Cons: "Since Alaska Air used an aircraft from Seattle to return to Seattle, mechanical issues created a seven-hour delay in departure. Alaska expected us to remain at the gate, even though they had no intention of replacing the aircraft that would take 5 hours to arrive ONCE it eventually left Seattle. Upon arrival in Seattle, we were told we could only continue to Anchorage by splitting up, each of us taking a different flight. I checked with gate agent because had received notification of ONE of my three bags being on the carousel at Seattle, rather than going to Anchorage. She assured me all three bags were going to Anchorage. Arriving there 19 hours after our appearance at New Orleans Airport, we found one of our bags had indeed been left in Seattle. 8 hours later, still no bag or call. Good thing there are a dozen Seattle to Anchorage flights per day."

I hate having to squeeze through and hope I don’t knock anyone in the face with my bag. I don’t like I can’t pick my seat and that my seatbelt is a little too tight. If I get a seat in the back I’m waiting for everyone else to get on and then for them to get off the plane. I guess I’ll have to pay the $75 fee for “first class” next time since that’s the only way to update my seat. And if I have a “saver rate” ticket - I should be able to still change my flight within 24 hours. I wanted to come back a day earlier and it was the same price! But I would’ve had to cancel and repurchase for an additional $200!!!"

Was nice to have electric outlets at the seats. the crew from bwi to sea were really good. pleasant folk that worked the aisle quickly and made many trips with drinks and food."

Pros: "I was happy it was a nonstop flight on a somewhat new and very clean plane. Plenty of leg room, though the seat almost felt narrow and the person next to me was on me the entire trip. Seat comfort was good, I prefer firmer padding on a longer trip. Attendants were attentive and quick about helping passengers but felt like they didn’t want to be there. Boarding was also fast, though slightly confusing."
Cons: "I didn’t like that after I booked my ticket Alaska moved the time to much earlier in the day and I had to take off work. There’s no built in screen; tablets are available to rent, but for the price tickets are I shouldn’t have to rent something or use up my battery. Plus having to either hold my phone/tablet the whole flight or use what little space I have on my tray to prop it up isn’t enjoyable. Also the snacks were lacking, one bag of cheese crackers was my only option for a flight over 5 hours."

Cons: "We had to make an emergency medical landing which is fine it had to be done. But then we had to wait a while for catering to come and bring us food. Most of us had already gotten off the plane to use the restrooms and get food. Then because the caterers took to long they cancelled the food order and told us they were having fingers out food vouchers. It was annoying g cause we had already gone and gotten food and spent our own money. Now everyone booked it off the plan to get food and we now waited another hour for people to come back. So altogether the plane was delayed 4 hours they could have just given us the food on the plane for free."
Pros: "The flight crew was incredibly sweet and helpful; one of them even gave me their personal TUMS when I said I didn't feel well."
Cons: "The flight boarded 30 minutes early; I arrived to my gate at the time of when my ticket said boarding started, but they were already calling final boarding call for my flight. I completely panicked. The plane was clean but the seats are very close together and there were no complimentary snacks- even though it was a 6 hour flight. On my flight back from Seattle on Delta, we got a complimentary meal AND a complimentary snack. I was expecting my Alaskan flight to be better based on everything I'd heard from friends, but my return Delta flight showed Alaska up; it was a spacier plane with way more food offered."
Pros: "Flew in premium economy - relatively comfortable. They had really good cheeseburgers for sale. The flight attendants were all professional. Had a special captain who came out of the cockpit to speak to the passengers over the intercomm. He was funny, personable and helped get the flight off on the right foot. I have about 350,000 miles with Alaska and about twice that number on other airlines. This was the first time I ever experienced such a personable interaction from a pilot. Flight attendants can be entertaining but pilots usually are too serious to make the passengers happy to be on board."

Pros: "I always enjoy flying with Alaska. The crews are generally nice and the leather seats are comfortable, even in cattle class. I like that they often give out the Biscoff biscuits, yum. I had lots of room on several of my flights, on one of them I had an entire row to myself, which was awesome."
Cons: "The fact that even on 5+ hour-long flights they still charge for the food is a little silly to me. But maybe that's how they all do these days. Still, it's unfortunate, or, it might have been nice to have more than one snack served up on such a long flight. The wifi is a little hard to maneuver, even with an instruction card. The Go-go inflight thing is cool, but they don't really advertise that you need to download the app while you're still on the ground...which they should advertise in their concourses or something."

