I liked the location. Steps from the Capitol and easy to get to center of downtown Austin walking. They need to make major renovations.
Cons. What could have been better? 1. Fewer cockroaches. They're practically part of the support staff. 2. Update facilities for the first time since the Kennedy assassination 3. Lower the price if you're not going to do 1 and 2 from above

Cons. There was a $25/per night parking charge that we didn't know about until check in :( That charge brought the price up a lot closer to some of the nicer hotels I had decided not to stay in to save money.
Pros. The location was great. Within walking distance of the Capitol. The staff were efficient and courteous.
Cons. The facilities were being remodeled. They definitely need it. My thought as I was walking to my room was, "what a dump." Also, not the hotel's fault, but there was a loud drinking party in the room next to mine that went on until after midnight. The walls are very thin. I should have called the front desk but didn't. Sigh.
Pros. The location and the comfort of the hotel was good.
Cons. I wish I had known the hotel was doing renovations. While this didn't really have any bearing, it did have some impact. The most upsetting is the charge for parking. If I had known I had to pay $25+ each night for valet parking (only option), I would never have booked the hotel. I didn't have that much budgeted, and it greatly impacted me.

The real complaint was the noise levels through the night. Sounded like I was at a block party until 4am with no effort by the staff to speak with the noisy guests.

Cons. Had to switch rooms upon arrival do to blood stains on one bed and questionable white crusty spots on the other. Found massive cockroach on the floors when we got back from being out all day in the new room. both me and the misses were covered in bites upon waking up. Almost certain it was of the bed varietal.
