Cons: "Boarding at Frankfort left much to be desired. First off, the equipment was not ready; we waited 45 min. to board after we got to the gate (early) and due to turbulence over the Atlantic, the pilots could not make up the time. We are senior citizens. We, along with about 25 others in our category, responded to the call for us to get in line to board, stand for 30 min. The gate personnel did not provide any information that boarding was NOT imminent at that point, so you had to stand up to keep your place. Finally, once the boarding for people needing assistance began, we got to choose between using 2 flights of stairs (a faster way to get into the plane) or an elevator to board the plane. (Hello! We have trouble with things like stairs; don't you know that?) The elevator accommodated one wheelchair and 2 or 3 people at a time. More waiting in the jetway to get down to the plane! The whole boarding process took 90 min. from the time we stood up to the time they closed the doors. Bad grades for the the cleaning crew making us wait so long, for the gate personnel for keeping us in the dark and the disorganized process boarding. Nobody cared about our discomfort, not what we would have expected from LH. Consequently, we've revised our opinion of Luthansa. Maybe next time we'll take BA."

Cons: "My number one complaint is the lack of a air valve over the seat. The airflow is very important. Lack of airflow meant that the sunside passengers cooked in the heat from the windows while our cabin mates on the other side were bundled. A bit of air whizzing past would have helped us unstagnate ourselves. Additionally that bit of air on ones face help immeasurably for passengers such as myself who feel a bit of airsickness. Not having that small breath of air was greatly missed. With my compliments to the crew my complaints are about elements they did not have control over - such as running out of food when serving the final snack. Services at the front of the class were good but supplies dwindled and it felt as if the crew were either understaffed or overtaxed because despite genuine best efforts the rear of the class was under supplied. The aircraft itself needed attention in the details - tech such as audio jacks, sub ports were only about 2/3rds functional in my row. I volunteered to have my neighbor charge his phone at my seat as his was very obviously broken. Audio jacks in his seat were broken and my jack necessitated holding the entire flight in order to receive sound. Seats and carpets while clean were worn and in places fraying and thread bare and stained."

The meal options where meat balls and pasta and the meatball option was not good. Then later they served a dessert which was ice cream but didn't let you ask for the flavor. They just gave you whatever came out. They then handed out a flat bread pizza and where in a rush that they didn't give pizza to 3 people."

There should have been someone as passengers reached the end of the concourse from the plan to remind them to get their baggage. I knew but there were at least five around me in line for customs that did not know and I informed them. Wine was awful."

Cons: "Upon boarding the plane, the passengers on this "non-stop" flight were informed by crew members that because the plane was so small and old, a fuel stop in buffalo would be needed before reaching our destination in Philadelphia. Much conflicting information was again passed by the crew on how much time would be needed at this extra stop. We all were beyond angry and frustrated. Many passengers were then scared because some thought the plane was unsafe. Then the head of the crew began getting angry and pointedly asked a women who was afraid "do you want off this plane then?", in a very sarcastic tone. We paid for a non-stop flight. The crew said that this happens with this flight all the time and has been going on for 10 years. Why in the world is this plane stills being used on trans-Atlantic flights?! This is unacceptable on all levels. The captain said that 80% of the passengers had connecting flights. Schedules were ruined. All passengers should receive some sort of refund."

Also, when checking in from our original departure location, MCO, we were not provided our boarding pass or luggage tags for our final destination, Barcelona, only to our connecting flight, Philadelphia. The connecting flight was delayed in MCO for an 1 hour and a half, after we have boarded the plane. So we waited in the plane for the whole hour and half while a maintenance issue was being resolved. The delay almost cost us to be late for our final flight to Barcelona. Since we were not given our boarding passes for PHL to BCL it caused confusion when trying to board our plane in PHL to Barcelona, and also caused for our baggage to not arrive with the flight. After landing, we spent an additional 2 hours at the Airport going through customs, and waiting on line for the lost and found desk for baggage in Barcelona. The lost and found desk had three agents available to assist, however we can only talk to one which was designated specifically for American Airlines. This caused a very long wait time of 1 hour. We were advised the bags stayed in Phildelaphia since they did not have the additional luggage tags, and will not arrive till the next day. Overall the experience within the Airport kiosks, service desks, and baggage check in' s was not a pleasant experience. I believe many of these issues could have been avoided if the American Airlines agents were more knowledgeable and attentive."

When I mean there was no line, its not that there were no people, its that we stood grouped together, because there was not enough space for everyone, so no line could form. So people simply cut in front of each other and there was quite a bit of anger and tension.Once we were on board, and seated, they came through and provided a meal. However after about 3 hours, I wanted to get some water to take medicine and I pushed the call light to get the flight attendant to come over and it was literally 45 minutes before anyone came into the economy portion. All of the flight attendants were either in first class, or hiding somewhere else. As one point 5 call lights were on and no one came. My wife got up and started looking for someone and finally I got water to take my pills. Almost an hour after I hit the call button. When the flight attendant came, I asked her if it was possible to purchase a soda, crackers, or anything as my blood sugar was low. She said there is nothing available for purchase, and did not offer anything. The only help I received was from a fellow passenger who offered a candy bar. I can not believe that there was nothing the attendant could offer me. I was willing to pay 10 euros for a soda, and they still said no. That is unacceptable."

Multiple agents admitted their company is terrible and doesn't care about its customers. The indifference to our situation was surreal. Lesson learned."
