FAQs - booking Lithuania flights

  • Are there non-stop flights to Lithuania?

Currently, there are no direct flights from the U.S. to Lithuania. However, if you want to take the shortest time possible to arrive in Lithuania, choose one that only involves one stop along the way. You will find a number of one-stop flights to Lithuania from Los Angeles, Chicago, or New York. The one-stop flights from Chicago and Los Angeles have VNO as the arrival airport, while those from New York have PLQ as the arrival airport.

  • Which other cities can I visit after landing at Vilnius Airport?

When you land at Vilnius Airport, you can conveniently explore several other cities served by the airport other than Vilnius. For instance, you can visit Baltoji Voke, Grigiskes, and Lentvaris, which are 20 miles, 8.8 miles, and 12.2 miles from Vilnius, respectively. When you are booking your flight to Lithuania, that’s also a good time to explore the available transportation options to get from Vilnius to these other cities.

  • Do you require a visa to fly to Lithuania?

American citizens visiting Lithuania for business or tourism purposes for periods not exceeding 90 days do not require visas. They only need to have valid passports when booking their flights to Lithuania from any part of the U.S. The passport must have at least two blank pages.

  • At which airport in Lithuania should I land to have convenient access hotels with complimentary airport shuttles?

Consider landing at Kaunas International Airport if you want to enjoy free airport shuttle services from various hotels. These services help to save on your transportation costs and provide greater convenience, especially if you are new to Lithuania. Hermes Hotel Kaunas is one of the hotels you should consider when you land at KUN. The hotel’s shuttle can pick you up from the airport and drop you back whenever you want.

  • Which Lithuania-bound airlines are suitable when traveling with kids?

If you are traveling with your kids to Lithuania, one of the airlines you should consider booking is KLM. You will enjoy a lower cost on tickets for children ages 10 and younger. During the booking process, once you indicate that you are traveling with kids, the reduction automatically is reflected in the pricing.

  • Does Lithuania have active child seat laws and regulations for those self-driving from VNO?

Yes. If you are planning to do the driving yourself and bring your children upon arriving at VNO from the U.S., remember that the country has strict regulations about child seat safety. Top tips for finding cheap flights to Lithuania

  • Enter your preferred departure airport and travel dates into the search form above to unlock the latest Lithuania flight deals.
  • Lithuania has three arrival airports for flights from the U.S. Among them, Vilnius Airport (VNO) records the highest frequency of daily flights. Located in the capital of Lithuania, Vilnius Airport offers the benefit of enhanced convenience for those who want to visit other cities in Lithuania.
  • The main layover airport for one-stop flights to Lithuania is Helsinki-Vantaa International Airport (HEL), in Finland. For those flights that make two stops before arriving in Lithuania, HEL is the first layover airport, and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), which is located in the Seattle-Tacoma area of Washington, is the second layover airport.
  • Consider landing at Palanga International Airport (PLQ) or Kaunas International Airport (KUN) if you want to enjoy fast and convenient security checks and clearance when you visit Lithuania. Very few flights to Lithuania from the U.S. have PLQ or KUN as their arrival airports. Consequently, you will experience shorter queues at the various security checkpoints in the airport.
  • The number of stops you will make when flying to Lithuania depends on the airline you book. If you book American Airlines or Finnair, you will be making at least two stops before landing at Vilnius Airport. If you want to make only one stop before arriving in Lithuania, consider booking British Airways.
  • If you are traveling to Lithuania from the West Coast of the U.S., consider departing from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Finnair and British Airways are two of the airlines that you can use when flying to Lithuania from LAX.
  • Vilnius Airport serves as a hub for Australian Airlines. It receives the highest number of daily Australian Airlines’ flights from the U.S. In addition, it is easier to connect from this airport to other countries neighboring Lithuania, including Latvia and Belarus, using Australian Airlines.
  • Catching one of the flights that arrive in Lithuania early in the morning is good if you are coming to the country for the first time and are not familiar with the transportation options and accommodations available. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York as the departure airport.

Outstanding even though the 330 was one of the oldest in the fleet. The difference was the attentiveness and responsiveness of a really experienced flight attendant. For airline food great variety of interesting choices and good tastes supported by a good wine selection.