Cons: "I have never been on a flight where I was bumped in the leg or arm repeatedly. Passengers were constantly up and down the aisle along with the carts hawking their wares. I trussed myself up like a turkey with the seatbelt so I wasn't on the armrest so as not to get hit again. My grandson who is a lot smaller than I, tried to put his head down to sleep on the tray table. He looked so uncomfortable. I know the deal is butts in the seats, but even the seat bottom is horribly uncomfortable. These planes have become cattle buses. I put up with it because there is no choice and I can't afford first class."

Cons: "I had booked my flight to take off at 2:30 PM, but when I checked into London Gatwick, my boarding pass given was 7:30 PM. Of course there's no Alaska desk so I couldn't ask anyone there. When I got to Vancouver, they said they weren't sure why I was bumped, but there were seats left on the plane. However, I had to go to the gate to change my flight because I had a checked bag. Got to the gate, and of course, it was sold out. And they told me they weren't sure if the 7:30 PM flight would be taking off. So I grabbed my bags, made my way via train/bus/hitchhiking across the American border where my dad picked me up. Never got a single reason why I was bumped in the first place."

Pros: "We had a flight attendant, by the name of Bob, on the flight from SLC to Sea-Tac. He was very animated and lively through the flight, for instance during the safety demonstration he would carry on conversations with those of us close to him seamlessly and effortlessly, plus make funny gestures -- such as a thumbs-up when the seat-belt was correctly fashioned -- during the presentation. His wife was the head attendant (?) who gave the instructions, and he had fun with that as well. These are two people who do their job well, enjoy what they do, and leave a positive experience in the hearts of those they serve. I think they would be a fantastic feature story in Alaska Airlines magazine in the future."
Cons: "I've never liked the limited food choices and entertainment on flights from SLC to Spokane or Seattle. I know they are short flights, but a little more could be put in. I know Delta has on-flight entertainment from LAX to SLC, perhaps this should be done."
Pros: "The crew and staff were very friendly and the flight was smooth except for some turbulence which cannot be controlled. The Embraer 175 was a very comfortable aircraft."
Cons: "The boarding process was different than other airlines. After the special needs passengers and 1st class boarded they just opened it up to everyone else and it create a bit of a mad dash. That could have been controlled a bit better but otherwise it was a great flight."
Cons: "The flight was 4 hours late. I wasted an entire day sitting in the airport. You knew that the flight was late hours in advance and should have texted or emailed me to say as much. Instead, i checked in on time, and within 10 minutes we went from 'On Time' to four hours late due to equipment and crew. Very inconsiderate and unappreciated to your customer. The flight should have been free after such an inconsiderate gesture on your part. Instead, you send me a gift certificate that obligates me to spend more money with you in order to redeem it, and then within a certain period of time. If I have choice in the future, I'll lean toward a different airline than yours. You clearly do not value my time nor my business."
Pros: "Nothing. I didn't take flight due to punishing re book procedure that Alaska employs to basically steal money from it's customers."
Cons: "They weight the value of 1st leg much higher than the return AND they want to charge you $125 change fee. My grandma passed away and I needed to reschedule my itinerary. Alaska stuck to their policies (you know, those pages of microscopic text that is written by lawyers for sole reason of screwing the customer.) I just felt really abused; told them to keep the useless "credit". I booked with Delta. At what point does a company forget who they are supposed to be serving? Perhaps the people that are actually giving you money and keeping you in business?"
Pros: "Crew on flight was good. We left late but made up the time in flight."
Cons: "We purchased 2 one way tickets and were given confirmation of purchase. When we arrived at airport to check in we were told we were on standby only. If we could not get on the flight then the soonest we could fly out was 48+ hrs away, arriving in Seattle at 2 AM on Monday morning. we had no one available to pick us up, we live 1 hr away from airport. After many announcements and many incentives offered 2 young ladies did give up their seats and we could get on. The flight went well but we were extremely upset with the promise of confirmation and the obvious overbooking. It probably is what many airlines do but not good customer service was given to us. We often fly Alaska but this was a bad experience."
Cons: "All legs of my trip from San Jose to Seattle to Philadelphia and back were all delayed; so much so that on the trip to Philadelphia, I had to be rebooked on Delta; and on the trip back to Seattle, I almost missed my flight due to a 50 minute delay on the runway waiting. I found out that "officially", the plane was "on time" because the plane closed the doors on time. Also, same thing from Seattle to San Jose, we were delayed 30 minutes due to a tire that needed replacement. Again, "officially" we were on time, because the doors had closed and we were just sitting inside the plane."
Pros: "I've always liked Alaska, but they really blew this one!"
Cons: "Mechanical delay started as a "few minutes back to the gate", then 1 1/2 hrs sitting on plane at the gate without updates, then "get off the plane while we turn off the air", another 2 hrs without definitive info, then "we're bringing in another plan in a couple of hours", then after 5 hours of waiting, an announcement that flight is cancelled. Finally they announced a replacement flight setup for 8am, but at 4am, Alaska sent texts that the replacement flight was delayed till 1:30 pm. We finally left Palm Springs for Seattle at 2:40, 26 hours late. But the worst part of the experience was the terrible communication. A few e-mails or texts or PA announcements as the time passed would have saved about 90 passengers the frustration of waiting hours at the gate area and ticketing desk for info about options. Alaska should have been more respectful of its customers. Minimal effort was made to answer our questions."
Pros: "First off Bonnie at the boarding gate was phenomenal , She has an amazing disposition ( especially at 5:00 in the morning ) she greeted each and every customer by name and with a smile ! Our flight was delayed for 2 hours as we sat at the gate while problems were fixed . The Captain made sure he kept us informed as each problem occurred and was fixed . The rest of the flight crew remained patient and attentive , which of course kept all the customers onboard calm and patient as well . My daughter just moved to Seattle and if this is the norm for this airline I will continue to use them for my future visits ! Elizabeth"

