+ Friendly and very helpful staff, nicely designed, spacious room, and drinking water available in communal areas!
- Sofabed in the lounge area wasn't that comfortable - perhaps add a mattress topper - Location was a little far away from the subway to walk with small children (hotel's free car shuttle only available in the mornings)
We like everything about the Hotel, the staff very friendly, nice and helpful. The room was beautiful, clean, comfortable. We loved it!!!!! I would also comment that it I had mention that it was our anniversary and the girls Anabel and Leah decorated with flowers and balloons and a sign that said Happy Anniversary. Very nice touch from them we were pleasantly surprise!!!!
The only thing we can mention is that since we like our room very cold the a/c was like a heater maybe because it was a little cold outside. But we just open the windows and it was fine
In town for marathon weekend and wanted to stay in the neighborhood where my mom grew up. The Henry Norman is such a cool Greenpoint spot. Walkable, cool touches inside, friendly — and love the full kitchen.
No parking — so, keep that in mind. Not an issue for me since I flew. But, can be tricky on a non-holiday weekend.
The staff was terrific, very pleasant and very helpful. The premises are lovely and very clean. I like the fact that the hotel blends into the community, rather unassuming on the outside but quite nice on the inside.
My room was a little chilly. I turned up the heat a bit but there was not much change. That said, I tend to be a little over-sensitive to cold, so this may not be a problem dor most guests.
The rooms are beautifully decorated, spotless and with really comfy beds. The staff were excellent especially the drivers of the courtesy car that would drop you off or collect you anywhere within a mile radius of the hotel (this got us to all the main subways stations and various restaurants and bars in Williamsburg and just beyond). The hotel is in a nice, safe and quiet neighbourhood and there is a zero noise policy so its great if you're looking for a good nights sleep.
If I were being picky, I would say for the price I would have expected a few more add-ons in the room, like a bath robe, shower cap and slippers and somewhere to store your valuables (although you can leave items in the main reception safe if required). A small bar would also have been nice to get a drink before going out, but with so many great bars and restaurants in the area it wasn't a problem. I guess the absence of a bar also helped keep the hotel quiet at night, so not really a negative.
