Accommodations were simple but functional. We liked the place!
Beds were comfortable Rooms were clean Staff friendly Close to beach and boardwalk Restaurant on property is off the boardwalk so not a lot of traffic but the breakfast was great. Good prices and excellent food. Bring the kids, there is a sliding divider between the sleeper sofa and beds. Already planning our next trip to stay there Entry to room is tight. Elevators are small and squeak
We loved the location for the price Had a musty smell.
Room was clean and comfortable. Location was great and check-in was super easy. Staff were very helpful. Rooms were old and dated. That being said, they were in very good repair, almost to the point it felt more retro than old.
Excellent location right on the boardwalk, nice shared balcony for relaxing. Staff was great. Excellent value for the money.
The location was the only part about this hotel that I liked. In addition, during the day the pool was a nice get away from the beach. The room was disgusting: dirty sheets, dirty towels, dirty toliet, hair all over the floor and in the shower. There was such a bad smell coming from the air conditioner that my boyfriend and myself both got sick. The fact that there was no ventilación in the bathroom was absolutely unacceptable. Would never return nor recommend! :/
The lady who cleaned our room was very friendly and nice. The location was the only other thing going for this place. - Lady at front desk was fairly unfriendly. She told me to sign an electronic pad...seemed put out when I asked her what I was signing for. - Website advertises 'free wi-fi'...but fails to tell you it's only available in the office area. - Our bed was literally 2 twins pushed together with a mattress pad over top. - The DirecTV was intermittent. The only channel we were able to get continuously was SciFi. - The smoke detector in our room was hanging out of the wall by it's wires. - I'm convinced the shower curtain was actually a fitted sheet. - The deadbolt on our door did not work. - I had to call the front desk (from my cell because there was no phone in the room, and had to use my data plan to Google the number because again, no wi-fi) TWICE on Saturday afternoon to tell them we had no hot water. - We were woken up several times Saturday night be people partying outside our door and below us. We called the front desk but still had to go outside at 4am and ask the partiers to quiet down. - The pool was kind of dirty. I didn't see anyone cleaning it at all and the floor of the pool was stained. - We were given towels but no washcloths or hand towels (or bathmat come to think of it). - When all was said and done, I paid over $200/night for a place that probably sees quite a bit of hourly rate business in the off season. Lesson learned. Next time I'll pay double and stay somewhere reputable.
Great location for the money, was expecting it to be a lil bad/avg cheap beach room, all the bad reviews werected stuck up pricks. They weren't too far off and it was a pretty crappy hotel room. I don't like OC anyway, VA Beach is the same distance and cheaper/nicer for the money. If I paid $150 or less I would've been happier, but not terrible. We didn't plan on using it, but the stove was rusty. The bathroom sink leaked bad. The air conditioner leaked condensation all over the dresser.
Close to the beach The noise was unbearable. People were making noise. Sorry to say but will not recommend to anyone
Pool--terrific, though it's open only 9 to 9 Unplugged--because THERE IS NO WI-FI No Dishes to do--NO SINK OR DISHES THERE, and nothing to cook with; closest coffee is DD 2 blocks away Cozy--BEDS are SMALL, no room to put luggage except on precious floor space (or decades-old stained-fabric chairs) There’s a closet rod—though no hangers to dry bathing suits or clothes from beach PRIVATE--most of the rooms were empty--in the middle of July in OC; apparently for good reason OK place if ALL you want is bed, shower, toilet, and pool, three blocks from beach; and if you're by yourself, because there's no room, and no window or exhaust fan in the bathroom. "Kitchen Amenities" means 1 little fridge, which holds a rickety lamp, has teeny freezer big enough for 3 blue freezer packs, NO TABLE, NO MICROWAVE, NO CUPS, HAVE TO BUY ICE $3, NO COUNTER, ONLY SINK IS IN BATHROOM WITH NO COUNTER; "Free WiFi" means "only for the office staff." "Cable" means Basic Cable, the remote changes channels but not the volume. I am glad we had good weather and didn't have to stay in the room for a minute more than necessary.
No hot water! Needed to call staff to get TV working. Not even a plastic cup in the room for water. Deadbolt only locks from inside which made me concerned for my valuables when I was not in the room. The worst hotel I've stayed in for at least 25 years!
I loved the location and the fact that the walls were not paper thin. There was ample parking and I was given a parking pass as soon as I got to Ocean City so I could go out and enjoy the beach while waiting for my room to be ready. I did enjoy the fact that my room was changed to a pool side room after a rather unfortunate battle with my original room key. The first room I had I could not even open with the keys! I went down to the main office twice and was starting to become irritated. The pool was not heated as was advertised, and was colder than the ocean.
It was not very clean. It took awhile for the tub to drain.
I like that it was close to the beach and to stores. The location was great. I had problems originally getting into the room using both my key cards and was inconvenienced to get ones that worked. The worst part was the bathroom smelled heavily of urine and the lamp wasn't working.
