Pros: Michelle (i think that was her name) upgraded us so we could get an early check in; our reserved room wasn't ready.
Cons: Other than Michelle, the other staff was apathetic and not particularly helpful. E.g we went to the front desk to request the shuttle for 15 mins later. The shuttle driver was there and said, "I was about to take lunch, but I guess I'll take you. It has to be in 15 mins." We came back 15 mins later and waited another 15 mins before he took us. There was another valet/shuttle driver so not sure what that was about. It was Sunday afternoon, not busy.
We were also charged $10.85 for a beer and a smart water from the mini bar even though we never opened the mini bar. They did reverse the charge after I saw it on my credit card statement and called but seemed sketchy.
Overall, it was disappointing. I'll stay the Renaissance in walnut creek over this place.
Pros: Luxurious. Friendly.
Cons: Paid almost $700.00/2 nights. I only used it to sleep so it was not worth it to me. The parking fee seems too much when hotel fee is already high. The toilet paper is rough. They checked me out for a different persons room and when I called it took them a while to find the mistake.
Pros: Pool and spa area are beautiful. Rooms are very comfortable and spacious. Great location, close to freeway and BART.
Cons: 20 dollar per night parking fee. Our room had a view of the kitchen roof.

Pros: First class fitness center, comfortable rooms, excellent service by staff. Like the layout of the restaurant. My go to place from now on when I am visiting the area.
Pros: with club sport connection - good facilities for excercise/relaxation
clean, well-tended facility
Cons: only valet parking - or try to find something out on the street and walk...
Pros: This hotel has functionally become my second home. My husband and I are both from the bay area and this is the perfect spot central to all of the grandparents. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious. The service is excellent.
By far, my favorite thing about this hotel is that it has an amazing gym with everything you could possible want. The kids world, made my children want to move to Walnut Creek, they loved it and want to know when we are coming back!. Cant say enough about this place, we love it!

Pros: Great rooms for a family. Nice accommodations. My kids love the breakfast.
Pros: The rooms were clean, the bed and pillows were very comfortable, and an extra blanket provided. Everything I used in the kitchen and living areas worked well, and the room was efficiently designed. The front desk staff was extremely pleasant, the made-to-order omelets were very good. I liked the close proximity to eateries and easy freeway access. Ample parking. Key card readers at all exterior doors worked well (not always the case, so happy to see).
Cons: My room had an extremely noisy bathroom fan and the shower did not drain properly, so I would stand in 3 inches of water at the end. There was no ice when I got in, so I turned on the ice-maker, which was very loud the first night. The noise from the adjacent rooms shower was a very high pitched squeal (they showered at 5am).
Pros: Our room was fantastic. We paid a little over $100 and we were put in a room with a nice chaise lounge, a comfortable King bed, and (to our surprise) a kitchenette larger than the one in my first apartment! It comes stocked with all of the dishes, utensils, pots and pans you need to cook full meals! The staff was helpful, and they had no problem accommodating my request for no down pillows (I'm allergic). Overall, it was a fantastic stay at what felt like a luxurious hotel. We will be looking to stay here again when we come back to San Francisco.
Pros: The room was very spacious. Liked the full kitchen, it's very helpful when traveling with children. Very quiet and relaxing at night, complimentary breakfast was great, convenient location with shops, theaters and restaurants within walking distance. The room was spot clean, overall a great experience.
Cons: The shampoo and conditioner didn't work for me and it would have been nice to see a little more color in the room(my personal preference).
Pros: The gym and breakfast was the best. It was also great to be so close to dinning and the freeway.
Cons: Maid service never came. Was a little disappointing.

Cons: Beds were not comfortable. Mattresses needed to be replaced.
Pros: good value, clean
Cons: The breakfast is not very good quality, everything is high in sugar.
Pros: I was charged twice for the room. The staff and management handled the situation professionally and promptly. Thank you!

