Once I was on the plane, I started kicking myself in the you know what because I knew immediately I was scammed. I had purchased a 1st Class ticket for $400+, only to find that my comfort would be the equivalent of that if I purchased a ticket in economy. My long legs would still be cramped. For the past few years, I have been purchasing 1st class for it's spaciousness. On this flight, on the RCJ700, I did not fly comfortably. The space was very tight, and I was able to stretch my legs as if I sat in economy. This was by far, my most uncomfortable flight ever. SMH; A WASTE OF MY HARD EARNED MONEY!!!!!"

The seat was ok, but I found the pillows to be very small and flat. I needed multiple pillows. The head rest was not adjustable, so I also found this to be uncomfortable. Usually when I fly AA, the headrest is adjustable. My final dislike was that the beverage selection was limited. I'm quite sure there was plenty of alcohol, but what about those customers who do not drink alcoholic beverages? I asked for hot chocolate, there was none. I asked for hot tea with honey, there wasn't any. So all in all my flight was okay, but that is solely because of the flight attendant and pilot. They did their jobs and they did an excellent job."

The person at the gate was rude when I said you won't lose my luggage will you? he said Probably. I said really, and he said well you did ask."

I would be able to put up with the uncomfortable conditions if I was actually saving money, but after paying for a seat and a carry-on, it was the same or more than other carriers."

Cons: "We didn’t have a window on the last row of the plane. Why even have seats there? When the flight attendant moved the family on the other side of the aisle to a row with a window, my son and I got up to move into their seats, so we could give the poor guy in the corner (without a window) more room. She said no, because “we have to keep the last row open for emergencies”. Really? Then why was it booked to begin with? Tiny seats, flight attendants who don’t understand service, and not so much as a free drink of water after giving up our water at security. I’m not impressed."

Another thing that will prevent me from flying with this airline is that the spirit (pun intended) of charging extra for everything always leaves you wondering where the next hidden fee will turn up."

Cons: "Flight was cancelled at 7:30 am day of departure, we had already gone through security and gotten to the gate, before we were notified. Pilot could not be found, and did not show up for work.. No real attempt to help us find another flight. we had a 9 am departure, and had to be in Baltimore for my wife's conference at 5 p.m. We were told that Spirit had a 9 pm flight. That did us no good. That is all we were told. as an after thought, we were told there may be a flight at Jet Blue and we should go there. we flew through the terminal to get to the Jet Blue desk, and we said we were coming from a cancelled Spirit flight- they said "say no more, we are used to getting customers from Spirit cancelled flights," Jet Blue could not have been any nicer, and rebooked us on a 10:30 am flight to Baltimore. WE love Jet BLue, We hate Sprit."

Pros: "Leg space was surprisingly good. The key is to plan your trip well, and only pay for what you need. The flight attendants were fairly efficient. Overall a good first flight. Will definitely fly again."
Cons: "In-flight service can be improved. Flight attendants were very chatty - with each other! The in-flight announcements were very very load - deafening! Made people wince. When I commented on this while coming off, the flight attendant laughed it off and said it was her voice - somehow she did not seem the slight bit apologetic! So, deafening announcements + repeating things over and over while trying to be funny => not cool. Stop trying to be like Southwest - it's a culture thing!"