Cons: "My 06:05 am flight was cx'd on 12/6 due to weather condition. I was moved to another flight which would turn a 2 hour direct to 8+ hours to Las. It would not work for me, and there is no other resolutions that Alaska airline could offer. So I had to buy a new ticket from Delta at the airport and flew out at 7:30am. Noted the very next Alaska flight @7:30am and the rest of the direct flights for the day to Las were all on time departure flights. I must say that i am disappointed for Alaska's emergency contangecy plan and its response to a mild conditioned winter weather, and afterall the "best resolutions" that the airline could offer."
Cons: "There was a 20 minute flight delay before we boarded. They announced there were mechanical difficulties, which took further time. After we left the gate, we were told that our pilots had timed out and we would need to return to the gate to get a new crew. We taxied for a long time back to the gate, then there were further delays while they added the gas they had used in taxiing. In the end, we arrived more than 2 hours late. It is hard to understand why they didn't anticipate this and replace our pilots before we left the gate. This was the return part of a round trip ticket; there was also a more than 2 hour delay on our earlier flight due to mechanical difficulties."
Cons: "They kept canceling flights even though other flights were going out of Seattle and landing in Bozeman. But the gate agents were promising that the next flight wasn't gong to be cancelled and that I was going to have a seat, so I didn't book another flight from Seattle to Bozeman on a different carrier. So I spend 3 full days waiting at the boarding gate with the gate agent saying boarding would begin in 30 minutes the whole time. Finally they just sent me back home to Oakland. I missed my last chance to see my grandfather alive. He just passed away. To add insult to injury, they they wouldn't refund the ticket because I "used" the ticket for a lovely vacation to the Seattle airport for 3 days."
Cons: "The check in process was cumbersome with being able to partially get checked in at a computer kiosk and then having to wait in line to see an agent while other people are jumping the queue and not having to wait... then having stood in line for 10 minutes an agent tells you that you could have been in the "fast" lane... but there is no or little signage indicating which line you should be in.... that's frustrating. Don't expect your customers to be unconsciously aware of all of your convoluted business practices... put some signs out... we at least like a hint. Other than that, for air travel it was a very good experience."