Cons: When we checked in room wasn't ready but they did have an upgrade queen to king for $35 per night more. They charge $30 per day to park. If you want to take a guest to the pool they charge $30 per day per person. All the up charges made it rather expensive. The Meritage restaurant was not open. Only place to eat was small and not very good. It is an OLD hotel built in 1918 but upgraded. Rooms are small. The elevator permit was 6 months overdue.
Pros: Loved the look of the place from the outside..altho you quickly feel like an inconvenience being shuffled out of the way. The hotel is rich with history and has very nice decor..the room was big, with a big bathroom.
Cons: The trexk to the room was ridiculous, having to take two elevators and very long walks on different levels while carrying your things. The room floor needed vacuumed, you could feel stuff on the carpet. After we checked in, we left to go get dinner and you can't get out of the gate without a special card given at the front desk. Well guess what- oh, and it cost $30 for this parking privilege.
Pros: Wonderful location. Grand old building which has been well maintained. It had been some years since I last stayed there and the place seemed in better shape than it was.
Pros: Our oasis on the hill! The Claremont is a special place and I return there whenever I can; the location is central yet private and the staff is friendly, attentive, helpful and genuine. Each staff member, from the housekeeping staff to the manager, smiles and greets guests and is not only ready, but willing, to make your stay enjoyable. When there was an issue at check-in with the room assigned. Frank Flynn quickly and apologetically gave us another room with no question. In chatting with Fracesco (I'm sure I have not spelled his name correctly-my apologies!) in the lobby, we told him we were headed into the city the next day; he not only cautioned us about traffic and crowds in the Golden Gate Park area due to a concert, he recommended alternative areas to visit-and when he saw us a couple of days later, he asked how our trip went! A special shout-out also to Mohammad and Zachary who took care of us for breakfast in the Meritage restaurant-their service standards and guest treatment should be the envy of fine dining establishments everywhere. They made the start of our days happy and pleasant and really made an impact of the pleasure of staying at the Claremont!
Cons: The charm of an old beauty like the Claremont is also sometimes what makes you miss some things you might find in a newer hotel; the HVAC system can be unreliable and loud, the bathroom does not have an exhaust fan, etc. But having noted that, the graciousness of the wide hallways and high ceilings easily make you overlook those modern facility differences!
Pros: The look of the hotel
Cons: The check in staff
Pros: Location - close to everything including freeways. Facilities were excellent -- pool, exercise room, etc.
Cons: They treated me like a second class citizen because I booked not directly through them. Promised me a fridge and I had to find a facilities guy who didn't talk to the front desk to get one. Told me there was a free breakfast buffet, but then it wasn't free.
Pros: Stay was great wished new more about it before we got there to enjoy the facilities
Cons: Food prices were a little high
Pros: The Sunday buffet at the Meritage was very good. The lap swimming in the pools and 3 free hours of childcare included in the resort fee was also very nice and an unexpected bonus.
Cons: Ridiculously overpriced for what it was. $26 resort fee and $30 valet fee on top of over $200/night for a tiny old room that wouldn't even pass muster at a Best Western? The room was awful - outdated, small, old, musty and generally uncomfortable. Noisy from the hallway, the bed was saggy, the comforter stained and 2 adults plus a baby in a crib were way too many to fit in a tiny standard room.
Pros: Staff was very good. Room service excellent and the pools were great.
Cons: I asked for a taxi to take me to SFO. Instead of a taxi, they had reserved a sedan which was more expensive than a taxi. I thought it was a little bit cheesy. I'm sure that some people want to drive to the airport in a fancier car but they should specify. I asked for a taxi, not a town car.
Pros: Nice pool, spa and exercise facilities. My kids had a blast at the pool - it was nicely heated and they enjoyed it despite the cooler February weather.
Cons: Our room was below one of the hotel's restaurants. 6am on a sunday morning and isn't a great time to be woken up to the sounds of tables and chairs being moved. It's an old hotel so it's pretty loud.
When I checked out they gave me a bit of a discount and said that when we checked in that the front desk should have warned us that our room was loud... they really just shouldn't rent out the rooms or if they do charge less.... but they'd rather put guests in a position where they have to complain to get a discount.
Even with the discount if was an expensive weekend that wasn't as restful as you'd expect for the money.
The 276 room landmark Claremont Club and Spa, a Fairmont Hotel is situated on 22 landscaped acres in Berkeley with panoramic views overlooking the San Francisco Bay. It is known as one of the most iconic structures in the city of Berkeley and a prestigious regional destination resort. It is also considered to be one of the most prestigious Tennis and Social Clubs in the city of Berkeley. Named among the 10 best spas of its kind in the country by Vogue, Elle, and Shape magazines, Spa Claremont provides all the serenity and services you need to relax, rejuvenate and unwind. With three distinct restaurants, the Claremont offers you a choice of foods, spirits and surroundings to suit your mood and your palate.
Cons: Reception and bar service awful. Card keys did not work. A/C stopped working. Small, crowded lobby. Shattuck area is not inviting.
Pros: I've stayed here several times over the last few years; I had a flawless, enjoyable experience each time. This last trip they even held some rather bulky packages / equipment which had arrived a week early for work, without question. The staff is always friendly, rooms are immaculately clean, and the location (right across Allston from the Downtown Berkeley BART, a block off Berkeley's campus, and close to several good dining experiences) is excellent.
Pros: Every staff member I encountered was smiling and went out of their way to say hello, open doors, offer to help, etc. Very impressive!
Pros: I really liked everything about this place. My room was very stylish, and it came with all the usual amenities. The room was smaller, so I'm not sure if I would be happy there if I had to share the space with someone else. I don't know if all the rooms are that size, or if I just got a small room because I was by myself. For just me, it was the perfect size. The AC works well, which I've come to learn isn't a given at many "upscale" hotels. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is right in the center of everything in Berkeley, so there are plenty of restaurants, drugstores, cafes, etc. within walking distance. It is conveniently located next to the downtown Berkeley BART station. I didn't have a car, so I didn't need to deal with parking, but I imagine it's not easy or cheap. The restaurant has really good food. There is plenty of seating in the lobby/bar area to meet with people to discuss business or have a couple drinks. I just really liked it here.
Cons: They focus so much on helping each customer as much as possible, that several of us stood waiting at the check in desk for a really long time while one obnoxious customer waxed poetic about all the things he wanted to do while he was in Berkeley. They need to be more conscious of calling for help when a line starts to form.
Cons: Bar & restaurant were under renovation-- if I had known at time of booking I would have stayed somewhere else
Pros: Conveniently located in downtown Berkeley, across the street from the BART station and a couple blocks from the Cal campus. Some nice restaurants and bars nearby. Very nice accommodations and this was the quietest hotel I've ever stayed in. I never heard a single sound outside of my room.
Cons: Rooms are a bit small but still very nice and comfortable.
Pros: Location. Front desk service was horrible. Room Service was worst. Terrible food. Had a hair in it. Oatmeal was lumpy
Cons: Service was way off.
Pros: Clean and vast room, everything working as it should.
Pros: Since my son started attending Berkeley two years ago, I only stay at the Hotel Shattuck when visiting him. Thus far, I've stayed at there six times. I have NEVER been disappointed in the accommodations. Admittedly, some reviewers complain about the price. But, hey, considering the location, accommodations, staff, and amenities, I'm not going to complain.
Advanced Purchase Offer: Save when booking more than 21 days in advance. Book now to lock in your discount! Restrictions and deposit apply. Shattuck Date Night Package: Get away from it all and enjoy a special night with your special someone.
Pros: The breakfast was great for a free hotel buffet!
Cons: The person checking us in was mind-blowingly slow. It took 30 minutes to check us in, having already paid and having a reservation confirmation, and with one person ahead of us. Madness.
Pros: Very clean, great bed and located by lots of stores and restaurants.
Cons: It's about 15 min from downtown Napa and Sonoma.
Pros: I really liked the friendly staff and how they kept the place so clean. They were even cleaning carpets in the rooms - that was impressive. Location was handy for the visit.
Free breakfast was a nice added bonus.
Cons: I would add more healthy and tasty items to the breakfast with reduction of fast food preservatives.

