I'm writing to formally complain about a confirmed reservation that was not honored, and to request a full refund plus compensation for the losses it caused. I arrived at the pickup counter on time, and your staff told me **no cars were available**. A confirmed reservation is a commitment. Turning a customer away at the counter with no vehicle and no alternative is a failure of your core obligation. This wasn't a casual rental — it was one leg of a planned itinerary where **the other leg was a flight**. With no car, my entire plan had to be scrapped and rebuilt on the spot. The fallout cost me approximately **$400** in extra expenses. I am requesting: 1. A full refund of all charges on this reservation 2. Compensation for the $400 in direct costs your failure caused I expect a written response within 7 business days. If this isn't resolved satisfactorily, I'll be filing complaints with the BBB and my state attorney general's consumer protection division. Regards, Dinesh K
I pre-booked the vehicle but, when I arrived to pick up at 10:30 a. m.< my name was not on the list and I had to take a number. I was #69 - at 1050 a.m. they called #53 - I then spoke to a younger attendant that was extremely helpful - she then brought me to an "internal" kiosk and, after she was berated my senior staff for having brought me there, she told them that I was supposed to have a vehicle waiting for me and she insisted that I be attended to. The internal staff gave me a vehicle - it was supposed to be a compact SUV - but I got a large midsize SUV & was told that nothing else was available - the rest was OK at pickup, including the vehicle once I got used to it. The return was good - fast & efficient - the only complaint is that the attendant said that everything was OK with the vehicle and that he had just emailed the closeout documents. I have STILL NOT reveived the documents.
I was charged $300 for an “Out-of-State” Fee
An emergency cost me to return the car early. They use the excuse to charge almost $400 in fees. Despite the fees charged being directly at odds with the words in the contract. It’s one thing to not give a refund for days unused it’s another thing to more than double the cost of the rental. Feels really crummy. I will not be doing business with budget or any affiliated company in the future.
I reserved a car seat for my 3-year old grandson. I waited for an hour while staff tried to locate a car seat, and then was informed there were none. Very poor service! How was I expected to transport a toddler? Unless reparations are made, which now means only a refund in this case, I will never rent from Budget again.
Vehicle was very dirty outside and had scratches all over.
Everything was awful.
- MISS: Radio in the car did not work - MISS: My EV rental DID NOT include a charging cable despite the counter agent claiming that it would. - WIN: The car was at 100% charge and very clean.
The car was good. It was quite dirty inside and the parking lot was too crowded so it was hard to get out and return the car.
