We were informed as we were boarding and had to scramble to remove the laptop from our carry-on and help up passengers behind us from boarding. A totally unnecessary stressful situation created by the gate agents for failing to share information. Once we got onboard we saw carry-ons larger then what we were forced to check-in. Evidently, enforcement of standards is at the gate agents' discretion."

For example, the recently released film 'Coco' was listed as PG-13 and not included in the "Disney" category. "Justice League" was listed as R. There are several other examples of misinformation in their movie listings. For parents who use the ratings as one piece of information to guide their children, it would be nice to have correct information when making selections. this problem is not new; it's been this way for over a year now. I hoped that over time they would get it right, but alas, it remains inconsistent at best."

Cons: "I will never fly American Airlines again. From the moment I checked in with the ticket agent to getting off the plane it was a disaster. The ticket agent was rude, hostile, and dismissive. Employees walked through the line at security forcing everyone to consolidate their belongings to one bag. I had a large wallet in my hand and was told I had to step out of line to put it in my backpack. They only allow you one bag to carry on without paying extra. At the time of boarding they announced that the overhead storage was full so even those that paid extra were still forced to check their bags. The plane was dirty, the service was slow, overall just gross. They don’t have WiFi or in flight entertainment so I paid the $20 to purchase the WiFi. It was worthless. I couldn’t stream anything, even music kept stopping to buffer. I understand it will be slower then on ground WiFi, but it was impossible to watch anything and a complete waste of money."

But those seats were sold out long before we even got to LA! I contacted American Airlines Customer Relations about 1 month prior to my flight. I completed their online form detailing the problem and asked if there is any way I could buy extra leg room seats. But they never even bothered to respond. I got the automated email acknowledging receipt of my complaint and assuring me I would be contacted soon. NOT!!"

I missed my flight because I had to go find it in baggage claim, take a taxi to another terminal, hoof it across the terminal to TSA pre-check which was 45 people deep and slow as a snail, then run to the gate (which was at the ooooother end I originally entered through). I missed my flight literally by 3 minutes. There was no one at the gate to help me, AA staff kept telling me to go to different places, getting a new flight was INSANE. The whole experience was a pure nightmare."

Overall, this is the weakest Business Class experience of recent memory especially for a newer wide-body aircraft."

Food was subpar for an AA flight, especially international. Entertainment system has many defects and problems, for example "search" is useless. Uninspiring and forgettable film choices as well. The knob to control air flow was broken which made it chilly. To finish as I started, a more engaged and pleasant crew could have made all the other things more palpable and acceptable. They were just too cold, like the temperature in the cabin and distant."

My wife, 2 year old son, and I was boarding at the gate and they couldn't scan my son's boarding pass. They quickly went over to the computer station and gave my son another pass. We went to our seats and found out someone else is in our 2year old seat. Apparently they gave the seat to someone else at the last second because up to the point when I printed our boarding passes at the kiosk, our seats were still together (and I paid $41/per seat extra to try to keep us together). The other customer was nice enough to switch with our son so were able to stay together at the last min so it goes to show AA priority and service."
Cons: "Fight was operated by American. Alaska forced to wait in line and see assistance, then inform that because the flight is operated by American, they won't be able to check me in. Had to walk to a different terminal of LAX wait in 2 more lines and by the time they were able to assist it was too late to check in. Missed the flight, have to rebook a 3 hour later departure, move the meeting and take a flight back 4 hours later that has a layover and adds about 2.5 hours more on the return leg. Not to mention having to pay for the new seat."

I was also seated across from a woman who didn't realize how stupid it was to bring a toddler on a 12 hour flight, and he screamed pretty much the entire time. I couldn't sleep at all and not even headphones drowned it out. That part wasn't really the airline's fault though, and I could see that the flight attendants were asking her several times to get her son to quiet down. I just wish there were regulations on these sorts of situations. Everyone around you suffers when you bring a small child on a very long flight because they will inevitably be bored, cranky and uncomfortable, and because we are confined to our seats, we are forced to suffer through it all. I wish that children under a certain age would not be allowed to board flights over a certain length of time except for special circumstances."