Pros: comfortable bed. Great shower and bathroom. clean. The front desk people were very pleasant.
Cons: Only one sink. no refrigerator. for two nights our phone didn't work and after 2 calls they brought a new one that did work. The cheapened it up a bit. No longer have a free breakfast like they did a year or two ago. Bunch of noisy teenagers with a ball team on Saturday night. Not as good as when we stayed a year ago. Breakfast with eggs was $14--no thanks. Still a decent place but not 5 star
Pros: Staff very friendly
Cons: No fridge in standard room
No usb outlets
Very hard, lumpy uncomfortable bed
No separate recycling bins in room
Pros: Courteous staff. Ice machines. Dining area.
Cons: Would have liked a small refrigerator in room. Would have liked free snack, fruit and yogurt with coffee in the morning. Would have liked block out curtains between the exercise area and the bar/entry area. Would have liked exercise bikes facing out, so that athlete doesn't have to face wall, having people watch her backside bounce on the treadmill.
Pros: What did you like?
You were one of the only hotels with an indoor pool in the area. We booked two rooms next to each other for our family and a group of teen-age friends. With the door open the rooms felt like one contiguous room; it was easy to go back and forth. The outside patio was very nice and no one else was using it. The front desk staff were very nice. We liked the lobby; it had several areas, including a fireplace that felt homey. The housekeepers were very courteous.
Cons: What didn't you like?
Pros: Clean with friendly staff easy walking distance for myself which is hard being disabled.
Cons: So close to the freeway our view was of traffic all day n night
Pros: Very clean
Super comfy bed
Very close to fwy
Cons: Room was a bit small

