good location, pleasent staff. difficulty to switch on/off light in the room.
Great location right on Khao San rd,close to temples and markets. Easy to use river boats to catch the BTS. Lots of cheap eats in this area. Nothing
The Hotel is too noisy because of the Mulligan's pub which is owns by the same owner of Buddy !!! Don't pay the normal price, you would feel ripped off and don't choose the rooms which are oriented to Mulligan'S. In addition, the breakfast is not good.
Walking distance to tourist attractions and the river with great street food right at your door. Good pool to relax by. Rooms have good sound proofing- Very little noise considering the location on Khao San Road and the night club located on the ground floor. Bed very lumpy
Not much to be honest. The air con was very poor. The sheets felt damp. The view was of a wall. The staff tried to get commission for setting us up with a tailor when it was us who were asking where it was.The breakfast was appalling.
The sheets on the beds were stained, as were the towels. Staff at the front desk were not friendly at all.
The location,in center of Koh San Road, the swimming pool on the roof, the breakfast is excellent, wifi access only 60baht per hour check out at noon unless pay half room fee to check out at 19.00 - very expensive
Our room (deluxe) was clean, our balcony was large with well tended plants, the bathroom was small but adequate. There was some noise from one of the hotel bars but no noise from the street. The breakfast was eccellent. Shame about the Macdonalds in the foyer! Some noise late at night from one of the hotel bars. The taxi driver booked for us by the hotel to take us to the airport did not use the meter then charged us 500baht!
Rooms and Pool are nice. Breakfast was ok. Hotel is very loud - if you want to sleep during the night it is not the best choice. Regular prices are very high (3,500 Baht) - and the hotel would not be worth this amount of money. Staff was not very friendly - no possibility of "late" checkout (1 pm), no help with the luggage when arriving, everything very stiff and no flexibility.
the staff was very friendly. the cleanness of room. the swimming pool on the roof.
Roof top pool is very good Situated in an exciting part of Bangkok
Location Missed an elevator,
It was basic and quite cheap and not too far from Ko Sahn road. I didnt want luxury, so it was quite perfect for what i needed. When I arrived my toilet seat had hair on... i wondered it if it had been cleaned or not. There were tiny ants everywhere, but that i guess can not be controlled. The price of the water was expensive.
Services and rate was good Hotel location so far from city senter. Really good for Backpackers. Taxi drivers doesn't know hotle's address.
verry samal size for duble bed & room & verry samely room i dont like it,
the fact that you need to buy your own or provide a lock for their safety deposit boxes (in effect not really "free of charge" and the rooms seem also not safe to leave things in as you are encouraged to padlock them as well as lock via room key.
location staff cleanliness and size of the room
The location was good. Small room. Food stuck to room service menu. Dodgy lock. Small dirty bathroom.
Apalling conditions. Rooms are dark, nothing but a bed and a sink, not even a chair. Location is good, but there are plenty of much better choices around.
Nothing to point Overall very Poor
great location, good value for the price
Close to Grand palace No hot water and shower machine don't work well.
Staff was very kind
The locations mach with my expectations that was stay walk distance from Grand Palace and so on. The breakfast ... should be better and the bath room (cold water and toalet under the shower).
Great staff, great location. Would definitely stay here again.
great staff, great rooms for the price breakfast selection was limited
Rooms reasonably sized and clean. No frills. Staff friendly. Location, Not one to stay at on your own. Felt a very unsafe part of town. But very short walk to better areas and all major tourist attractions.
me: breakfast my girlfriend: comfortable room for good price shover and toilet was in the same plase without any distance in the same small room view from my window
good bed. things that kills you: street noise; glutchy hot tub, tiny bathrooms, poor breakfast and poor knowledge of english.
the very clean room and bathroom there is no fridge in the room
It is a ood location for tourist wishing to be nearby the main attractions of Bangkok Hotel is not good value for money, no taxi driver did not know where it is. Other hotels offered much more services (wi fi , gym, pool) breakfast was atrocious, just fruit and toast and jam .
Only honesty of staff! All, except staff!
Although the rooms are on the small side, they have very efficient air conditioning and good hotwater. Pillows too hard!
Good hotel. It would be good to have internet. The street outside smelled like a toilet! The staff were so friendly though.
