The front desk staff was helpful. I had to change cars because the first car I was given would not go when pressing on the gas.

Cons:

In Abilene, I walked out to the car after signing to find a larger than normal door ding. Had to walk all the way back in to question attendant who walked back out to check it out and the made a hand written note on the contract that no one else could read. Luckily no problem in Dallas. Can't the computer be inputted with info like this and the customer be informed at the desk?

We booked a oneway rental but when we tried to collect car they said they don't do one-ways. We had to have friends drive us to our destination.

Only draw back is that they should give you time to inspect the vehicle yourself before noting that it has no damage.

Pros:

I liked the unlimited miles makes a difference and will definitely get me to rent again if it stays around.

Cons:

The overall extension process and maybe price should be considered to be locked in at whatever rate you booked it at to begin with if extended. Just an idea.

Pros:

Pickup was great. Drop off was backed up and looked really understaffed for the volume of cars being returned.

Cons:

Drop off area better managed. We had to walk a long way to the shuttle bus terminal with all our suitcases in tow. Usually the drop is much closer to the building.

Pros:

I booked a rental car on Kayak with Enterprise but there were no cars available upon my arrival. When I asked to make sure that i was not charged, the Enterprise representative was unable to confirm one way or the other as whether i was charged. I tried calling Kayak but they were closed.

Cons:

Don't accept a booking if there are not rental cars available. 24 hour customer service should be available with Kayak.

Staff was friendly. The vehicle drove very well.

Cons:

There was some trash in the vehicle leftover from previous customers. I felt it could have been cleaner.

Pros:

Nothing. I lost $65 dollars because I assumed I could use my debit card as a credit card like I can everywhere else.

Cons:

I came to pick up the car after paying online and having everything setup. I could not get the car because I dont have a credit card and the guy wouldn't take my debit card, eventhough all he needed it for was a $200 hold. Also no refund because the cancellation fee is the same as car price.

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

It was the first time we rented via Turo, so I don't have a good base reference to compare in general, and can only compare to car rental experiences with commercial fleets (like Budget or Enterprise). In general it was okay -- we made it to where we were going and back, with no major issues. It's doable. However, there were some "surprises" where things didn't quite got as we expected: * We made rental reservation with expectation that we're picking up at the airport. When we got there, it turned out that the car is not at the airport, and the address given to us turned out to be what seemed to be Portland's airport Fire Rescue Tower (where, obviously, we can't even walk to or be at). We called the owner, and turned out that the car is at some house that's "not far" from the airport, and gave us new address. So additional expense of taking Uber/Lyft to get to the car (and apparently that address exists in two neighboring towns, and somehow Uber/Lyft took us first to the wrong one, so we had to take another ride, but that's not a Turo issue, just more expense as a consequence of car not being at the airport as promised). * When we got there, we called the owner to get the keys: "-- Keys are under front door's floormat. -- Nope, they're not there. -- Then try mailbox? -- Yes, they're there." The owner wasn't there, which is okay to do this all remote, but would be nicer if owner was in general "on top of things" such as where the car is and where it is expected to be picked up, where exactly are its keys, etc. * Then owner requested that prior to return we take the car to be washed and cleaned inside and out. We neither planned on looking for car detailing places in Portland, nor for time that it would take away from sightseeing, nor for extra substantial expense it would be. We pushed back and the owner backed off saying that he'll let it go due to confusion with pickup location (and apparently he didn't send some email that he was supposed to send, or something along those lines). * And while the car wasn't too dirty, it wasn't clean to begin with (which made detailing request that more amusingly odd). Crumbs on floor and seats and luggage compartment. Worst part was that windshield was dirty on the inside that was minor unpleasant at daytime, but as driving progressed into night time, it was quite significant as it was blurring lights and affected visibility substantially. * We also added additional driver thru Turo and let the owner know. The owner requested that we send him picture of drivers license directly to him. We refused (as it didn't seem right, given that Turo is the one that manages that aspect) and he backed off. * Of course, additional expense of Uber/Lyft after return drop-off as we weren't dropping it off at the airport as originally planned. So all in all we probably spent additional $50-60 in Uber/Lyft for getting to and from cars location instead of it being in the airport, and lost about 3+ hours for dealing with additional unplanned travel. The rest was okay. Car drove fine and didn't give any problems.
