overall the experience was great
i would recommend notifying the gate and sending map of the airport before traveling. Airport is quite big and not much time to catch the next flight
they provide such a great service so that I cannot find anything else to complain.
Entertainment, and the plane which felt really new and comfy.
Food was a bit boring (because it was such a short flight, I suppose)

they keep the cabin a bit too hot, need to ask them all the time to make it colder
I'm 6 ft 2. Legspace was adequate, and no silly boxes under the seats like other airlines that obstruct your feet. Great entertainment systems - modern, good selection. Food and staff excellent.
Their online checkin systems could operate a bit more smoothly. At one point, I had to go in in person, because the online checkin site had an already past flight from their codeshare partner SAS showing up as the next flight, and I couldn't perform online checkin as a result.
Food was good. Flight attendants were good.
Tiny beds in business class with two-across seating so the window passenger has to climb over the aisle passenger. Are they stuck in the 90s? I won't fly with them again. Boarding in Beijing for Manila was a free for all. Business class was not called first. Isn't this why I pay triple the coach fare? No English language newspapers from Los Angeles to Beijing.
Goof food and service
The flight was delayed by 95 minutes, which screw up my schedule badly..
I was given the chicken dinner when I asked for the beef one - did not realize until the flight attendant was far away so I couldn't switch. This was a 13 hr flight - attendants did not offer water during the flight. No video options in English, only 1 channel on the screen on my seat, movie played on screen in front for all passengers to watch.
Agent was VERY helpful and helped me to change my seat so that I could have an aisle. She also made sure I had the aisle seat on my connecting flight
Breakfast was not good unfortunately
I am incredibly happy with my Air China experience. Crew worked diligently to create a good experience, and was kind when I was having difficulty communicating. The food was surprisingly fabulous! Authentic Chinese cuisine and tasty. Several passengers did not review the regulations and were pretty rude when Air China crew told them to turn off and put away cell phones. Crew handled this well.
Bathrooms were not very clean. I didn't realize until halfway through the flight that we needed to get our own beverages and throw away our own trash (different than the other airlines)- would have appreciated this being announced. I was confused during boarding process about when to stand and when to board, but watched the people around me and figured it out. We took off late/ landed late, but I was able to make my connection in Beijing without any stress so was happy.