Location Very small room
I did not like anything about it! An absolute DUMP!By booking for 3 nights committed myself!A Sup[erior room --- what a joke ---- when I wanted to see another room I was greet by a gruff hostile reaction and an old picture was put under my nose "all the same he exclaimed"I paid 830 a nite when there were many better places for 400---I would not stay again for free.tv was crap the aircon loud the atrea was grubby----I'm actually angry about it ! Alan Mclaughlan As above
location, hotel staff,cool)))
I did not like the hotel. I did not like every thing there.
Yes the staff were very good and provided a very good service. However i think the menu could be expanded in order to cater for broader food range
Staff is so friendly and helpful.
Extremely friendly staff. Spoke decent English. Arranged shuttles to Wats. Good, complimentary breakfast. Beautiful courtyard. Breakfast near canal can get stinky, but it's not bad.
On the 2nd floor was a nice beer garden, the hotel is located close to a food court. Food was below any expectations, staff was unfriendly, cleanliness was awfull and it's noisy. Take a room in the backyard (if you're not disturbed by the music from the beer garden).
However you do not feel it in your rooms, the smell on the public areas, elevators was so bad. However it is close to historical areas, like Grand Palace, the location is really bad.
Very good value! Large clean room. A very nice breakfast buffet included. Front desk service was very good and English spoken. I booked several tours through the front desk and their advice on selection was very good. The hotel is located in old Bangkok which is convenient for Palace, Shrine and River tours but a bit of a distance from the modern shopping centers and the newer part of Bangkok.
very close to major sights in the old town, china town and khao san road, only 2km or so, 1€ per taxi. hotel staff was friendly and helpful. not possible to open windows, therefore terrible air quality. although AC was working it apparently only pumped cold air into the room but no ventilation.
A nice and clean hotel with a friendly and service minded staff. I can't compare to other hotels in Bangkok but I felt that I got good value for my money. Let me start by saying that I would be happy to stay at this hotel again. The room was not in a poor condition but didn't match my expectations of a four star hotel (it probably would have if I had arrived at the hotel just after it was built/renovated). My room didn't have a flat screen tv as stated in the presentation (not that it mattered to me).
clean I checked in about 10:30pm on 27/8/2010, nextday request to check out 1 hr late at 1pm also not allowed- not flexible
We arrived late and staff were extremely accommodating. Our room was not large, but not too small, very clean and had lovely decoration/artwork as well as a fridge, excellent air con, en suite shower/bathroom and fresh cold water every day. Cleaning is notified as 'on request' -we didn't ask for this but our Roo was still cleaned and the bed turned down anyway. The reviews we read on here and tripadvisor had us worried, but the hotel couldn't have been better. The pool and communal areas are lovely, and the location perfect for what we wanted, right in the heart of khao San road. Excellent value for money. The key deposit of 1000baht is a bit of a pain at tue end of a long trip, we kind of needed the cash, but it was returned without question on checkout and was ideal to pay for taxi/airport food etc so not a massive problem. The pool is only open 1000-1800 which is a shame but probably is the reason it is so clean and doesn't cause any noise problems. Obviously at night silence is not possible owing to the location in the middle of party street Bangkok but the air con covers the window being shut and it is entirely bearable.
Shopping Here is very poor. And Khao San Rd is very noisy. You couldn't sleep if you stay here.
Great place to stay in the Bangkok's old town. Perfect location on Khao San Road which very near The Grand Palace. Compact room with enough facilities. Free internet computers at the lobby and also free wifi in the room. Really nice swimming pool. Great value overall.
Hotel was affordable, clean, had a pool and in a great location for those wanting to stay in the Khao San area. Hotel was noisy at night due to nightlife in Khao San (even though I was in a room at the back of the hotel). 1000 Baht cash deposit irritating.
Very good central location, good value for money - room size, swimming pool, We have arrived at 6.00 am and they let us check in and go the room straight away which was great after a whole night of travelling! The room was located just opposite the lift so it was noisy sometimes
Very nice budget hotel, perfect location, clean and new, awesome swimming pool on the rooftop
The hotel is ok, swiming pool is also ok. The only problem is the noise, but thats what you get on Kaosan Road. Rooms are a bit small (even the top one)
Front desk and tour sales staff were awesome!! The location was great, the breakfast decent and the pool was ok. We moved rooms twice. Once because someone smoke before us and second because we woke up to red ants on us.
hotel is right in the thick of tourist bangkok,a nice hotel for a couple of nights!!
Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was close to the touristy places like grand palace, Buddha statues, and temples. I was unaware that the location would be hippy central for all the white people suffering their post-grad life crises. Lots of weathered westerners trying to look like they wished they looked in college. Weird place. Far from the heart of Bangkok, and far from the normal Thai people, and far from the train system. Not good if you are trying to get real Thai experience. Good if you want to be surrounded by white Europeans with dreads and broken dreams.
I had a really good time staying at Rikka Inn. Great staffs & Great value. Nothing!
Very close to Khao San Road but not noisy, good price, comfortable beds. Walking distance from many restaurants and stores. Not the cleanest, bugs in the room, staff not friendly. Basically this place is a classic "you get what you pay for." The rooms are very basic but not the best, but the location is good and the price is a good value so this place is good for young travelers looking for a cheaper place to stay in the middle of a fun area.
Great location if you like to party. You can hear music and people all night long.
Good location right on the khaosan road. Large room, very clean, acceptable decorated, hard mattress (which we loved). On the downsize: no mosquitos net & no window. Poor breakfast (just omelette/scrambled eggs, some butter& 2 slices of bred, American coffee& some fruits). Still, you do not starve. All in all, good value for money. Friendly staff (they served us the breakfast 40 min prior to the normal opening hours as we had a morning flight to catch. Lack of window & mosquitos net. The noise & the loud music could be heard from the road till late in the night.
location is good, quick check in and check out, cleanliness of room, quiet night air conditioning didn't work
swimmingpool; international lelevision; incheck and outcheck takes too much time
Location and convenience of nearby facilities The staff weren't as friendly as I remember them being from last time (Summer 2007)
Friendly helpful staff and clean passages and rooms. Great pillows! None
Location and that it was clean en cheap! Tha staff is terrible! Unfriendly and this in Thailand, one of the most friendliest country in the world! Most of them are unwilling to help and speak poorly english. But it is cheap and clean and that is more important.
Perfect location! Close to Khaosan Rd but far enough to still be quiet at night. Harder for solo traveller to meet other travellers, very large hotel.
The roof-top pool was nice, decent breakfast buffet. The staff was very unfriendly and rude, not helpful at all. Part of the hotel does not have elevator service. The first room they tried to stick me in was a 3rd floor noisy walk-up. The room looked old and unkept. I tried to get another room but the receptionist claimed all rooms were booked, (she was not professional at all). I decided I wanted my money back, but she said I had to pay for one full night if I canceled. I asked to speak to the manager who wasn't there. She called the manager and I told her I wasn't happy with the current situation. They finally found a small pint size room on the 5th floor with an elevator, but I still found the room to be old and tired looking (AC didn't work properly). I stayed the night and put up with lots of noise due to the bad acoustics in the hallway, and bathrooms that vent into the hallway which cause more noise, stink, and humidity. (I didn't get any type of compensation for moving into a smaller 1/4 of the size room) The next morning (2nd night) they moved me into a large room on the other side of the building, which I found clean. AC, TV worked fine. Unfortunately again the hallways were very noisy, other guests were loud. I would skip this place if your looking for a good nights sleep. Your definitely not going to get it unless you drink a case of beer. Cheers!
Staff wasn't pleasant
It was quite comfortable to stay this hotel. No luxury but you can just relax. The room was quite tidy and clean. If you adjust water level you can have hot shower. Good value for money. After you check out you can leave your baggage at storage room with guy standing outside for 20THB /baggage/day,up to 3 month. Reception is always busy with guest arriving and leaving all day long. Plaza has lots of Indian owned shops and they are standing outside all day long and watching you walking past or tried to catch you as a customer.
easy access to everything . we will be staying again on way back
Stained sheets, hair in drain and on floor, unfriendly staff at check-in, pool only open 8-6 when we would have wanted to use it after 6
the place was very clean for the four days we stayed. The room did not get cleaned during this time but i'm sure if we asked for new sheets it would have been provided. Ignore other comments that toilet roll and fresh towels can't be found, simply ask nicely at reception. The pool is a very big bonus and it was nice not to be staying on Khao San Road.
