. Extremely disappointed. After sharing our experience with others we heard the same thing happened them."

Pros: "No hassle. No delays."

Pros: "Wow so nice to have an economical fare to Baltimore! On time, courteous, uneventful flight. Couldn't ask for more."
Cons: "All good"

Pros: "Flight attendants did the best they could; just a bad situation. It happens."
Cons: "Said it was a radio problem, but we were delayed, told we were leaving, delayed, de-planed, changed planes and finally got in nearly four hour late."

Pros: "I had 44 min they wouldn't give me my boarding pass then the flight was delayed to 5:30 and they still wouldn't allow me up."

Pros: "This flight was a return to airline travel in the 1980s in a good way! The plane was clean. The seats are among the most generous seats today. The best and brightest surprise was that each flight attendant was genuinely polite and welcoming."

Pros: "Efficient check in, no hidden fees (all were explained via email well before the flight), fast boarding, take off and unloading. Time left and arrived on time. The staff was extremely friendly."
Cons: "The seats were bare bones and not very comfortable but I guess that's what helps keep costs down."

Pros: "No much"
Cons: "The flight was over 5 hours late. We were supposed to leave at 6:06 PM and didn't leave until about 11:10 PM. We were supposed to get into Asheville at about 8:00 PM, but finally arrived about 1:00 AM. I fly this route frequently and Allegiant has a terrible problem with on-time flights and communications with passengers waiting for their flights. I am not certain what the problem is, but it is a significant issue with them. Captain was "bubbly" and upbeat without properly managing the passengers' expectations. Bad public relations."

Pros: "While I enjoy the fact that Allegiant offers direct flights to Laredo at an affordable price, the planes really need to be updated."
Cons: "We really disliked that we boarded the plane and just before taking off they made us get off again and never did confirm the real reason. The planes really need better maintenance since this is the second time in two weeks we have to change planes due to problems."

Cons: "Sat on runway for 45 minutes with no updates"

Pros: "Plane arrived on time"

Pros: "The flight was quick for the time we were in the air."
Cons: "This flight was delayed by over an hour. The plane is tiny so overhead space barely fits a briefcase and the seats are smaller than normal. Since this is a smaller aircraft, unfortunately that is expected."

Cons: "Again, left stranded in SC."

Cons: "Not having had to be on a connecting flight in a totally different terminal 20 minutes after I land in Newark."

Pros: "I paid for an Economy Plus seat and was three rows back from the galley and you would have thought the rows around me were prisoners. We were completely ignored by the flight crew. I had to actually go up and ask my own coffee and water. I saw one flight attendant yell at the person seating next to me, because she got up to go to the bathroom, after the "fasten seat belt" sign was off but the flight attendant was not aware of it. Basically everyone was rude."

Cons: "No WiFi on the short flight/old plane? I really like the free United movies to keep my mind off being up in the air. Wish it was standard on all their flights. It was also weird that the pilot came out of the cockpit before the flight and addresses us all using the crew mic. It was weirdly uncomfortable since it has never happened on any of the other 10,000 flights I have taken. Made me think something was wrong."

Cons: "Custom agents were rude."

Cons: "Seats were hard and stiff with no padding on the backrest. There was minimal room and even less overhead storage. The seats were in between the windows so you couldn’t really see outside of someone else shut the window on you. Thein"

Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "Service, and long wait to take off."

Pros: "The flight’s crew was very efficient, and the flight arrival and departure was close to what was promised."
Cons: "The check-in was done by machine and the ticketing crew didn’t mention that the luggage was going directly to destination nor was my gate info for the second leg of my journey printed on my ticket. You’d figure United would know this info a few hours prior to departure."

Pros: "I don't know why the 2-seats-per-side planes are so much more comfortable than the 3-per-side ones, but it was a much better experience than my previous one. As far as economy seats go, it was about as comfortable as I've had."

Pros: "A+"

Pros: "Staff in Syracuse where awsome from the guy at the united check in Guest to the TSA Gal who had to give us a patdown super sweet and helpful."

Pros: "everything was on time and no one got kicked off of the flight!"

Cons: "Severe lack of legroom. In my 45 years of flying I have never seen such outrageous lack of space. Callous attitude when I approached management about it afterwards. Because of this I will not fly United again ."

Cons: "No gate number listed on boarding passes in SYR plane arrived and departed early with no communication to myself. Missed the flight"

Cons: "Flight was delayed almost 3 hours. There were no snacks provided. Snack paid for was stingy and not very good. Flight attendant needed to be reminded several times that I had ordered and paid for a beverage. Not a good first experience departing on United from Newark."

Pros: "The gate agent in Syracuse was a huge help. I have a service dog and he was very helpful and considerate."

Pros: "Paying for extra leg room"
Cons: "Customer service is terrible. I dislike 'having' to travel to Midwest. Options are terrible. Delays, delays. No leg room"

Cons: "The pilot's landing was way too fast. I was sure that the plane would come to a stop in Hwy 280 at the end of the Asheville runway. That plane probably needed a major brake job after that landing. We ended up at the absolute very end of the runway!"

