1. Location to subways and the usual, i.e. restaurants, midtown, etc. 2. The hotel was clean and the rooms honestly were a lot larger than I expected given I have stayed at a number of micro and or boutique hotels in NYC, i.e. Pod51, etc.
The room did have a dank, almost smoking smell to it. They could probably do a little more cleansing of the carpets etc but honestly when I played around with the AC, it turned out that was the smell. It wasn't really bad but if you stay long, then a probExcellent value. You do need to be ok sitting in the middle of 32nd/Little Korea as its active, busy, kind of Korean food smelly etc but conversely, it's great to have access to these restaurants, bars, places. Staff was helpful all the time. Room much bigger than I thought and nice.
The location is great - tucked in Korea town - close to Times Square but just out of the way enough to not be too busy. Second stay at the NYMA and the location is definitely my favorite part.
The bathroom was a little shoddy but the room was big enough and the A/C worked very well to keep the room comfortable.

The room and bathroom were incredible Cannot say enough good things about the comfort experience
Breakfast should be included as it was lacking in this department

Excellent price for NYC. Clean. Cool. Empire State building out the window. Staff was professional and attentive. Near to Macy's Join the Kimpton loyalty program for free internet!
One of my friends raved about this hotel. We booked it for my wife's birthday. The great service started when they let us check in 3 hours early. We had a room on the 22nd floor with a great view of the city. The bathroom was huge with a giant shower. Great location right by Penn. We missed the complimentary happy hour, but it is cool that they offer it. That can offset the cost of a night out in NY. At night we ordered a beer and a glass of wine from room service and they gave us a second beer for free. For a NYC hotel, the price was ridiculously low for the level of service, cleanliness, and comfort we received.

Quick and helpful check-in when we arrived. Great location. We keep coming back to the Affinia brand because of good experience and because of the value. This may be our new go-to hotel though because of its location. Across from. Penn Station and a couple blocks from Herald Square.
It was convenient for our evening concert plans. The young staff was very pleasant. The hotel was clean. Valet parking was very convenient and efficient.
Very disappointing. I have stayed there a few years ago and at other Affinia hotels more recently and found them very pleasant. This time I was surprised. First room assigned was a "closet". And was told it was an "upgrade". I was amazed at how small. The room we ended up with was also meager. One small soap for both sink and bath, no hairdryer and no indication there ever was one on a wall or cabinet, the lowest smallest toilet ever in an adult bathroom. No surface to even put down a hairbrush. Some sort of modular vanity and sink. I felt like I was in a converted tenement. Is this a standard room when a reservation is made through a 3rd party such as Kayak? And, the check in clerk said he was sending a bottle of wine to us as a courtesy. It never came. We will not stay here again.