Cons: "I specifically bought carry on luggage that meets the standards so that I would not have to go baggage claim as it would weigh heavily on my schedule. As I stood in line and noticed all of the huge "carry on" bags more than 2 I was astounded when the flight attendant said my carry on would have to be loaded with the other luggage. When I offered my rebuke she scolded me and said the luggage would be there before me....how the hell is that supposed to happen? To make matter worse the flight "attendants" stopped serving half way and when they started again I got trapped by the bathroom and did not get back to my seat in time to enjoy a beverage....not that I was offered one."

An hour turned to 1.5 and I was sure I would miss my best friend's wedding. The flight attendants were put in a horrible position - a flight full of delayed pasangers and they had nothing to do with it. The attendants and pilot were SO accomodating and empathetic and assured me they were in a good position to make up time. Between your staff and the free directTV and the fact that I made my flight with 5 minutes to spare....my trip was saved!"

The Economy was the new definition of bare bones."

He was EXTREMELY rude and continued to harass us and followed us after we checked in and we're already at the security check point. It's $25 to check a bag but if you check 2 bags their website says its $35 for both. We were charged $50 to check two bags. Even after Guilermo told both of us that they wouldn't charge us for the second bag to be checked. The guy that checked our bags was also extremely rude and clearly didn't care. Once we started boarding the flight several passengers had to check their bags at the gate because there "wasn't enough room on the plane". Not really sure how this was fair since we had just paid $50 to check two bags and were lied to about it when several people just checked their bags for free. We chose to fly with United because of the good deals they have on flights but after our experience I would MUCH rather pay more money and have a lot better customer service. We had such a horrible experience it almost ruined our first day of our week long trip. I'm. It really sure if it's obvious to the employees of United but traveling for most people is a very special occasion. This occasion happen to be a very special one to us as it was a family vacation and seeing family we haven't seen in years. The poor attitudes and rude demeanor from the United staff is all we could think about even after we reached our destination."

Cons: "PHX is a large airport, and my emailed ticket said Brussles Airlines, Terminal 4. First off, Brussles Airlines is not a carrier at PHX, and secondly no one knew that United was their partner. There was no information provided to me to go to United, which was in Terminal 2. After making a phone call to Brussles Airlines, I ended up getting to the check in gate ten minutes after boarding started. It was a lovely rest of the trip after that though! But please include partner information im the email next time!"

I was told after I paid 55$ and they took my bag I could have pre- checked my bag for less! I had to pay for my seat!!! There were no screens, no outlets, no WiFi, and no snacks without a charge. On my return The Spirit website did not indicate gate changes as the gate changes. I prechecked this time, 3 hours early and the plane departed 40 min before departure. The screens at kiosk did not indicate changes to flight time or gate change. I wasn’t even called!!! I missed my flight. The staff gave no help for hotel or shuttle. I was to sleep 12 hours for n Next plane and my bag was on first plane. My original flight of $249 to Vegas was $349. Plus hotel 129 plus $40 for extra night stay and Uber."

Just a horrible airline which we will NEVER fly again as you don’t save money at all."

No call, just an email - and it was sent after 8pm, so it was lucky that I was checking my email that night. I called and they said they wouldn't be able to get me on another flight out until a day and a half after my original flight, so I ended up just cancelling the flight entirely and buying one on another airline. It took me 2 phone calls (2.5 hours each) to get Spirit to issue a full refund. The worst part? The flight wasn't cancelled. I found out from someone that had been on an earlier Spirit flight that was also cancelled that I had been booted off the flight so that they could rebook people from their flight. I looked on Spirit's site and sure enough the flight had reappeared and was accepting reservations. Absolutely unacceptable to lie to your customers and just boot them off of flights where they had paid for checked bags and seats in favor of other customers."

I am a graduate from Eastern Michigan University College of Aviation, and I am ashamed to say how some companies have become a disgrace because of the conduct that they are setting in the industry by portraying this behavior. Very poor. Nothing is more valuable than time that gets wasted without reasonable cause. I remember a great quote once when I worked in the auto industry that says " It is easy to loose a customer, but its ten times harder if not impossible to win that customer back.""

