Our bags did make it to Sioux Falls, so my wife didn't have her prenatal vitamins, , we had no clean clothes and we were forced to spend the night in Atlanta. The saddest part of yet another terrible experience with Delta was that they offered us a "discounted" room at a terrible Howard Johnson for $72. I looked online and the same hotel was $65 to book on Kayak. So basically Delta was trying to scam us after they screwed us. Thanks Delta! Instead we paid $200+ to stay at an airport hotel. Every time I fly Delta I regret it, yet occasionally I get forced to take their awful airline to get somewhere I need to go. It never fails to add another bad Delta experience to my long list of failings from this SAD!!! airline."

After I found out it was a plus seat, I acknowledged to nearby the flight attendants and nearby passengers I didn't pay for this, that there was a mistake, and I could move if there was someone who did pay for it. What I received from the flight attendants are accusatory remarks/comments about how shouldn't be there because I didn't pay for it (after I acknowledged this before anyone even had an issue about it) and passive excuses that didn't make much sense when I asked them why there ws this issue in the first place. I was fine with moving seats from what I was initially assigned to, I was fine with being moved twice thereafter (first moving to 21E, then to 23E). What I was not fine with was 1. the accusatory tone by the flight attendants that I tried to take someone else's seat 2. even though I was given the seat by the person at the check-in desk when I didn't even ask for it and 3. after I was the one who initially brought up this issue in the first place and was willing to changet seats with he rightful passenger. Please learn to take responibility for your actions and mistakes and errors rather than blaming it on a passenger who just wants a safe flight home. Thanks."

He’s 7lbs, so he can’t be much smaller a dog, and his carrier it turns out, doesn’t fit under WestJet seats, despite being within carry-on luggage dimension limits (their life jackets take up most of the legroom), and thus could not be any bigger. Did they want me to have a smaller dog, or a Euclidean space-defying carrier? I suppose they were suggesting that taking a dog aboard WestJet is abusive, because they certainly don’t provide adequate space for anything larger than a hamster, they hassle you about it, and they charge you $50 for the fun of it. One agent had the nerve to reach into his carrier without permission, unannounced, and invade his personal space, him being a rescue and very anxious."

However, after waiting 20 min for the de-icing that never came, they made us get back off the plane because of mechanical issues. The captain/pilot was rude to the woman working the desk over the radio, to the point where she had to leave the desk and go speak to him in person (she knew we could hear everything.) That conversation is also how the whole line of people was informed that then knew about this mechanical issue since the night before, and chose not to fix it before boarding all of us. After getting to Philadelphia later than expected, we were forced to pay for hotel food that was horrible and overpriced. Only to then have our plane be delayed AGAIN because of mechanical issues, again the pilot not giving much information to the attendant she was faced by a room of 40 angry people and had no answers. The departure time slowly crawled out longer, and the only reason I knew was because of having the American app. Information/communication on all ends was poor. I usually fly Allegiant, which is notoriously “cheap,” and I’ve never had an experience like this. Happy my boyfriend has flown with American before and knew to give us an extra day so we didn’t miss the wedding we paid $800 in airline tickets to attend. Just disappointed."

The crew on the other hand stayed professional and friendly."

Cons: "As stated above, we never made it to Liberia (where we had family waiting for us). We had to fly first to Panama and then to San Jose and figure out a new rental car situation, as we already had one booked in Liberia."
Cons: "After being so delayed on our first flight from San Francisco, I was nervous about getting to our connecting flight in Houston. We were assured by the flight attendant that when a flight is delayed and has connections, they communicate that to the gates and we would be fine. It was the OPPOSITE of fine. We landed with 10 minutes until the flight to Costa Rica left and they let all of us who were connecting deplane first, only to run full speed to a gate who’s plane left 10 minutes EARLY and decided that it was not going to wait for the 12+ passenagers who had no control of the delayed flight. My fiancé and I were flying to our WEDDING. So now I’m sitting here in Houston for a full 24 hours waiting for the next flight to take me to my wedding. The only “accommodation” united airlines gave us was a hotel. No compensation for the night we paid for at our resort in Costa Rica that we are missing, no upgrades to a better class on our new flight and no reassurance on how terrible they feel for this giant and heartbreaking inconvenience. I am furious."

