Great crew, Japanese domestic flight is just a drink service but crew are very attentive
First of all I had dozed off. And when I woke up, my food was on a tray without telling me the food was there or asking me if I wanted something to drink. They never came back to ask me if I wanted anything to drink and I tried to stop them several times. I personally have a problem swallowing food without something to drink with it. so therefore I could not eat., second thing for the entertainment. There was no place to plug the headset in because the tip had been broken off into the monitor to where you couldn’t even watch a movie or hear any music that was annoying .
I didn’t like the check in process I had to check in at the counter took too much time . Didn’t give the upgrade my seat .
JAL is a flawless airlines. Perfect customer service. On-time boarding, clean airlines, and incomparable in-flight dining.
It was one of the best experiences. The staff were amazing. JAL is my second favorite Asian Carrier I have flown on. Korean Air was my first. Thank you JAL for bringing me home safely and for such an amazing staff and service.
JAL is quite nice in business class. Comfortable, spacious seats. Their entertainment, especially their film selection, isn’t that great though as their are not many new releases like some airlines offer their first and business class customers. . Food is excellent and the option to order on demand is always quite nice, which JAL offers. Flight attendants were very friendly and kind. Overall very good experience with JAL.
Very comfortable unlike my first trip where they switched my flight from JAL to AA which was a disaster!
1 hour late for unknown reasons. Passengers were not told why. We sat in the plane, I felt the 7 hour flight turned into an 8 hour flight.
This flight was delayed approximately 4 hours due to bad weather in HNL.
The flight was cold. The entire time, the food was nothing more than a cheese hot pocket. They wanted to sell everything else midway during the flight. They said that we were landing in a half hour and then added that we had to return to Honolulu, but gave no reason why. I was so scared I was crying. I didn’t know until we landed that it was because of an unruly passenger that we had to turn around. The crew was very cold about it, and we had to wait in the airport where they gave us snacks, which was nothing more than a bag of pretzels and a fruit juice
Flight delayed then cancelled then gate changed two times then baggage lost.
The plane is extremely loud and there’s no place to charge devices.
Not great to be very honest. Our flight was delayed after we sat at the airport until 15 minutes after we were supposed to leave . We were then notified the plane was being worked on “and the parts were out in the ground and still not finished .” Even though the work started the evening before and they knew it wasn’t fixed. . Then we were told it would be a 1:15 pm boarding time so we waited then at 1:45pm we were told it would be an 11:15pm boarding . It was changed to and 3:55am boarding the next morning . We lost out on a day in Hawaii and a night of our VRBO rental.

Seats on second leg from Hawaii to Tokyo would not recline. 9 hrs is long in total upright position.
Apparently the computer systems were down, so I wasn’t able to check in 24 hours in advance, despite multiple times on the app, the website, and by calling. Then I arrived at the airport and wasn’t assigned a seat right away. I had to wait until I was at the gate and waited about another hour for an agent. She was nice to give me a “free upgrade.“.
The crew worked to help us find standby seats and we were able to arrive at our destination early which was great. Only drawback is airport at Kona which is in need of update - waiting at gate passengers exposed to jet fumes, there’s only one restaurant with minimal choices, etc