Then to top it off, we’ve landed and been told that it will be at least an hour before we can deplane due to no availability at the gate (it’s 1145 pm right now). All this plus their new policy of not allowing us to select our seats because we bought the cheapest tickets. Really Delta? You go ahead and cater to the rich and I’ll choose to fly with another airline."

Cons: "I could see on the Fly Delta app that I had been placed in seat 10B, but neither the app nor my boarding pass gave me a group to board with, so I assumed that I needed to board with group 3, which necessitated gate-checking my rollerboard bag. Only when I approached the gate to board did I notice on the info screen that I had been "upgraded" to Comfort + and granted boarding with the Sky Priority group. I wish this had been clearer so I could have avoided waiting to board and gate-checking my bag. Minor inconvenience but room for improvement on Delta's part."
Pros: "This was not my original transfer flight but everyone was much nicer and helpful than serious and being rude. Love Delta, I did not flight United because I wouldn’t have met my United flight once landing in ATL. The Young African American woman who was at the gate was amazing and so reassuring that I would make my flight to Chicago. Would book Delta, just because of how nice she was to me."

Our first class seats were comfortable, but with the supplied blanket, pillow and poor air conditioning it was a hot flight. The cabin personnel were wonderful as per usual, and my tasty gin and tonic soothed any discontent. I wish I could fly this way all the time!"
Cons: "The private contractor handling wheelchair assistance was terrible. A Delta employee theorized that they do not pay enough to attract and retain personnel. Our pre-arranged chair was not there, multiple calls by our Delta assistant finally got us a ride to the chair holding area, but after about 45 minutes we gave up and shuffled off to the security area on foot. Thank goodness my hubby is mobile enough for that to have been an option. When we abandoned our wait we were still 4th in line for an attendant to push the chair. If Delta has any responsibility in this it would be in the retention and compensation for the private contractor."
Pros: "We were traveling with a toddler and infant but put in different row because the tickets were purchased separately. Gate staff promptly put us together and even bumped us up to delta comfort. Was a very pleasant trip. Thanks delta!"

Cons: "They board the front of the plane first, meaning the aisles get clogged up slowing down the process. Also, staff kept insisting pre boarding that more people needed to check their bags because there wasn't enough overhead bin space, but there were plenty of bins not full by take off."
Pros: "Accident on way to airport, so I showed up to check bags 45 minutes before flight time. They said they couldn't get the bag to the plane..in 45 minutes? So, they put on the next flight... 6 hours later. Said I could fly without the bag... uh, no thanks. They would not look for alternatives without charging me more. Flight attendants were crabby, otherwise everything was fine. I flew British Airways a few months ago. Night and day. Seriously. Delta does not even approach having good service. There was no comparison to British Air--- Delta is not in the same league."

Cons: "We booked with Delta, but were put on Air France. Even though we had our boarding passes in hand we had to wait in long, slow line for baggage tags because they would not print from kiosk. There was minimal Air France staff on duty serving thousands of passengers during busy season (July). While the lines grew larger, the staff was reduced from 4 to 2. Another long, slow line for customs, another long slow line for security=Charles De Gaulle airport was awful. We arrived at the airport 4 hours before our departure time and got to our boarding gate with no time to spare."

The flight attendants were nice but I was in a seat near the engine and it was making really weird noises. I fly almost every two weeks, so I'm used to engine noises but this was one of the loudest/most rickety sounding flights I have ever been on.. and I have flown Spirit a few times. It just didn't feel safe. Landing scared me a little too as I have landed in O'Hare countless times and have never flown so low to the highway upon entry. It felt like we were only a couple hundred feet above the cars."

The attendant shut off the lights as soon as we got in the air and kept it dark in the cabin until 10 minutes before we landed. She never came around to check on us once or ask if we needed anything. I was so thirsty when we landed. I have decided that I will either go back to United Airlines or check out the 1st class options at American Airlines better next time. This might not have been their fault, I'm not sure what it was, but the flight was late landing and we took off an hour late as well which really put me behind schedule."

In short, AA left me stranded in a strange city at midnight with no accommodation and no luggage. It was 18 degrees and I was in t-shirt and shorts. What a memory."