Cons: "Flight was 3 1/2 hours delayed. Missed my original connection. Missed the second connection because (as the attendants told us) they were unable to get ANY flight information to inform the passengers of where their connecting flight was. They were also pretty snotty and acted like it was our fault that we might miss a flight. I'm now sitting in Houston for the final flight of the day."

Pros: "Although the seats were cramped the cushion was comfortable. The flight attendant was very personable."

Cons: "That they gave my seat from Chicago - Denver to someone else. Was sitting in the waiting area. Waiting to be called in, couldn't understand the person talking. They also did it to another person. Will never fly United again after this trip!!"

Pros: "I loved that the flight was direct from Chicago to Asheville. I will tend to fly more often without the stops."
Cons: "Plane had to have the bathroom serviced and we had to switch planes after boarding. On a positive note they found another plane for us very quickly and did not make us sit on the plane while it was repaired."

Pros: "I actually liked the smaller plane! There was more room on the flight than I expected"

Cons: "My flight was originally at 10:25am and got moved due to fog to 11:00am which is understandable. But the plane gets in and the captain comes off and says he's clocked off. And that the next captain wouldn't be getting in till 2:40. I would think they would've had enough time to line up another captain knowing the fog was causing delays. It made me miss my flight to Houston. I just really think this all could've been avoided"

Pros: "Entertainment options"
Cons: "United chamged our arrival gate without a crew to man the jet way. So we sat for 20 mins this missing our connection flight."

Pros: "Airline paid him"
Cons: "Everything went wrong on this flight! My son is a freshman student at Syracuse, was forced to spend two days (!) waiting for next flight."

Cons: "How can united cancel my return reservation after they delayed my arrival flight forcing me to jump in a car and drive the 3 hrs I could have driven earlier that day! i choose to fly to make life easier but due to the service I would rather use a different airline or just drive to ensure I'll be at my destination on time."

Cons: "Having to walk a LONG distance from one terminal to the next and almost missing my flight due to delays. Then we had a delay from the bridge from plane to the airport was not working!!!"

Pros: "I missed my flight due to an unexpected car accident. The first two Kayak agents I delt with tried their best to help me by calling United and getting the fees waived for me, but they had no luck.The third agent was successful. All three agents were wonderful, compassionate and wanted to help. The third agent was successful and I appreciate all that was done for me."

Pros: "The flight attendant was excellent! So kind, caring and attentive."

Cons: "The crew was terrible. We sat on the Tarmac for over an hour, very limited information. Flight attendants were asked for ETA several times in flight and never gave any information to passengers. At one point saw them taking selfies in the front of the plane service area. Worst service I've ever had in a flight"

Pros: "Everything. We were held up in traffic and United was so accommodating. We were in awe"

Cons: "On both legs of my flight, I watched an hour of a movie on my iPad using United's app, and then the network failed. And I couldn't get the first movie on the second leg, so I couldn't finish either. Very frustrating."

Pros: "The plane was clean, flight was smoothe, cost was good."
Cons: "Made me check my carry on because they stated there was no room which was not the case when I walked on ( found at least 6 spots). I requested to at least be able to look for myself seeing as how my seat was in the very back, but they refused. Also, allowed many customers to store their personal bag ( their backpack) in the bins that were oversized which should have counted as their carry on, just allowed them because they wanted to. They should have made those individuals check their "carry on". Also limited snacks available by the time they were able to provide service to my area of the plane."

Cons: "We got on board, waited 20 minutes. Capt said it was a bad reverser, and we were waiting on paperwork for 15 minutes. Long story short, they make us leave the plane after 2.5 hours. Then we wait in the airport for another 2.5 hours. I missed my connection and spent 10 hours in Chicago."

Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "Everything. I had a very tight schedule to visit my friends in canada. What was supposed to be a quick flight turned into almost 24 hours of travel and ariving 12 hours late. I was lucky to have 3 days in with my friends now i only have 2. Not to mention what was supposed to be an inexpensive trip turned i to an expensive one when you are forced to eat airport food after being constantly re routed. I bought my ticket based on ariving to ottawa in the morning this however was not the case. I will be seeking a refund."

Cons: "Genie: Phenomenal cosmic powers! [shrinks down inside the lamp] (plane) Genie: Itty bitty living space!"

Pros: "The fact that I had to rent a car and drive ... When I bought a flight ticket."

Cons: "Plane was too hot, and then way to cold. This seems to be a re-occurring problem. I am not sure why the plane can't just be set to be be 68-72 degrees. There is no need for it to be above 80 or less than 60."

Cons: "Absolutely not enough room to stretch your legs"

Pros: "The crew that helped get everyone booked on another flight did an outstanding job. Too bad we had to sit around for 3 hours to find out that the flight was canceled."
Cons: "Not enough communication as to the flight being canceled. Too long to inform us that it was canceled. We were told that the flight was always on time with the exception of the past few days. We were told that the service was starting to slip."
