It’s true bring the minimum in clothing and extra luggage. The hotels even offer nightly pajamas and slippers (hilton). Most hotels have laundry access for customers. Also, the international terminal has very cheap souvenirs- seriously 1/2 the stuff I was searching for (magnets, tshirts, shopping bags, Kirby, hello kitty, gundam etc) was cheaper and all in the bottom floor ( before security). They’re even a decent gochapon store if you still have yen’s burning a hole in your pocket.

If arriving at Haneda from another airport in Japan for an international flight, make sure you have enough time to get to the international terminal. It takes at least 15mins to get to with the airport shuttle. Airport shuttle is a little hard to find in the lower level of the airport.

I have not flown other flights to Tokyo, so I have not much to add here. I did appreciate the option of a direct flight to your destination. Having to connect to another flight is at minimum a 2 hour add to your traveling time to an already long flight. Even though a connecting flight you have been more economical, the saved time will s worth the slightly extra cost to me.

Haneda Airport was most convenient for me. My friend lives in Chiba so Haneda was closer to drop me off. There was a monorail if coming by train, so that came be convenient too. Check in was a breeze and also ANA accepts luggage forwarding service from our hotel which made it more convenient too!

Haneda airport now handles most of the international traffic. It's much closer to downtown Tokyo. Narita is 45-55 minutes out of town. Do online and complete you immigration documentation before your flight. Print the QR code and the machine will scan it along with your passport. Much faster.

Service and the plane itself were terrific, but the extensive delays both before we left and after were a real pain.

It was good and there is nothing to complain about .

The seats were narrower compare to other airlines traveling to Asia, which makes them uncomfortable after 6 hours The plane was worn, my tray table wasn’t level, You had to pay for WiFi and no Bluetooth option to use your own headphones. The crew was excellent in servicing the food and drinks. However I felt they needed some extra hands to serve the two sections of economy at the same time. They run out of one of the food option as they got to the rear section of the plane. Having travel on other Asian airlines during this trip; American Airlines can learn a bit from them, but I wonder if their service is geared towards a clientele that has become accustomed to not expect to much from an airline.

The crew was great, food was good. My concern is about the plane itself. It wasn't super clean, and during the landing process (after attendants had to take their seats) the air conditioning vent above my daughter's head started leaking a lot of water. It leaked for about 30 minutes, until we landed. I let the attendant know about the leak as we were getting off the plane, and she was very kind about saying she'd look into it. Given concerns about hygiene on planes, plus the fact that my daughter had to hold the blanket over her for 30 minutes to avoid getting soaked, that was not a great situation.

I paid for premium and it’s wasn’t what I was told I would be getting. Food wasn’t good. Should be able to pick and not be served items you dislike. Very little leg room.

I am trying to select a seat during booking but it respond that set assigment will be given during check in, and the seat assignment they give is in the middle seat and 2 row from the rest rooms, i am the person who pee a lot in this case I disturb so much the person beside me ,this trip is from Haneda to Texas, the trip from Texas to Cvg is a much better because its a smaller plane few passenger

Their in0flight movie selection is limited in size and poor in quality.

Japan airlines is a great airline. One of my favorites. The only issue I had was that I only pescatarian or I can eat vegetables, pasta, etc and both choices of meals were chicken or red meat. Most of other airlines have meat or pasta. Also usually I get an alert to order a meal prior to fly and this time I did not get one. Other than that everything was wonderful.

Boarding and crew service were excellent. Food was mediocre, not as good as our last trip four years ago.

Great level of comfort and highly professional and friendly flight crew. Keep up the great service.

I enjoyed the flight, but a little too much turbulence on the flight. Thank you for the meal and entertainment. This kept my kids entertain during the flight. I have to admit comparing the crew from ANA vs United, there was a sense of more accomodation, friendliness and service compared to United crew. I felt for the United crew, it was just a job and it can be seen in there demeanor and delivery.

Attendants were very kind and frequently offered water and snacks. Food was excellent. For some reason, my IFE system would not play dialogue for any media despite my efforts to change to different language voiceovers, restart the system, etc. so I could not watch any videos.

Choice of movies dated as with the screens. Major room for improvement on the software to sort and select choices.

Although the crew was eventually very good, they complained loudly about EVERYTHING before the takeoff. Did not set the stage for a good trip in business class. The western meal choices were pretty mediocre as were the wine choices. We took an ANA flight to Tokyo and they were outstanding!

I liked the flight over all. Towards the middle of the flight. There was a flight attendant who felt like they were rushing to had out vegetarian wraps and said they were “sandwiches”. She also handed out hand we wanted the water but she was walked so fast we didn’t get any. We sat in the seat 45 E & D. And towards the last 30 minutes of the flight there was an announcement saying the crew would collect trash. No one ever came around. So held on to the trash until we landed and left in the seats.!

As always, there is that one or two flight attendants that could be better.

I loved everything about my experience!!! The staff were absolutely incredible. I can not wait to fly again with them.

ANA split my family of 4 by seating us each separately which didn't seem to make much sense. Both ways we were not seated together and the glitch int he online check in system meant we could not change our seats or get boarding passes without seeing a person at the airport counnter. The staff however offered good service in the air.

The seats were broken for several of us on this flight not to mention dirty. Quite unacceptable for the price point and expectation level. The meat was so hard it could hardly be cut so terribly unappealing. The united lungs in SFO was dirty and the bathroom conditions were down right disgusting. Nothing about this experience makes me want to book with United again. Our experiences with business class on Lufthansa and British Airways far out perform United in comparison. Truly disappointing!

