good situation for the old part of the city and access to the Guttenheim museum
Comfortable room, spacious for european standards. Bed was amazing. Very clean. Hotel smells delicious. Friendly staff. You can hear the noise from the hallways and contiguous rooms.
Location Purple decor
Location Floors are noisy
Very nice hotel, great location, easy walking distance for all the sights. No hotel parking but underground car park only 1 block away.
The location was great, very central. The room was very nice and great value for money.
I have apprecciated the central location of the hotel. Parking nearby is expensive and not easy. I have not enjoyed the noise in the early morning.
The breakfasts Smelly drains in the bathroom
Location atmosphere decor
we had 2 single rooms well furnished and clean lots of choice at breakfast and very sympathetically refurbished as always would like to see cheaper single rooms than doubles
Pets allowed and location, fully restored No parking
No hangers in closet No place to unpack suitcase Outrageously priced breakfast
Fab location. Spacious comfortable rooms and great value for money. We stayed here with our two kids for one night before getting ferry back to Portsmouth. Highly recommended.
We chose this hotel because it had excellent reviews, was near the old town to the east, the Guggenheim Museum to the west, and the river on three sides, and we were not disappointed. It is modern, clean, with excellent helpful staff and is ideally situated. As we arrived late evening (from the Santander ferry), the hotel car park was full (we were warned this might be the case); however the receptionist directed us to the public car park which is almost opposite and we left our car there for the stay which was not a problem - plenty of space and good security. Bilbao is a lovely town, especially the old quarter and the gardens. While tapas is available all day, the restaurants only open for dinner at 9pm, which is too late for us. Fortunately we stumbled across the bar/restaurant Berton at 11 Calle Jardines in the old town which serves meals throughout the day and evening; we had an excellent meal there. The Guggenheim is an interesting building with unique architecture. We visited all the galleries but must confess to not getting much out of it. 16 slightly different obscure paintings of Lenin and Stalin hanging upside down in dresses is not for me, however the pretentious commentary from the audio unit does provide some amusement. Two disappointments with the hotel – the aircon didn’t cool (the maid opened the window for us on the second day), and the breakfast was nothing special but expensive (€15) and there was no normal tea for some reason on both mornings.
very central the views
Great location A little pricey for the stay
Location. Internet access. The wireless device from the floor my room was located always was unaccessible, I had to connect the device from another floor, giving me worse connection.
good parking facilities and a good rate, excellent location paper thin walls, could hear too much from next room.
Good position with benefit of garage. Good buffet breakfast. Helpful and smiling staff- we would definitely return and recommend it.

location, excellent bathroom Dark room no natural light
location good but extremely noisy. Bins collected each morning at 5.30 am. little atsmophere. possibly the most uncomortable bed I have ever slept in.
I liked the location. quite room like I asked in my booking, breakfast, clean room. Bed litle bit hard and bedclothes coud be modern and better quality.
The location of the hotel is excellent for shopping in Bilbao. The hotel staff were very helpful when needed. No, everything was very good.
Hotel staff very helpful. No Bar
Front desk staff were extremely helpful and courteous. Very quiet room on the second floor. All public transportation easily accessed from hotel. A suggestion: perhaps manually controlled vent fans to give the air in the rooms a bit more circulation as it can be quite humid
Clean, generous room, excellent location near old quarter. 50m from a pleasant tram ride to the Guggenheim. Limited parking
Very friendly and helpful staff!
very helpful staff, gave us a map & booklet on Bilbao free parking a little noisy with the window open
Nice room with wifi (quite strong signal), helpful staff, perfect location - close to the casco viejo (5-10 minutes walk) and tram station going to the main attraction (Guggenheim Museum) Breakfasts could be better (for these who do not prefer cereals nor cakes there is an option of a toast with jam... no ham, no cheese)
quiet hotel of character in a small square a stones throw from the tram terminus
Location is great, next to the old town and next to tram line. Private parking for free behind the building, easy to get in and out. Helpful staff. Nice room for 3, with 2 windows, TV, big beds, very clean. Nice, new and very clean bathroom. Will stay there again. Excellent value for money comparing to other hotels in Bilbao. I'd suggest adding more light/lamps for the nighttime, it's dark in the room with the shutters closed.
Excellent service and great to have free parking in the city centre. The twins are bigger than the doubles if space is important to you.
I travelled with my teen-age son and we spent 4 nights at the Sirimiri hotel. The location of the hotel was perfect for sightseeing and walking about the old part of town. It is literally 3 min from the old town with all the bars and taverns and a very pleasant 15 - 20 min walk to pretty much everything else - the Theater, Cathedrals, the Guggenheim Museum, Termibus bus terminal. It is 1 min walk from the Atxuri train station (trains to San Sebastian) and a tram stop. At the same time, the hotel is located in a quiet side street right next to a small square with a beautiful church and a couple of beer/breakfast places. The hotel staff was very helpful in explaining to us the location of things we wanted to vist while at the same time completely non-obtrusive. They were always there when we needed them and had complete regard for our privacy. I am grateful for their kindness and human feeling!! I do not have any complaints about the hotel itself, except that there is a construction site right next to it but they operate during working hours when tourists are expected to be out and about town.
