He was very animated and lively through the flight, for instance during the safety demonstration he would carry on conversations with those of us close to him seamlessly and effortlessly, plus make funny gestures -- such as a thumbs-up when the seat-belt was correctly fashioned -- during the presentation. His wife was the head attendant (?) who gave the instructions, and he had fun with that as well. These are two people who do their job well, enjoy what they do, and leave a positive experience in the hearts of those they serve. I think they would be a fantastic feature story in Alaska Airlines magazine in the future."

Cons: "Originally, I was scheduled to take a JAL flight from NRT to DFW, but for some reason, American Airlines switched the service to their own aircraft and crew. If I would have known that beforehand, I would not have purchased my ticket through AA.com. During my original online booking, the screen said JAL service from NRT to DFW. Just about everything was bad about my American Airlines flight. I travel to and from America several times a year from Asia. Each time I travel, I swear I will never fly an American based airline for the trans-Pacific portion of my flight. My latest experience with American Airlines only reinforces that resolution. The in-cabin crew is (and I'm being nice) pathetic! They are veteran flight attendants and they look and act like they could care less about the customers on the flight. Frankly, I'm just downright disgusted with the service and personalities of the American crew's attitude. They act like they are old and tired, uninterested in quality service, and that we (the passengers) are an imposition upon their life. For example, mid-flight, I walk to the back of the airplane for something to drink, instead of assisting me they point to a "station" at the Emergency Exit door stocked with random drinks and snacks. While they are chit-chatting, looking at their smartphones and reading newspapers, books, and Kindle-type devices. That has never happened on an Asian-based airline flight. Another example, in-flight food service, the cabin crew members are waking people up to serve food and, instead of being gentle and cordial, they are rude and impatient. My 2 row mates were both Asian, and because of being awakened and the ambient noise in the aircraft, they could not hear what the flight attendant was asking. So, with a tone of impatience and disrespect, the flight attendant virtually shouted at them their choices for the meal. Whatever happened to the "customer is always right" or the "customer is king"? My renewed resolution: I will no longer fly American-based (because Delta is even worse) airlines to and from Asia. They have us all shoulder to shoulder in tiny waiting areas then suddenly we get on line to board and have to stand six feet apart and then on the plane we are squashed all together anyway. It’s all so stupid. Not having the ability to get a boarding pass from the online app or printed made me have to wait in a line 300 people long to access the kiosk and then half of them were down. Then another line maybe 500 people long just to be allowed up the escalator to where there is another line to go through exuding checks. Nuts!!! My flight was an hour and I spent three hours online getting to it!!!"

The only option given to me was standby on the 6PM flight. So, I had to cancel my flights and it ruined myu weekend."

Pros: "Here's the situation- There are massive storms across the state, massive delays across the nation, and a tiny airport packed full of people. All the things needed to make a horrible flying day an even worse day for customer service. BUT the flight crew and terminal teams did an amazing job keeping things together and keeping guests happy. They communicated all the information they knew in a timely manner, and made sure to correct any connections that needed to be processed before the plan landed. Also they kept their calm as people flipped out."