Allegiant posted an initial delay of 30 minunutes but then, when there was a further 2 hour delay due to a problem with the plane in Vegas Allegiant didn't update the time. (G4 568 was showing a two hour delay, with a 1010 arrival into STS but Allegiant never updated the departure time for 569 to reflect the additional two hour delay.) It wasn't until I called that it got updated and when I called I had to point out that the airplane hadn't even left Vegas and Allegiant was still showing an 8:50 departure time. It also took the reservation agent over 20 minutes to get any information about what was going on. Lastly each and every time I call I was on hold for a minimum of 20 minutes before being able to speak to a person"

Flight left at 10:40. We were only 5 minutes late for the cutoff after a 15 hour flight with delays that were NOT our fault but were the fault of the airline itself. Our seats were terrible going back and they did not even offer us any kind of voucher to help with the added time and stress of having to wait for another flight and take an extra one."

They knrw ahead of time about the turbulence, perhaps they could have quickly passed out pretzels or cookie before the flight took off."

The second delay was due to someone putting way too much fuel in the plane so we had to wait for the excess fuel to be removed. Then the flight attendants ended their shift so we had to wait for another crew that was flying in from Denver. This involved us having to remove all of our things from the overhead bin and get off the plane and re-board about an hour and half later. I was supposed to make it to Dallas at 8:45 and instead didn't make it until after 12:30. It was extremely inconvenient and unpleasant. I have not experienced such a nightmare before with any previous airlines."

Cons: "Dear United Airlines, It is my dearest wish that reading the following inflicts upon you at least a fraction of the stress, frustration, and pain that I have been through traveling with you today- you absolutely abhorrent excuse for a company. Due to your incomparable incompetence my arrival was inexcusably delayed almost 12 hours. An account follows: For a company who's customer service is already hanging by a very thin thread you would think that you would be doing everything to make your flights as smooth and pleasant as possible. Shall I elaborate on the utter frustration and boredom of being trapped in the San Francisco airport facing not one, not two, but what became SEVEN delays? Delays that have been caused by runway maintenance- a condition which someone in your company would have known about well before I got to the airport and that you simply did not plan for. A almost FOUR HOUR delay that could have been easily avoided if you just had things together and scheduled your planes around the affected runways. And let's not forget the additional delay caused when your flight crew simply couldn't be found to come to the gate so we could start getting underway! But no, I think the absolutely outstanding quintessential experience that defines flying with United airlines is this: After the above delays myself and my fellow passengers were finally able to board our flight- only to be told by the captain that there would be another brief delay while we waited for ANOTHER crew member because one of the pilots was near the end of their union hours. We sit on the plane stuck for another 20 minuets or so, only to be told they can't find anyone, and can we please get off the plane because our WHOLE FLIGHT is CANCELED. The kiosk I get to try and fix this is uncrowded but understaffed and run by clearly undertrained employees. The ones I'm dealing with keep having to ask each other for help, and give advice/plans that contradict one another. One of theme even takes what seems to be a personal call while 'assisting' me. When I finally get ahold of a supervisor I have to plead to get the next flight out of this godforsaken place, which I am reluctantly given as its with one of your competitors. Talking with other customer and airport staff is sounds very much like you are delaying/canceling flights for your own personal gain or at least not correcting flights around the situation to squeeze more money from the situation) it becomes quite clear that you are not only still incapable of accepting any real measure of accountability but entirely disgracefully unorganized. Almost 12 hours later I do finally make it home- thanks to American Airlines. Only to have the utter displeasure of one last interaction with United wherein when I pick up my bag your employees insist that I was delayed due to the weather and it wasn't your fault. It was entirely absolutely your fault."

