Pros: For a city centre hotel the rooms were quite large. We were there in summer (30°+) so the roof top pool/bar was amazing and romantic. Also for a city centre hotel to have two pools (roof and basement) was amazing. Finally staff were the friendliest I think I've ever experienced.

Pros: WE loved this hotel and wish we could have stayed longer. The amenities are great and we enjoyed the spa, the rooftop pool with views of barcelona. The room was great, very sizable compared to some of the other places we stayed in, comfortable and huge bed. The breakfast is AM-AZ-ING we wish we had gone earlier, but the food and spread was really good. Lovely space, wifi was great, communication with staff was easy. They were very accommodating. The decor and ambiance just spectacular we really loved our stay and would love to be back!

Cons: The lobby music is too loud, as is that on the rooftop terrace. The choice of music focuses on a thumping, two-beats in the bar rhythm. This could be improved, (and quieter).

The room was great, very sizable compared to some of the other places we stayed in, comfortable and huge bed. Pros: The location is right on the plaza opposite the cathedral as advertised. Would not recommend staying here if you are driving your own car. There is parking nearby if any spaces are available - if not you are in for a long walk with your luggage. We stayed in an updated (superior triple) room that was well kept by the cleaning staff.

Cons: Had a pretty bizarre experience at the breakfast buffet. I was seated at a table next to the buffet and noticed that a mother and son accidentally dropped a piece of the potato omelette on the floor. The mother picked up the food and put it on the buffet table surface and proceeded along the buffet. In the next moment a busboy picked up the food from the counter and placed it back on the serving tray. When I tried to explain (in a combination of broken Spanish, English, and sign language) that he should take this food off of the buffet as it had been on the floor he began screaming "you are cheating!" "We have cameras!". Maybe he thought I accused him of picking up the food from the floor. I explained the situation to the manager who did speak English. The most bizarre part was that the manager did not seem bothered that 1) The busboy continued screaming at me through the entire explanation. 2) There was food on the buffet which had been dropped on the floor. The rooftop terrace has a wonderful view of the cathedral but you cannot have a cocktail on the terrace unless you have a table. During our stay no tables were ever available. At 955 Euros for 3 nights there are better places to stay.

Cons: I had free breakfast included but my room number wasn't on the sheet so every morning they'd tell me I'd get billed which I ignored and didn't have time to talk to reception about it until the checkout day when they told me it was a mistake and I won't get charged which I didn't so it was fine. Cons: The rooms we had were a bit old and require modernising and in places fixing furniture. They had a poor view of other peoples properties and their washing lines. The area behind the hotel was not very pleasant and made us feel vulnerable. I wouldn't stay in El Ravel area (or even on the edge of it) again.

We were able to purchase our sightseeing tours and entrances directly from them and they provided a packet of maps and brochures. The room was very nice, comfortable and quiet. The man at the front desk pulled out a map and scribbled and highlighted all over it, pointing out all of the sites worth seeing and how to use the Metro to make it easy. We were able to pack so many things into our day and it wouldn’t have been possible without his help. When we returned later in the day, there was a lady at the desk and she was just as helpful, pulled out a map and showed us a few of her favourite affordable restaurants in the area.... the staff was top notch, the hotel was clean, location is central, and all facilities were up to date. We really enjoyed our stay and the staff made it extra special.

Cons: Our room was not even close to what we “chose” on booking.com. The room we selected listed a bathtub and a terrace. The room we received didn’t even have a window. No Window! It had a sky light which we couldn’t open due to rain. I don’t feel that picky, but I definitely would not have chosen this room/hotel, if I had been told up front that this room was even a possibility. It was more like a converted closet. Of course the hotel has “no control” so we got caught in the middle. It was pretty disappointing. Meanwhile the hotel has a huge sign advertising booking.com in their lobby, so the are clearly benefiting from this misrepresentation. Be care of the room you choose— really the only thing you might be confirming is the size of the bed!! As was our case. Good learning lesson and made for lots of good jokes but not worth the money we spent.