Pros: Clean rooms, well maintained. Hotel and Bistro staff during all shifts is very attentive and asking how else I can be helped. Very pleasant and professional experience - am a frequent guest there and has always been a good experience.
Pros: Nice hotel, friendly staff, comfortable, safe. I would stay there again.
Cons: Tv would lose signal sometimes while watching a program. I came down early to the lobby to order a breakfast sandwich and a Starbucks coffee, but the cafe wasn't open. The front desk offered other food from their market. It was all processed. I found peanuts and a bottled Starbucks coffee, but there was a hotel tax added to each item. Disappointed. Expensive.

Visitors are invited to discover Berkeley, from the university and beyond, at the Courtyard Richmond Berkeley. Easily accessible from San Francisco, the hotel offers an appealing mix of location and amenities, including a lively lobby scene with dining at The Bistro, four meeting and event venues, a heated pool, free Wi-Fi and a 24-hour fitness center. Cons: First, had to move rooms, heat not working in the first. Second room, some TV channels not working. The place is newly renovated but the work is marginal in places, for example, in my room the composite floor planks (no carpet) had gaps to the subfloor. Been at this hotel a number of times, not sure its the same.
Pros: Hardwood floors, bath amenities
Cons: noisy room, clicking sound all night, I was in a room located behind the elevators so I heard them running THE ENTIRE NIGHT. Updated hotel but I doubt I'd stay there again.
Pros: I love staying at the Walnut Creek Marriott! Every time I stay there the staff shows the most gracious hospitality. I always feel like I'm visiting friends every time I'm there. I am very particular about the hotels I stay in, and this is by far my favorite one. My room is always clean, and the area is always quiet. I can't think of a problem I've had that the Marriott staff resolved without issue because I've never had a problem with any of my reservations, room service orders, or special accommodations. Oh! I can remember that my most recent stay was the result of an unfortunate situation, and the staff gave me a complimentary $10 credit for a drink at the bar. I know it's small, but the gesture was nice; they acknowledged how upset I was and made an effort to brighten my day... that drink definitely helped! They new I needed it hahaha
In any case, Walnut Creek Marriott is and will always be my first choice.
Cons: Price of breakfast
Pros: Good location to freeway. Decent rooms. A bit overpriced for what you get, but in range for the area.
Cons: Valet parking only @ $21 for one night. What they didn't make obvious is that there is free parking nearby.
Pros: The service was outstanding
Cons: The rooms could use updating