Cons: "I decided to give this airline a try due to an inexpensive return flight option from LAS to LAX but had nothing but a terrible experience. First, I had to pay for my carry-on which costed more than I expected. Then, my boarding pass didn't print. By the time I made it all the way back downstairs to the check-in desk I was told I missed my flight by a rude ticket desk lady. Departure wasn't for 30 more minutes! I was furious and asked for at least a refund on the carry-on I had purchased an hour before and had a receipt with the time stamped. Spirit Airlines "manager" denied my request. I was beyond frustrated when they told me the next available flight was in two days! I ended up buying a ticket with a much more reliable airline and refuse to do business with Spirit again. I never received a "Time to Check-In" email from Spirit prior to my departure date which would have saved a lot of time and wasted money. What a shame."
Pros: "The plane seemed to have more room per seat than other airlines I have travelled with."
Cons: "The check-in line was extremely long but the stay was working hard to get everyone through in a timely manner. Also pre-check-in was frustrating from the hotel, which may have been an internet connection problem. But when I called to ask a question it was very difficult and frustrating trying to get an actual person on the phone. Additionally he told me it would not cost extra to check-in at the airport but your website said otherwise. You might want tok get the staff and website on the same page."
Pros: "not much...will not travel again on Spiritl"
Cons: "1) Seats not comfortable to sleep, no push back (was on red eye flight) 2) Delayed coming back from Vegas 3) I was trying to select a seat next to my friend and had to pay for getting seats together 4) Pay for every possible service (glad i don't have to pay for bathroom as of now) and not as cheap ticket to Vegas. 5) Felt like being treated like school kid (disciplined) when read about how baggage fares change with time to $100 @ gate. (too much). Too much to worry when I want a pleasure travel... 6) I will never travel on spirit for more than 2 hr flight time and that too when i have a great deal (that compensates for seats, luggage etc.,)"
Pros: "Staff kept good spirits despite the situations their upper management created for them to deal with. There were so many frustrated customers that had been canceled on MULTIPLE Spirit flights that same week that were furious but could not find an actual manager to speak to."
Cons: "No flight crew was available for multiple outgoing flights at our gate. We were later told from a spirit employee this was expected bc the crew intentionally calls in or no shows to stand up to management. Flight was delayed, then canceled, then waited in a 2 1/2 hour line for no reason to be refunded and stranded in a strange city. Spent 8 hours at the airport to then have to book our own hotel and flight on southwest that next morning. Not worth cheap cost. Airline should not be in business. Will never fly Spirit again."
Cons: "I spoke with a customer service rep and requested to cancel round trip from Seattle to Las Vegas; I was told that they had to be cancelled separately, so I did this and was told that both were cancelled and because I had called in a timely manner I would not be charged. This transaction was friendly and helpful; however, apparently not completed accurately. Three weeks later: Only my one trip TO Vegas was cancelled; my return flight home was not. When I again called Spirit, Jenki (sp?) answered the phone and told me I hadn't cancelled in enough time and would be charged for the trip and could not cancel the return leg home. I protested and was told they would review my phone conversation. They did not call me back, but I will be calling again later today to see if I can get credit (although I don't want to use them again in any case). Very disappointed with the service."
Pros: "Unlike on my prior Spirit attempt at least I got to my destination this time"
Cons: "Most uncomfortable seats for a red-eye flight. How can Southwest get me from FLL to LAS with $8 WiFi and snacks and food and drinks and free luggage for less money then the "UN-BUNDLEr" with none of these amenities and have the chutzpah to offer/charge $5 speedy security fee when their own ticketing agent says "I've never seen this before, I've no idea what this is" and Airport's TSA agents have no idea what that is and there is no separate line for this "service" and it's just a way for Spirit to get extra $5 out a traveler who is concerned of long security lines - SHAMEFULL!"
Pros: "I left the plane and vowed never to travel with them again. I travel a lot and they are the worst in terms of addons, trying to penalize by price, (not cheap) unless you have no reason to take luggage (like a meeting where you need a change of clothes There "basic" is cheap if you need nothing else, but when you start checking luggage at $50 a suitcase a round trip of $100 any bargain is soon gone. And some of the staff (the stewardess outbound from Baltimore is Ok. But they changed planes and the bigger seat I paid for was not available. Getting a refund required checking several times. Most said they couldn't do it. The final person in Baltimore, was "lounging: against the counter". Grabbed by ticket ungraciously. Was clearly irritated that I had a refund provlem that she "had" to deal with. No smile, NO NO For the uninitiated flyer they may work. If you don't know what else is available at what price and if you read there advertising and treat riding with the like voting for trump (believing all untruths) OK. Just not for me who is an experienced flyer. I had heard Spirit was bad from others who said they would never ride with them again. But I gave them one chance--they blew it. Anne"
Pros: "My trip once in Las Vegas was great, however my experience flying with Spirit was the worst for my girlfriend and I. We tried to pay our luggage fees from home but weren't able to do so from our mobile phones, they charged us each $55 for one piece of luggage & they only allow you 40 pounds. Then once at the gate & before boarding the plane they told me I had to pay $65 for my small carry on, it fitted perfectly in their sample measurement they have there & still the woman from Spirit told me if you want to get on the plane you need to pay $65 now or you'll lose the flight. Same for coming back. They didn't even allowed us to sit together. So initially the flight was apparently cheap but with all the expensive luggage fees came up to $500 RT from BWI to Vegas. Worst experience ever! I've flown all over & with many airlines & this has been the worst experience ever, I'm never flying with them again & same for my girlfriend."

