Pros: When we arrived the car reserved had a problem. The front passenger seat was to low for my wife to easily see out the windshield. The seat could be adjusted forward and back but not up or down. We inquired about getting a more suitable car and one was provided immediately. The new (different) model worked out perfectly. We got almost 40 mpg with the 2016 Nissan Versa provided. We liked the car and how quickly our need was met by your staff.

Pros: The car had a flat tire. I had to spend a day getting it towed back to the airport. The tread on the tire was thin.

Cons: Offsite, getting to the drop area, confusion of front desk, has 3 customers in the office for pick up and she is handling a phone call on where the pick up site is at the airport, employee did not recognize the customers in front of her were more important

Great value, Amazing customer service
Pros: Payless was a great value, the customer service was amazing. On our return trip we were pulling into the lot as the shuttle driver was heading out to the airport but he saw us and turned back around then helped us get all of our stuff loaded quickly and right to the airport. Over 100 trips raken, I've never had a shuttle driver do that. It meant the world to us traveling with a 1yr old!
Cons: In an attempt to freshen the car for us an employee checking the fluids also sprayed the car down with water which seems nice but it left bad water spots on the mirrors and windshield that made it hard to see. We stopped at the first gas station to clean them. Not a big deal but if we had to suggest something perhaps just quick dry the mirrors :)

Late Opening Hours!
Pros: Check in couldn't have been smoother. Probably the quickest I have ever been processed and out the door.
Cons: They don't open up until 7:00. If you have an early am flight, you're screwed! That was never disclosed to us so when we arrived shortly before 7:00 to see locked doors and dark lights we went into panic mode. Luckily, they arrived shortly after we did for transportation to the airport. Buyer beware! New operation, so maybe if they will adjust or at least disclose this during booking.

Poor service- bad vehicle
Pros: Shuttle took forever. Vehicle looked like it belonged in an impound lot. Check engine light on, engine sputtering. Told agent on return and was told it was due for service. Then over charged and since my agent was on his 1st day, he needed female partner to help, major attitude with her. GO ELSEWHERE

Ford Focus Pile of Junk
Pros: The car that PAYLESS rented to me at RSW airport was a Ford Focus. The instant I drove it our of their lot, I noticed that the low tire pressure light was on. Apparently, they did not even bother to check the car before renting it.Additionally, the transmission (with 38,000 miles on it) slipped badly.
When I telephoned them to complain, after driving 42 miles one way to my Florida home, they told me to drive back to the airport at my own expense to exchange the car. When I told them about the danger of driving a car with very low tire pressure, and the difficulty in steering, they told me to either bring the car back to the airport, or get it repaired, and they would possibly "reimburse" me.
I am simply disgusted with the lack of real s=customer service at PAYLESS>

Cons: I didn't arrive to the airport until 12 am. They closed at 10 pm. I ended up renting a vehicle from another company. I called the next day to see if I could pick the car up and they said that my reservation was canceled and we're going to charge me 2 times as much. I kept the car that I had and ended up paying $100 more than my reservation was for.
Cons: We went to Estero where they have a sales office for their cars and the rental office is in the same building. I walked in at 1:05 and was told that the rental office closed at 1 pm.
No one ever informed of this closing time. I could not pick the car up UNTIL AFTER 12:00 noon. So that means if you wait in the parking lot until NOON you may get a car.
This was a non refundable reservation paid in FULL in advance.
This is the 2nd time we rented from Hertz. The other rental was in Cancun Mexico. Which I won't get into details. But it was a 1,400.00
rental that was over charged double.
Did I mention at this same office in Estero we had bought 2 of their cars.
I WILL NOT RENT OR BUY ANOTHER CAR FROM HERTZ EVEN IF IT IS FREE !!!!!
Cons: the car did not have a full tank of gas when I picked it up ....the customer service person said he would make an adjustment , but the power was out because of hurricane Irma. I also told the drop off person who said they would make an adjustment once the Internet service was restored. I hope they are correct.