Brand new plane lots of room the snack was very flavourful and enjoyable

There were no charge points for phones on the economy seats. The seats were comfortable overall. Food was okay.. flight was on time

The flight was delayed. The aircraft was unclean. Promised seat was not given due to change in Aircraft. Not one crew on ground was in a position to give any response. Amsterdam Airport is AVIODABLE Over crowded. Over Expensive. Poor Services.

The crew were unprofessional with a racist element. I was physically abused as well from one of the crew members

I’m grateful for the KLM Air France shuttle bus service to Ottawa. However due to construction and other issues related to the chaotic Uber pickup system at YUL, it’s a challenge to find the Kelios bus service to Ottawa. The signs are not clear or even available. No staff to guide passengers. It’s a stressful experience.

Flight was on time, staff are friendly and helpful onboard.

Flight was ok but lack of communication cost me to literally beg to be put on another flight as connecting flight had departed

They forgot to serve food and the crew was very unfriendly. Never experienced such a bad KLM flight. Usually fly from Toronto. New York was different.

The immigration hall in Amsterdam was understaffed, so passport checking was slower than it should be for a major airport. They need to get the automatic readers up and running for non EU passport holders. Waiting in line after a long flight feels a bit abusive.

Amazing crew, delicious food and drink selection. 12hr felt more like a 4hrs. Comfortable beds. Can’t wait for the new business class cabin

Every time I fly LOT, I swear I will never do it again. And changing planes in Warsaw is a horror. Not even remotely organized. I can only feel sorry for the staff who have to put up with it.

My information was stolen, and someone used my card to purchase airline tickets. Everything has been submitted to my bank, and the police. Thank you!!

The seat was paid for but given for some different person .

Krakow airport is very disorganized. nice seats. friendly crew. long legs had screens. short leg did not

Stuck on a plane for 6 hours due to a technical or mechanical issue.

Boarding was a madhouse. Airport staff was completely disinterested in communicating about the delays. Never again.

The seats are very narrow. Communication regarding bids for better seating could be better

Although I was flying in business class, the feeling, comfort and in general the whole experience was like flying in a low cost airline. Boarding by. Us, no priority to business class passengers. The plane was very old and looked poor and rely old. Seats do not recline. Space between rows very small. No separation between business class and economy. No separate toilet for business class passengers. Of course no entertainment, no WiFi and no charging. Very bad experience

Flight was delayed for a hour from Warsaw, not sure why. When we landed in Chicago, plane was still on the runway for about half a hour. Took a while to get off.

They lost my luggage and can’t find it. My trip is ruined. Online tracking of lost luggage doesn’t work

No free Wi-Fi. I have SkyMiles but not a high status, having an account has been enough for Wi-Fi on other flights, but this one was going to charge me to use it. Also turbulence was really bad toward the end, but I didn't count this in my ratings since I know Delta cannot control the weather - it's 2026 and lack of WiFi alone is enough for a poor rating.

The stewardess was incredibly rude. The gave you only one drink with dinner.

Cancelled flight, wasn't refunded paid selected seats. Poor customer service. Called airline and they didn't realize the flight was cancelled until several hours after the email notice was sent.

The worst with the trip was the space in economy, my knees are still hurting. There was no way to control personal air by turning a knob above you, it was way to hot on both rides. During the night flight they allowed 2 people from across the aile which was narrow to sit and talk for 7 hours while also using tablets and the flashlight from their phones pointing into the row where I sat at times. They allowed people with way too large baggage to bring onboard. I paid way too much for the ticket ($1,364} for economy. Kayak misinformed me to get cancellation insurance that was only valid for a very short time (less than 12 hours) and was over one hundred dollars. Hotel booking was incorrect, I had the room booked myself at the hotel, only double or larger rooms available which I paid over 400 dollars for. I will never fly with SAS again unless there is no other alternative.

Crew members were excellent. The seat wasn’t the best as well as a food options.

5 of my 7 pieces of luggage are missing and they cant call to find out where it is. I have to fill out a form and wait for them to mail it to me in several days (if they find it). That does not work for my travel itinerary. I need my full ticket cost refunded please.

Fantastic. The only thing - out of my six luggage one was lost in Copenhagen, however it was delivered Home 3 Days later so all great..

The crew was friendly, the flight was pleasant. Thank you for your service!