Cons: "We weren't told about pre buying our checked bags for 30.00 each so we paid 50.00 each then at the gate certain normal carry ons were another 65.00 each. Too many hidden fees. We thought they were supposed to be included or reveled at booking. Will never fly this airline again."
Cons: "I did not like my flight to Las Vegas. The flight was delayed at least 2 hours. The plane seats did not recline, and were very uncomfortable. With paying for my checked luggage spirit is no bargain ! Just for your own information the return flight also was delayed. I will not be flying spirit in the future, they are no bargain !"
Cons: "The first time I flew on Sprit I had a bad experience but I thought it was a one time thing so I gave them another chance. Even with the charges for EVERYTHING! WATER, SODA, CARRY ON... but my experiences this trip were even WORSE! My connecting flight to Vegas (through Minneapolis) was delayed 2 hours then another hour once we boarded. They offered us free WATER. My trip back to Atlanta (through Detroit) was delayed at least 3 hours (still sitting at the airport). They do not update you in the terminal. They do not offer any apologies, comps, or alternatives even though the website says you can choose another flight if your travel plans cannot be changed. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND PAY EXTRA MONEY TO FLY ON A REAL AIRLINE!!!"
Cons: "I did not have the opportunity to have a checked luggage at the time of booking. I did it later when I checked in. It was more expensive"
Pros: "ONCE i got on the flight. The actual crew members were lovely. Very personable. The plane was clean. Comfortable. Theer was no entertainment. No tv working anyway. But i was fine. IT WAS EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED BEFORE MY FLIGHT THAT WAS HORRIBLE>"
Cons: "Not only would i NEVER reccomend Spirit. I will be writing about how highly UN satisfied i wa with Spirit and i will HIGHLY discourage anyone of my readers and listeners on air to ever use Spirit. My first encounter was in Baltimore when the woman behind the counter argued with me until i missed my flight. Then when i explained i lost my credit card and HAD to get on the very next flight ( that she made me miss being rude and disrepectful ) i called my husband so he coudl give her our credit card toi book the next flight. She purposefully sat the phone down and waited on others. Then she let him give her all of his information and said Oh Well you have to call reservations. By the time he got through i missed that fligth too. I did not use Spirit that day ! Coming back theer was again a woman working for Spirit at the airport who again was rude and ignorant. She argued with me that i could not take my purse and my carry on bag on to the plane. I have been traveling business for over twenty five years. YES I CAN. AND I DID. Howevr not before she laid her hands on me. When i tried to walk away from her combative behavior. She grabbed my arm. NEVER will i ever say a nice word about Spirit. NEVER will i not try to telkl as many people as possible about the horrible people you have representing your company. They are the First Voice. The First face They are the ones you have chosen to be the FACE OF SPIRIT. You They are highly UN qualified. Most certainly NOT personale, polite , or professional. SMH. Absolutely DISGUSTING."
Cons: "I tried canceling one flight for my fiancé because we had to get on at another time while still keeping the returning flight. After confirming with the representative on the phone multiple time that there would be no issues with her getting on the returning flight; she went to check in at the airport and the representative there told her that her flight had been canceled. There were no other flights that night with Spirit or any other airline for that matter and we then had to arrange to have her fly out the next morning. From the cancelation I received a credit for half of what I paid and honestly will probably not end up using it because of the lack of communication. The representative on the phone confirmed and agreed to her return flight with the confirmation number and apparently he was not correct and it wasn't valid."