Pros: "New plane with United. There was actually space to put my personal under the seat. Good free in-flight entertainment options."
Cons: "Late flight. No support to find back-up flights. No help with tips of how to navigate chicago airport to hopefully get to connecting flight in timely manner. Shuttle service could have been mentioned. The area of the airport I would need to get to in Chicago was not known. Although thr flight to Chicago was by far not full Iwas denied my request to take my roll on on the flight. It fits under seat. I am 70 and had to run across the airport."
Pros: "Ease of boarding. Friendly and tolerant staff. Good seating for an economy short flight. Smooth flight, professional pilots."
Cons: "Having to check my carry-on at the gate. Tooooooo many children...Consider adult only flights!!!!! Tooooooo many overweight, ill mannered, bourgeoisie passengers....Consider better social screening of passengers. Hurried beverage service on a short flight....people don't need to eat and drink every 58 minutes."
Cons: "The crew, on the flight, were very short and rude. Acted like it was a inconvenience to them to even be there. I was very disappointed. I am a ex airline employee, and it hurts my heart when I see staff treat people with disinterest. So, over all I was very disappointed."

The girl who checked us in was abrasive to us and everyone in front of us in line, but maybe she wasn't trying to be, that was just her personality. Our flight got delayed which meant we missed out on seeing an old friend I hadn't seen in years, but at least we got there."

Pros: "I lost my wallet on the plane to San dieago. A very nice honest family turned it over to the crew. The baggage claim customer service agent ran back to the plane to retrieve it for me. It had everything I needed, my ID cash for my trip. I'm thankful for the honest people still in this world! Many thanks to the family and crew and uninteds customer service!!! A+++++"
Cons: "Let's see my seat did not recline. The stewardess bumped into me every time she passed. The flight attendant was wearing way way way too much cologne. They had no room for my carry on. The beverages took way to long. I could not use the Internet. You changed my flight time over and over and over I was supposed to leave at 5 I didn't leave until 10. I could not sleep because the flight attendants was wearing Christmas lights and they would wake me up and she keep bumping in to be be is she did not know how to walk in the isles. The cookie were stale. There was something in my cup so I could not drink my free drink. There's more. It was the worst flight I have ever been on."

Cons: "My flight out of Chicago was cancelled. I hate when they lie to you that it was weather related. At the time of my flight to White Plains at 1:50 PM there was no snow in Chicago or at White Plains, Moreover the 6 PM flight left to White Plains when it was snowing both here and there. The only option given to me was standby on the 6PM flight. So, I had to cancel my flights and it ruined myu weekend."
Cons: "No mechanics available and had to send for some, taking 5 hours. Didn't get to destination until late at night and missed my event."

Cons: "I didn't like that we then sat on the plane for 2 hours, then had to get back off. I don't really blame United Airlines for this because there was a storm. But if Kayak wants me to rate the flight I'd have to say it was bad because it didn't even occur."

Cons: "I didn't like the Snack (food), the entertainment...I was traveling with my 5 year old son & I ask the personal before boarding if I board after group 1&2 since I was group 4 he said no, he should've let me since I was with a toddler & I didn't mentioned my seats was on roll 11 not the middle or the back of the plane!Like seriously!!!!!"

Cons: "The airplane was cramped, legroom nonexistent (and I'm small and skinny). The plane was delayed and hot. The ride was bumpy. The crew was slow. I thought United was a premier carrier. I've had better experiences with Frontier and Spirit recently."
Pros: "Here's the situation- There are massive storms across the state, massive delays across the nation, and a tiny airport packed full of people. All the things needed to make a horrible flying day an even worse day for customer service. BUT the flight crew and terminal teams did an amazing job keeping things together and keeping guests happy. They communicated all the information they knew in a timely manner, and made sure to correct any connections that needed to be processed before the plan landed. Also they kept their calm as people flipped out."