I really enjoyed my stay here, i was imagining the worst threw the reviews. But it was a very good stay, checkin check out was quick. Quiet at night, the bathroom is outdated but everything was very clean the mattress was comfortable, for the price ithink this is a perfext stay everything is near, i would deff stay here again.
The location was perfect. It looked disgusting on the outside, was extremely outdated and the staff were not friendly. I would never pay that amount of money to stay there again. Not worth almost 200 dollars for one night.
Nothing. The place is completely outdated, which I can deal with old but not dirty.... There were stains on the bed sheets (red) I actually sniffed them and it was marinara sauce. There were red smeared stains on the wall which looked like blood and also on the shower curtain. Also there was mold on the faucet and no toiletteries .... My boyfriend and I refused to cover our selves withy the sheets so we slept in sweatshirts. Cheap is one thing but dirty and disgusting no. The price was completely too much for this nasty room.
Nothing Rooms stunk, dirty blankets, no hot water, everything was bad
I loved the pool. I stayed during peak season and there were plenty of beach chairs. It was super clean and offered a pool house with pool tables. I kind of wish the rooms were equipped with a refrigerator to keep cold drinks and left over lunch for a snack.
Free parking? Close to Hooters. Too much to list. stayed in room 114 and had no step into the room, had to walk through the garden. Bed bugs Brown and yellow stains and black hair on/in the beds Stained and dirty couches Scum on bathroom fixtures Black mold on ceiling and front door One light for the room, not enough room Went to rite aid and bought cleaning supplies to clean EVERYTHING! We told the office that our room was dirty and needed cleaning. They sent over someone that barely spoke English and old drug a wet mop around. And that was it, did it actually clean anything. Also used our own blankets l, still got bit by bed bugs Neighbors were pot heads. Pictures are very deceiving
The room was clean and peacefull . It was good location . In the nights the coffee wasn't fresh .
I loved that the hotel is minutes away from all the attractions....businesses....and beach The raggedy tv remote
This is pretty much an older well used hotel and not kept up very well. Overall I would say that this is a $49.00 a night place, not $190.00 as we paid. Had our payment been refundable, we would have found another, nicer hotel.
on arrival my room door was open -ice machine did not work at office - ice machine in back of rm 22 had no scoop and people were using there hands - remote wld not advance channels u had to know the channel u wanted and punch in - not good as the channels were different and u had to turn light on read card and so forth - TUB WAS VERY SLIPPY NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED - ALSO SHOWER HANDLE NEEDS TO BE LOOSENED VERY HARD TO TURN- NOT GOOD FOR THE DISABLED/ELDERLY = PHONE WLD RING AT 4 AND THEN AGAIN AT 5 am - I WILL NOT STAY THEIR AGAIN -
That place sucks, don't go there, isn't even worthed, they advertised that every room has small burner there was none, refregerrator don't even think about it, make the long story short that place not worthed.
The lady at the desk was very very kind. Didn't catch her name, but she always made us laugh. Room kinda felt like a jail cell
Under age of 25 security deposit of $150 They charge your card when reservation is made ahead of time It just wasn't for me
Close to the beach and all of the entertainment. The room seemed extremely clean. It was senior week and all of the young kids were noisy. Perhaps keep them farther away from the older crowd.
Convenient to the beach and Boardwalk Clean room Pool Small room Thin walls Priced a little high for the size of the room
My boyfriend and I stayed here for two days and two nights. They were very nice to us and my boyfriend even licked the bathroom door and they were able to get maintenance to come with in 30 minutes to get it open. And it is just off of the board walk. Love love love this place
They seem to work to keep up the cleanliness. They had cancellations and we could have upgraded to an ocean front unit, but they said they couldn't change a hotel.com reservation.
The hotel is less than a block from the beach. You literally fall out of bed into the sand. It also has a pool which was key for us. Free Wi-Fi. the motel has seen better days. There's no elevator that I saw. Beds were hard. Rooms were clean but the facility needs to be updated. Still- based on the location and the price, We were very happy. I would stay there again.
The room was clean upon arrival. Pool was nice and the location was good. Access to the larger Dunes Hotel was a plus. The place was noisy, hard to sleep with all of the banging of doors and people above stomping around yelling throughout the place all night.
We liked the location of this hotel. Right at the end of the boardwalk. So in the morning we walked the boardwalk and it wasn't too crowded. It is steps away from the beach. The lady at the front desk was extremely friendly and accommodating. The AC worked great and the room was clean. There is a microwave and fridge that were convenient and clean. If you are looking for luxury or a view, this is not the place. If you need someplace clean and in the perfect location to lay your head at night, then this place is for you. Everything about this hotel is good. The prices in Ocean City during peak season are way higher then I would ever like to pay. This one was a cheaper option but still higher than I like to pay for hotels.
The location was within walking distance of everything The floor was sandy. Did not have shampoo and soap for customers. The staff was very unfriendly. The sheets had holes in them. Bad lighting in the room.