The shower taps were so frustrating to use and the shower hardly worked (had to call a technician to fix ours and there was no other room available), staff were not helpful when asking them for suggestions of places to eat and visit in the area as they barely spoke English, there was a daily charge for using the safe and there was ALOT of noise from the street at night we hardly could sleep. Not worth the price paid and would recommend staying somewhere else!

Pros: They were so accommodating with our flight schedule which arrived way too early and they were delightfully happy to store our luggage and escalate getting our room ready as soon as possible. We stayed there before the cruise and then came back for an additional 4 days and they did not disappoint!!!! The location cannot be beat and the value amazing! And last, but not least....we needed a cork screw (not exactly something you "pack") and the front desk was quick to supply that for us! They were on top of it!!! We will absolutely return and stay longer. Loved it!

Cons: below average cleanliness. I had troubles trying to book it over the hotel booking portal. The service was unavailable, no credit cards were accepted during the booking process. I had to book it for 25% more expensive to get the room I wanted.

Cons: This might be a European thing but I don't like that you are allowed to smoke in the hotel. We could not keep our balcony doors open because several neighbors were constantly smoking. I also wish they gave you more than 1 pillow per person, but they provide extras upon request.

We loved the hotel itself and everything about it. Rooms were clean, large and well organized. There is a lovely bar on the top floor with excellent drinks. On top of that, the hotel is right off the Plaza Catalunya, where all the different buses meet. And it is on La Rambla, one of the most famous streets in Barcelona. There is a very nice restaurant literally next door and flamenco theater straight across the street. La Rambla is filled with stores, places to eat, ice cream shops, vendors and souvenirs. I totally recommend this hotel for its service and super convenient location.

Cons: Rooms are fairly small (you cant open two suitcases at the same time). Beds and pillows were very hard, which made it fairly uncomfortable to sleep. We were intially given a room with two twin beds joined together to make a double but after advising them that we requested a double room and didnt think two twin beds joined together was accaptable, then moved us to a double room.

Pros: The location of the hostel was perfect for our visit. Right in the heart of old town of Barcelona and all the places were pretty close by to visit on foot. The check in process was smooth, beds made well, showers clean, and a good breakfast at a really low price. What else could one ask for?

Cons: The mattress was completely flat in the middle where people had slept over the years. There was only one thin sheet, which had hairs and dirt on it when I arrived, between the mattress and myself. Breakfast is only served for an hour, which is not very useful.

Cons: one of the staff memebers bardged into the accessible bathroom while i was taking a shower. door open to the rest of the hostile, tell me get outof the 'private' bathroom . that there was water on the floor, then lectured me bc the bathroom was not ready to be used. Its not my fault they were using the bathroom as a storage closet ( they were well informed of my needs as I let them know i use a chair part time when i booked the room). it was aweful and we left asap on the last day and i would never go back. Being berated in a busy public place while being naked , just trying to shower. poeple with disabilities shoukld be able to travel on a budget w/o these worries. its 2019, accessible bathrooms should be a right, not a privilege.

Cons: Rooms and bathroom were not spacious. Lockers were outside the room. No place for small personal belongings (e.g. wallet and phone) near the bed. Smelled bad. Bathrooms were filthy.

Cons: The rooms are very dated and not maintained to the same standard as the entrance and restaurant. Paper peeling off the walls from a previous damp problem. Staining to the paint on the ceiling. Bathroom door did not shut properly.

Cons: Clogged drain in shower. Had to get in a very slippery shower/tub, turn on shower and get wet, turn water off, soap up then turn water on to rinse. Otherwise tub would not drain and standing in ankle deep water.

Cons: The fact that for each of the three days I stayed there, the same long hair stayed exactly where it was on the shower wall...made me wonder about the cleanliness.

Cons: The room was max 8ft x 8ft. The single bed slopes down one side, there was no fridge, no kettle, no glass even! There was one iron in the whole hotel, it didn’t work. The room key didn’t work. The receptionist said the area was not safe for a single woman to freely walk about alone. He said I must not use my phone as a map. The most horrific hotel I have ever stayed in. The wooden floor was uneven. The decor was 1930’s (original and hence dirty). Horrific.
