Upon arrival in China the 144 hour travel visa was granted with no problem within minutes, but the U.S. staff was completely befuddled by the possibility. The interrogation was completely stressful and resulted in a reschedule of the original flight and during the second attempt at flying even an email from the U.S. consulate with a link to the Shanghai/Chinese government immigration site was deemed "not official enough". i will be expecting proper compensation. I was once given an $850 travel voucher for voluntarily giving up my seat, and was flown first class to Hawaii, given 4 star accomodation and then flown first class on to China within 48 hours. This was an involuntary bump from our chosen flight time, all because of a lack of knowledge about current visa regulations and international law on the part of the check in staff. We have been loyal Delta users for over 15 years, and this was the biggest blunder ever. Also humiliating and extremely frustrating, stressful and a big problem with fulfilling our travel plans between son and father."

It was a really cramped flight and although I was polite, it's still very frustrating to pay for a seat, but only get access to 2/3 of it. I am 6'1, so every inch of my seat is typically used. It would be nice if there was a way to ensure this didn't happen. If people need more than 1 seat, they should be required to pay for more than one seat, and not 'steal' my space. If you have connecting flights, are flying for business, or don't pack your own refreshments assuming that something standard services will be, well, standard, Delta is probably not who you want to fly with. I work in the industry and sm usually not this brutally honest, but the whole trip was pretty disappointing."

What difference does it make!? On long Delta flights, you get a meal (you pay for it in the cost of your ticket), but I was put on an Alaska Airlines flight where the meals are $7.50! I think that if Delta puts you on an affiliated airline, they should pick up the tab for the meal. Entertainment is via your smartphone. Don't have a smartphone, no problem, cough up $10 for a 2 bit tablet to watch a movie!"

The flight attendants are very friendly, helpful, and genuine. It"s a nice added touch when the pilot stands there and greets the passangers. If I have a choice, I will never fly with any other airlines."

Cons: "We just returned home to New York from our trip to Amsterdam and Ireland. The trip itself was amazing despite the sub par customer service we received from Aer Lingus that definitely put a damper on our vacation. Our flight on Wed July 19th from NYC to Amsterdam went off without a hitch until we claimed our luggage, my brand new suitcase was covered with stains. Very disappointing but we went on to enjoy our time in Amsterdam. The real problems began when we flew from Amsterdam to Dublin, first we were seated all over the plane and worst of all when we arrived my husband's bag was lost. We went to customer service and completed the paper work. Everything my husband had for the trip was in that bag. Aer Lingus only texted him once and after that he had to call every day to check the status of his bag. Instead of exploring Dublin, we had to spend Sunday shopping to get him clothes for the trip. No word from Aer Lingus. Monday morning July 24 he calls to find the status of his bag. It was found in Amsterdam and was to be flown to Dublin and shipped to our next stop in Kinsale. We arrived Monday evening to find that the bag had not been shipped. Again no word from Aer Lingus. My husband called to find out the status and made arrangements to pick the bag up when we were flying back to NYC. We were happy the bag was found but my husband still was without all of his belongings for our entire trip. On Thursday July 27 we arrived at the airport early to retrieve the bag before we checked in to our flight. We were dismayed to find that there was not a person to talk to but a phone on a column to call to get help retrieving the luggage. There was a queue at the phone with people ahead of us in similar situations. Finally someone came out to escort my husband to get his bag. We were traveling with our son, and again our seats were scattered about the plane. There was no one at checkin to help us, and we didn't get help at the gate. So we had to sit separately for the 6 hour and 30 minute flight. When we claimed our bags, my bag now had tears along with the stains. This was a brand new suitcase and it is now ruined. My husband says he will never fly Aer Lingus again and this was the worst customer service he has had in his life. The customer service was virtually non existent."

Bottom line: advertising this airline as 'low-cost' is very misleading."

I dont fully know how this could be confusing."
Cons: "The flight was an icy 61°F. My wife apent most of the 11-hour flight wrapped in 3 blankets. When meals were served, it took at least an hour to clear the trash. Seat space is minimal, but becomes completely intolerable when the person in front reclines their seat. Knees get smashed and the tray table becomes nearly inaccessible. This is a torturous was to spend half a day in a middle seat. This airline still uses the old-fashioned two connector headphones hinting at the age of the airplane. At least the tray tables weren't smelling of vomit and visually dirty as on previous flight. Crew didnt miss an opportunity on either of our flight to charge us for every little luxury, like a snack or alcohol and were fast to hawk their goods for sale. Truly annoying."