They did not get back tickets in time about flight varification so i had to purchase another one way ticket to get home soxas rocnot Risk being unable to return home.

The internet that was free was terrible, the turbulence was pretty bad - uncontrollable I know.

Crew helpful. Plenty of food although not great but ok. Good time.

This long-haul international flight was the most comfortable among any of the same kind of flight operated by an American-headquartered airline - second to none!

My requested wheelchair never appeared. So many entertainment choices yet, I found little of interest and no internet option to search on my own. Both were minor issues.

Delta is better for short flights and very low need for customer service. Avoid for longer flights

I notice that every time I fly delta or any American carrier, the staff seem tired, overworked, and not at the service level I’m accustomed to in Asia. They frequently crash into my arm when coming down the aisle. Food is shoved at my face with no greeting or verbal cue. The food portions seemed much smaller than usual and didn’t see much wine or beverage options. This is comfort plus? The plane was old and tired. The bathroom was dripping with mineral stains after a long lack of cleaning. The power socket did not work, although the USB output did. I really wonder why I’m flying Delta, I think it’s time to switch to ANA.

I was sitting at comfort +. One of the Asian male crew was so loud when he delivered service. When he asked questions or what food you need, he was shouting. He must be a prison guard before going Delta.

I was surprised to have such bad service since I feel Delta usually does a good job for long haul flights, but this experience was quite bad. Onboarding was chaotic, the flight was uncomfortable as the cabin temp swung from very cold to steaming hot, and the attendants were rude and inattentive.

Why, on an 11+ hour flight, is the food being served at a speed resembling a 90-minute flight? Flight crew practically threw our food at us, then cleaned it up before everyone was done. All, presumably, so that they could retreat away for the next 7 hours to be completely unavailable. No additional beverages were served for hours. Delta is supposed to be the premium American carrier, but on this flight, it made me wish I was flying someone else. Also, the “upgrade” to comfort+ is a joke. It was worse than Japan Airline’s lowest level economy class. Literally no comparison between these two airlines. I wouldn’t fly Delta from Tokyo again unless I absolutely had to. Very disappointing amenities and service!

delta lost my bag with $3k worth of stuff in it 😂😂😂😂

The crew was the worst ive ever had in my life flying with United Airlines, letting another person move my bag without asking and then the staff saying would the floor be better after I kept begging saying dont move my bag it has fragile things inside. This incident truly makes me they favor other customers more and I dont want to worry about being on the tail end. Especially if they dont listen any input, no care for what I asked but accommodated those who are reckless and disturb others more...

Referencing ANA'S service to Japan and the return on UA, the pillow was awful, the crew was not very attentive, and the food was bizarre and tasted okay. Whoever's idea it was to make vegetable tempera in a steam capsule should probably revisit that. Since it was the vegetarian option, it was my only choice.

Broken tray table. Erratic service. Premium economy is more economy than premium- other airlines treat PE much better. No lounge access.

Flew steerage class. Short on leg room unless you pay more. No window unless you pay more. Etc. United is trying to squeeze every cent from you. It doesn’t make for any loyalty.

Staff were not attentive, wifi did not work, cut my head in the bathroom due to the position of the soap on the sink, had blood running down my face, told staff, they had no expression no sympathy, didn't even say "sorry", they said "oh we will have a look at that" about 10 mins later the purser brought me a bandaid, still no sorry.... Shocking

Dinner was good, but the breakfast served in the morning was horrible.

Food and drink service was very low quality. The flight attendants in business class must have been short some staff. Service was sluggish and not much English was spoken

Food was awful. TV didn’t work for long haul flight and my husband needed credit. Staff was nice and did their best but overall conditions were very uncomfortable.

I liked that it was on time, however, the food was not good.

2000 USD for a 10 hour flight on the worst seats I've ever flown in.

Business class seats were quite old. Flight departure was delayed . Food service was good

Our aircraft arrived late into Tokyo from Vancouver, so departure was delayed slightly for cabin cleaning and preparation. After boarding the full flight, we experienced an additional delay due to de-icing, which was an unexpected but necessary step. The pilot advised that the first two hours would likely include light to moderate turbulence, which proved accurate. As a result, cabin service was understandably delayed. This isn’t a complaint — simply a summary of the circumstances. Once we passed through the rough patch, the remainder of the flight was smooth, our pre ordered vegan meals were good and we arrived in YVR close to the expected time. Kudos to the crew for working professionally and diligently throughout the situation. Will fly again long haul with Air Canada.

Terrible, delayed flights lost luggage and lost hotel fees. Missed meetings. Overnight in airport every air canada flight was a cluster mess.

As we were boarding the plane, there was an unknown substance on my seat. We requested that the cabin crew clean the substance off of the seat, but a member by the name of "Julia" asked us, "Why should I clean this mess up?". She then proceeded to ignore us for the duration of the flight, even asking one of her colleagues to serve us during the meal service instead.

Excellent. I could change my flight and cone back a day earlier. Everything was great thanks 😊

Service well, but some problems then the flight has delayed 1h more

Awful. No running water on the plane. Bathroom extremely grimy, panels taped into place. Breakfast eggs with a terrible texture.

I had a fine time, but when I booked my tickets, I chose my seats. I had picked specific seats. When I checked in, I learned that my seats were gone, they'd put me in random seats instead. I didn't care for the flight from Toronto to Philly, but for Haneda to Toronto, I was very uncomfortable in a middle seat instead of an aisle seat.

Good experience. I like the precise information about boarding and baggage by mail and texts

Air canada definitely needs to get better with their timing for flight as our first flight time was changed and moved earlier and flight from hnd to yyz was delayed by like 1.5hrs