Location in the old town was great Parking was approx. 6 blocks away and cost over 17 eu per day
For taking a look at the "Casco Viejo " the location couldn´t be better. The floors really do make a lot of noise.
Accessibility to the old quarter and museums difficult access to check in with bags etc, needing to be carried a half kilometer from the parking building. The wi-fi internet was slow, no connection in room, poor connection in lobby. Use a LAN cable in room if you visit (hidden behind the desk and not advised until we checked out).
This hotel is very close some famous restaurant and bar. Our room smelled like cigarettes. It let us uncomfortable.
The staff were nice and friendly. The hotel is in a pedestrian area with lots of shops, restaurants etc on the doorstep; We only stayed for one night and it suited our purpose.
very good located in historical part of bilbao.close to everywhere.
very good located in historical part of bilbao..
situation in Casco Viejo, very welcoming staff, large modern room and decent sized bathroom breakfast costs extra and is not anything special (mostly pre-packaged croissants and biscuits) but it may be your only choice early Sunday morning
This hotel had a great location in the Casco Vieja section of BIlbao - a very picturesque part of the city. When we had a last minute change in plans, the hotel was able to accommodate us which we greatly appreciated! The price was very reasonable, too.
Bathroom Bedroom floors noisy when people check out early
location was excellent and staff very friendly and helpful the price of breakfast was different at booking.com and in the hotel, so hopefully this will be corrected to the website
The cleanliness of room and comfort. Good value for money.
quite a scary area, very unfriendly, unhelpful staff
Clean, comfortable and quiet room. Fifteen minute walk into the centre of Bilbao.
staff and price bed was broken, position in the city
Cheap Hotel located in getto. Hotel itself needs urgently renovation. Elevators are small. The room look very depressing (dark carpet, dark walls). The bathroom is small and decorated with old fashioned tiles of which some are broken. You can see the stains in the ceiling of the bathroom resulting of water coming down from the floor above. The paint of the ceiling is coming down. Some members of the staff at the reception do not speak english.
it was close to the old town and very near the railway station and bus links
the price and proximity to the old town building work underway so a lot of noise and dust. very close to potentially unsafe area for women.no english speakers
Hotel staff were very helpful and keen for us to enjoy our stay. Even though the evening receptionist could not speak English and I had little Spanish we communicated well. He warned us about the no go area nearby. Within walking distance of old town and transport to other places of interest in Bilbao. Some good restaurants in the old town. Good secure parking in garage opposite. A bit hard to find. Hotel construction and decor a bit industrial.
It was a simple place to temporary store my luggage for the night while I explored Bilbao. Bit too far away from the centre of town.
Friendly, polite and helpful staff. Clean rooms, good shower. Short walk to the old city centre, through bridge crossing the Nerviòn river. Good location/quality/price ratio. I would have like the staff to speak a little English or French, but we managed to communicate somehow, even though my partner and I don't speak Spanish.
Lovely bedroom and hotel, welcoming and helpful staff. Very good location, quiet, clean and cheap. If you take your satnav, take the name of the street in basque (andra maria kalea) too because some satnav don't find "santa maria". Breakfast not great.
A charming building, kind and helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms, gracious manager/owner, and fantastic location. Don't hesitate to book with the Iturrienea Ostatua. Even with earplugs, the breakfast noise will wake you if you are in a room that is just off the main lobby, even having said that, I would stay there again.
Lovely historic hotel in a great location in the Casco Viejo, near everything. The room was pretty, the bath was very nice, and the staff was friendly. Even tho it rained, we enjoyed the balcony. The heat didn't work, but it wasn't too cold out. Street noise made it necessary to use earplugs to sleep.
I liked the funky decor. The reception desk staff were very nice, spoke good english. Be warned, there is no lift and you must carry your luggage upstairs.
Location in old town is a plus; rooms and common areas are basic but clean; staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms at the front of building are very noisy, as the fun from the local cafes/bars spills out onto the street. There is no lift in the building, so be ready to carry your bags upstairs.
The location was great. The restaurant recommendations were helpful. The breakfast was marginal.
Quaint little B&B in the heart of the atmospheric Bilbao old town. Street noise (drunken laughter and shouting from nearby bars) is a real problem in some of the rooms.
Very pleasant and helpful owner/staff The stairs may pose a problem for some
Position is excellent for access to transport, sights and is located in a very interesting old area of town. Noise from street in front rooms
The staff were extremely helpfull. The hotel was well cared for.