Super unhelpful and rude. Then our flight was delayed two hours which caused us to miss the train we needed out of the airport to West Jesmond. Thus forcing us to take a cab that was horrifically expensive. Super bummed on heathrow and British airlines. Would not travel through heathrow again."

I had a forward facing seat at least, which are all by the aisles. They seemed narrow. I didn't sleep (never do). The breakfast was a bit lame. Getting into buses from the plane IS lame. It took a while to get to the terminal."

Cons: "London/Heathrow arrivals had us going to gate A and through all the security and then we found after going through the security check (1 hr) we saw that the gate for Flight to Venice was B gates. We are not young people, but we aren't ignorant of travel. There was a lot of running around on our part with a lot of undue stress, when we didn't have to leave the E gates at all. There were no gate assignments posted when we landed until 30 minutes out while we were running back to E gates. There is no excuse for that, except we didn't know til the last minute where we were supposed to go after asking 2 people. Why the second check for security after the states on connecting flights? Is this new?"

Pros: "Crew was polite and professional, despite plane being absolutely packed."
Cons: "Food was really horrendous. Better off sticking with basics like frit, cheese, crackers, sandwiches, etc. If I pay extra for early seat selection, don't guilt me into switching with someone who didnt, because they didnt have enough leg room and had a bad leg. Situation was such that I couldnt refuse. So ended up paying extra for a really crappy seat. Seating chart should indicate where the metal boxes are that affect leg room in certain seats so those with a disability aren't seated there."

Cons: "Loading sucked. They couldn't keep those that are not boarding yet out of the way for those in the back of the plane to board first. Made one comment to the crowd and then gave up."

Pros: "Cabin crew were excellent, good food. Nice blankets and pillows, crew allowed 'quiet time' for sleep with no disturbing announcements. At the end of the flight, after people were getting off, they let my airplane-loving son and I look at the 'upper deck' of the 747 and my son got to sit in the captain's chair for a photo."
Cons: "Seats were cramped, no USB or power sockets, older seat-back entertainment screens"

Pros: "The attendant at SeaTac was very helpful and pleasant. He arranged better seats for my sister and I."
Cons: "We paid ahead of time for seats, but got better seats once at the airport. They lost my sisters luggage and trying to get this corrected was arduous. They did finally deliver it to our hotel, but a day later than we were told. During the flight, no one came by to pick up trash so we had to tuck it in the seat back pockets."

Cons: "Had to ask for water several times, they didn't come around much (hardly at all). Boarding was a joke, way too many "classes" and two doors that all went into one line--so it was slow. They should just do first class then business and call "seats through whatever" instead of gold, silver, bronze or what ever they all were. All toilets ran out of toilet seat wipes so all women had to sit on dirty toilet seats or wipe them down first, no paper protectors either! Gross! BA used to be the best but am afraid it's not the case any longer!"

Cons: "I went jfk to mallorca through Madrid. Upon arrival to Madrid the passport control was 2hrs so we and a lot of other people missed connections. At the Iberia counter we were put on the next flight out to mallorca, that seemed to be no problem (FYI bags will be late and you may too since iBeria ‘must’ keep thee on time global record) , other than our bags came a day later. UPON arriving 20 days later for our return trip they said our return trip was cancelled because of a ‘no show’ on our original inbound trip. They said they had no proof we were on the next flight and asked for our Receipts to prove it. Said we had to buy new tickets, after 2 hrs, crying, yelling and most of Iberia telling us there was nothing they could do (told us to call BA since they were the co share for them) we finally got a high enough supervisor and they put us on the return flights. I’m sure we would have had to buy new tix if the flights were full. Have been overseas many times and this never happened. Will not use a 3rd party online ticket agency again- will go direct to airline, and not Iberia."

Cons: "We wasted 20 min. with the checkin machine. It should be written somewhere that if you fly to the US, you have to go to the traditional check in line. After entering all the info, the machine crashed. It was frustrating."

Cons: "The guy in the same row as me took off his shoes and used the remaining seats between us as a bed. I thought it was rude and disgusting and showed a lack of spacial awareness. Blankets were not very soft. Also, one of the flight attendants was really struggling to push any of the trolleys, running into the arm rests of the seat."

Cons: "There was a tall guy sitting behind me, and I was forced and prevented from laying back during a 7+ hr flight."