Cons: "The spirit luggage check in delayed me (the 120 minutes early I was there) before the flight - standing in line - by the time I got to the ONE gate agent she said I was too late to catch the flight and admitted it wasn't my fault but I would have to pay an additional $170 to book the next flight which was the following morning. Down hill from there. It took me an hour waiting on hold to speak to someone on the phone. The representative & then her supervisor could care less, by that time the rebooking charge had gone up to $215. It cost me $300+ to last minute book a low price room for the night, taxi back and forth from the airport (I had already returned my rental car). That doesn't include the return flight I paid for on a different airline or the refund I should have recieved for the RT trip I already paid for. Shameful (non)service spirit!!!"
Pros: "Inexpensive and easily available flights"
Cons: "THEY CHARGED ME $65 AT THE GATE FOR MY BAG THAT COMPLETELY FIT IN THEIR DEFINED DIMENSIONS! When I checked my bag at home, it was within their dimensions. When I checked it at the ticket counter it fit within their metal frame for measuring. When I got to the gate, they told me to step aside and check my bag. Without even looking at my bag, the lady at the counter told me it wouldn't fit and I had to pay extra. I told her it fit, and with an attitude, she asked me to put it in the frame to see if it fit. Suddenly, it did not. She said it didn't fit by over 2 inches. It was less than a 1/4 of an inch, and barely that. I was furious. She refused to care, refused to listen to me, and told me that it was either pay the $65 and board the plane or leave the bag there. Totally rude, and did this to SEVERAL OTHER PASSENGERS. HIGHLY DOUBT I'LL EVER FLY THIS AIRLINE AGAIN."

Cons: "Horrible Horrible airlines. First airline that I will make it a point to never fly again. They obviously are nickle and dime-ing everything, but more more predatory than that. Was warned by many on how to avoid this, but still ended up with $140 in extra fees and spent 30 mins on the phone to a foreign customer service line. Spirit changed the gate 20 minutes before boarding but kept the electronic signage same, so people arriving on time waiting at the original gate and missed their flight. With some repeated experience you may be able to to learn minimize you losses but honestly it is not worth this experience again. And if you search online, you will notice that this is a common experience with Spirit."

Cons: "I had a flight booked a month in advance and I drove 10 hours to drop off my children with their grandparents so my man & I could take a vacation to Los Angelas. When I got to the airport they informed me that "I" had made changes to my reservation so it was cancelled and they gave me a credit for $300 even though I paid $450 for our flights. When I asked why I couldn't get a refund instead of a credit the lady told me that it was apparently because I booked through a third party, which is not true. I'm a member of spirit and I booked straight through their website. She told me there's no one I can talk to and that she can not help me and gave me a number to call. So I'm stuck at the airport with no help. (Now keep in mind I've already paid for a hotel and a car in LA that I will not get a refund for) finally we decided we'd have to take a flight to the next destination or we could not go on vacation. So we ended up having to go to Vegas and pay for the difference on top of a hotel. This is a joke!"
Pros: "The Pilot got us home safe and sound and quick..That was important"
Cons: "Now for the my feed back, Spirit airlines yes offers the best rate on some of your flights because both of your inbound and outbound flights were FULL so I would say 60% of your customers were happy, but not to offer your passengers a cup of water is crazy. You make lite of some of the things you do because of your low cost. but its about customer service. Seats don't recline? Why so that you can get more passengers on a plane, no entertainment, and half of a tray table. It sounds like its all about the money on your end of the business not about the customers.. Really its ridicules the cost for EVERYTHING! boarding pass, cut in line, seats that don't recline, oh and carry on bags.. I just think as a BIG CORPORATION you could do better for your customers. So hopefully you will take some of these things into consideration. I think about how your passengers feel. Top it all off had to wait exactly ONE HOUR TO RETRIEVE YOUR BAGS..."
Cons: "It was terrible. They didn't even announce the flight departure properly, so we (and several more people) missed the boarding. They rescheduled us to another flight but it disrupted our plans and caused a lot of inconvenience. Also, they charge for literally everything, I've never seen $42 fee for checked baggage, or even $55 or $100 if one doesn't make it to buy it online. Weight of 40 lbs. is woefully insufficient as travelers from Europe will have to remove over 10 pounds from their baggage as normal airlines allow 23 kg."
Pros: "The price of the flight. Flight Crew members were pleasant."
Cons: "I tend to make the best of all situations but this time it was very difficult. Honestly, I would rather pay the "hidden fees" for a more comfortable flight with the ability to recline my seat, travel with a carry on bag and have in flight refreshments without having to pay extra. Sitting in an upright position for 5 hours straight with no leg room is torture. The thought of dodging hidden fees is great but not at the expense of comfortability and incurring additional baggage and in flight fees. Unfortunately, I would not fly with this airline again unless the flight is 2 hours or less and it was the only option available. Bottled water should be free for travelers even if it's only the 8oz bottles. The snack/drink menu options are limited and the prices are ridiculous. Thank you for the services, however this will not be an option in the future."
Cons: "Spirit is a low cost, low class airline that works only in a situation where no other carriers can be used. The front desk staff are so-so and the internet website never works correctly. Their IT department needs fired and the website needs completely redone. Patience when working with this airline is very necessary as you encounter many frustrating roadblocks. Seats are so close together that the other passenger is all over you. If the adjoining seat has a larger passenger as in my case, this passenger will make your flight absolutely miserable."
Cons: "I wasn't able to make this flight. It was 4 months in advance and they still would not give me a refund and the options for receiving a credit to fly later were very restricted. I basically lost all of my money and even though l purchased the insurance they said l didn't qualify for a refund. I am very dissatisfied with the purchase of this flight"

