The salesman had some challenges with our rental because of issues with me. He was able to find solutions which took some extra work and time. I really appreciate his efforts. I will make sure to go back for rental in the future, and I highly recommend them as well.

Friendliness of the staff,….very courteous and provided a good selection of cars to choose from. The facility was well kept and easy to locate. Would rent there again in the future

Everyone I spoke to, either in person or on the phone, was incredibly friendly and helpful. Pick up and drop off were easy and very safe.I should have checked to see if you offer pick up for folks renting. I am still unsure. That would be the only thing that would have made my experience better.

When I booked the car over the phone, the sales agent told me I’d get a discount if I showed them my State Farm card when we picked up the vehicle. However, that discount was not honored.

Usually rent with enterprise because they pick you up/drop you off but were closed because it was labor day. Would rent at Avis more often if they offered this service

Great car. helpful counter agent. easy return.car was covered in ice and snow when I went out to get it. nobody around, so I spent ten mins de-icing with a scraper.

Great car, ran well, no issues. The seats were inundated with a previous occupant’s body odor, so much so that I had to change shirts twice during the trip. It was faintly masked by some kind of air freshener when I first picked up the car, but moments later, and for the remainder of drive, it was disgusting. Further, and more troubling, is that someone was aware of it, tried to (fe)breeze it away, making it my problem.

The car was suppose to be at seattle airport. After flying over 5 hours they said the reservations were changed to Everett they told me it was over an hour away. Budget said they had a car at the airport but it was a lot more almost $200 more. I got the car and left. I brought the car back early on Friday morning and requested a refund for Friday and Saturday they said we don’t give refunds I told them you need to tell the employees that. The worst rental ever

When I made a reservation for a car rental at SeaTac, I expected to pick up a car there. But when I spoke with the man at the agency counter, he informed me my car was at Everett. Whaaattt?? I still don't understand what happened, maybe someone can explain it to me. Fortunately, he was able to locate a car for us through Avis, but I paid several hundred dollars more for it. I don't think I will rent through Kayak again.

I live in North Carolina. My wife and I landed in Seattle and wanted to drive the rental car to Bellingham, WA. I used Expedia search engine and clicked on SEA-TAC airport. I found a very reasonable rate and secured the car. Living in NC I was unaware that Everette, WA is 1 and 1/2 hours away from Seattle. I thought it must be a short shuttle ride from the airport. Why would anyone be interested in picking up a rental car hours away from an airport? This makes no sense to me and it caused a huge problem for us. I would have written your company off as unprofessional and inefficient if it wasn't for the gracious staff at SEA-TAC. They went the extra mile to find us a car at a reasonable rate even when the demand was high for cars that day. The staff at SEA-TAC has given me the distinct impression that I should use your company whenever possible.

The agent at pick up was the most efficient ever worked with. He checked in 3-4 customers in less than 10 minutes. Usually the paper work and upsells are cumbersome when you just want to get on the road.Did not get a receipt which was supposed to be emailed.

Somehow, we rented the car from Everett (not SEATAC). We're not sure how that happened, but we landed after 12 noon, and the Hertz office in Everett closed at 12 noon on Saturday. Even if we'd been prepared to travel to Everett to pick it up, we would have been late and unable to get it until Monday. As it was we were stuck at the airport and had to rent another car from Dollar. No one at Hertz, Priceline or Kayak was in the least bit helpful. I was traveling for the first time in a wheelchair and the experience was much more stressful than it needed to be, had it been made clear that the office wouldn't be open when we arrived. I will never use Hertz, Priceline or Kayak again.
7.9 GoodJul 22 2021
Thought that I had arranged for drop-off at a different location (ie Tukwila), so unpleasant surprise when got to rental office and was told that I needed to bring car back to Everett. Desk staff pleasant, speedy rental process. Car was relatively clean, performed well. Cost of rental of a mid-size car (?Toyota Corolla, really?) for 3 days was OUTRAGEOUS. But I felt fortunate to secure a rental of any kind with the current conditions.

