Pros: They gave us a mini van at the same price as the Hyundai Elantra we had reserved and included a full tank of gas that we didn't have to replace which was nice. As a Prius driver I was concerned about driving such a large van but appreciated their including the gas. I was also concerned about my 96 year old father being able to get in and out of it but he managed.
Cons: Bottom line I would have been more comfortable with the size car I had reserved -

Pros: The pick-up in Stamford, CT was very simple and quick.
Cons: The drop-off location at a mall in Jersey City, NJ was difficult to find and then because it had closed I had to go to another drop-off location at Newark airport which would have been fine except there were not enough service representatives so the line was very long.

Furthermore was sold phone charger that was redundant with car which had usb, is tithe job of employees to know these things? Car had so so gas mileage and an incessantly annoying "time to rest" buzzer. Terrible sight lines

I've asked the attendant to change cars.
I got another one that was dirt in the outside but at least didn't smell.
The attendant at the checkin had an attitude that can not be compared with the other AVIS

Tricked into making a reservation
Cons: There is no age limit listed or age fee loses when purchasing the rental through your app, nor does Hertz make any more of r in follow up emails. So as a 23 year old I easily made a reservation only to be informed 2 days before my pick up that actually the cost would be five times the quoted price and if I wanted to cancel I’d be charged a $50 fee. Seems like hertz and Kayak don’t mins tricking young travelers into renting cars of that means they get to keep the $50 cancellation fee. Lucky I didn’t actually waste my time going to my pickup because I would’ve been very upset and would’ve wasted even more money.

Pros: nothing!!! Nothing!! Absolutely terrible.
Cons: Reserved a minivan, but got a suv instead with little space for luggage. I had to leave some stuff behind for my trip because there’s was no space. The third row seats are useless, they are only good for toddlers. It was a nightmare!! Never again will I rent a ca car from hertz.

Pros: Convenience to the train station
Cons: This was the second car rental experience for us on this trip.
Staff in Stamford appeared to be undergoing training, which was not explained to us, and every question had to be repeated.
The car we booked was very small so we upgraded to a larger model at a cost that was more than I had anticipated.
I am still awaiting email with final bill, so cannot comment on overall cost yet.

Pros: Very fast service. Easy to rent. Easy to pick up. Easy to drop off. No problems with car or service. Staff was friendly.
Pros: It was good that the agent had his phone number and the phone number of Dollar posted on the door of the office so that I could call for assistance.
Cons: When I made my reservation, I had a choice of pick up times from morning until night. I picked 4 PM. Because of travel times, I did not arrive until 5:30 PM, and when I came to the office door, I found it locked and the lights off. The office was inside a hotel, and the hotel staff said no keys had been left for me but that I could call the phone numbers on the door for help. Two of the phone calls sent me to voice mail. The third number was for Dollar customer service. I explained my situation, and the agent explained that I had a provisional reservation, since payment was to be upon pick up, and the office closed at 5 PM (which was not clear when I reserved the car, since I was allowed to select any pick up time). I was transferred for help, and the phone call dropped. I ended up asking the hotel for a ride to the local train station so I could rent a car from another rental company.

Car was filthy on outside (weather was terrible outside so somewhat forgivable)
No snow brush in the car
Key chain had two keys attached to it which is useless and annoying. If we cannot split up the keys no point in having two, and takes up too much room in pockets

Friendly professional staff neutralized by unclear after hours policy
Pros: Friendly staff, clean car, good rates
Cons: Even though the budget guy said I had the option of dropping off the car after hours (if I were a day early) when I arrived the place was locked up like fort knox and I had to make an additional 3 hour round trip to bring the car back *during my work day.*
This was extremely frustrating and the fact that it was avoidable given proper signage or instruction, made it downright maddening.