Cons: "Had no idea there was a seperate fee for baggage- luckily I checked my email or else I would have had to pay an extra fee for CHECKING IN AT THE AIRPORT. Are You kidding? After selecting seats and attempting to pay for baggage through my phone- a message kept coming up saying "a customer service rep is needed to complete check in. Call 800 blah blah" I tried calling for 30 MINUTES. Could not get a hold of anyone. At this point I'm worried thinking "oh my god Were going to have to pay an extra fee for not checking in a head of time." We rush to the airport and find out "oh ur address didn't match because it was purchased through Kayak." Wtf??? So Not only that but our flight was delayed for almost 2'hours. Do you know how hard it was to wake up at NINE AM to pack and rush out the hotel bc we couldnt check in our flight and it was DELAYED?? Absolutely ridiculous. The pilot couldn't even tell us why it was delayed. He actually said "I don't have a reason why it was delayed" SO being said that, I will never ever in my life fly Spirit Airlines again. and I'll be sure to let all friends + family know the same. This airline is so stressful."
Pros: "The seating and the Captain of the plane"
Cons: "I ended up spending another $600 to get home from Vegas with another airline July 18th 2016. The manager at the gate in Vegas his name was "Omaha" did absolutely nothing to help me get home what made the experience even worse the next flight was a connecting flight that was sold out so they tried to fly me to Detroit where I would have been stuck til the next day and they didn't care about me having to work the next day. I also payed the extra $52 baggage fee with Spirit leaving Vegas but that needs to be refunded as well as my flight that was previously paid for that I take. Overall because of the unhelpful employees I had to spend an extra $600 to fly with another airline to make it home that day and I also pay $52 baggage fee with Spirit that I didn't even use that needs to be refunded."
Pros: "I liked the base price of the fare. I also liked the staff and flying experience from Cleveland to Las Vegas. That reference may be the only thing that causes me to consider a 2nd flight with Spirit."
Cons: "I did not like the boarding process, a single line for ALL customers regardless of whether or not you already have a boarding pass, my luggage was damaged and no note or apology from Spirit it was just loaded on the conveyor belt as if it were received that way, threats of the gate permanently closing 35 minutes before boarding despite having to sit on the plane until the plane was scheduled to leave 35 minutes later, fees for everything from carry-ons, to seats, to snacks and regular beverages on super long flights, and the list goes on..."

Cons: "At check in for our baggage it was a very long wait Michael who helped us put us on standby for an earlier flight gave us new boarding passes did not see that I had paid for a carry on bag so my boarding pass did not have a carry on. I also had a very hard time checking in for our flight and printing the boarding pass as the web page was down for almost 24 hours I wasted many hours trying to print the boarding pass and was very surprised about the charges for seats baggage and printing the boarding pass."
Pros: "It was a red eye flight, but the seats were so incredibly uncomfortable it was impossible to fall asleep. There was no leg room, they didn't recline, the head rest was at an awkward angle, and the seat wasn't soft in the slightest. DO NOT PLAN TO SLEEP ON A SPIRIT FLIGHT"

Cons: "Since I ordered through kayak I wasn't allowed to add additional bags. This cost me quite a bit more money. Then I called prior to online booking and the customer service agent was horrible. Deceived me into to pay more money for bags. She was also very rude and not helpful at all. This was a horrible experience. I am not even going into the flight. I was seated next to someone that was probably close to 400 pounds. He spent most of the time in my seat. Now I am sympathetic to obese people but Spirit should have placed him in one of the two seater rows or something like that. It was an absolute miserable experience."

