Solid, Polite, Fast Service
Pros: The office was pretty much deserted when I picked up and dropped off, so I had their full attention. That said, very polite and pleasant, a near-new minivan that was very comfortable for four adults plus gear. I would definitely recommend.

Pros: Fast service, easy pick up from airport.
Cons: Not very good signs for dropping car off back at airport. Need better signs for airport rental car return. Didn't see any at all.

Cons: slow check in, beyond island slow. tried to pawn a 10 year old ford bronco on me instead of an SUV Tuscon or other as promised. Had to go back to swap car when another rental was returned. Haven't had a great experience in CI with a car rental place yet. Third time hopefully will be the charm, will skip budget though.

Cayman car rental
Pros: Car worked fine and the return was very quick indeed. No real hard sell for insurance at pickup which is very expensive on Grand Cayman. Got Insurance ahead of time through credit card and outside option..
Cons: Car mildly dirty upon pickup (very stained seats) and office very slow on the pickup in filling out forms and getting the process complete for us and others so we could get on to vacation.

Budget Car Rental Grand Cayman
Pros: Kayak found a good price at Budget for the car rental.
Cons: Slow service from employees who were not interested in customer service. Pressure to sell add-ons. Kia Sorrento mid-size had 40K miles.

Very poor customer service
Pros: The vehicle was adequate for our needs, albeit a bit worn on the inside and scratched on the outside.
Cons: Service was quite poor, which is typical with my experience with both Budget and car rentals on islands. Rather than a warm welcome, the agent at the counter was abrasive and rude. He certainly made us feel like he would rather be anywhere else, and he seemed to take pleasure in being particularly difficult. A pity. He could have served as an ambassador for the brand and the island, and he could have made us feel welcome and excited to start our visit. Instead, he was the only blemish in our otherwise beautiful vacation.

Dirty, beat up rental

Pros: The price was good. The response was quick when our battery needed a jump.
Cons: Interior of the car showed significant wear. Front bumper skirt had been damaged prior to us receiving the car. There was a stuffy odor when we received the car.

Pros: There was not much to like. I got a very dinged up and dirty Ford Focus with sunscreen all over the interior. More below...
Cons: Very dirty. Had dings and scrapes all over the body. It seemed like an old model. I reserved and paid for a premium vehicle and was given an older model Ford Fusion. It had sunscreen smeared all over the interior and looked like it hadn't been vacuumed or cleaned out in some time. The tires were also very bald and caused the wheels to spin freely when the road was wet, which is just plain dangerous. I would have requested an alternative at check out, but the office we were in was overwhelmed with customers. I felt bad for the employees that were there. After all this I'm not certain I'll use Budget again. There are plenty of alternatives.

Cons: Car was outdated, no updates. Picking up was slow. Dropping off was very, very slow. Lots of marks and dents in car.

More costly than expected
Pros: Brand new, clean vehicle. Friendly service.
Cons: Long wait to pickup the car (45-50 min). Cost 40% higher than the original online quote with fees and taxes. I took the original Allianz insurance and was Informed that this insurance would only reimburse me after the fact for any damage costs, rather than cover any costs up front.

Worst experience ever.
Cons: While waiting online, three other customers came in with tickets from Grand Cayman Police for having unregistered vehicles. When I finely get to the counter the receptionist asks for my name and proceeds to advise me that my car was rented to someone else and that they will not be able to rent me a car. Meanwhile they had a parking lot full of cars. I was forced to walk into another rental agency a pay more money for not having reservation. I have never experienced anything like this...The other rental agency said it is common practice at Budget Grand Caymane. They rent you a car for a low price. If someone comes in and rents for more they will just give car away for more money and not honor reservation. Kayak should not reserve for Budget because they do not honor your reservations.

Fair price for a necessary part of vacation
Pros: If you plan to explore Grand Cayman (especially the east end) which I highly recommend doing, you need a rental car.....Budget rented us a new premium SUV for 100 bucks a day with room for 6 and all our bags. Easy in and easy out...walking distance from airport....all were professional and car was well maintained. YOU CAN AND SHOULD PURCHASE INSURANCE WHEN YOU BOOK THE RESERVATION....we were able to get it for 11 dollars a day

Great Value if you do not get Insurance
Pros: Perfect size car for the Island.
Cons: The windshield wipers were not cleaning the windshield. Perhaps because of the sand and salt that are constantly blowing. I did let them know new wipers were needed!

Great Ford Expedition in the Caymans
Pros: Car is in wonderful condition. Cost of exactly what was quoted.
Cons: Checkout and Checkin in Caymans is slow. Extra charge of $20 for a Cayman driving permit. Stupid of the Caymans to do but not Budget's fault.

Pros: We noticed after a few days into our weekly rental on our car that the metal belt in the front tire was showing, thankfully were really only used the car to travel between our motel and our friends place on the beach so no long trips. We notified Budget and they were at our location about 30 minutes away with a replacement car very quickly without any issues at all. So although we didn't think the car should have been rented in the first place the resolved the issue quickly! Drop off was quick and painless!

