It was a night mare; They didn’t care about the reservation and they don’t have any car available. After two hours they gave us a car, the car was extremely low. The worst part was; they told us the issurance we got with you doesn’t count with them and we had to get another their insurance. We have to pay more money than what we supposed to pay. If you book your car in San Salvador before 6:30am no one will be there. The agent usually arrives around 6:30. Ensure you have a translator or know Spanish. The car we got was an old car the engine light came on on day 3. Car did last the entire 10 day trip though.Reviewed Apr 6 2023

I made a reservation to pickup a car in San Salvador at the airport at 5:00 am I got to the front desk around 5:30. I wait for the person in charge for an hour. No body showed up, I had to rent a more expensive car in another agency, and still no one showed in Avis’counter. Very disappointed with experience. That was a Joke. when I arrived to Avis at San Salvador Airport first they changed the cost to higher than the quote I got when I was given on line then they asked me if I can drive manual shifting transmission car I stated the I wanted automatic transmission vehicle Suv , the said they did not have any and the lady at the desk pointed to to another person in the back outside her booth and she said that this particular person have a vehicle tha he can rent to me. since this person did not seem to work for Avis I refused to deal with him and I asked the lady to returm my documents, passaport driver licence and a credit card.that she had asked for and I moved to another booth to a company Auto Express and they gave a very nice Nissan Rogue that I enjoyed driving I will not recomend Avis at the San Salvador Airport to any body,Reviewed Feb 26 2023

In spite of several reminder email and text messages from AVIS during the weeks before the trip, when I arrived in El Salvador, AVIS had no cars whatsoever. I was stuck renting from another agency at almost twice the price. AVIS has no on-site or off-airport storage lot, and it's difficult to drop off the car at the end of the rental. I will never use AVIS again in El Salvador...and maybe never at all. How dissappointing!Reviewed Jan 29 2023

We had reserved one kind of car for a lower price but when we got there they said that they had to give it to another customer, so the only thing that they had for us similar to the one that we needed was for a higher price ( doble to be exact).Reviewed Nov 6 2022