Cons: "I missed my initial flight due to traffic & was only 10 minutes past boarding time. The Reps at the counter were helpful and called multiple times to the gate to see if they would let me board, but they would not. The counter did fail to inform me by not making the going flight that my return flight is automatically cancelled. Missing that information, I then booked a one way flight thru another airline b/c Spirit did not have an available flight for that day. I continued to get normal check in emails for my return flight only to find out once I got to the airport to get my boarding pass that return flight had been cancelled. I was told by the counter rep that I needed to check the online agreement. At least a courtesy email would have be nice. So I ended up having to book another one way flight to return, this time trough Spirit, but it was 4 hours later. I also did not get credit on my original flight paying for checked baggage for the return trip even though I paid $40 going and $40 returning. Needless to say, I completely wasted money booking my original flights since I had to book two other flights to go and return."
Pros: "Absolutely nothing."
Cons: "There were several things I didn't like about this airline. The first thing that really set me off was that you had to pay to check in unless you did it at home or at one of the airport kiosks(10$). Number two, you have to pay for a CARRY ON BAG! How ridiculous is that?! I have never heard of an airline doing that. I wasn't even aware of this when I bought my ticket. Not only did they make me pay for my bag but they charged a crazy price for it. It was 55$ both ways if you paid for it at the ticket counter before TSA, if you didn't happen to notice this and went to your gate without paying then it was 100$ there. Number 3 the staff was so rude. Number 4 they don't offer any complementary drinks. All drinks must be paid for and of course nothing on an airplane is reasonable priced. Number 5 my trip to LAS was delayed by 20 minutes and the trip back to PDX was delayed by 20 minutes. So inconvenient for the person picking me up from the airport. Overall I ended up paying more then what it would have cost to fly on a higher end airline. Never will I fly Spirit Airlines again."
Cons: "Upon arrival at McCarran, found that the TSA Pre was shut down. Further, Spirit does not subscribe to TSA Pre for unknown reasons. I inquired at TSA about this and they could give no reason either. Spirit advertises "no frills" flying and so I assume it may be part of this scam to save costs (?) of printing "TSA Pre" on their boarding passes to allow quicker passage through the checkpoint. Spirit levies an up charge for everything but breathing the air in their planes and part of this seems to be the elimination of reclining seats. I'm 6'4" and have difficulty sitting comfortably in the seats, my knees jammed against the seat back in front of me. Also, I feel every movement of the passenger behind me for the same reason. Very annoying. I'll not be flying Spirit again."
Cons: "They charge for extra carry-ons($100 if you don't do it online) and even water on the flight. Service not great. Not comfortable planes. Unique business model ("bare fare") that kayak should warn you about before hand."

Cons: "The baggage fees became progressively higher closer to flight time but I was fortunate that my hotel had a business center PC I could access to save a few bucks. Spirit nickels and dimes it's passengers. Plane was not clean."
Pros: "it was crowded but not full. Three adults with bags under the seats in one row is too cramped for a long flight - or even just over an hour if you have long legs and aren't petite. One guy moved to an open seat after about an hour and everything was tons better!!"
Pros: "Boarding was easy, and the flight was on time."
Cons: "The plane didn't feel particularly clean and seemed a bit old. Quite frankly, it had the feel of some planes I have been on in foreign countries where the standards are different than in the US. I mean, there were no surprises. We all know that they assign a charge for ANYTHING possible. An apt metaphor is traffic. When you know you are about to drive in a bunch of traffic, and you get in your car with the right attitude, it's no problem. For Spirit, if you aren't expecting to be charged for water, not have anything to read in the back seat, pay for a carry on, pay to print your boarding pass, etc., you are going to be irritated. If I had my choice, I wouldn't fly them again, unless it was significantly less including the baggage fees."
