Pros: Ease of booking and rate
Cons: When I arrived to pick up the car they were closed. I would have appreciated a call to advise me they were closing.

Pros: The lady at the pick up let us get the car even though they did not open up until 9. There was a miscommunication and we were there at 8 am.
Cons: I was expecting a 4 wheel drive because I rented a Jeep or similar. I had a Tahoe trip planned and there was bad weather driving back.

I will never book through Kayak again
Cons: Kayak allowed me to book a pick up time of 12 pm on a Saturday. Hertz closes at 12 on Saturday. I called Hertz at 15 minutes before 12 and told them I would be 1 or 2 minutes late. They told me they close promptly at 12. I walked in at 2 minutes after 12 and they refused to give me a car. I am awaiting my charge card to be credited for all but the $50 cancellation fee. It would have been $100 if the Hertz representative on the 800 number hadn't changed my reservation date. I blame myself for being a minute late but I also feel Kayak is culpable for allowing me to set a pick up time at Hertz's closing time.

Economical Good Price
Pros: I REALLY LIKE THE CAR IT WAS A CHEVY SONIC WITH TURBO GOOD ON GAS AND IT HAS A LOT OF POWER!!!!!!!

Was booked at closing
Cons: We were books at 6pm, but the rental clesed at 6pm. I arrived at 6:03 and they wouldn't let us pick up the vehicle. I asked if they could just sign me out the vehicle, but they said no we are closed after I had explained that my parents were flying in. Now I had to buy a taxi for my parents who flew in later that night. Overall workers were rude and not help worthy.

Pros: Customer service was great, but before the rep would go over the details of the vehice (cleanliness, dents, etc, bit they had service tech go over details of car? Which kept us from leaving sooner.

Horrible Customer Service
Cons: Hertz in Modesto is so unorganized and very unprofessional. I must have called 3 times to ask if there was a certain amount they hold on your card and was told no when I get there I was told oh effect today we hold 200.00, nice to know since I just called that morning to double check. Also, the lady that does all the reservations was so rude to her coworker (the lady that goes cleans the car) it was so uncomfortable how she spoke to her. I will never use them again now Avis came to my rescue (they are literally right next to them) no holds on cads, you can turn in the keys even after hours with no charge and there customer service was on point!
