Try to select an aisle seat in the middle row specifically a G seat as these seats do not have such devices underneath."

She didnt ask which meal I wanted and went a head and got me the hamburger and Gratin choice, there was no utensils provided and another 25 minutes went by with no one responding to the flight attendant alarm (a whole episode of the big bang theory went by) , when I finally got utensils they were dirty and so I sent them back and by the time a new clean set was provided the food was cold and then appeared this amazing attendant, he appologized and explained that it was not his section and provided me with another meal in a timely manner"

Crew were very nice and hadn't developed the officious, chip-on-the-shoulder attitude common among many United flight attendants. Aer Lingus crews have always been lovely."

She said because my flight was one way to Europe I had to have an onward flight, even though I was traveling by car outside of Europe. She said that they would ask me for it at customs when I arrived in Europe. Well they have never asked me for this before, and they did not ask me this time either when I arrived, so this whole exercise was pointless. When I called to get my ticket refunded, they also charged me a $25 fee for refunding the ticket, which the agent in NY did not tell me about. So I just ate $60 for no reason. In addition, the customer service person was very rude about the whole thing."

My declared luggage arrived two days later, after a ton of phone calls to the airline. To make things worse, the jack of the earphone given by the airline broke inside my computer and I can't listen to it anymore. Could it be worse? Yes, but that doesn't help me a bit."

Cons: "The overall travel plan as developed for the TAP flight from Boston to Lisbon with a commuter flight change over in Lisbon to Valencia does not leave ample time to go through customs in Lisbon and allow for commuter boarding at the lower level gates as well. The time allocated was 1 hour and 15 minutes. The scenario played out az follows: TAP left Boston 30 minutes later than scheduled. This delay made it impossible to get through customs and be on board the commuter flight 15 minutes before departure. Bear in mind, on the commuter flights your also lose time by having to be bussed out to the aircraft. We and several others missed our flight to Valencia. TAP placed us on a flight to Bilbao that was scheduled to leave approximately 6 hours later. We then were placed on an Iberia flight from Bilbao to Valencia. Only 1 piece of luggage made it to Valencia. The other 2 pieces of luggage were left behind in Lisbon. It was apparent that even all of the luggage failed to be loaded on the TAP commuter flight for Valencia. We arrived in Valencia approximately 12 hours later than scheduled with only one piece of luggage. We returned to the airport the following afternoon given that our remaining two bags were to arrive after 3:30 PM. The real disappointment here is on our return flight from Valencia to Lisbon, they have cut down the transfer time down from 1 hour and 15 minutes to 1 hour and 5 minutes!! What are they thinking?? If we do not connect in time i.e., our flight leaves late from Valencia, we will obviously arrive late in Lisbon and miss our connection to Boston. Thereafter we will miss our scheduled transport ride back home to Rhode Island. I very much doubt that I will use TAP ever again as a carrier to Europe."

Once I landed in Lisbon after the second flight that o wasn’t supposed to take. We missed the connection by 5 minutes and there were many people flying to my same destination. I had to wait 5 hours in Lisbon when I shouldn’t have ever went to Lisbon. I bought a ticket from Newark to Zürich through Porto 10 hours in total. I think TAP overbooked everyone and seated us on purpose. The secondflight was delayed due to “bad weather” and it was perfectly nice outside. Shame on TAP. I’m sure other people are complaining."

A trip from New Jersey to Venice ended up taking OVER 24 HOURS!!!! Due to the disgraceful disorganization and service of TAP PORTUGA we missed our best friends rehersal dinner a memory we would have loved to have. Extremely disorganized, terrible customer service OH AND WE HAD TO PAY FOR OUR BAGS TWICE to get reimbursed later but I don’t believe anything Tap Portugal says so we’ll see. Staff advice did not align and they were unapologetic for the experience we received."

Cons: "My wife and I arrived to the airport for our honeymoon extremely excited. We had been saving for our trip to Italy for months, and we were finally going to get things started. Everything fell apart when we went to check in and we were told that my wife couldn’t use her ticket because she had changed her last name. We were told that there was no way that the name on the ticket could be changed because of TSA regulations. Of course, we were also told that we could have changed the name had we purchased a more expensive ticket. In other words, we were lied to and told the issue was regulation, when really they wouldn’t help us because we couldn’t afford a more expensive ticket. The only help we were given was the pleasure of paying over $1,500 more to get my wife on the flight. I am in the process of trying to get this refunded, but as of now we have paid twice for my wife to fly, and neither ticket has been refunded. We may have accidentally broken a rule, but the only function that rule seems to have is to make us pay twice for the same seat. As of now, I would never fly this airline again, and I would warn everyone away from it. I will update this post if TAP does the right thing by two honeymooners."

Cons: "To start off our trip we weren't allowed to get on the plane until an hour after our boarding time. After we were allowed on, the air conditioning was not working and continued to sit on the tarmac not even leaving our terminal for another two hours. Within this two hours there were many elderly people asking for help and one specific gentleman whom was in his late 70s, informed the people around him that he had a pacemaker was pleading to get some air conditioning to the point where 6 people on the airplane were fanning him off. It was 90 degrees in the airplane and we had been sitting in the plane without any help even pleading with the attendents to let the elderly off so they did not pass out. Once we reached the 2 hour mark without any ac the gentleman in his late 70s was beginning to lose consciousness and many people had to call the emergency services, and the crew on flight TP214, tried to tell us everything was fine while the plane was pulling away from the terminal ... as they were giving the man oxygen, even though the elderly gentleman had lost the ability to communicate verbally and was about to pass out. They had to pull the plane back off the tarmac fully delaying us 3 hours in the process making us miss our other two flights. Once we were finally in the air for the 6 hour flight our entertainment system was not working so we were left to twiddle our thumbs for the remainder of the trip. It really ruined what seemed to be an exciting trip and I highly doubt we would ever take TAP Portugal ever again or recommend it to anyone no matter the price."
