There was nothing to ‘like’ about my experience with ‘Hertz. They were closed (16:30, pst), when my flight arrived at ‘SCK’, 20Sep2024. To visit my family. I had to pay your competitor an additional $150 to rent their vehicle, yet they closed at 18:00 that day.
The vehicle was just fine. Clean and what is expected. Pick-up and drop-off were easy. The pick-up agent did not fill out the envelope w/vehicle/rental information, however checked the 1/4 tank mark. Vehicle was returned with slightly over 1/4 tank. The rental agreement was then placed inside said envelope and I kept those documents. At drop-off, everything was fine until the final bill where they charged me for a full tank ($130. 30% markup). According to the customer service agent I called, the pickup agent indicated an “full tank”. Even after submitting a picture of the envelope next to the rental agreement the customer service agent was unable to remove the fuel markup. And unwilling to push it to a supervisor at that time. It would need to go to the pickup location to verify first. Not sure what they’ll verify (their agent mis-entered the fuel status). Suppose to hear back in 5-7 business days. Won’t use Hertz again.
They closed early & noone was there for my pickup.
We booked full size car and given midsize car instead. We went there twice to get changed. But they wouldn’t and won’t give SUV saying, we pay the difference. Whereas, midsize was being offered at $350 for the same period we paid almost 560+ to book full size car and still got midsize.
Car rental prices are Crazy high right now. Can't wait for them to come back down.
we had a midsize reservation but the branch didn't have it. I had a foot sugary and have to carry knee scooter and couldn't use the small car. The representative(s) at the Hertz office were so rude. they called 911 but since we didn't do anything wrong; the police officer didn't say anything to us.
