Difficult to find pickup and dropoff areas. Unclear instructions on the dropoff location and it took way longer than required.

I did't get a car from the category i asked on the internet reservation. I had booked a 'ford escape or similar intermediate SUV" (i have a screen capture of my original booking) and I got a Jeep Grand cherokee. That was 50 cad per day more expensive. I was threatened by the agent to cancel the reservation altogether if I continued questioning it. In brief, this interaction felt disrespectful and manipulative. The car in itself was correct and allowed me to fulfill my plans. I did my part, gave it back intact, cleaned and tank filled. But in the end, i paid way more than expected and booked.

When I arrived to pick up the car, they said they didn't have my car and that I booked it at the wrong airport. When I insisted that they look into it further, they refused. This cost me $30 in international calls to resolve as well as $30 in Uber charges. I would like to be reimbursed.

Terrible experience at pick up. They said the price we had reserved the car for was only 50% of the total payment because we had a different drop off city. Even though the reservation explicitly showed the different pick up/drop off and total fees. The car was in poor condition and the AC stopped working half way into our trip. The windshield was dirty inside. Next time, I’m going back to Localiza. Avis/ Unidas is a joke in Brazil.

The most terrible experience. I got there with my reservation number and they didn't have a car for me. I will never rent a car there again. In fact, I will never book a car reservation through your platform again.

Reservation requested at OGG booked to a location outside the airport. After waiting 1 1/2 hours in line I was informed of the location error and Avis was unwilling to honor reservation. Location booked had closed and I was forced to Uber to get to my resort. First and last time I will use Kayak or Avis. Very poor experience!

The rental car was dirty with a used water bottle in the back seat and filled with a colony of live roaches. The roaches were visible and scattered virtually every time we entered the car. They were on the seats, floor, dashboard, our clothes, and empty cups. Then Avis charged us an extra $1800 without our knowledge. When we called to complain, they said it was because we upgraded, but the only reason we had the roach infested jeep was because they had given out our car. Then they said it was because we were late to pickup (our plane was delayed 20 minutes).

They kept a $2,000 hold on my CREDIT card for a $240 rental. I think that should be made very clear to travelers before they rent a car. That could ruin someone’s vacation.

Absolutely horrible experience. A classical bait and switch operation. Sleazy to the core. It was " either you will pay four time as much as we advertised and agreed to charge, or we will not rent you a car", specifically targeting customers that didn't buy third party insurance through them. I ended up taking a taxi and renting a car next day from a competitor without any problems. Avis at Sarajevo airport is a disgrace to the Avis name. The man behind the counter had a name tag that said his name was Ermin Kovacevic, in case that Avis wants to do something to clean up the cesspool that is Avis Sarajevo airport office. I chose to rent with Avis exactly because I wanted to avoid situations like this, thinking that a well established company would have high standards and good customer service. Nope, I got exactly the opposite. Avoid Avis Sarajevo airport like a plague!