I did not get the rental car and am still being charged for it - $500. I was not aware that the Everett location closed at noon on Saturday, and there was major traffic from the airport. I was on hold for 20 minutes with Hertz, and unable to get through to them. I tried several more times, and just stayed on hold. Incredibly poor customer service, communication and a very expensive cost to me.
5.6 OkayJul 19 2020
Gave me a bigger car than I reserved. I was happy with the extra space.I was late to my pickup and they called me telling me that my suv was ‘first come first serve basis’ that there was someone in the lobby needing an suv. So if you didn’t have enough cars available then why allow us to rent that specific vehicle size? It’s called a reservation for a reason. I paid for that size to be reserved for me.
9.2 ExcellentJul 26 2019
Staff was friendly but pickup was very slow because car was not already clean and ready.Slow pickup.

Absolutely nothing. Staff (the ONE guy that was there, named Dan, at the downtown Everett location, was verbally abusive to me, then told me to leave and refused to rent me a vehicle. That was on June 20. On June 24, despite being REFUSED SERVICE, Hertz took $375.33 out of my account anyway. Weird.Evidently Dan is not only abusive, but a liar, and reported that he gave me a vehicle, even though he did not. I’ve tried twice to call, but no humans are available at customer service. I will never rent from Hertz, or purchase a rental from ANY third party again.
4.4 OkayJun 20 2019
I reserved a compact car and was given a full sized king cab pickup truck. Hertz said I could exchange it the next day (a total inconvenience) for a compact car. When I returned all they had was a Toyota 4Runner SUV that wasn’t very clean and had an empty fuel tank. Avery frustrating experience.
7.6 GoodMay 13 2019
Staff were appropriately friendly and professional. The location downtown is not very convenient to the airport. It is about 20-25 minutes away. The Hertz people do not have a shuttle (yet) so they called us a LYFT and paid for it. The airport has only been open as a public airport for ~1.5 months, so the rental car systems are not quite in place.
2.0 MediocreApr 15 2019
This was literally the worst experience of my life. Starting with the staff not being friendly at all and providing 0 customer services. The plastic under the tire near the passenger seat completely came off less than half away to our destination. We spent a total of 2 hours of waiting for tow truck.Better customer services, and reliable vehicles . In additional to all of our troubles, it looks like we're charged for towing . Unbelievable.
4.4 OkayApr 8 2019
Price was competitive. If you fly into Everett Airport (Paine Field), they do not have a shuttle service to pick you up at the airport. While they did offer to have a Lift driver take me to the Hertz office in Everett, it is about a 15-minute drive away. If you are returning before they are open, good luck!

Nothing!Everett office was closed after the booking was made and National refused to honor the reservation at nearby rental locations. National never notified me of the closure and I only found out when I tried to call the office. A new booking with a different agency had to be made on short notice at thrice the cost. Extremely bad customer service!

Top tips for renting a car in Everett

  • Tucked along Puget Sound, just north of Seattle, the city of Everett presents many opportunities for outdoor exploration, including the wetland preservation area, Horwath Park, and Spencer Island Park, not to mention the lake regions east of the city. Rather than rely on bus infrastructure to get around, having a car rental in Everett gives you the autonomy to travel at your leisure and reach off-the-beaten-path locations. With a car, you can also bring picnics, equipment or spare rain jackets in preparation for whatever weather the Pacific Northwest throws at you. Also, since Everett is just a little more than half an hour north of Seattle, a personal vehicle gives you the opportunity to take a day trip to the city. You’ll have no need to worry about catching a train or a bus back to Everett—you can leave as late as you want.
  • Most people will pick up their Everett car rental when they arrive at Paine Field Airport (PAE) or at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA). If you’ve booked a vehicle for pick-up at PAE, you’ll find desks for car rental companies—including Hertz, Enterprise, Avis, and Budget—located in the Ground Transportation Building just to the right of the Passenger Terminal as you’re exiting the building toward the parking lots. At SEA, there are also several rental car companies. To find them, head to the lower level of the terminal toward the baggage claim. Just outside the building, at both the north and south end, there are passenger pick-up locations for free shuttle buses that will transport you to the stand-alone rental car facility.
  • Everett has an active downtown area with a robust network of passenger buses providing public transportation. These buses take wide turns and make several stops. While driving downtown, you’ll want to pay special attention to buses signaling turns, lane changes, or indicating that they are about to stop to let passengers disembark.
  • If you have flexibility with your daily schedule, you’ll want to try to plan around the rush hours in Everett. Commutes peak in the city between about 5:30am and 8am each morning. In the afternoon and into the evening, you’ll find the roads congested again, specifically between about 2pm and 6pm.
