Slightly surprised that it comprised a number of buildings (four I believe) that were not interlinked.
Pros: The staff were excellent and it was very much appreciated that we were located within the same building as our Daughter and family. Great location with good parking. If the our bedroom had been at the front of the building it could have been noisy.
Cons: Given the staff rating of the Hotel we would have expected a bigger and more comfortable bed with better quality linen. We were on the top floor and a lift would have been useful particularly for our bags

awkward small bathroom, not very friendly breakfast waitress, no eggs at breakfast free cookie very good, bed comfortable
Pros: proximity to airport
Cons: Getting to the hotel, a friend came to pick us up and seeing the gate and 4pound parking fee she panicked and parked on the road outside and got a 60 pound fine from police who arrived in a minute! a note at the entrance could explain ticket validation!!!
good location. good restaurant. clean with larger and well appointed rooms.
Pros: Within walking distance to the airport terminal. Room was large and clean. staff were very helpful to change our room as the first one did not have operating air conditioning at the time, although they tried to fix it. Restaurant was reasonably priced

Didn't stay long enough to get a good feel, but the location is beautiful and the rooms were big. We felt the room decor was too 'trendy' for the classic feel of the place. It was also very dark. If you have time to enjoy the grounds, that is a big plus for the area.
Pros: Beautiful location and open room. The building is beautiful as well.
Cons: The decor was dark and overly 'trendy'
Jesmond Dene House is a small, 4 AA red star privately-owned boutique-style hotel with 40 bedrooms that sits nestled within the wooded valley of Jesmond Dene. A country hotel setting yet only minutes from the suburb of Jesmond or bustle of Newcastle city centre and the quayside. The original house was Georgian, designed for a local doctor in 1822 by John Dobson who was responsible for many of Newcastles handsome streets. It was then developed in the late 19th century for Sir Andrew Noble, business partner to Lord Armstrong, the great Victorian inventor and engineer. The Grade II-Listed Arts and Crafts mansion was extended and enhanced until it was bought by Newcastle City Council in 1933. For the next 65 years, it had various uses, including being used as a college, Civil Defence establishment, seminary, and as a residential school. The building was in a very bad derelict state when it was bought, restored and then opened as a hotel in 2005. In addition to the bedrooms there is a 3 AA Rosette restaurant offering a selection of daily menu options ranging from breakfast and afternoon tea to A la carte dinner or Sunday lunch. Functions, weddings and business events can also be accommodated in a choice of four private rooms including the Great Hall, a spectacular, double-height room catering for up to 100 guests and with oak and silk wall panelling, Gothic windows, carved inglenook fireplace and minstrels gallery. The aim of the hotel, since opening, is to provide the highest levels of service, hospitality and food for both business and leisure guests, using local produce and suppliers where possible.

A bar/lounge and a terrace are other highlights, and rooms at this upscale hotel offer 24-hour room service and minibars.
This hotel is directly across the street from a large sports stadium (where Newcastle United play). We were not there during a game or large event, so we didn't have to contend with large crowds or anything like that. But this might be something to keep in mind if you are staying here.
Pros: Interior design was very nice and surprisingly upscale. Rooms had very nice amenities, such as a rain shower, heated towel racks, fridge, and microwave. Free and fast WIFI, too.
Cons: Hotel is in need of some upkeep, especially for a place that is aiming to present itself as upscale -- e.g. small but visible water stain in the ceiling of our room and some other minor upkeep issues. Nothing unclean or dangerous though.

Pros: Checkout was quick allowing us to get away from the place.

The staff at this hotel is incredibly friendly! They will bend over backwards to make sure you have what you need. The hallways are noisy, so you can hear everything from inside your room, but it was always brief; just people coming and going. If your room is on the front of the hotel, you can hear everything outside, even with your windows closed. But because everything closes early in Jesmond, it was never a bother. I was in a renovated room, so it was quite nice. It was on the small side, especially compared to others I saw. But I was happy with it. There are plenty of local bars and restaurants within walking distance, as well as the ones attached to the hotel. The staff alone would make me return to stay here anytime! The rooms are worth what you pay for them, and the location is decent. The elevator (lift) is scary beyond all reason.. Take the stairs.
Pros: The staff is amazing!!! They will go so far out of their way to help you.
Cons: You can hear everything that goes on in the hallways. It wasn't bad during the week, but on weekends it was pretty noisy with all of the bachelor/bachelorette parties. There was hair in the bathroom when I arrived. I didn't mind, some might. Overall clean