Cons: Check-in person (yes only 1 person) was clueless. She would ask the questions but would not hear what you were saying nor did she listen to herself. There was no acknowledging that I was a Gold member. I had requested a room on the top floor. She called housekeeping (at 3:30pm) and they had nothing available. No offer if I would like to wait but gave me a 4th floor room. I asked for an upgrade (Gold member), "Nope, not available". Took 2 phone calls during my check-in and dealt with them totally before finishing with me. I ended up in a dark room with a 1/2 a window for 2 nights. 1 hour later I get a phone call, "How is everything?" I said "Eh, its OK". She says "OK great! Have a nice day!" I could have said "I have a cabbage on my head." and I'm sure her response would be exactly the same. She called again 10 minutes later and asked the same thing. I said "It is still just OK and you already called me." She said, "Oh, OK, Have a nice day." Again, asking the right questions, doing what the manual says to do, but totally oblivious to what is going on around her and could not care less. The room was old and smelled like feet. I saw quite a few people walk in the office to work but I don't think any of them realize that they are in the hospitality business. The cafe was typical and decent but are you kidding with the drink prices? $15 for a glass Franciscan Cab or Clos du Bois Merlot? The bottle doesn't cost that much. Too bad not a lot of choices in this area. May just have to drive further next time.
Pros: I liked that the staff was very nice and professionally as my fiance and I walked in and took the time to show us to our entrance after we parked
Cons: I have no negative comments it was a great place
Pros: The rooms were really clean the bed was comfortable
Cons: I was traveling with a service animal and the woman at the desk asked what type of disability I had which isn't something they are supposed to be able to ask
Pros: The Bistro
Cons: We had problems with the plumbing. The bathroom sink gurgled all night long and made a gross mess in the sink the next day. The hotel staff didn't seem to care too much.

Also minutes away from the well renowned Jelly Belly Factory and Anheuser Busch Tours.
Cons: Bedding sheets and bed spread. Would be nice to have cafe and bar since none close by.
Pros: All round good
Cons: Paper thin walls; 6am Exercise Music & audible throat clearing from next room & kids running back & forth upstairs, Ta RDG
Pros: It was clean. Basic hotel that's sort of worn.
Front desk staff was nice and very helpful.
Cons: After breakfast the staff was very, very rude while we were finishing our family meal. Coffee wasn't replaced in the lobby. A window was opened at 10:05 to the point we were freezing, they purposely banged around things they were putting away roughly just to make noise. It was like at 10am it was magically OK for the cleaning staff to be as rude to us as they wanted so they could clean. A grace period of 30 minutes to let people eat with their families would be more appropriate, not rudeness.

Cons: I was quoted a rate of $189 for tow rooms--I confirmed the rate when I checked in --When I checked out the first night was 189 but the next three were $193 --I know its only a $24 difference but it's the sort of experience that sticks with you --
Pros: I really liked the breakfast, the fact that there was two separate rooms with a pull out coach was amazing too. Really pretty pond through out the hotel.
Pros: Excellent service
Cons: Room a bit warm on 8th floor

Pros: To be fair I'm a Marriott person and the Walnut Creek Marriott was full. This hotel isn't bad at all, it's just not the Marriott! ; ). Clean and kept, just if you are a light sleeper, make sure you don't get a room facing the freeway.
Pros: Great prices, clean, excellent buffett breakfast, good location, and parking garage! Loved our stay!
Pros: extensive breakfast, plenty of food
afternoon cookies, a nice touch
free parking, a real plus
room clean except for carpet near bed :(((
the building is a little 'old'
Cons: see comments on other side
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful. They were very patient with us sorting out the various family names, who got what rooms that multiple bookings thru hotels.com caused.
Cons: Key card glitches. Seemed like every time we left our rooms someone's key cards weren't working when we returned. Also, rooms could use a little updating, starting to look a little worn.
Pros: The lobby obviously had been renovated. The breakfast was a cut above for that kind of establishment.
Cons: When checking in I was told that I wouldn't get any IHG Rewards points for my stay. Apparently, if the reservation is made through Hotels.com, there are no rewards points given to the guest--the very person who is paying the bill and to whom the points should be given!
I don't care through whom I book a hotel room; I don't even think about it. Hotel rooms are booked through some sort of intermediary all the time. That's how the hotels fill their rooms: they use booking agents to get their rooms in front of the biggest audience of potential customers--duh!
The most irksome thing about this is I purposely chose the Holiday Inn Express OUT OF LOYALTY. Why would I ever chose an IHG property again when they don't count every stay I make, every dollar I give them?
Pros: Everybody was very polite and made us feel welcome. The room was very clean and comfortable. It was a pleasant stay.
Pros: Location is convenient.
Cons: Check-in staff has as much personality as a cardboard box. Hotel isn't super clean and lighting fairly dismal.
Pros: We were thoroughly pleased with our stay. From the breakfast and lovely grounds, to the extra friendly staff, our time there was very enjoyable.

