Easy pick up and drop off. Conveniently located right in arrivals area. My main complaint is they left the windows part way down and it was raining when we arrived. Driver seat was soaked and passenger seat slightly wet. Also, car was not cleaned very well. Empty water bottle in back as well as cup holders had crumbs/sticky stuff in them.

I went to pick up the vehicle in New Haven. They told me the car type and to walk out to the lot to find it. Found the vehicle and it was FILTHY! The outside was filthy but the inside was worse. Food and crumbs and trash everywhere. All surfaces were dirty and sticky. It smelled like vomit in the vehicle as well. I flagged down a worker and showed him and he said he would vacuum quick. He literally only vaccumed of the seats and then gave the car back. Did not offer to switch out vehicles. He said that the night staff forgot to clean it. I ended up having to stop and clean it myself and wipe all surfaces down instead. Still food and trash on the floors so threw out the trash. The vehicle continued to have a horrible odor making it an awful experience to use for three days. Will definitely not ever rent from New Haven Budget ever again.

The car overall would have been great but when we picked it up, it smelled like someone had smoked something in it and then they sprayed something in the car to cover up the smell. This smell stayed with the vehicle the entire time of the rental. The washer fluid was also low The entire trip.

Did not have the size car I requested. “Free” upgrade meant driving something I was uncomfortable with. First car they assigned me had a tire pressure light on and had to be returned. No one to receive car in parking lot on return so drop off keys and hope for an electronic receipt which doesn’t come. When pressed to get a receipt find a $106 gas charge when the tank was returned full and told I had to email Avis for a refund. LAST time ever with Avis for me!

The car I reserved wasn’t available (small car) was given a massive SUV instead. Car was dirty on the outside and had a large scratch on the outside. My pickup time was for 12 pm and I arrived at 4 pm, and was told that they do not hold cars or guarantee the car reserved if you come after your pickup time (I could only select 12 pm on the site when booking).