Cons: "People had the usual trouble with the overhead bins - I think staff should be more restrictive regarding letting people take on bags that are too large. More gate-checking of things larger than a backpack would speed boarding process."
Cons: "After boarding, we had to get back off plane number 1 due to mechanical issues and were told that plane #2 was ready for us and that we would be able to board immediately. After all passengers rush through the airport to the new gate, we wait 45 minutes for them to tell us this plane won't work either. Finally, the 3rd plane we attempted actually worked and we ended up being delayed 2 hours."
Cons: "I booked a one way flight to Dallas (DFW) for my father and I using Kayak to leave from washington D.C. (IAD) 05:30 PM - 08:04 PM United Airlines Flight 6296 Operated by Oriental Air Bridge I booked it for Saturday January 21st and it went to pricline.com and confirmed it. The problem is that when I looked on the confirmation email/boarding pass it said I was supposed to be leaving January 20th, so as you could tell on my account I had to purchase another 2 tickets with another airline. Cons: "Delay and then having to change gates - at O"Hare that means walking and walking some more !! After being insulted during check in. The RUDE woman (poor English) with assisted boarding then the RUDE man that changed my name and my luggage he chose to send to Dayton OH -never been there in my life and he "dug" thru my luggage - as if he was searching for MONEY or GOLD -he pulled out a protein drink and I asked him to hand that to me so I could drink it as I am a diabetic - he shouted at me "I THROW AWAY'. During the two hour delay I could have used it !! Poor service I will fly American from now on !!!!!!!!!!!"

Pros: "Everyone was great helped me make my flight on time and great service."
Cons: "The flight was delayed over 4 hours. The seats are horribly uncomfortable. My flight was supposed to take off at 8:30 pm and it is past midnight and we are now taxing back to the gate."
Pros: "Even though the flight was a little delayed, the crew really did their best to get everyone boarded as quickly as possible! They were all very nice, and the little snack was delicious!!"
Cons: "It really was a positive experience. Like I said, the flight was delayed 45 minutes, but it really wasn't bad at all."
Pros: "We volunteered to be bumped to another flight, but instead ended up on our same flight but with upgraded seats!"
Cons: "Unfortunately the stewardess was a little rude and treated my husband and I sub par compared to the other first class passengers. Yes, we were upgraded from economy but we felt she should have given us the same service as the other passengers. When she passed snacks she quickly put the basket in front and didn't even give us a chance to say no before walking off. Didn't offer refills to us but others were given refills/offered."

Pros: "I am Brenda Crooks, Zachary's mom. I am the one that actually took the trip. I went to Connecticut to see my son, Samuel, get his white coat for medical school. I will never forget my experience in Newark, New Jersey. I met a wonderful woman named Yevette who checked in my luggage. She is to be commended on going above and beyond the call of duty. I don't know her last name. She knew I was very upset because I was leaving my 22 year old baby in Connecticut. She sympathized and comforted me. She put her arms around me and assured me that everything was going to be alright. She is a wonderful woman with a big heart. She is the true meaning of a lady. I will never forget her and thank her so very much for being so gracious and kind to me."
Pros: "Less of a delay than I've come to expect with United."
Cons: "I would also like the breakdown of my flight combined. Having to justify paying more for an economy seat (Plus) I can move in is not fun on an expense report. I feel like it's more and more expensive (nickel and diming) and no space and all to frequent delays. I'm considering switching airlines."

Cons: "Arrived SIX hours late, did have luggage which was nice."
Cons: "Horrible flight delayed an hour and the. Waiting an hour for my bag to learn it didn't make flight even tho I was at ther airport 2 hours before flight left. They said couldn't deliver it until the next day so had to go back to the airport to get my bag! Horrible experience !"
Pros: "Good level of standard service. Finding the personnel are getting better in their individual service. Understand their job is difficult but a positive attitude can make everyone's situation better. Keep working toward better. Seeing the improvement is encouraging. Really like the improved cleanliness of the aircraft. Great job getting the aircraft boarded -- we were ready ahead of time and pushed back early!!!!!"

Cons: "The flight left Houston late. The check in process was fine, we were asked to check our bags because the flight was full. Once on board and seated the flight attendant came on and said there were 5 bags without the proper tags for people to claim. How could they have improper tags when the person at the gate was giving the tags out? Four bags were claimed and with 1 bag (blue) left the flight attendants asked us 3 more times "whose bag it was?". When no one claimed the bag one more person from United came down the isle holding the bag asking everyone one last time. I heard him say "I was told to do this". At this time 4 more people boarded late. I thought after a certain amount of time boarding would end?"
Cons: "Absolutely terrible. My first United flight delayed over 2 hours causing me to miss this flight."
Pros: "Do something about your snacks and entertainment"