Pros: The neighborhood. Excellent restaurants, bars, shops in walking distance. Awesomely diverse.
Cons: Older hotel. Could use an update but still no problem. You are downtown so it is a little noisy and there are homeless people around. But....this is what Berkeley is so don't be surprised.
Pros: The room, facilities, and staff are great.
Cons: Breakfast could use some work. It was okay, considering there is no kitchen on site. But it wasn't even good catered hot food.

Pros: The hotel is very nice over all - the rooms are well-appointed with good amenities, the free WiFi is very helpful, and the breakfast is particularly tasty. The staff is friendly and helpful as well.
Cons: When we arrived, having requested an early check-in, the room we were assigned hadn't been cleaned, which should have been checked prior, but the front desk was able to quickly reassign us to another room. We were happy from then, on.
Pros: We had to arrive late and leave early. Staff was attentive and courteous, the room was clean and very comfortable and the breakfast in the morning left us rested and energized to start our day.

Pros: I arrived at 2ish, was really hungry, and went straight to grab a drink and bite from the restaurant. It was nice to know it was open. After such a long drive, was not in the mood to get back into my car after checking in to go look for an outside restaurant. And especially, the room was ready didn't have to wait til 3pm. Thank you
Cons: 2 things I didn't like....
1. Once I got into the room wanted to relax before heading out to a business dinner. I believe there was a basketball tournament. I can hear the kids out in the hallway being loud.
2. I think your prices at the restaurant are a little too pricey.
Pros: Pros :
Animal friendly while still being upscale they provide water and food bola and a pet bed
Breakfast in bed
Very friendly staff
Pool and jacuzzi
Cons: mini fridge didn't work so well (we brought a cooler though)
No air circulation in rooms. VERY STAGNANT. But it's a hotel so I didn't really expect to be able to open windows or anything, just a general pet peeve of mine
Pros: The room was nice and clean.
Cons: Staff was a little rude, and didn't really want to help us out. Also the additional $50 a night for insurance no one told us about. And they charge you $18 a night for parking whether you park there or not. The food wasn't the best, I've had better food at a complimentary breakfast buffet. Definitely not $17 worth. The people in the room next to us were smoking weed and the entire hallway reeked. For what you pay, I expected more from Hilton.
Pros: Everything apart from parking
Cons: $18 to park is kinda ridiculous when your already a paying guest staying at their hotel. Basically s back handed way to make their room rates look cheaper. They reduce the room rate by 20 bucks and then add a $20 parking fee.....
Pros: We wound up here by accident--my mom was very ill and having emergency surgery, our train was delayed...I am disabled, in a wheelchair, was exhausted and traveling with my even more exhausted 7 year-old. We arrived to the friendliest, most patient staff ever...there was no rushing us and they simply helped us get to our room and rest. They were courteous and genuinely helpful at a time when my tank was well beyond empty. It was a wonderful place to recharge during a very difficult time! Very high marks to the staff!!! The rooms were also immaculate and extremely comfortable.
Cons: I do not plan to use Hilton if I can avoid it in the future.
Pros: the rooms are nice
Cons: that the parking cost $15.00 per night
Cons: We reserved a king room; we were given two doubles... "All sold out."
Pros: Beautiful view from the 10th story of the Oakland hills
Cons: First night we arrived to an open bottle of almost empty wine in the warm fridge which caused the room and fridge a near permanent odor. The a/c durino our stay seemed to only work 70% of the time. 2nd day the shower was draining so slow that the water reached your calves and it took to days to be fixed. The door to the bath room was near to falling off its hinges. The fact it cost more than the much better crown plaza hotel and paying 15$ to self park. I wouldn't recommend this hotel, I'd suggest the crown plaza down the street.