Our trip plan from Kayak stated we were flying SAS. That was not true. The first leg was a Delta flight. We wasted 25 minutes before finding out to check in with the correct airline. Then our SAS flight for the second leg arrived 25 minutes late, and our third leg flight with SAS closed the gate knowing the flight delay was SAS’s fault, and that this flight would only be backed up 5 minutes. The final kicker was that between Delta and SAS, they lost all our checked luggage.

Seat pitch is horrible especially on the 15 hour flight. Gate crew at SFO was Outstanding. The flight crew was also great.

Easy of boarding, helpfully staff at check in, surprisingly comfortable seating

Check in was chaotic with only one counter for business class and first class. The luggage conveyor belt at JFK airport was broken so the flight departure was delayed which made the flight stressful as I had a tight connection. Although the captain said they could make up the delay, they didn’t do so.

Had a one hour delay due to mechanical issue. I didn’t think I’d be able to make my connecting flight, but they waited for me and greeted me when I arrived to help things run smooth.

Lost of requested seat assignments. Lost my husband's meal choice

6 1/2 hours from Tampa to SFO on a Boeing 737. Cramped. No Service. No real food. One pass for coffee at the beginning and a second pass THREE hours later. And check-in in Tampa was nasty even by United standards. And I am at almost TWO million miles on United. It's a non-stop. But terrible service.

MY FAMILY'S LUGGAGE WAS LOST FROM ROME TO BARI. I WAS THE ONLY ONE THAT RECEIVED MY LUGGAGE FROM ROME TO BARI. AFTER DEPLANING IN BARI, WE WASTED A LOT OF TIME AT BAG CLAIMS LOST AND FOUND REPORTING THE CLAIM AND PLEADING FOR THE BAGS TO BE DELIVERED THE NEXT DAY. WE WERE TOLD THAT IT TAKES 3 DAYS MINIMUM TO DELIVER. MY DAUGHTER AND MY GIRLFRIEND NEEDED THEIR PERSONAL THINGS AND WE WERE STAYING 3 HOURS AWAY FROM THE BARI AIRPORT. WE HAD TO DRIVE 3 HOURS TO THE AIRPORT TO COLLECT OUR LOST LUGGAGE THE NEXT DAY. WE ARE NOT HAPPY WITH THE EXPERIENCE

We had a delay, but thankfully I made it to my connection. Overall it went smooth

The flight had a delay but I made it to my connection. Flight was smooth overall

As I wrote earlier, poor planning and/or communication. At least twice, we were told that we would be boarding in less than ten minutes, only to have the flight again delayed at least another hour.

Extremely uncomfortable seats. Experience was like a Frontier Airlines flight. Would not fly it again.

Very, very tight legroom. They must’ve jammed in an additional few rows of seat seating. Denver to Munich was the least legroom I’ve ever had on any flight, let alone a multi hour international journey. I will not take that flight again.

In my first flight with Air Canada we sat in the plane for 4:00pm to 6:30pm. Finally we were asked to get off the plane and we were told the flight was cancelled after 7:00pm There was o clear explanation of what was the problem. I was booked without my permission on a Delta Flight at 7:30pm that was leaving at 8:00pm and I still had to go get my luggage(my final destination was Rome with one stop in Toronto. The luggage claim for Canada was closed so had to return to finally get it on the luggage belt.. Of course I missed the Delta flight and all the next day flights were booked. I also lost what I paid for my stay in Rome because I did nt cancel in time. A complete nightmare.

Good food, overall very comfy. The flight was full so obviously not optimal, but it is what it is.

Perfect airline, super friendly, great service, tasty food. Would fly again.

Parents with permanently crying baby on board. Neither parents nor crew did anything to calm the baby. The food was extremely disappointing. Seafood stew was very, very small! Not even appetizer size! Seat had a gap in the back. Had to use a pillow to fill it.

Food choices limited & not enticing Seats quite uncomfortable & difficult to control

Definitely get premium economy on a flight this long if you can. Your legs and while body will thank you.

Flight was delayed by several hours and then cancelled due to weather. But Staff was very helpful getting me on a different flight. United should offer food coupons and tooth brush and paste for stranded passengers

I upgraded to the business class cabin. It was the poorest business class I have ever experienced. No access to any business lounge in Tampa airport. Seats are not comfortable. I had a window seat and had to step/crawl over the next seat. Food was mediocre and service below average for business class. Bathroom location was ridiculous. No place to wait. I cannot believe I paid this kind of money and will never fly Lufthansa Discover again. They really should reimburse me somehow.
