10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were warmly welcomed by Tania. The bedroom was very spacious and beautifully decorated. But what set the suite above any we have stayed in was the most immaculate bathroom it was superb. To complete our, sadly short stay, was the delicious breakfast.
Cons: Nothing

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location and only a few minutes walk from centre of Blandford. 4-5 minutes drive to Ashley Wood golf club. One of the best breakfasts I've had for a long time!
Cons: Establishment wifi was good but internet access was restricted for gaming sites.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The 'King Size Deluxe Room' and adjoining bathroom were both spacious, comfortable and well appointed - including two chairs, a good sized wardrobe, tea & coffee making facilities, good quality toiletries, etc. Both rooms appear to have been refurbished recently to a high standard, and have a good look and feel about them - eg retro bathroom radiator and bath/shower fittings, etc. The cooked breakfast was excellent - a choice of Full English Breakfast or Scrambled Eggs with Smoked Salmon, cooked to order using high quality ingredients, with beverages and other foodstuffs, as you would expect. Our host was Tania, who made us feel very welcome.
Cons: The property is situated on the Wimborne Road, which is fairly busy. Due to the hot weather, we slept with the window open, and were therefore somewhat disturbed by traffic noise. This would not, of course, bother people, who are more used to sleeping in a house near a road.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: I feel it was a really good 'find' which i will recommend to others.
Cons: Very little
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My wife and I had a ground floor twin room which was perfect for us. The breakfast was very good, freshly prepared. and served promptly. Breakfast ended with plenty of toast and coffee. The owner of St Leonard's Farmhouse was extremely helpful and assisted us in every way possible. Would definitely stay at this location again.
Cons: Nothing

Cons: I always find lighting difficult in hotels
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Awaited my arrival from the ferry, after midnight. Beautiful artistic sumptuous interiors. Friendly atmosphere with other guests and owner. Allowed to overstay check-out - no extra charge. Catered for vegetarians. Easy parking.
Cons: - finding it with my GPS, which stopped short in the village. But after a phone call, it was simple to find, very clearly delineated in the area, well-lit.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfasts
Cons: Would have preferred a shower
7.5 Good
Pros: Alternative diets are well catered for here, almond milk, gluten-free bread, gltuen-free sausages and the fruit platter is a lovely treat! Bill and Shan are lovely hosts, greeting us with coffee and cakes which was a lovely touch! The location is lovely, there is a nice church and stream at the end of the lane and there are two pubs within walking distance for food or just drinks.
Cons: We stayed in the Courtyard room which was nice to have our own space but the bed was not very comfortable, and could do with updating! There is a ridge down the middle which means you end up sleeping in two 'hammock like' gaps and it creaks everytime you turn over.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: everything especially the owner, couldn't do enough for us. friendly, helpful. just what you'd expect from a good quality B&B
10.0 Excellent

9.0 Excellent (1,426 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Crown Hotel sits on the edge of Blandford, with views of the Stour River's water meadows and the town. It has a gastro-style restaurant and a stylish, upmarket bar. There has been an inn on this site since the 1300s. The friendly, welcoming team will aim to make your stay enjoyable. Blandford Forum is nestled in Hardy's 'Blackmore Vale', 40 km from Bournemouth and 32 km from Salisbury.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location, excellent parking, brilliant staff, such a comfortable bed and great facilities in the spotlessly clean room. Amazing breakfast included. Great evening meal, particular mention of the soup mmmmmm and the whole place has a lovely relaxed ambience about it!
Cons: Prefer chips with my steak rather than fries which I personally don’t like and my colleague thought, as I did, that his fish and chips, which was really delicious by the way, suffered from being served in a round white dog bowl looking ‘thing’ A PLATE often is a better option to eat from, rather than a dog bowl, or roof tile, or wheel barrow, still at least the chips weren’t in a mini deep fat fryer or the fish on a plate on top of a piece of pretend newspaper made from a waxed paper that you can’t help but to eat part of! Hotels around the country please note: it’s the quality of the food that matters and everything else, including what it’s served on, should enhance that experience! But seriously loved this place.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff were so friendly and helpful, we were attending a local cricket festival and they put our ice blocks in their freezer each night. We stayed in a family room which had 2 rooms, so my daughter was very happy with her own room!
Cons: The bin men arrive on Monday and Friday at 5am and our room overlooked where they collected from so were woken up. The hotel did apologise in the morning.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our family room was huge and tastefully decorated. The location of the hotel is brilliant, the food was good if not outstanding and we would certainly go back.
Cons: Staying at the weekend probably means there is likely to be a party of some sorts going on in the nearby suite. There were a lot of people and it was quite loud on the Friday evening, but it did not disturb our sleep later on. Food is good and plentiful but not special in any way.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The location was very good, very close to the centre of Blandford Forum. The hotel itself was very attractive with an especially lovely courtyard and garden - perfect for early evening drinks in the sunshine.
Cons: The ensuite smelt because the extractor wasn't working and the toilet leaked so we had to have a towel to absorb the drips. At dinner the food was good but we didn't feel looked after because they had a large party of 15 arrive and we were being hurried along with little care. At breakfast the next morning the staff forgot about us! They did apologise but continued to natter amongst themselves. A beautiful hotel let down by poor service.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely beer garden. Beautiful dining rooms with excellent food and good storage for our bicycles. Great quirky individual bedrooms.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely setting & rooms were great
Cons: The wasps!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The whole room was like stepping back in time beautiful
Cons: Nothing Every thing was amazing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: very quaint hotel, had a real period feel about it, staff were great ,food was good (more pub food than restaurant, don't expect gourmet .)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: good breakfast but a bit chaotic at first as only one member of staff around
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is fantastic! We booked the deluxe family suite and it was absolutely beautiful. Huge comfortable bed and the adjoining room had 2 generous singles and a lovely bath in bathroom. Spotlessly clean. The bar and dining area was also beautifully decorated. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. The hotel is in a lovely setting in the centre of town. Good value for money. We came to visit family in Poole so this will be our first choice for accommodation in the future. I honestly cannot praise this hotel enough!
Cons: Nothing negative whatsoever

Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We arrived late and they had stoped serving food, VERY kindly the chef produced 3 great fish chips and pees, a real life saver, thanks again for going the extra mile.
Cons: The only tiny minor point was that there was no shower in my room, a great bath with shower attachment but no head room, the other lads had a great Realy powerful shower so all was good. This is only a very minor point and hopefully shows how impressed we were with pricing, staff, food, etc all was great and we would defiantly use again, thank you all.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and helpful stuff. Clean and comfortable rooms, perfect for families. Also we enjoyed our delicious dinner in downstairs restaurant and lovely breakfast. Definitely I will recommend for all my friends and I will be back next summer.
7.0 Good
Pros: really nice welcome, honest description of the room and clear instructions.
Cons: it was difficult finding someone to take my breakfast order and to check out
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff where excellent from the start. Make you feel very welcome take time to speak when ever they see you. And the food is something else you will not be disappointed and the chef will also come out to make sure you are OK.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely full English breakfast included in room rate. Rooms were nicely furnished and comfortable providing good value for money. We ate in the restaurant which provided a pleasant setting for a reasonably priced and excellent meal, supported by good waitress/waiter service. The large beer garden to the rear of the property has numerous self contained/secluded seating areas providing privacy for groups in a very pleasant setting. Particularly enjoyable for a drink in the sun as we were lucky enough to get during our visit!
Cons: Not sure if an oversight, but there did not appear to be a detail pack in the room advising on the property facilities and timings, this would have been useful to avoid numerous questions to staff.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful beer garden - perfect for relaxing in. Good quality, piping hot food - tastefully decorated dining area. Room 5 is a fantastically surprising room with its own hallway and separate lounge area. Perfect full English breakfast in cosy room. 100% recommend for a relaxing break - wish we could have stayed another night,
Cons: Absolutely nothing.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff were all pleasant and happy to assist us with our needs. The local people who attended the pub also made us feel welcome. The location was always great for us as we hand many local places to visit. The garden was well maintained and was a lovely place to sit and have afternoon or evening drinks. We found the breakfast to excellent with no problems plenty of choice. The property was clean and tidy and well maintain. The entrance to the rooms is separate from the pub which allowed you to come and go freely without going through the pub its self.
Cons: The only issue we had was the temperature of room, it was very warm. There was a fan supplied in the bedroom which helped to bring the temperature down a little.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast. Comfy beds. Lovely quiet location. Have already booked for next year.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Because of traffic we arrived a 9 pm and although the kitchen was closed, a delicious salad was made for us. The owners were very helpful and welcoming. The room was lovely - everything we needed was there, and in the morning an iron and ironing board was provided for us. We had a lovely breakfast (with field mushrooms) and the owner let me pick some foliage in the garden to make a posy for a Memorial Service - really a great place to stay.
Cons: Nothing