Cons: Bathroom facilities had a couple of broken/difficult items
Pros: The facility and location are very good for me.
Cons: This is the third time in four weeks I have stayed at this hotel. Each stay being two nights. The front desk staff I think even basically recognize me now.
For this trip my wife had me in a king bed room w/a lagoon view, so a bit of an upgrade from my previous two stays.
After the first night, I went to work and returned to my room and was disappointed w/the housekeeping. The shall/blanket from the bed was folded and put on one of the chairs, the sink/faucet/soap dish were still dirty, the bath towel looked to have just been thrown in the slot...
I did speak to someone at the desk and let them know the disappointment, and was told that he wasn't surprised, that they were having difficulty w/the staff and/or short staffed. I kind of thought that was an odd thing to say when a customer is discussing a lack of service for the service provider to say they weren't surprised???
Pros: The emphasis on being green, recycling and water usage conscious. And the chocolate chip cookies!
Cons: The spa was extremely small considering the number of rooms
Pros: Get a 1st floor room with a patio! Lovely lagoon area with fish and ducks. The lagoon is fenced with a variety of plants including fragrant jasmine, lemon, and orange trees.
The bed is comfortable with down pillows and feather bed topper.
Staff professional and friendly.
The restaurant offers local and sustainable fare which is better than expected for a hotel restaurant. The vegetable soup was incredible!
Cons: The pool is small.
Hotel is located on highway and has train tracks at its rear.
The restaurant has is not open continuously through out day hours.
Pros: Bed was comfortable room was clean
Cons: Terrible location, remote, next to a casino, pool was really sad
Pros: close to napa
Cons: the restaurant was busy. not enough wait staff. I like to adjust the blowers on the fan but its up on the wall so could not get to it. A bit expensive but good value for the napa area
Pros: Bed was comfortable
Cons: No drinking water in my room

Pros: Character, old world, charming. It has a good vibe. Restaurant upstairs is excellent with good selection of wine. Walking distance to Berkeley shops and other really good restaurants.
Cons: The rooms were a wee bit small but comfortable. This is a very old building and built as a place of safe stay for women. There is parking but adds 20 bucks a day to your stay -not unusual.
Pros: The view of San Francisco was really nice from our room. That's the only plus I can talk about this place.
Cons: Everything else. For a 3 star hotel at a premium price, it was disappointing. While the beds seemed clean, they squeaked and creaked like they were from 20+ years old. The rugs where filthy looking with stains. And don't try using the advertised pool, where you first have to sign up for an available time slot and enforced to swim laps only. The breakfast, well, if you like bagels and cereal it'll do, but overall disappointing location. Absolutely would never stay here again.
Berkeley City Club offers a great location, putting you within a 15-minute walk of Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive and University of California - Berkeley. Guests can indulge in spa services and enjoy American cuisine at Julias Berkeley City Club, which is open for lunch and dinner. Other features of this boutique hotel include an indoor pool, a bar/lounge, and a terrace.
Pros: Close location to amusement park. We didn't go, but if you were planning to, this would be convenient,
Cons: Yep, there was a roach in the room. I only saw one, but that's kind of enough, right?
Pros: This place was so convenient and was beyond my expectations
Cons: Wish we could have stayed more nights. Now I know for the future
Pros: The location to sixflags
Cons: The beds and pillows are vary uncomfortable so I could not get a good night's sleep. The breakfast Hall was way too small but the eggs were excellent.
Pros: Close to six flags
Cons: No refrigerator, no microwave, but booked with it, even Called 5 days before to make sure there is refrigerator, staff confirmed there's refrigerator & microwave. No comforter on top of bed, got cold at the middle of the night. Bed not comfortable.
Pros: Most everything. Only had breakfast one day, but it was more than continental--scrambled eggs, waffles... nice.
Cons: The room was clean, but the couch cushions were rather stained, as was the carpet in the hallways.
Coffee was very weak.
Cons: I had a reservation for a 2 bed room that was previously paid for and then the costumer service rep charged me more than I what I had previously paid for. The carpets in the lobby and hallway where disgustingly gross. The room was good and clean but there was a used condom on the side of the toilet Wichita one of my kids pointed out. The pool and hot tub where extremely dirty as well but we where provided with really fresh towels. The continental breakfast was one of the worse i have ever experienced because the eggs made my kid sick, and all the cookware being used was dirty. The eating area was a mess and nobody was cleaning it. It was noisy, which is expected but I rate that best Western a generous 1 out of 5 stars. Usually when I travel for work I would rate the chain of best Western a 4 out of 5. Maybe the management in charge needs to be changed.
Pros: Great value! Nice hot tub and pool! Very clean. Nice breakfast and good coffee!
Cons: Everything was fine!