Overall a good deal
Pros: The cars were all either brand new or almost new. Plus, the small car was so fuel efficient we barely used 4 gallons the entire week. That helped with the cost of gas in the Cayman Islands.
Cons: The only issue we had was the size of the driver's seat for my husband. He isn't a giant, but at 6'2" he was snug with the seat all the way back. Also, the added coverage cost much more than the rental fees. Our reservation went from about $70 to $268. Yes, we had the option of declining, but driving on the opposite side of the road, we wanted the coverage. We just wish we could see the amount with and without coverage before booking.

Long wait times
Pros: Great price.
Cons: Car was 2nd from cayman budget with no registration. Police said we had to go in front of judge. Meaning we had to fly back or face prosecution . A mess. Year later car no registration .

Cons: SUV would not go into gear well. One day after renting, the car would no longer start. Budget was called 3 times before the car was retrieved from location.

Wouldn't Book there again
Pros: It was cheap - CI$140 for a car for a week
Cons: The service at check-in was a disaster; - they wouldn't take my debit card as payment (although there was no warning this would be an issue when I reserved the car online) - they tried to double charge me for insurance. When I explained that I had already purchased insurance on Kayak when I reserved the car, they told me 3 times that it "wasn't Budget's insurance", and if I got in an accident I would have to pay myself, and then follow up with insurance company (again, none of this was explained during the online booking process). - the car was dirty inside and out, and had a damaged door panel from a minor accident - the car had things that didn't work - the USB charger was dead, as was the keyless entry remote.

Great car at a low price
Pros: The subcompact car I booked was unavailable so I was given an upgrade at the same price. Although it was larger than I would have preferred it had lots of premium features which were nice to have.
Cons: The rental office was very busy when I arrived which resulted in a very long wait.

Pros: nothing to like!
Cons: car was not available. Took me to a local rental company to fulfill their obligation, but the car class I had booked was not available, so in addition to getting a crappy car, we barely had enough room to fit our luggage. No apologies, or partial refunds were given. Instead, they made it seem like a positive that the local company was able to honor the same rate.... Of course they should honor it, I'm getting a worse car than what I booked! Avoid at all costs...

Promised a Ford but got another w/ a broken door
Pros: The replacement was an upgrade to the low grade rhetoric gave me
Cons: Took tooo long to process .... didn't like the bait & switch on the lower grade veh i orig got. The " kid" at the desk didn't care that my reserve said Ford Explorer ....just " this is what I got " ( take it or leave it ) I was w/ friends, kinda embarrassing. Took it. Door was broke. Took it back. They gave us a sweet Kia .

Pros: Budget personnel were quick, friendly and knowledgeable - great customer service!
Cons: Car headrests were at an uncomfortable angle, with no apparent way to adjust the angle. Not the rental agency's fault - just the design of the car.

Beware of additional charges
Cons: Overcharged at checkout for additional coverage that I specifically said I did not want at initial check-in. The agent at checkout was completely unhelpful resolving the issue.

Poor service & car in disrepair
Pros: Car was comfy & roomy
Cons: Disrespectful service at check in. Overcharged at check out. Car had extreme warnings go off twice. Left blinker went out. The First car they gave us the seat was broken. Settled for a car with dents and dirty. Took 2 hours to get on our way. Only 1 couple ahead of us in line, still took 2 hours.

Avoid Budget at GCM
Pros: Initial price seemed very good versus other competitors
Cons: Frequest traveller to GCM and decided to give Bugdet a try as we use them stateside for business rentals. Flight was late due to re-routing around storms in the air so we had no ability to notify of late arrival. When I arrived the customer service rep actually laughed at me when I mentioned I had a reservation for a car. They had no cars available and were extremely unhelpful in finding any other solutions as they said we were "no-shows" and therefore they were not obligated to fulfill my request. They did offer to drive me (not my family) to the hotel and work on it the next day but I decided against any further help from this already poor staff. Finally rented from Hertz next door at 3-times the cost but the service and experience were light years better and I have learned this lesson again the hard way. You definitely get what you pay for at GCM

Budget is terrible as far as customer service
Pros: The 2nd car we received was fine.
Cons: We arrived in Grand Cayman at 9:45 pm on 7/9/2016. The delay was due to maintenance issues with the plane from Cayman Airways. This information was available to anyone with internet access. When we arrived, they did not have the full size car that I had reserved. They had already given it to someone else with the excuse that they didn't think we would make it that day. All they had left was a sub-compact car. Also, they advised us at that time that they would not be open when we came to return the car. Also, we had to put a $500.00 deposit / hold on a credit card, which A) I was NOT told about at time of booking and B) Ive been to Cayman 8 times now and this is the 1st time I've ever had to do that. There were 3 of us total, so we had 6 pieces of luggage and 3 carry ons with a sub compact car. All luggage in back and 3 people in front. Completely RIDICULOUS!!! So to sum it up, there were 3 problems with the rental 1) WRONG CAR AT PICKUP 2) Rental car agency not open at time of pickup. Why would you allow someone to rent a car from a place that wouldn't be open at drop-off time? I specified my drop-off time when I booked 3) Kayak should state UP FRONT that there is a $500.00 CC hold at pickup. This was not done