9.0 Excellent (178 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Blandford Forum, The Langton Arms is within a 15-minute drive of Ashley Wood Golf Club and Larmer Tree Gardens. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location and beautifully set out in village location. Perfect staging post for our ferry from Poole next morning. Loads of parking. Nice outdoor seating areas. Great pub.
Cons: Only a minor point but there could be more craft beers......not much of a selection to choose from. However ones on keg were decent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable and clean room. Great food. Wonderful village location. Friendly, polite and helpful staff. Plenty of parking.
Cons: We were disappointed that a guest was allowed to bring three ill-behaved and noisy dogs into the breakfast room, which was upsetting for other residents. In my view, dogs should be banned from areas where food is being served.
6.5 Good
Pros: The location of the pub in a very pretty village, and very convenient for Gussage All Saints, the wedding venue, was great. The breakfast was the poorest part of the experience. They are geared to "full English" breakfasts, which we never eat, preferring cereals and toast. More below.
Cons: The breakfasts were advertised on the website and in the room as including Dorset Cereals, a high end brand and to be welcomed for their quality. However, none were available, only Alpen, which is full of sugars. When we queried why not available when they are advertised, we were told in a rather offhand manner over the bar that "sometimes they are not available". Similarly, we were told that the chef had forgotten to order orange juice. This may seem a minor point, but when you are paying £120 for B&B, details like this make a big difference to the quality of the experience!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: They would no go the extra mile but they went the extra 10miles they bent over backward to help us well done To all the staff , This place is so good and tkank God we found it A very big thanks
Cons: Nothing
6.8 Good
Pros: ok, bacon was superb
Cons: mushroom and sausage undercooked
10.0 Excellent
Pros: As a whole the room was very clean and comfortable. This is an ideal get away location The staff are very good and the service was excellent. The only negative was that we wasn't allowed in our room on arrival as there was a wedding taking place ,I think a drink on the house would have been a good way of an apology after a long drive, instead was just told to wait .
Cons: I thought that the food was over priced for what it was .The management need to take a look at the menu and quality.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location. Very clean.
Cons: Had to wait a long time for our order for breakfast to be taken even though the waitress knew we were waiting

Pros: Lovely old building in lovely old village. Food was good and good selection of drinks available. Nice friendly locals
Cons: Late lock in and room was above bar. Could hear all the talking plus another guest kicking of cause to drunk
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location was very good for our walking on parts of the Wessex Ridgeway trail. It was also very handy for the excellent village shop and café.
Cons: The room. It was dark and gloomy with furniture that should have been replaced years ago; the desk / dressing table and chair were so low as to be almost unusable. The room was supposed to be serviced daily but the bed wasn't made, cups were uncleaned one day and the waste bin left full another day. Breakfast. Served in one end of the pool room and having to share tables. No vegetarian full breakfast on offer, No fruit, no yoghurt, no croissant - just orange juice, cornflakes or Weetabix - very 1980s.
5.5 Okay
Pros: location was great for what we needed and within easy reach of Kingston Lacey. Lovely meal cooked for us Friday evening when we arrived. Good breakfast Saturday Morning.
Cons: Breakfast Sunday morning. very little variety of cereal and when we asked if they had any more just said no , we had to ask for juice to be provided, Bed not being made on Saturday morning and fresh water not filled for us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good pub accommodation. Plenty of free on site parking - very friendly staff....and friendly dog!! Excellent spacious room - which was better than expected!! 10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast, wonderfully friendly and helpful staff, lovely clean rooms, very accommodating for dogs, and a smart clean bathroom with an excellent shower.

Pros: The food was excellent and the staff were really nice.
Cons: The room was tired and had wallpaper coming away from the wall from a previous leak.
5.0 Okay
Pros: We liked the staff and the fact our dog was like part of the family. The atmosphere in general was very friendly & relaxed. Food was quite good & the young lady who served us was very sweet. The towels were nice and soft & the beds pretty comfy ! We enjoyed playing pool after dinner. So, socially it was nice.
Cons: The room we booked was changed (through a mstake of the Inn) to a small room. We had to share the bathroom with at least 5 (so 7 people in total inc me and my husband !) more people and we could not use the bathroom when needed, which we found very annoying !! We don't mind sharing but not with so many people.. The Inn is located right by a very busy road and the noise was awful for most of the night.

Pros: Very accommodating staff, very helpful and a good manner.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: On arrival we enjoyed a carvery which was very nice. Staff were friendly and our daughter enjoyed the play area. Cons: Road was a bit noisy through the evening and 1st thing in the morning but we live in a rural area and it's just one of those things!