Price, my stay was in late September. The location was very good. Very few television channels, and I read all the fine print, after I signed to agree to it and there are a whole lot of conditions to be met or a stay could turn out to be VERY costly. And I did not read where a unsatisfied customer can get their money back.
The location was amazing a block from the beach and boardwalk, next to a sunsations, bus stop, putt putt golf, and great restraunts. The hotel staff was super nice and respectful. Beds we very comfortable and room was nice. I was worried with people giving bad reviews that it wasn't going to be nice. But we will definitely stay here again if we have a tight budget. There is no shampoo or conditioner but, really, who doesn't bring their own. The tv channels were very limited so bring a laptop and dvds if staying long. It rained one day we were here so it was kinda boring. The bathrooms severily need updated. The floors are hardwood which is easier to clean, but when you have upstairs neighbors that like to walk around HEAVILY at 3am it is kinda sucky and the floor gets really sandy.
My husband and I actually really enjoyed our stay we were there for one night and it is worth the price 100%. I plan on using this motel again for future visits to ocmd.
Very clean, updated, short walk to the beach. Definitely going to stay there next time. Only bad thing was the WiFi connection sucked.
close to the beach Room was dirty. Air conditioner leaked all over the floor. It was very cramped with two queen beds. Bottom sheets were just flat sheets that barely tucked in, bedspreads were tattered (big holes in them).
firm mattress, wood floors seemed cleaner, very clean bathroom, very close to beach, really nice front desk staff
There was no pool. It was a block away from the beach. The rooms were very small. And the balcony was just a very small stair step porch.
The only thing I liked about my stay, was that I had a place to stay. The room was a very small size to accommodate such a large bed. There was barely any room to move around. The bed sheets had disgusting stains. The room felt damp at all times. Also the towel service man had unlocked and opened the door while I was half naked after my shower.
Housekeeping was extremely poor. Lighting in the bathroom tokk up to ten minutes to come on after the switch was turned on. Door to the room was difficult to open. Microwave had to be placed on a chair in order to make the cord stretch to the outlet. Will definitely not return.
The rooms were cozy, the view of the water was amazing. We did kayaking right on site. Also the staff at front desk was super informative and sweet. The only thing i didnt like was that noise travels easily through walls at night.
I liked that they were very friendly at the office, and gladly refunded my money. So even though my stay was not pleasant, they were good business owners in being cordial about the situation, and offered to give me price break if I gave them another chance. Their taking accountability of the situation made a bad situation much better, which did make me think they had integrity. THis place is good for people on a budget who like rustic/camping type places and don't mind it kinda rough around the edges. Room was dirty, and they did NOT FLUSH THE LINES OUT from ANTI-FREEZE from winterizing their motel, before issuing me my room. This plus the overall room non-cleanliness had me running out of there the next morning. They DID refund me with NO PROBLEM, and DID OFFER to give me a price break if I was willing to come back and try them another time. I doubt I will, but just the offer softened the situation, which was greatly appreciated. And it was a non-hassle to get my pre-paid money back for the other days I was scheduled to stay. The place is good for families or people who like "campground" style, rustic accommodations. It's bare bones at best. But good enough if you won't be there much on a budget.
Pleasant grounds; close to Ocean City beach via bridge; beach area accessible via Park & Ride shuttle that stops a mile or so from the motel. Kayak and canoe rentals are advertised, but hours of availability are limited by tides, and the person who handles the rentals can be difficult to contact. During a 3-day stay, we were unable to arrange a rental. Room cramped, but adequate as a place to sleep while visiting the area.
friendly staff. clean rooms, convenient location.
nice rooms cost
Location There wasn't a shower head in shower(just open pipe), stains on sheets, no remote for TV, bed broken(missing a leg/foot making it wobbly)...
Proximity to the beach. Queen room was insanely small, outlet for lamp was dead-moved me to a "suite" if that's what you call it.
location is good and staff were accomodating I thought the description said the room came with a kitchenette and private balcony, and it didn't. Also, construction next door is an eyesore.
Some of the reviews I read when I booked were not so good, but none of it was true. My room was very clean. Great Wifi. Very helpful desk clerk. My room was modernized and updated. Loved the balcony. Right on the canal. The motel stands by itself, so no noise from neighboring hotels and it has it's own parking lot. No completes.
Like the set up of the room and location People working there didn't help with anything. Room was only cleaned once in 5 days. No phone in the room it also said we would have wifi but that didn't work either. The shower head sucked. The toilet ran all night. No tv in bedroom. No elevator and we were on 3rd floor and I am 6 months pregnant. Had to walk to office every time we needed towels or anything. Also the driveway is not paved there is broken glass and I even found a nail in driveway. Overall hotel sucked.
It's a good location and off the main road. You also get a lovely view of the bay. And it's just a short walk to the board walk. The shower was awful. It was just like a mist coming out. And it was very hard to get clean. And also the toliet didn't flush very well. Also the walls are like paper thin so you could hear everything from your neighbors
