Cons: Hard to get to/from the pick up point as it was quite remote and not on the tram line.
Also an automatic, but I guess there's not much choice on that.
Would have been good to know how much the young driver fee was before as well.

Cons: Sales rep was mocking at my insurance as I refused to buy insurance. Return agent was also very unfriendly.

Please Call Me!
Cons: I returned the car after 2 weeks, but was charged 1 full month on the multi-month program. They rented the car i returned to the lady directly behind me in line. Illegally doubling their profits. I've called 4 times and have been told "Call this dept. Call this store. No call this Dept." I feel cheated and Hertz couldn't care less!

Pros: Quick processing of pick up and drop off. Selection of cars is good. Car was clean.
Cons: Branch manager never in office and I'm still waiting for a call back regarding a charge waiver. I extended my rental over the phone and was given an updated amount. When i asked for an email confirmation they said it couldn't be provided. However when I returned the car I was charged $50 more! Employees said they couldn't do anything and the branch manager wasn't present on two different days when I followed up.

Kayak.com really messed me up on this....
Cons: I got tickets to fly to San Jose through Kayak, then a rental car at the same time... chose the best deal. Unfortunately the Hertz car rental was not at the airport, it was 10 minutes away... and nobody would help unless I "paid an extra $200". Frustrating at best.

Worst car rental experience!
Pros: Not much
Cons: 1. This Hertz office is the worst. It took me more than an hour to rent the car (they said the system was down?). When I got the car, there was just half tank of gas. The service is as cold as the winter here. Unbelievable!
2. When I rent the car from Kayak, I bought the insurance. I thought Hertz provides the insurance. I turned out that Hertz charged me extra $600 for the insurance. What a rip-off.

Pros: I rented cars at SJC many times before and this one should not be any different. I marked pick up and drop off location as SJC and clicked on the best result for what I want and need. I didn't care to prepay for it. Long day of flying. A flight that was delayed several times and then landing at 11:00 pm. Standing in line at the airport rental car center and get the news that the rental location is off the airport. Moreover, it was closed already at 6:00 pm. Called Hertz customer service to have my reservation switched to the airport and was told that they can't do that and I need to wait to 5:00 am so the off airport location opens up...
got a perfectly fine car with Dollar and this prepaid transaction is going to be desputed. Thanks but no thanks.
Cons: Bad customer service. Shady reservation and manipulation.

Credit Card had fraudulent transactions right afte
Cons: The worst car rental experience so far. My credit card had a series of fraudulent transactions right after. My credit card company had to cancel and reissue the card.
Cons: Knob shifter on car. One of 4 round knobs - poor human engineering by Chrysler
Windshield was not clean. Streaks visible when driving into sun.

Good and Not So Good
Pros: Our car wasn't ready so they offered a free upgrade, fast service, no hard sale on extras.
The only (2) problems we had was the guy helping us wasn't very knowledgeable about credit card issues and what he told us about how much gas we had wasn't what we had. When we returned the car it was the same amount as when we left but the guy said we were short on gas and charged us extra. Not to happy about that!!! Double play!!!

Refused car and went somewhere else
Cons: I made a special trip to the office ahead of my trip to verify that they could supply me with a small car. I was assured multiple times that they could & even saw a car in the parking lot to indicate the size required.
On the day of my trip, I was presented with a mid size sedan and I was almost in tears.
I refused the car, made a new reservation, got a ride to Hertz at the airport, and left with a Ford Focus, over 2 hours late for my trip.

Pros: The staff was professional an appreciated our choice of using their company. Nice selection of cars - ease of getting to the location. The return was as smooth as can be.
Cons: we upgraded our choice of cars but was not told the price of the upgrade.
Pros: Not as crowded as rental car services at San Jose Airport.
Cons: Not much selection to choose from.

Pros: Called me a day before my travel that they do not have cars and are not able to provide me car. I had booked 2 months ago to avoid such thing. At least they called me so leaving with 1 star.

Pros: Good value for the price we paid. The other car companies were 2x the price.
Cons: No overnight dropoff at this location.
Was not told the insurance i bought was not though Avis directly. It was through a 3rd party.

Rude staff and charges one way fee
Pros: Did not like anything
Cons: The associate was rude and acted like it was my fault that I was being charges one way fee. Despite of the fact that I made a call before I went to return the car and that I was provided a case number, he refused to acknowledge it. He LITERELLY threw the car key and the papers with all the information at me saying that he will not close up the contract until I pay the amount I was required. I was promised a refund in 2 days. That was on 12th of May, no refund, blocked international bank account, daily overdraft fees and terrible customer service since then. Rented the car with Avis now, and never again. If I don't see my refund soon, lawsuit is the last option.
