The rental car company gave our car away and we ended up with a Camry that was so out of alignment that it should not have been in the parking lot and we had to return it the same day. The second car we we’re given was a smoker’s car and none of us smoke. The third car was nice, but not clean. The attendant feigned little interest in any this disruption to our trip. She knew the first car was not what we rented (a luxury car) and said we could come back to the airport and trade cars (out of our way) and provided two numbers for us to call about doing so. The first was disconnected and the second was never answered. She said she couldn’t smell smoke since she smoked. All you had to do was open a window and you could tell. It was that bad. Like a chimney. On the way back to the airport, someone backed into the car as we were gassing it up to drop off before our flight. It’s been the worst nightmare trying to straighten this out with Budget. There’s no way to contact a person on their menu and ask questions or exchange insurance data. The man who hit us said it was his fault and by the grace of God we made our flight. And a final present was when I looked at my bank statement and realized I was overcharged $150 for the car and don’t have a receipt since the office was closed. I will never rent like this again. i was told nothing or informed about anything just to have the gas tank full......nothing like see u have unlimited mileage the gas tank is full we would appreciate it being returned that way or you will b charged.....things like that not sign here here and here there will b a cleaning charge if dirty...very snobbish wont use that location again hope it was just them and not budget rentalReviewed May 5 2022

Need to make sure that before conformation of a rental. That a deposit is part of the quote. I feel that misrepresent price to individuals that do not rent every day. Poor customer service all around!!!Reviewed Feb 21 2022

Pickup attendant was not at booth until 12 minutes after scheduled pickup time. Possibly a staffing issue, attendant was doing cleaning that was supposed to have been completed the night before by others.Reviewed Feb 13 2022

Agent when I picked up vehicle at Muskegon County Airport was brief and hardly spoke to me. She handed me the keys and said it’s somewhere out in the parking lot, just hit the key fob to see when the lights go on. It’s out there somewhere. Vehicle was nice but smelled like someone had been smoking a pack a day in the vehicle. Brakes were starting to grind. I felt a little unsure on the return to Grand Rapids airport. Drop was great however. Agent was extremely professional and helpful. He was very helpful!Reviewed Jul 27 2021

Cons:We rented our car, and once I got up to speed the car started to rumble, like it was terribly out of balance. I had a reservation in Chicago and was already a half an hour away from our pickup location. At that point we decided to try to find a possible replacement but all locations in the area were closed. We tried to call our pickup location to report our issue to make sure they knew about it and no one answered. The rear view mirror also wiggled a lot while driving, we had to stick a napkin in it to hold it still. The outside of the car was filthy and there were coffee cups left in the back seat from the renter before us. A very unpleasant experience. Glad it’s over. The receptionist was understanding when we brought it back, very thankful for that.Reviewed May 4 2021

Pros:The "Staff" - one person - was friendly the first time through the line. Under a lot of pressure. other employee quit without notice. Long lines all day. Was not able to process my debit card. I called my bank. Made certain everything was in order. Waited through the long line again. She was still not able to process the debit card. I think because she had low level equipment - no chip capability - Then she got "snarky". I was not able to rent the car that had been reserved for me. I felt stranded in a strange town. I had to impose on my elderly cousin to drive me 125 miles to catch another ride.Cons:Provide more up to date processing equipment. I was not the only person having serious issues that day because of antiquated communications equipment.Reviewed Jul 8 2020
