Top tips for renting a car from Budget in Florence

  • When you choose to book Budget hire cars in Florence your pick-up location is at the Florence Airport, Peretola (FLR). The car rental counter is located right next to the concourse and the cars are right outside the main terminal, for ease and convenience. It is always best to pre-book your chosen car through KAYAK as although there is a wide variety of cars, the airport is the only car rental in Florence and so pre-book to ensure you get the car of your choice.
  • Depending on what sort of trip you will be doing in and around Florence, you can choose from a wide fleet of Budget cars available to you. When you book Budget hire cars in Florence consider your travel plans. As navigating around the city centre is not worth it, you should rather plan a day trip to one of the nearby cities like Pisa, Siena or San Gimignano. Rent an SUV with more luggage space for these trips or a family van if you are travelling with friends or family. Holidays shared are the best sort of holidays.
  • Keep in mind when you book Budget hire cars in Florence that driving within the UNESCO certified city centre is prohibited from 7:30 am to 8:00 pm on weekdays and 7:30 am to 4:00 pm on weekends unless you have a ZTL permit. On Sundays, you can drive into the city centre but it is best to find a parking lot and navigate the city by foot. Driving further out of Florence will be perfect for exploring in your hire car but leave city exploring for foot. The city centre is small enough to get around easily.
  • When deciding to book Budget hire cars in Florence keep in mind that the inner city of Florence is not meant for cars and if you want to explore, rather find a parking lot for the day's visit. There are different options available to you from parking lots to private garages and street parking outside of the city centre. There is a paid parking lot under the train station at Santa Maria Novella and you can also park your car by the Fortezza da Basso or the Porta al Prato. If you want to park your car for longer stays check with your hotel as you can find long stay parking for cheaper deals at different times.
